Jen & Kim get inspired by the Great Amherst Mystery, which was and still is the most well-known and thought-provoking true story of poltergeist activity in Canada. Those who know the story may not know all of the details which the ladies uncover or even the compelling personality of a traumatized young woman, Ester Cox. Ester was completely tormented by something in the same province where Jen & Kim live, but almost 150 years ago. Is it true that the ghost who haunted Ester carved her name in her bedroom wall, or stabbed her in the back twice (with the same knife) into the same wound in 1878? And was it really Ester who burned down the barn? This episode includes excerpts from the book "The Great Amherst Mystery" written by Walter Hubbell.
In this episode, Jen fills you in on what's been going on in her world while Kim is filming another season of Haunted. We also discuss this true paranormal story that happened to us when we were investigating a place in January of 2021. Our friend and director, Dillon Garland will tell you personally the most intriguing story about how his grandfather who passed in 2006 came to visit us all, and how this shaped Dillon's paranormal journey. There was something exceptionally magical about that place where we met Edna... The Boscawen Inn in Lunenburg, NS left us equally on edge, scared, but oddly at home thanks to our gracious host.

Kim sips on Distillery 477's Tower 56 Bourbon. Enjoy!

So buckle up kids, this is a creepy, thought provoking episode. Kim sips on Stagg Jr Bourbon, the new kid in Nova Scotia.
Imagine being in a new environment, a new school. You just spent way too much time researching in the library that time literally slipped away. You’re feeling anxious. You step outside of the library onto the steep concrete stairs which are covered in dark amber leaves. You take the first few steps and take a big deep breath, you remember how to get back to your dorm right? You look over to the left, it doesn’t look familiar. You look up at the dark stone building to the left and you see what looks like a female face, from the top floor, staring at you. Wait, there's no lights on in there… is that building even being used? OMG was that a ghost? Kim and Jen discuss a couple of the most haunting stories they've heard surrounding Haunted Universities while they sip on Old Tub Bourbon.

In this episode, Jen and Kim discuss the terrors of deep, dark and dank mines with shafts reaching thousands of feet underground. Many people have lost their lives in search of silver, gold, coal and other precious gemstones, so what's the true cost of being a miner? Going to work at dark, working in the dark and going home when it's dark could have a very negative effect on the human mind, but is it enough to make someone start hearing full blown conversations knowing no one else is around to make a sound? What about Tommy Knockers? Are they good, or are they evil? Depends on who you ask, but one thing that's for sure is DON'T WHISTLE! The ladies sip on Bernheim Straight Kentucky Wheat Whiskey.

Jen and Kim sip on a new acquisition to their bar... Little Book.
In this episode, Jen and Kim catch up with you while they are filming and learning how to become professional ghost hunters. Since Jen is mildly obsessed with jails, the ladies decide to uncover one of Canada's creepiest places known as the Old Don Jail. Since it's inception, the jail has always carried dark and morbid energy about it. Multiple hangings, makeshift death chambers, and unruly ghosts are some of the environments you will encounter if you happen to visit this currently unoccupied jail. Maybe that's why Lunenburg is so haunted? They discover an area at the very top of the hill of Old Lunenburg, known as the Lunenburg Academy. This gothic looking building has a few spooky visitors and just so happens to sit next to the Hillcrest Cemetery and partially on top of the Old Gallows. Let the ladies take you on a virtual tour of the area with 4 ghost stories. Kim sips on bourbon from the Buffalo Trace experimental collection, Wheated 125.
Kim & Jen decide that Lighthouses are creepy enough to do a PART II. It seems that lighthouses often are an integral part of Maritime history, showing lost sailors their route during a storm or an intense fog. Often these lighthouses have tried to show the way, but Mother Nature and fate have a different course for the captain. Not only have many souls been swept out to the sea's watery grave, but since many of these lighthouses are on barren islands, the islands have their own sinister history. Case in point with Rose Island, just off of Newport, Rhode Island as it once was used during the Civil War, again in WWI and WW2, but also as a quarantine hospital during a massive Cholera outbreak. The ladies sip on Strawberry Lemonade Bourbon cocktails made with Maker's Mark throughout this episode.

They interview the creator, writer, director, producer, and co-host of Eastlink TV's Haunted, Paul Kimball. Paul comes from a skeptic's standpoint until experiences happen that he and the rest of his team just simply cannot explain. He gives some fantastic examples of when he really had to question, are ghosts real? The ladies sip on a classic bourbon cocktail, the Whiskey Sour. Recipe below: 2 oz bourbon 1-2 tsp egg whites 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 1-2 tsp of maple syrup or simple syrup garnish with cherries Pour all liquids into a cocktail shaker over ice and shake aggressively. Pour over ice into a lowball glass, garnish with cherries.

Have you heard of Busby's Stoop Chair? A convicted killer residing in the UK in the early 1700s named Thomas Busby decided that no one was going to enjoy a drink from his favorite chair after he was sentenced to death... So, he put a vicious curse on his beloved oak chair. Years later, it would appear that this curse took hold and people who sat in it started dropping off this earth like flies. Jen and Kim dive deep into this mystery and uncover the story surrounding another cursed chair in an old mansion in the USA. The ladies sip on multiple types of bourbon, just to keep themselves sane while they continue to record under social distancing measures.
In this episode Jen and Kim discover the mystery around George Whittell, Jr. and his beloved (extremely haunted) Thunderbird Lodge. From a card house to an opium den, to a 600-ft underground tunnel this story is so wild that you just can't make it up. If you liked Tiger King, you're going to love the story of this original exotic pet collector from the early 1900's The beauty and majesty of this custom built mansion seems irrelevant when you consider how haunted this place really is. It's been said that both the ghosts of Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe hang out there too! Kim sips on and reviews Knob Creek Rye while Jen gets cozy with a dram of Eagle Rare.
In this episode of Boos & Bourbon, the ladies take you on a wild trip of blooper reels. In this episode, Jen and Kim talk about one place in particular that has been on our minds for a long time. The Cecil Hotel. This hotel has been the home to two very well known serial killers, the Black Dahlia was there before her gruesome murder and the one of the biggest conspiracy theories surrounding the paranormal, the Elisa Lam case. While they skim over the history and mystery around this LA historical monument, the ladies sip on an oldie but goodie... Buffalo Trace.
Jen and Kim dive into the background of witches.Besides being badass, the ladies take a look at what kind of witches are out there, what are some common (and not so common) beliefs and the history of them. If you are interested in learning more about Wiccans, their tools of the trade and their abilities to bring harmony to this world, then this episode is a must listen! The ladies get all vintage-y and sip on a almost 40 year old bourbon, Jim Beam's 100 month recipe.
