This week on The Wonder of Ivy podcast, I sat down with Jarrod Brown (aka J-Rod.) If Jarrod sounds familiar it is because he was on The Wonder of Ivy's 2019 “Who To Watch” list. He is also the owner of Music Is Passion studios, the audio engineer for the podcast, the official “SOiL DJ,” and that is barely scratching the surface. This episode discussing his background, ghost writing, local talent, and much more. In this episode I talk to the travler and food lover Jarrod Brown. With almost 43K followers on Instagram, he manages to eat for free in the best restaurants all over the world. But he's not your typical food blogger. He never posts pictures of himself and the food pics aren't as pretty that you're used to! We talked about how he got where he is today, not having a house and how long he thinks he can live like this!

We are in for a special treat this Sunday as Jarrod Brown from Mission Lazarus will be with us to share an exciting update about the work in Honduras. Jarrod is an excellent communicator and is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with people around the world. He graduated from Abilene Christian University with degrees in International Business and Spanish and moved to Honduras in 2001. Jarrod and his wife, Allison, started Mission Lazarus in 2004 which has full time operations in both Honduras and Haiti that includes Spiritual, Educational, Medical and Agricultural outreaches and 27 churches have been planted. Mission Lazarus “Glorifies God by advancing his Kingdom through holistic ministry and social enterprise with educational, medical, agricultural, and spiritual outreaches.” Jarrod says that “our holistic approach to ministry seeks to address multiple facets of community development and growth and ultimately is about sharing the love of Jesus around the world. Our comprehensive approach focuses on specific outreach methods in the areas of agriculture, education, medicine, church planting, refuge (orphan care) and addressing social needs of the community.” I know that we will all be blessed this week as we gather as the body of Christ to celebrate what God is doing among us here in West Houston and around the world. Blessings, Brian

What if you could eat farm to table on the go? On the level of Chipotle or Panera? Except it's local, not a chain, and all the ingredients come from within 100 miles of Charlottesville? Meet Danielle and Ken Notari owners of Nude Fude on Hydraulic Road. Along with CIA-trained chef Jarrod Brown, who worked with Chef Dan Barber of Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Lemaire in Richmond, this family restaurant hopes to change the dynamic of F2T - bringing it down from fine dining into something more realistic. Their goal is to get you in and out within 5 minutes. If you're in a hurry? They have a great To-Go section. As well as beer, wine, and a great patio! These guys have done their research and it shows in the food and in the passion for their mission. I LOVED being able to interview such nice folks at the very beginning of their journey. Go eat In the Nude! You'll love it. Get the boiled peanuts - they're the real deal. How did a quote from Anthony Bourdain inspire Ken during his planning? Listen to find out and also learn about how they're going to lure, and work with the high school across the street. This episode is sponsored by In A Flash Laser.
