Have you ever struggled to forgive someone who has deeply hurt you? This powerful episode with Jared Wilson, recorded during our 2025 Love Like You Mean It Cruise, delves into the profound connection between forgiveness, love, and God's grace. We explore how forgiveness isn't just a feeling, but a conscious act of love – a "relational grace" that mirrors the undeserved blessings God pours out on us. By embracing the radical gift of forgiveness as a powerful way to reflect God's love and grace in our relationships, even when it feels difficult and costly, we're reminded that by forgiving others, we not only free ourselves but also make God known in the world. What's the big deal? You're just standing up there, talking. On this week's episode of the For The Church Podcast, Jared Wilson and Ross Ferguson suggest some things about preaching the average church member may not know. Some misunderstandings, misperceptions, and even mis-aimed appreciations.
One thing Jared and Ross share is sarcasm as a love language. So on this week's ep they're revisiting the subject of humor -- sarcasm among friends, mockery on social media, the pros and cons of humor, the ins and outs of humor sensitivity, and what the Bible says about it all.
It's a mailbag episode! On this week's For The Church Podcast, Jared Wilson and Ross Ferguson dig into the inbox and tackle questions related to sheep swapping and church hopping, the pursuit of writing, fruitful pulpit supply, and how Satan's rebellion connects to questions of worship, sanctification, and the possibility of sin in the new heavens and new earth. As always, to submit a question for the mailbag, email us at mailbag@ftc.co

Was Gen-Z at TGC? Beginning with that strange question, today's episode of the FTC Podcast transitions to a conversation about the calling of young adults for Christ's kingdom. At some point in the last fifty years, our society began to see the young adult years as a season of life when you can just “figure things out” and have as much fun as possible while you do. Of course, our teens and twenties can be fun. And no college student or young adult in a first job can know what the next ten to fifteen years will hold. But these decades are also the launching pad for the rest of your life. Young adults will have opportunities to make an eternal difference. After all, they're on mission now. Jesus's commissioning is all that is needed to love God, love people, and witness to the truth of the gospel. Jared Wilson visits with returning guest, author and pastor Jeremy Writebol, about his new book Make It Your Ambition, which presents young adults with seven worthy pursuits to ignite young people's imaginations to discover what a life marked by robust, gospel-fueled, and Spirit-filled obedience can look like.

Lots of singles in the church. Fewer and fewer marriages. What gives? In this episode of the FTC Podcast, Jared Wilson and Ross Ferguson talk about their own observations and experienes in the "dating world" of the local church. Why are young men and women finding it difficult to find potential spouses? Why do they find it difficult sometimes to even talk to each other? What are the relational landmines in seeing the church as a dating pool? And what can singles actually do to enhance their potential for Christian marriage?

Capitol Hill Baptist Church, located just blocks away from the center of American power, has a rich 150-year history. Its members have participated in significant world events, advocated for religious freedoms, and spoken out against the moral failings of the times. There's no doubt this church has had a unique impact on evangelicalism from a significant location. But these lively characters and their unique experiences only tell part of this engaging narrative. On today's episode of the FTC Podcast, Jared Wilson visits with Caleb Morell, author of A Light on the Hill, which tells the history and personal stories behind the influence Capitol Hill Baptist Church enjoys today.

Listen to reaction and thoughts about the Patriots' most recent draft selection at 95th overall: Georgia center Jared Wilson.
Its a bonus hour of the All-Night Draft Party as Arcand and Jon Lyons wait for the Patriots to make their final selection of the night; except it keeps getting pushed back with the Patriots trading back in the third round of the draft. Mike Vrabel is looking like his former head coach Bill Belichick with his constant movement backwards in the draft. Then, as they guys wait, they discuss the Celtics having a bad night in Orlando and losing Game 3 of their first round series to the Magic. It may not be a significant loss, but it is definitely annoying to have the series be extended at least an extra game. And, a selection is finally made and Jared Wilson comes from Georgia to New England as the Patriots draft the center with their final third round draft pick. Is this a good move or a bad move?
The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed joins the show to break down the Patriots' first four draft picks: LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams and Georgia center Jared Wilson. Send us a textIn this full episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates*, Drew and Rob take Giants fans deep into early 2025 NFL Draft scouting as they evaluate five more wide receivers and five top center prospects the New York Giants could target. With Big Blue still looking to build a stronger offense for the future, this episode focuses on players who could fit the needs of the Giants heading into next season. Whether you're a draft junkie or just getting started, this scouting breakdown covers some of the most intriguing prospects that fans should know about as we approach draft season. At wide receiver, the hosts discuss Stanford's Elic Ayomanor, an explosive pass catcher with a strong build and a knack for contested catches despite some drop concerns and a limited route tree. Oregon's Tez Johnson is described as electric, twitchy, and a true YAC threat, but his small frame and lack of deep-threat production raise questions. TCU's Savion Williams brings size and athleticism at 6'5”, with raw potential and red-zone upside, but inconsistent hands and blocking issues. Miami's Xavier Restrepo is highlighted as a record-setting receiver and high-IQ route technician with two straight 1,000-yard seasons, although his poor 40-yard dash and small size might scare some teams off. Finally, Isaiah Bond, now at Texas after transferring from Alabama, offers elite speed and dynamic playmaking ability, but his hands and physicality remain concerns. Then, the focus shifts to the top center prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft. Georgia's Jared Wilson is identified as a rising prospect with great quickness and punch, though limited starting experience may impact his draft position. USC's Jonah Monheim shows off strong versatility, having played across the offensive line, but remains raw as a true center. Texas' Jake Majors brings solid run-blocking and pass-protection instincts, but questions linger about his strength and ability to hold blocks consistently. Ohio State's Seth McLaughlin is known for strong hands and size, but persistent snap issues from his Alabama days could haunt his stock. Lastly, Boston College's Drew Kendall, son of former NFL lineman Pete Kendall, flashes intelligence and mobility but lacks size and strength against top-tier competition.Throughout the episode, Drew and Rob provide detailed insight into where these prospects may land in the upcoming draft, projecting most of them as Day 2 or Day 3 picks. For fans of the Giants looking to get a leg up on the 2025 draft class, this episode is a must-watch. Whether you're eyeing future weapons for the Giants' quarterback or key pieces to solidify the interior offensive line, this breakdown delivers an early look at the names every New York Giants fan should keep on their radar.Stay tuned to the *2 Giants Goofballs* Giants channel for more New York Giants live analysis, NY Giants news and updates, and all the latest Giants news and rumors. Here's a first for the FTC Podcast! Jared and Ross recorded this Mailbag episode live at the Federated Fellowship Bible Conference in Pella, Iowa on March 8, 2025 as the first part of two total live episodes. The questions submitted by listeners include: when should pastors speak out about politics, why evangelism feels "transactional," the impact of conferences and podcasts on our understanding of pastors, and how uniform church members should be on doctrinal matters.
1. Do you think Will Campbell's best role at the NFL level is at tackle or at guard?2. What are your biggest concerns about Armand Membou's game at the moment and would you be surprised if he eventually ends up as the best OL from this class?3. Do you think Kelvin Banks, Jr. will mostly benefit a team as a run blocker or as a pass protector during his rookie season?4. If you're a team picking in the top-20 with a huge need at left tackle and you deem that medical information to be accurate, is Josh Simmons worth taking there?5. Do you think Donovan Jackson will be better at guard or tackle in the NFL? 6. Is Tyler Booker's extreme lack of athleticism enough to scare you away from him, or is he still a prospect with an extremely high floor who's worthy of a top-40 selection, if not higher?7. As Dane Brugler noted in November, many around the league (if not most) would say Grey Zabel's best possible fit is at center. What makes Grey Zabel well-equipped to be the proverbial QB of an NFL offensive line?8. Buy Or Sell-Josh Conerly, Jr., Aireontae Ersery, Ozzy Trapilo, Charles Grant, Cameron Williams, Emery Jones, Jr., Logan Brown, Jonah Savaiinaea, Wyatt Milum, Marcus Mbow, Tate Ratledge, Miles Frazier, Jackson Slater, Willie Lampkin, Jared Wilson
Wonder and awe of the beautiful is essential to the human experience. Our souls are often shaped and formed by the aesthetic experiences provided by the Creator. When we neglect this aspect of our lives, we fail to realize how God has created us uniquely to not only enjoy beauty, but to also create the beautiful. A distinctly Christian vision of these realities opens our eyes to see how God has enchanted our world to draw us toward Him, the source and substance of beauty, for a deeper experience of the Christian life. On this episode, Jared Wilson talks with pastor and author Matt Capps about his new book Drawn by Beauty and the place of awe and wonder in the Christian life. We even talk about Christian movies!

JFK. 9/11. QAnon. Lizard people? This week, Jared Wilson and Ross Ferguson discuss conspiracy theories! Why do they attract? What's the fascination? Are they all bunk? And how should Christians think about them?
Here at MinistryWatch I have witnessed a tragic phenomenon over and over again. A young person begins the Christian life with passion and enthusiasm. But if that person doesn't put down an anchor in the Gospel, he begins to drift. Before long, that young person finds himself, or herself, broken apart on the rocks, wondering, “How did this happen?” If that person was a leader in the church, the damage can spread far and wide. My guest today, Jared Wilson, says Scripture can answer the question “How did this happen?” He points to Hebrews 2:1 as a key. “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” His new book is called “Lest We Drift: Five Departure Dangers from the One True Gospel.” I've got to say that I have been looking forward to this book and my conversation with Jared, in part because I believe the topic is so vital, but also because I've been following Jared on social media for a while and have found him to be one of the increasingly rare sane voices there. So it was a pleasure to settle in to this conversation with him. Jared C. Wilson is assistant professor of pastoral ministry and author in residence at Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City. He is also pastor for preaching and the director of the Pastoral Training Center at Liberty Baptist Church, a Kansas City suburb. I'd like to remind you that during the month of March we are asking our regular listeners and readers to prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter of MinistryWatch. Monthly supporters play a special and badly needed role here at MinistryWatch. They give us a certain baseline of support that we know we can count on every month. That is a tremendous help in our planning. I also want to mention that as a monthly supporter you will receive ALL the donor premiums we offer during the year. To become a monthly supporter, just go to MinistryWatch.com and hit the donate button at the top of the page. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. Thanks to Amy Morris at Zondervan, as well as my assistant Carley Southerland, for arranging my interview with Jared Wilson. Please join me again on Friday when Natasha Cowden and I review the news of the week that we've been covering here at MinistryWatch. Until then, may God bless you.

It's Jared and Ross's 100th episode together(!) and another installment in the FTC Mailbag feature, where they answer listener-submitted questions. This week's topics include church membership processes, should pastors tithe?, the church in the Northeast, small groups, stewardship campaigns, using quotes in sermons, and resources on hospitality.
