How do you actually say YES to the adventure of life? What do you do when life keeps throwing your curveballs, hurdles and stop, wrong way signs? What do you do when life keeps whispering in your ear and nudging you to go another way? Well, my guest this week knows a thing or two about the above! On this episode, we spoke about: How Dre got into marketing and made some bold moves in her career at an early age The health challenges Dre navigated as a result of not choosing her true path The magic that has transpired in Dre's life since she did say YES Andrea Beck Andrea is a Cultural Futurist, Business Strategist, Creative Mentor, and CEO. She's the founder of All Rise, the next gen business development agency that innovates for impact (or “idea lab for transformational leaders and orgs”). There, she helps purpose-led brands launch, scale and establish themselves in their market, so they can become more influential and make a real difference in the world. From working for the Big 4 Management Consultancies, to pursuing art as a law school drop-out, to designing the strategies for major multinational brands like Barbie, Colgate and Chanel, to changing the law multiple times with marketing (e.g. removing taxes on tampons, introducing new Power of Attorney legislation to prevent abuse). Andrea has worked in every corner of the creative industry, as a researcher, analyst, business / brand / marketing strategist, content creator, partnerships manager, sales representative, brand ambassador, and business owner. With business of all sizes. She's fascinated by the power of stories to drive change, here to give future visionaries a voice, and raise the leaders our world needs. According to Andrea, we live in an extremely exciting time, where anyone has the opportunity to get their message and idea out there. But, having worked with many first-time creators, she also knows how daunting this can be! 30-day challenge To remove some of the barriers many aspiring business owners and thought leaders have, she's leading a 30-Day Challenge, where she'll be building a completely new brand and community from scratch, covering the exact steps it takes, from defining your vision, to finding your edge, to growing your audience, and beyond. She invites those who have always wanted a side hustle, or to take their brand to the next level, to join her. The creative revolution is here, and there has never been a better time to pursue your purpose or passion project! Want to improve your video SEO strategy so your videos rank better? Video is hot right now, and the competition is steep. That's why you'll want to watch this recent live show with Paul Andre de Vera, Search Marketing Global Lead at Workday and founder of the SEO Video Show. Paul and our Founder, Loren Baker, are talking about ways to optimize your video SEO strategy for higher rankings! It's never been more important to treat your YouTube channel like a website that you optimize for SEO. This episode is filled with tips and insights into how SEO blends with YouTube, and how to grow your YouTube presence. In my research, I found that it takes about 16 months for someone to reach 1,000 subscribers and get monetization. That 4,000 hours, I was able to get that within about six months. –Paul Andre de Vera, 42:48 You can learn by teaching, you can learn by researching, and then you can learn by interviewing others as I do on my show. I can pick the brains of all the SEO professionals there. It is one of those things where I can increase my knowledge by having great conversations with people. –Paul Andre de Vera, 3:08 Sometimes, we think a lot more about sales than we do retention in marketing. Retention and engagement are what bring future growth. So hitting that base, letting them in like, "Hey, you're VIPs!" and you can see this ahead of time lets everyone else feel special by doing so.–Loren Baker, 27:22 [00:01] - How Dre got into SEO & what motivated him to launch his own YouTube show. [09:39] - Where Andre gets ideas for his show. [11:21] - How to deal with content burnout. [12:28] - How to keep content fresh. [14:19] - Where Andre gets inspiration from. Being stuck at home was one of those things where it became therapy.–Paul Andre de Vera, 30:04 So many times in advertising and marketing, we hear people saying new audience, new users, new sales, and bypassing the power of targeting your audience. –Loren Baker, 26:59 Grow your channel on the same platform that you're on. For example, give me a podcast guest if you have a podcast. If you have a YouTube channel, engage with other YouTube channels so you can bring that crowd quickly to your channel. –Paul Andre de Vera, 04:39 For more content like this, subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/searchenginejournal. In this episode of Chasing Dreams, Aimee J. is chatting with her own personal trainer, Andre (Dre) Watson. Dre is an amazingly fit guy who loves exercise and training. He’s always been an athlete but didn’t even think about becoming a personal trainer until way after High School. Once he got started he’s never looked back. Find out how Dre pursued his dream of becoming a fitness trainer, how he has established client relationships that have endured many changes in his employment, and how he’s stepping into the scary unknown by starting his own business. This is a fun and insightful conversation you won’t want to miss. No excuses allowed. When Dre Watson is working with a client he’s not one to allow for any excuses. It doesn’t matter if the client has an injury, is sick, or has some kind of limitation. Dre finds a way to help them work their body without hurting themselves. It’s not that he’s a slave driver, he’s just committed to helping his clients reach their goals. Listen in to this episode to hear how Aimee was helped by Dre’s relentless focus on pushing her toward her goals in spite of a wrist injury. Dre’s a no nonsense guy you’re gonna’ like. All work is easy work: a mindset for success. Dre Watson has learned an incredible mind hack that gets him through some tough obstacles. No matter what the work is that he has to do, he tells himself, “All work is easy work.” What he means is that he will choose to think positively about the task, telling himself that he’s going to be able to get it done easily. That equips him with a mindset to push through it quickly, not giving any credence to difficulty or obstacles. Hear Dre explain it himself on this episode of Chasing Dreams, with Aimee J. TWEET: All work is easy work. A #mindset that enables you to accomplish #greatness Chase your dreams but be realistic. Aime J. and Andre Watson (today’s guest) both believe in chasing dreams. There’s no reason not to go for it. But as important as it is to go for your dreams, you’ve got to make sure you don’t leave your responsibilities behind. Dre is working toward his own full time training business, but he’s not there yet. He continues to work a part time job while he’s getting his business running, setting up his website, and establishing a broader client base. He’s doing that because he’s got a family that he’s committed to taking care of… but he’s still going to pursue his dream. Find out how to do the same in your life by listening to Dre’s story, on this episode. When you have something you love to do, you find ways to make it work. That’s something Dre Watson believes with all his heart. It’s the way he lives his own life and he tries to inspire others to do the same. His personal training business is just getting started and there’s lots of reasons he could have given up. But he hasn’t because it’s the exact thing he wants to do, so he keeps pushing toward it. He figures it out. He finds ways to make it work. As Aimee and Dre chat, you’ll hear the attitudes that make Dre’s “make it work” philosophy work in his life, and maybe you’ll find ways to apply it to your situation, too.
