In this episode of The Vibe With Ky Podcast, sleep expert Derek Hales explains why your mattress might be the quiet reason you keep waking up exhausted. If you have been blaming your brain, your schedule, or your stress levels for why you never feel rested, this conversation was made for you.Derek Hales is the founder and editor-in-chief of NapLab.com, where he and his team have tested over 565 mattresses using objective, data-driven methods built entirely in-house. After a frustrating and expensive experience trying to buy his first mattress as a newlywed, Derek built a platform dedicated to cutting through the noise and giving sleepers real, unbiased answers. In this episode, Derek breaks down how the mattress industry is largely designed to confuse shoppers into overspending, what most marketing claims actually mean in practice, and exactly what to buy if you have zero time to research. The conversation also gets into how ADHD brains already run in a low-grade fight-or-flight state, and how a wrong mattress can compound that neurological load in ways that are hard to separate from other causes.Key takeaways from this episode:If your sleep feels noticeably better in a hotel or at someone else's home, your mattress may be a bigger factor in your energy levels than you think. The vast majority of sleepers do best on a hybrid mattress with a medium-firm feel, and spending between 1,500 and 2,000 dollars covers most of what the market has to offer.Cooling features on mattresses are often real but applied at levels too small to make a difference, so take brand claims with a grain of salt.Your pillow, sheets, and mattress protector all affect how your mattress performs, and a cheap protector can undercut even a high-quality bed.Get your free personalized mattress recommendation from Derek and his team at NapLab. The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church invited the Geelong Advertiser into its new Geelong meeting hall to show the public that, "At the end of the day, we're just ordinary people."So... how did that work out?Get-A-Life takes a critical look at the resulting article and asks why Bruce Hales, having condemned "reputation-seeking" as a bane, keeps running back to Rupert Murdoch for more punishment. The article poses the Geelong B-team of Peter Connell, Lester Earl and Damian Earl in their strange, windowless bunker of a "gospel hall," where they take turns feeding the bemused journalist a frothy brew of lies, evasion and, startlingly, one rather damning nugget of actual factual truth. We provide a sober and measured commentary, illustrated by profound excerpts from the ministry of Bruce D. Hales, and a thrilling video clip of Gareth pretending to be best mates with a bunch of assorted tradesmen.Peter Connell also reveals, for the first time, how Bruce financed his $70 million Sydney property portfolio. So what are the Brethren, at the end of the day? Just ordinary people—or a grotesque and surreal cult of brainwashed Hales sycophants desperately trying to pass themselves off as a mainstream Christian church?Watch the podcast and judge for yourself!Link for insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jf6qcuc62v7bk9jzno8rz/4500-173.mp4?rlkey=mp0cmbbmoq01jei0eqbuumran&st=ohq3k3n5&dl=0Link to GoFundMe- https://gofund.me/8b9f805ccTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

The Rapture may not be imminent, but Rapid Relief Team v Bawtinheimer certainly is, with the first hearing in this critical court case this week. We bring you the latest twists and turns as RRT's lawyers Church and Graif try every trick in the book to escape Randazza's revenge - and fail. While the PBCC's legal, political and publicity platforms collapse around his ears, Bruce boldly bullshits on, too drunk, stupid or both to understand that it is game over for the hateful Hales dynasty. We bring you some samples of his recent “helpful ministry” in which his casual cruelty, misogyny and “shoot the messenger” approach to his parishioner's problems is proudly paraded. And yes, we are launching another round of fundraising for the ongoing legal expenses of defending Get-A-Life Podcast against Bruce's increasingly desperate efforts to silence the voices exposing him as the fraud and imposter he is. The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church pet controversy has now exploded across the world, with headlines in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada and beyond. After reports emerged that a child connected to the Hales family was bitten by a dog, new ministry regarding pets was reportedly read out across the PBCC internationally. Families have been left devastated, terrified and confused as dogs, cats, birds and other pets suddenly became the focus of urgent ministry. But this is not new.Former members still remember the horror of the original anti-pet ministry from the 1960s, when beloved family animals were removed in heartbreaking and often deeply inhumane ways in the name of obedience. And yet, in recent years after COVID, pets had quietly started appearing again in some Brethren homes. Some former members even claim local priests were allowing pets if it helped persuade families to stay inside the church as more people quietly began leaving. So what changed? This episode of Lady Whistleblown's Brethren Dispatch looks at the contradictions, the hypocrisy, the loyalty tests, and the deeper emotional control behind the latest ministry. Why is there emergency global ministry over pets, yet no worldwide emergency readings over child abuse, drink driving, or protecting victims? Why does the Rapid Relief Team publicly promote Cookie the kookaburra as a comforting mascot with stuffed toys and emotional symbolism, while inside the church members are reportedly told that pets are spiritually dangerous and take affection away from “God”?And what did Revelation actually mean when it spoke about “dogs” outside the gates? The deeper you look into this story, the stranger it becomes.#PBCC #PlymouthBrethrenChristianChurch #ExclusiveBrethren #RapidReliefTeam #BruceHales #CultAwareness #LadyWhistleblown #GetALifePodcast

Mr Hale finally starts to talk about his wife's health which Margaret likes, having been worried about his nonchalance. He is worried about her and feels scared that their coming to Milton will be the death of her. Margaret tries to calm him a little, but they are nonetheless both worried. When they arrive in the Marlborough Street, they are shocked to not find a large stately house, considering the wealth of Mr. Thornton. Asking a passer by, they find out that Mr. Thornton resides in the house that connects to his factory. The walls are darkened by the smoke of the factory, but inside the house, everything is perfectly clean and white, spotless. The two talked quietly together before being joined by Mrs. Thornton. Margaret tried to explain to the woman that her mother was not well enough to come, but because she tried to explain it in a way that wouldn't make her father more worried either, she give the impression to Mrs. Thornton that Mrs. Hale could have made the effort if she could be bothered to. They talk about Mr. Thornton, and his mother declares that she doesn't see the point in her son taking up his studies again; he should focus on his business. A man should focus on maintaining his place amongst the ranks of the merchants, and her son is known all over Europe amongst the merchant class. Mr. Hale and Margaret had never heard of him before Mr. Bell told them of him. Mrs. Thornton picked up on this and asked them flat out if they knew about him. They end up saying that Mr. Bell told them of her son. Mrs. Thornton then brings up the topic of a strike that is going to be taking place in the city of Milton. Her son is going to be incredibly busy dealing with it. Later, Mr. Thornton goes to join the Hales at their place of residence to give them a doctor's name and address. Margaret thanks him deeply. Mr. Hale brings up the strike. Mr. Thornton explains what is happening and goes on to explain that the workers do not know what is going on behind the scenes, the only thing that they care about is that their wages are not being increased, they have no idea that the business are struggling more than in previous years. He says also have no right to know what a businessman does with his money, and that they shouldn't care about it either. Margaret test him on this but also claims that she knows so little about economics that she cannot properly push him on the subject. They go back and forth a little bit and then Margaret brings up someone abusing the masters and Mr. Thornton presser her asking who she heard saying such things. Margaret goes back and says that if workers are kept ignorant, then it is better for the Masters. Mr. Hale tries to get his daughter to be quiet, as he hears Mr. Thornton getting offended. Mr. Thornton then tries to explain his position further and goes to say that he wishes to work to benefit both his workers and himself, but he feels no need to explain his actions to them. Mr. Thornton then leaves saying goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Hale, and then to Margaret after privately apologising to her for his tone of voice.SEO stuff I don't want to do. Elizabeth Gaskell's classic, "North and South" sees Margaret Hale's live uprooted as her family moves to the north of England. Initially disgusted by the ugliness of the industrial town of Milton, Margaret develops a strong sense of social justice after seeing the poverty and suffering of local mill workers.
Well known Edmonton lawyer, Ian Runkle from the @RunkleOfTheBailey YouTube Channel looked over the claims of Brown Rudnick LLP's client, Rapid Relief Team and laughed! The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) is the charity arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church that recently took a copyright infringement case against this channel. Though he bought her a carriage to make her life easier, she refused to let him keep horses. She didn't think that she would make enough visits to warrant the price. He rents horses for her for the day. Mrs. Thornton's relationship with her children is strange, though she uses terms like “dear” and “love” with her daughter and only calls her son “John,” and talks to him as if he were just a normal person, not her son, she cares far more for her son than her sickly daughter. The following day, Mrs. Thornton tells her daughter, Fanny, that she is going to have horses for the day and asks if she would like to see the nurse. Fanny says that she has a headache and would prefer if the nurse could come to visit her at home. When John enters, he tells his sister that she will, regardless of headache, be visiting the Hales with her mother. He leaves before she can try to protest. Mrs. Thornton is curious as to why her son wishes them to meet these Hales so much.At the Hale's, Mrs. Thornton notices that place is full of knickknacks, and notes to herself that it must be a lot of time-consuming work to dust everything, and that for people with little income, time spent is money wasted. Mrs. Thornton sits with Mrs. Hale, and Fanny with Margaret. Fanny asks lots of questions to Margaret about music and seems to be testing Margaret's patience as she gives rather cold answers. Fanny asks her then if she has ever been to London, and when Margaret says that she lived there for several years, Fanny is full of glee, saying that she would love to be able to go there. Margaret is confused as to why she has never been there, but Fanny says that her mother won't let her go there, she is too attached to Milton. On this, Mrs. Thornton asks why the girls are speaking about her. Fanny gives a response that vexes Margaret. Mrs. Thornton then presses Margaret to know what she knows of Milton, whether she has been to nay of the factories. Margaret says that she does not really care for factories. Mrs. Thornton is very proud of Milton and says that if Margaret will consider lowering herself to visit one, then a visit could indeed be arranged. Later on, in the cab Mrs. Thornton says that they shall maintain a civil relationship with the family but warns her daughter against becoming close with Margaret. Fanny says that she does not need to worry about that. SEO stuff I don't want to do. Elizabeth Gaskell's classic, "North and South" sees Margaret Hale's live uprooted as her family moves to the north of England. Hey Team! So we've got a bit of a different kind of episode today. I am talking with Derek Hales, the founder and editor-in-chief of NapLab, a mattress review website. While that might not scream ADHD, I was interested in having this conversation because so many of us with ADHD have issues around sleep. And what really impressed me with Naplab is how they've really focused on turning mattress testing into actual science, moving away from just "it-feels-soft vibes" and towards using thermal cameras, accelerometers, and other gadgets to really see what's going on with each of these mattresses. And I know how that sounds, but it is actually kind of cool. Anyway, in our conversation today, we talked about a lot of what goes into choosing a mattress, what makes something good for one person and not the right fit for someone else. We spend time talking about this systems-first approach to sleep, how your bed frame, sheets, and even the light from things like your alarm clock can either support or sabotage your REM cycles. Of course, we also touch on some of the unique challenges of ADHD and sleep, from circadian rhythm delays to just trying to get our brains to quiet down at night. If you'd life to follow along on the show notes page you can find that at HackingYourADHD.com/290 YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/y835cnrk Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HackingYourADHD This Episode's Top Tips ADHD brains can have even more trouble filtering out background stimuli, such as lights and sounds, in the bedroom, which can make it even harder for us to fall asleep. Things like blackout shades and earplugs can create an environment that's more conducive to getting more restful and restorative sleep. Your body's ability to shed heat is a biological requirement for deep sleep. To help with this cooling, look for materials that actually facilitate moisture-wicking and air flow, rather than relying on stuff that just has a surface-level cool-to-the-touch feel. A lot of marketing from the mattress industry often uses a "more expensive equals better sleep" model, pressuring us to spend more and more on mattresses. Derek suggests a $1,500-$2,000 price range as the performance peak, where the highest-quality materials are used, and you get the most bang for your buck.
In this episode, Barbara discusses: In this episode, Dr. Barbara Hales breaks down why video is becoming the most powerful trust-building tool in modern medicine. While traditional advertising may create visibility, it often fails to build the one thing patients value most—trust. Dr. Hales explains how simple, authentic videos recorded on a smartphone can outperform high-budget productions by creating a sense of familiarity and human connection. Patients aren't just looking for credentials—they're looking for a doctor they feel comfortable with before they even walk into the clinic. You'll also learn why perfection is actually hurting your visibility, how familiarity bias influences patient decisions, and how even camera-shy physicians can start building authority and attracting better patients with short, consistent videos. If you're a physician (or any professional) looking to grow your practice, build credibility, and connect with your audience on a deeper level—this episode is a must-listen. Key Takeaways: “Stop chasing perfection and start showing up. Patients don't need a cinematic ad—they need a real doctor speaking clearly and calmly on camera.” -Dr. Barbara Hales Connect with Barbara Hales: Twitter: @DrBarbaraHales Facebook: facebook.com/theMedicalStrategist Business Website: TheMedicalStrategist.com Email: info@TheMedicalStrategist.com YouTube:@barbarahales LinkedIn: https://www.LinkedIn.com/in/barbarahales Books: Content Copy Made Easy 14 Tactics to Triple Sales Power to the Patient: The Medical Strategist TRANSCRIPT (237) Introduction: The Power of Video for Doctors Dr. Barbara Hales 0:02 Welcome to another episode of marketing tips for doctors. I’m your host, Dr Barbara Hales, today, we are going to talk about why doctors should speak on camera. Let me start with a question: if you needed surgery tomorrow and had to choose between two surgeons, one had a beautiful website and glossy ads; the other had a simple website but dozens of short videos where you could see them explaining things calmly, intelligently, and clearly. Which doctor would you trust? Most people choose the second one, not because the ads were bad, but because video creates trust, and trust is the real currency in medicine. Today, we’re going to talk about something many physicians avoid speaking on camera, and here’s the truth: you do not need a studio, you do not need expensive equipment. You do not need to become an influencer. What you need is something far more powerful. You need to let patients see who you are, because when patients feel like they already know you, they walk into the office trusting you, and that changes everything. Today, I’ll show you why video builds trust faster than ads, why authenticity beats production quality, why doctors who speak on camera attract better patients, and how to start doing this, even if you hate being on camera, and along the way, I’ll share a few stories, because this shift is happening everywhere in medicine right now. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: Patients don’t trust the medical system the way they used to, not because physicians are less competent, but because the system feels impersonal. Patients feel like numbers. Appointments are rushed, and doctors are overworked. Everything feels transactional, so patients go online looking for answers, and when they do, they’re looking for a human being, and They’re not looking for a brochure, not a marketing campaign, just a real person, someone who explains things clearly, someone who seems thoughtful, someone who actually cares. The Trust Gap in Modern Medicine Dr. Barbara Hales 3:24 Video does that instantly: when a patient watches you speak for two minutes, they subconsciously evaluate things like, “Does this doctor seem calm?” Do they explain things well? Do they seem rushed? Do they seem arrogant? Do they seem compassionate, and do they make a decision, not consciously, but emotionally? I once worked with two cardiologists in the same city, both excellent physicians, both highly trained, both board-certified. Dr. A had a massive marketing budget, Billboards, radio ads, and print ads. Dr. B did something simple. He started recording two-minute educational videos, nothing fancy, just his smartphone, talking about time. Topics like what chest pain actually feels like, when to worry about palpitations, and what a stress test really means. Within a year, patients were walking into his office saying something fascinating. I feel like I already know you think about that before the first appointment even started, the relationship already had trust, and that trust started with a video on his iPhone. If your physician is listening to this and thinking, I probably should be doing this. You’re right, and here’s the simplest place to start. Record one short video answering a question patients ask every day. That’s it, not perfect, just helpful, because education builds trust faster than advertising ever will. Why video works so perfectly, so powerfully, you think video communicates things that text never can: your tone, your pacing, your expressions, your calmness. Patients don’t just hear information; they experience your presence. And presence is powerful. There’s also something else happening psychologically. When patients repeatedly watch your videos, they experience a phenomenon called familiarity bias. The Brain prefers what feels familiar, which means when patients finally meet you in person, you already feel like the safe choice, and that’s incredibly powerful in medicine. I worked with a dermatologist who absolutely hated being on camera. She told me I went to medical school, not broadcasting School, which is fair, but she agreed to try something simple, one video per week, two minutes. That’s it. The first few were awkward. She was stiff. She looked nervous. But something interesting happened. Patients loved them. Why? Because she was authentic. Six months later, her new patient visits increased significantly, but the bigger change was this. Patients arrived educated. They already understood basic concepts. The visits became more efficient, with better conversations and better relationships, and she later told me something funny. I still hate being on camera, but I love what it does. Case Studies: Video vs. Traditional Marketing Many doctors delay video because they think it needs to look perfect, studio, lighting, professional editing, expensive equipment, but the truth is almost the opposite. Patients trust authenticity more than polish. In fact, overly produced content can feel like advertising, and patients are skeptical of advertising, but a doctor speaking calmly in their office that feels real, that feels human, and patients trust humans. An orthopedic surgeon once hired a production company. This was the $40,000 video that didn’t work. They created a beautiful promotional video, drone shots, cinematic music, and perfect lighting. It cost nearly $40,000, think of that. They spent $40,000 on these videos, and it looked amazing, but it didn’t move the needle. Why? Because it felt like marketing. Later, he started recording simple, one-minute educational clips, just explaining common injuries. ACL, tears, shoulder pain, and knee arthritis. Those videos started getting shared by patients, and suddenly, new patients were saying, I saw your video explaining knee pain. Not the $40,000 production, it was the 62nd explanation, because education builds trust. Advertising rarely does something interesting happen. Why Video Works: Presence, Familiarity, and Psychology When doctors start speaking publicly, they begin clarifying their thinking. Teaching forces clarity. Explaining medicine simply is a skill, and when physicians develop that skill, their authority increases. Patients see them as leaders. Colleagues see them as experts. Opportunities appear. Speaking leads to visibility. Visibility leads to authority. Authority leads to opportunity, and it often starts with something incredibly simple, a two-minute video. An internist started making short videos during COVID. He simply explained complex medical topics calmly, no drama, no politics, just clarity. People share them because they feel trustworthy. Within two years, he had a national following. He was invited to conferences, media interviews, and educational panels, and none of that was the goal. The goal was simply to help patients better understand medicine, but clarity and credibility have a way of spreading. Overcoming Fear and Perfectionism on Camera If you’re a physician considering this, here’s the good news. It’s much easier than you think. Start with simple topics that patients ask about every day. Examples: What causes fatigue? When should you worry about chest pain? What does high cholesterol actually mean? Keep videos short. One idea per video. Two Minutes is perfect. You don’t need perfection. You need sincerity and consistency; one video per week is enough, because over a year, that becomes 52 moments of trust. Practical Tips for Physicians If you are a physician who wants to build trust with patients, start speaking, not because you want to become famous, but because patients need doctors who explain things clearly. And if you’d like more ideas like this on how physicians can grow their practices, communicate better with patients and build more sustainable careers. Be sure to subscribe to marketing tips for doctors. And if you know a colleague who’s struggling with practice growth or patient engagement, share this episode with them, because sometimes one small idea, like recording a simple video, can completely change how a practice grows. Thanks for listening till next time. The post Smartphone Videos Beat Ads first appeared on The Medical Strategist.

She tells her mother that they must indeed help the people of Helstone with great enthusiasm, which concerns her mother slightly, so she sends her daughter to bed early. The following day, Mr. Hale comes downstairs and announces that he is going to be out for the day, until around 7pm, letting Margaret know that she has until then to let her mother know the terrible news. Margaret wishes to get the thing over with and asks her mother to join her in the garden. They walk slowly and soon Margaret spews forth the news. Mrs. Hale is at first confused and then shocked and saddened. She goes on to ask why her husband felt like he could not tell her this news himself and is jealous that he told his daughter first. Her sorrows only calm a little when Margaret talks of how much Mr. Hale must have suffered under this tremendous weight. Margaret spend the rest of the day trying to comfort her mother. At around 7, Mr. Hales comes home, Margaret does not go to meet him at the door. When he comes in, he is grey and pale and looks afraid. His wife goes to him and throws herself on his breast where the two cry together. Margaret goes to her room to cry alone. In her room a servant enters and tries to arrange the room, but she is concerned for Margaret and goes to fetch Dixon. Dixon comes and tries to comfort her mistress but end up talking about how awful a man Mr Hale must be to have organised all this without telling any of them. Margaret defends her father and puts their servant back in her place for taking too much liberty. She send Dixon away and bolts the door behind her. Two weeks to organise a removal is almost far too short a time to get it all done, let alone enough time to find a house in Milton. Margaret sets to trying to find a place for her mother to go while she and her father find a house. She finds a place 30 miles away from the industrial town and proposes this to her father, where the agree on it. After suggesting it to her mother, Mrs. Hale's only regret is that her husband cannot join her there too.SEO stuff I don't want to do.

This clip is from a conversation with Dawson, describing what it was like as a kid when Bruce Hales came to his house. Weeks of chaos for a two-hour visit. The house had to be inspected. A brand new chair bought just for him. The garage cleared so no one could see him arrive. Everyone silent when he walked in. And as a kid, you're just sitting there thinking… who is this guy?But it didn't stop there. Within days, decisions he made started affecting whole families — businesses, where people lived, even people's names. All based on whatever he said in the moment. Dawson talks about what that actually felt like growing up around it — not the polished version people outside see, but the reality inside the house. A gentle note for anyone concerned about the strong language in this episode: what you hear on this podcast is about a tenth of the language that circulates inside the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church itself. So if the odd f-bomb causes distress, you may wish to prepare yourself accordingly. In Part Two of our conversation, former member Dawson Ching returns to the Get A Life Podcast to speak openly about what it was like growing up inside the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. Dawson describes life as a teenager in the cult, including his experience attending OneSchool Global, where students are raised in an environment with little exposure to the outside world and often leave without meaningful qualifications. He talks about growing up without music, television, normal friendships, or freedom — and the isolation, bullying, and pressure placed on young people simply for being different. We also confront the culture inside the PBCC, including racism and homophobia that Dawson says were openly normalized. He recounts the group's so-called “cultural food days,” where members dressed up as other nationalities in ways that revealed a disturbing lack of education and awareness — something even Dawson's friends outside the group have described as racism on another level. One of the most unsettling parts of this episode is Dawson's account of what happened when the PBCC's global leader, Bruce Hales, stayed at his family's home in Zürich. Dawson describes the intense preparation required for the visit, the atmosphere surrounding what many treated like a royal arrival, and the immense weight placed on Hales' opinions — remarks that could alter families' lives and leave lasting emotional damage.Dawson also shares how a teacher who showed concern for his safety as a young gay student was later fired, and how a false explanation was given to the students to hide what had really happened. The episode closes with Dawson speaking about the reality of leaving the PBCC, the pain of separation from family, and the life he has rebuilt since. He also introduces a new song born from the trauma and pressure he endured inside the system — a raw reflection on the world created under Bruce Hales' leadership — and offers powerful words for anyone inside the PBCC who may be quietly wondering if there is a way out.Link for insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/6uwmqfpk7dyamygoh5tff/Dawson-part-2.mp4?rlkey=tlye1nljmxkf069dkkd57njoe&st=ek1dm7f8&dl=0To share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meLink to GOFUNDME for legal suit against Cheryl and the Get a Life podcast- https://gofund.me/e976c9d77Get a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG

Derek founded NapLab, which approaches sleep with some serious data rigor. Since 2013, he's tested over 500 mattresses and his story actually grew from personal frustration into helping millions shop smarter. Derek takes transparency to heart: every mattress is put through ten standardized tests yielding 43 real measurements, so readers clearly know how each one performs for cooling, support, pressure relief, and more. He's been a guest on Freakonomics and the Tamron Hall Show, but he's never discussed how the science of better sleep environments could complement the sort of realignment and fitness insights your listeners respond to. Your mattress may be the most important performance tool in your life and most people are choosing it based on marketing instead of measurable impact on sleep, recovery, and long-term health. Sleep drives everything. Cognitive sharpness. Physical recovery. Emotional regulation. Longevity. Yet most people approach mattress shopping with guesswork and brand promises rather than clear performance criteria. Dr. Andrew Fix sits down with Derek Hales, founder of NapLab, to unpack how better sleep starts with better decisions about what you lie on every night. They move past hype and focus on outcomes. Are you waking up sore? Do you feel restored in the morning? Is your mattress actually supporting your body type and sleep position? Derek shares practical insights from testing hundreds of mattresses and consulting with thousands of sleepers, including why medium-firm works for most people, how couples can solve conflicting firmness preferences, and why mattress weight may be one of the simplest indicators of build quality. The conversation also highlights overlooked factors such as foundation support, pillow height, and how different sleep positions affect spinal alignment. The bigger takeaway is clear. If sleep is the foundation of performance and health span, then your mattress is not a casual purchase. It is infrastructure. In Part Two we continue with the chirping and muttering of the Mog, who warmly endorses ICE, and praises Trump's global tarrifs, which ironically, have just been declared illegal and void by the Supreme Court. It is strange to hear Bruce D Hales speaking so authoritatively on the governance of great nations, while his own sorry banana republic collapse around his ears, and to hear him enthusing about punitive tariffs while his scandal-stained UBT is prosecuted for tax evasion. What began as a hobby site called Sleepopolis quickly grew into a full testing operation, expanding from a one-bedroom apartment into a dedicated review facility. Derek & his team have now tested over 500 mattresses, helping millions make smarter purchasing decisions. The ATO raid on the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church's HQ took place 2 years ago, and since then, a series of consequences and related events has played out, some in public, and some behind closed doors. Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, the real picture is a mystery until all these pieces are assembled and that is what Get A Life does for you in this episode. What emerges is three names. Three extremely prominent PBCC leaders whose behavior screams of guilt, and a desperate attempt to evade accountability. We name and shame them. Then we move on to Bruce Hales in person – recordings of a recent fellowship meeting we have obtained, which we will play for you, and offer our commentary on his strange and contradictory ramblings. The profound mutterings of the MOG will be continued on Part 2 of this gripping episode that we have titled “THIEVES”.Link for Insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/t3y5gbssi5aflo6qvxa24/45000-162.mp4?rlkey=pyj6higznc5c2dgvvwhuegqid&st=etwr0zxp&dl=0Link to GOFUNDME for legal suit against Cheryl and the Get a Life podcast- https://gofund.me/e976c9d77Link to articles on ATO raid-https://www.smh.com.au/national/fleecing-the-flock-exclusive-brethren-businesses-raided-by-tax-office-20240321-p5fe6r.htmlhttps://bnnbreaking.com/world/australia/exclusive-brethren-under-tax-office-scrutiny-raid-reveals-potential-financial-misconductTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://open.spotify.com/show/4GhNv1hZp6tjfLyA4s6PMu?si=Gs5euyWpT4y7lOS8OTe4XAPreston Down Trust Decision-https://www.gov.uk/government/news/commission-publishes-report-on-the-preston-down-trustAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=drive_linkIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace

This week, Tee is excited to welcome Derek Hales, founder and editor of NapLab. With more than 11 years of experience, Derek has personally tested over 500 mattresses to deliver objective, data-driven reviews and recommendations. He shares how a frustrating in-store mattress shopping experience with his wife sparked the idea for NapLab and ultimately led him to build one of the most trusted sleep-review platforms available today. Derek breaks down the rigorous, hands-on testing methods used at NapLab and outlines the key factors consumers should consider when purchasing a mattress. The conversation covers mattress materials, performance differences across types, the role of toxicity and off-gassing in mattress production, and common misconceptions that often mislead buyers. The episode also underscores the critical role quality sleep plays in overall health and well-being. Tee and Derek close with practical, actionable advice for making a confident mattress purchase, along with guidance on where listeners can find additional resources and personalized recommendations through NapLab. Sacred Scar is a luminous, unflinching collection of poems that moves effortlessly between the sacred and the everyday. Drawing on the lives of saints, pioneers, ancestors, and the poet’s own family, Scott Hales explores the way faith, memory, and suffering shape a human life. These poems travel from ancient deserts to modern suburbs, from battlefield soil to baptismal fonts, revealing how holiness can emerge from pain, curiosity, humor, and the fragile work of living. With a storyteller’s eye and a historian’s care, Hales invites readers into a space where past and present speak to each other in striking, unforgettable ways. At once intimate and expansive, Sacred Scar is a meditation on belief-how it breaks, heals, transforms, and returns. Whether confronting grief, wrestling with doubt, or celebrating the strange grace of ordinary days, Hales writes with compassion, wit, and a deep reverence for the human impulse to remember. Purchase Sacred Scar Loved Ones is a luminous collection of forty poems that trace the arc of human devotion through the Christian virtues of faith, hope, charity, and love. With a voice both reverent and playful, Kevin Klein explores the everyday sacred—chapel cleaning and youth soccer, midwinter pruning and middle-school band concerts, pioneer grit and parental tenderness. Each poem invites readers to notice grace in unexpected places, discovering how holiness often hides in humor, hardship, and the humble rituals that bind us to one another. Rooted in scripture yet grounded in modern life, Klein's work is rich with vivid imagery, spiritual introspection, and disarming warmth. Whether he is contemplating the nature of prayer, celebrating family, or mourning with those that mourn, his poems open the heart to deeper compassion and connection. Loved Ones is a gentle but profound reminder that the divine is found not only in miracles, but also in the people who teach us to believe, endure, give, and love. Sleep is the most powerful legal performance enhancer you're not fully using yet. We brought in Derek Hales, founder of NapLab and one of the most trusted voices in mattress testing, to strip away hype and show how smarter choices at night translate to stronger training, faster recovery, and better moods. We dig into the single biggest mattress mistake—price extremes—and map the sweet spot where quality and longevity meet: a queen in the $1,500–$2,000 range. Derek explains why most athletes thrive on a medium to medium-firm hybrid for balanced pressure relief, spine alignment, and airflow, and when memory foam's contouring or latex's buoyant feel makes sense. Sensitive to smell? We break down off-gassing, VOCs, and why natural latex still carries a rubber odor even if it's less concerning than polyurethane foam.If you run hot, you'll appreciate our deep dive on cooling—what truly works, what's marketing, and how to build a cooler sleep system from the mattress up. We compare active cooling options like Eight Sleep, ChiliPad, and BedJet, weighing performance, noise, and cost so you invest wisely. Beyond gear, we focus on habits that move the needle: ideal room temps in the high 60s, blackout and fans for stubborn climates, consistent bedtimes, device-free wind-downs, and 5-minute mindfulness to quiet the mental to-do loop. Derek also shares intriguing evidence around Celliant fabrics for circulation and recovery, plus practical strategies for couples—from twin XL splits to separate rooms—so both partners get deep, uninterrupted rest.Whether you're a masters swimmer or a wellness-driven listener, expect clear, actionable guidance to turn sleep into your competitive edge. If you enjoyed this conversation, follow the show, share it with a teammate who trains early, and leave a quick review—your support helps more athletes find the recovery they deserve.Email us at HELLO@ChampionsMojo.com. Strive 26 might be compared to a vast tray of bland and innocuous cat litter, enriched in places with a few half-buried juicy and mephitic turds. In today's episode, the GAL team dons hazmat suits to venture across the sandy wasteland of meaningless acronyms, feel-good slogans and business buzzwords, to excavate and dissect the unpleasant fecal deposits carefully concealed therein by the alley cats of Ermington, AKA the Hales mafia family. In this, we have the invaluable aid of Scottish investigator Damian Hastie, who unerringly pursues the scent of Brethren malfeasance with the nightmarish persistence of the Hound of the Baskervilles. As we were recording this episode, the PBCC was hit by the devastating news that the UBT had plead guilty to a massive tax evasion scheme, and were in the process of repaying multiple millions of dollars to the ATO. The rising mushroom cloud of this ‘end-times' event casts a lurid glow over the Strive26 seminar and explains the unseemly haste to wrap up the pledge process ahead of this damning wake-up call to the long-suffering members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.Link for insiders- https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/k1e0o8hbst8te76eptfmk/45000-153-1.mp4?rlkey=9kwblce6hni4eacbnfpuxom53&st=90uq88oa&dl=0Link to Articles and podcasts episodes-Plymouth Brethren Christian Church linked business network, UBT, repays millions to ATO- https://archive.ph/TnP7YWe're not a cult' and a call for $250 million: Inside Exclusive Brethren's rallying call to members- https://archive.ph/a5H6sSteve Simmons podcast re OSG scandal- https://youtu.be/HNnkaDA2BZ8?si=xljsxDr56E9VHc0BTo share your story or be a guest on the show, email info.getalife@proton.meGet a Life Paypal donations -https://www.paypal.me/getalifepodcastGet a Life GoFundMe-https://gofund.me/614bcd06PayPal link for USA- https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8Tz4n35OJ8Olive Leaf Network- https://oliveleaf.network/Thinking of Leaving Pamphlet and resources - https://oliveleaf.network/resources/Link to Anchor/Spotify- https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/G6sjHA2xHwbPreston Down Trust Decision-http://www.charitycommission.gov.uk/media/591398/preston_down_trust_full_decision.pdfAberdeen incident- https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riImgAqwaqGwjYq6vRQIr4_jscJA0eQN/view?usp=sharingIf we walk in the light letters-https://drive.google.com/file/d/14WlgJladl1r95YGxW0FbZ0prYfjlg7FU/view?usp=sharingAdmin/Legal email address:stouffvillelegal-gal@protonmail.comOffice address:22 Braid BendStouffville ONL4A 1R7#plymouthbrethrenchristianchurch #pbcc #abuse #church #cult #religion #trauma #religioustrauma #sexualabuse #mindcontrol #brainwashing #conversation #exmembers #exposingtruth #expose #exposure #whistleblower #getalifepodcast #getalife #podcast #rules #strict #exclusivebrethren #brucehales #BruceHales #BDH #BruceDHales #UniversalBusinessTeam #UBT #RRT #RapidReliefTeam #Aberdeen #OneSchoolGlobal #OSG #johnhales #shutup #withdrawnfrom #worldly #excommunicate #assemblydeath #christiansect #christiancult #canadiancult #canadiansect #sect #worldwidesect #worldwidecult #cultescape #cultescapestory #bully #bullying #brokenfamily #awareness #cultescape #cultandculturepodcast #cultescapee #cultescapeer #cultescapeeinterview #askingforhelp #unispace
