Why Kefir Matters More than just a probiotic – Kefir is a living ecosystem of bacteria and yeast, offering benefits beyond typical fermented foods. Gut health & digestion – Restores microbiome balance and may help with IBS. Immune system support – Contains natural antibacterial and antifungal compounds. Bone health & longevity – High in calcium, magnesium, and vitamin K2, supporting bone density. Why it beats store-bought probiotic drinks – No added sugars, no preservatives, and a wider range of beneficial microbes. The Mysterious Origins of Kefir No one knows! Ancient legends – Believed to have originated in the Caucasus Mountains, with stories linking it to nomadic herders or religious figures. Some claim kefir grains were a gift from the Prophet Muhammad to Orthodox Christians. Others suggest they evolved naturally in animal skins used for storing milk. Why scientists can't recreate it – Unlike yogurt cultures, kefir grains cannot be artificially synthesized, making them a true biological mystery. Kefir grains are a complex symbiotic community (SCOBY) that must be propagated from existing grains. Attempts to isolate and recreate them in labs have failed, suggesting a unique co-evolution with traditional dairy farming. 4. The Science Behind Kefir Fermentation Bacteria vs. Yeast – A Perfect Partnership Bacteria (Lactic Acid Bacteria - LAB) – Convert lactose into lactic acid, lowering the pH and thickening the milk. Yeasts – Break down sugars into ethanol and carbon dioxide, adding mild effervescence and contributing to flavor complexity. Acetobacter species – Convert ethanol into acetic acid, giving kefir its subtle tang. How fermentation transforms milk Lactose breakdown – Kefir becomes more digestible for lactose-intolerant individuals. Nutrient enhancement – Increases B vitamins, calcium, and K2, making nutrients more bioavailable. Probiotic boost – Contains up to 50+ strains of beneficial bacteria and yeast, making it superior to yogurt in microbial diversity. How to Make Kefir at Home Basic Steps: Add kefir grains to whole milk (raw or pasteurized, but avoid ultra-pasteurized). Cover loosely and let ferment 12-24 hours at room temperature. Strain the grains, store finished kefir in the fridge, and repeat the process. Troubleshooting Common Issues: Too sour? Shorten fermentation time or use cooler temperatures. Too thin? Use higher-fat milk or ferment longer. Off flavors? Check milk quality and ensure grains are healthy. 6. Ways to Use Kefir Beyond Drinking It Culinary Uses: Smoothies & flavored kefir – Blend with fruit, honey, or spices. Salad dressings & dips – Use as a tangy base for ranch or tzatziki. Kefir cheese & butter – Strain whey to make a spreadable cheese. Second Fermentation for More Flavor & Fizz: How to do it – Store strained kefir in an airtight bottle with fruit or honey for another 12-24 hours. Why it works – Yeasts consume remaining sugars, boosting carbonation. Best add-ins: Citrus peel, ginger, berries, vanilla bean. Make it a great week! GUYS! 1.) Mindfulness If we start to become mindful (without judging) what we eat then our body lose weight. The worst case is always to judge yourself or to give yourself a bad consciousness for the things that you are doing or aren't doing.Because a bad consciousness can keep us in any bad habit forever. First, make a diary about everything that you eat on a daily basis. If possible get a small scale and measure the quantity.Second, accept your bad habits for gaining weight. For instance: 6:00 - 6:30 AM Workout with stretching and Qigong6:30 - 7:00 AM Meditation7 o'clock, breakfast with a green smoothy, (200g bananas, 50g salad, 300g pears, 100g orange, 150g Kefir milk, 1tbsp honey), 7:30 AM 7 Km Bicycle ride, medium speed against the wind to your working place. 10 AM one medium apple and 2 big size bananas.2.) Look, that you eat a lot of fiber. Choose full grain flour over normal flour for all food with grains. For instance: brown rice or basmati rice.Never eat white sugar again. Instead choose honey, brown sugar,… Food with fiber will satisfy our appetite without adding too many calories. 3.) Don't eat industrially processed food like the tomato ketchup, instead, put the fresh tomatoes into a fruit mixer… Cooked tomatoes are very acid and so bad. With industrially processed food, it is impossible to trust our appetite. Because the industrially processed food has ingredients that block our barriers to stop eating so that we overeat. Remember, we need fresh vitamins and enzymes and not that garbage food. 4.) Probiotic. We need for a good digestion a healthy gut flora and that we get through Probiotic. All of our food has ingredients that kill our healthy gut flora. Every day, even I (as a raw cost eater) eat fermented vegetables or Kimchi as a Probiotic. Kefir milk is a Probiotic, too. Understand, 90% of Chinese/South Asian have a milk allergy. When You can't eat that, take Probiotic. With Probiotic your health and immune system will become much better. 5.) Sleep better and longer to lower your stress level. A lack of sleep will increase our stress level… A higher stress level will cause that you eat more.6.) Suppressed sex will lead to fatness. When the males and females don't enjoy sex they eat more… So more corpulent a female is so less sexual arousal will the female feel. More sex will lead also to a lower stress level… Sex is good for you.7.) Exercise more that will lower your food consumption and your stress level. Instead of exercising your jaw (for eating) exercise more of the rest of your body.8.) Instead of focusing on only your weight loss, focus on your healthy lifestyle. It is always so if we focus only on our goal we sabotage ourselves. The path is our goal. And so we relax! How do we do it? I hope with fun@!My Video: 8 strategies to lose easier weight… https://youtu.be/YMHCcIp_pXcMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/8-strategies-to-lose-easier-weight.mp3
They have thrown a baby rat in a bucket of water and stopped the time how long it will swim easily. And then they gave the baby rat Probiotic… The results were outstanding. With Probiotic we feel less anxious and our endurance will be much higher.Even better, if we want to lose some weight with Probiotic it is much easier and faster. Because we need a good digestion and don't want to clog our intestine by reducing our food. We don't want to poison our guts through a too slowly digestion. Our digestion should be fast and efficient. A slow digestion reduces our power because we need 70% of our energy for the digestion. So worse our digestion through bad bacteria so more we store fat in our body. And we attract with a slow digestion inflammation. We poison our body!Imagine you give a spoiled mango in a basket with ripe mangoes. What will happen? The same will happen in your guts when your digestion is slow. Fresh food will spoil in your gut and will poison your body. The worst scenery is to eat fruits or a sweet dessert after eating a salami pizza. Our digestion will need for the pizza 24 to 36 hours and normally, the fruits need only up to 30 minutes for the digestion. First, the pizza and the fruits will be rotten and fermented to alcohol and poison in our stomach and then delivered to our guts. Our stomach needs up to 18 hours to digest that combination of food. The guts extract the nutrition and need again 12 hours until they excrete the excrement. Remember, the wine producer put sulfate inside the wine otherwise the wine will be poison….The cancer cells need fermented sugar and love the acid environment that creates the pizza with the sweet dessert. The gut-brain connection.A worse digestion will affect our body and mind. Our feelings and thoughts can affect our digestion. Our emotion will be processed through our guts. The Oxford University has proved that with their rat and Probiotic experiment.1.) A slow digestion or constipation indicates that we are blocked in our thinking or that we over think - thinking paralyzes.2.) The Diarrhea shows us that we have deep fears. If we improve our digestion, then we reduce the risk of constipation or diarrhea. We should have at least 1 bowels movements/day … Our today food is poison for our guts because it is with antibiotics, arsenic, white sugar, industrially processed food, too fewer enzymes, too less fiber, too much meat, and fish … And that kills our healthy bacteria in our guts. The Probiotic will replace our unhealthy bacteria with healthy bacteria. The best Probiotic is from fermented vegetables, Korean Kimchi (You can make both by yourself) or Kefir-milk. Eat the fruits before your main meal and wait 30 minutes until the fruits are digested. Almost any industrial processed food has white sugar inside (good for cancer) and no enzymes. All combination with meat and grains need over 14 hours of digestion. Eat meat/fish/poultry only with vegetables. Better is not to eat any meat/fish/poultry.Make a list what you eat every day and in which combination. Don't judge and don't blemish you. A bad consciousness makes everything worse. Accept what you do and change in baby steps.Awareness is always the first step before we can change anything.Start to take Probiotic. The Winter Solstice, also known as, Yule, is a celebration of the return of the light, making it a wonderful time for merry-making with friends and loved ones. That being said, the Winter Solstice is also a perfect time for deep, inner reflection. As we approach the longest night of the year, consider lighting a candle, putting a log in the fireplace, or simply sitting around the glow of your tree, while reflecting on the past year. Honor your successes…failures… lessons… and consider how you'd like to show up in the year to come. The Winter Solstice provides the perfect backdrop for this ritual. As we wander the woods on this chilly morning, begin to ponder all the ways you'll honor the flame within. What am I reading?Winter Solstice by Rosamunde PilcherYule: A Celebration of Light and Warmth by Dorothy Morrison What's playing on repeat?A Charlie Brown Christmas Album by Vince Guaraldi What's for dinner?Potato, Fennel, Lemon & Dill Soup with Miso, and SauerkrautINGREDIENTS:450g Small Waxy Potatoes, roughly chopped into bite size chunks.1 White Onion finely sliced.1 Bulb Fennel finely sliced.200g Cooked Butterbeans500ml Water2tbsp White Miso50ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus extra to drizzle1 Large Lemon, juice and Zest, plus extra wedges to serve.80ml Kefir (or yogurt, buttermilk or sour cream)Good Crack Black Pepper4tbsp Sauerkraut2tbsp Dill, finely chopped, plus extra to serve.INSTRUCTIONS:Heat the oil over a medium heat in a large pan and add the onion and fennel. That is the opinion of 90% of the population!Read my Blog: The Mass is always wrong (see link at the end). The Vedanta says: When you have the choice between the Good or the Comfortable, chose the Good, because the Comfortable is evil! When I like to improve the health of other people I run against walls because the attitude is almost, it doesn't taste good, I can not eat that!Through our childhood, we got condition what tastes good and what tastes bad… For instance the Chilies in Asia. Western people can't eat food with so many Chilies. In Chilies are the poison Capsaicin, that harms our stomach, intestine, bladder, and kidneys. Chilies can even irritate our skin when we get these spicy chilies paste on our skin. And that you eat??? In Germany is a proverb: Medicine is bitter and disease is worse! The old traditional Tibetan, Chinese, Thai or Ayurveda medicine taste terrible and so the people don't like to take them. Even these traditional medicine can be the best remedy. What taste bad must be bad?How can I convince the people to take pro-biotic as a fermented vegetable, (try the Korean Kimchi or fermented beetroot, mushrooms… ) or Kefir every day? What not taste well is not good…?Today, the health statistics show us: 30% of the people have cancer25% severe heart problems25% diabetesThe industrially produced food is mainly responsible for our deteriorating health. The diabetes is caused by 100% from consuming industrial food. And cancer would be under 5% if the people would eat healthy food; similarly is true for the heart diseases. What taste well is good? The industrial food like the white sugar, oil, and special spices makes us addicted to eating even more of these poison food. The pharmaceutic industry is involved in the production of the industrially processed food. First, the pharmaceutic industry poisons us with their ingredients in the industrially processed food and then we need their medicine. The Allopathic medicine, produced from the pharmaceutic industry poison our body. The best results from that medicine are to shift the symptoms from an unhealthy organ to a healthy organ, that at the end nothing is gained. The vaccines are designed to make us chronicle ill.The people think the Allopathic medicine doesn't taste bad, so this medicine must be better than our traditional medicine?! The Mass is always wrong! If we condition our body, mind, and feelings to enjoy healthy food, after some time we will enjoy it. Because the taste is habitual conditioned, we can change our taste! For instance: I eat for nearly 30 years only raw cost and fermented vegetable. I was growing up with meat and all this other poison food. After many baby steps, I condition myself to live a healthy lifestyle and that everybody should do so. Slowly, improve your habits, -you have time. If we go fast forward to a healthy lifestyle, we will have terrible setbacks. Only if we have to improve fast our lifestyle, we can do so.As the parents, you have one of the most difficult tasks to condition your child to adapt to a healthy lifestyle. What You learned as a child, you will rather not forget! The history of fermented foods like beer, bread, and other foods can be traced back thousands of years to ancient civilizations in China and Egypt. This ancient technology was originally used to preserve foods when refrigeration was not an option. While less common in modern industrialized civilizations, we're now realizing that fermented foods play a major role in gut microbiome diversity, which is a biomarker for overall health. Join our conversation with Dr. John Leech, Technologist at Teagasc in County Cork, Ireland to learn all about the history and how cutting-edge technologies are being applied to research in food fermentation. John shares his story of how he found this field of research and how he's now headlong into striving to understand and harness the power of fermented foods. We learn about the complex microbial communities that define and deliver the health benefits of these foods, but we also hear about how this biological complexity makes them inherently irreproducible. Foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, tepache, milk kefir, and water kefir are produced from fermentation, facilitated by complex communities of microbes. Consumption of fermented foods can alter our gut microbiome, which has been shown to affect obesity, inflammation, longevity, and efficacy of drug treatments. John and his team are using qPCR, NGS, and other methods to characterize the microbial consortia used to produce these foods. They're now working to figure out how to simplify the consortium while still delivering health benefits, all while making the process reproducible and scalable Subscribe to get future episodes as they drop and if you like what you're hearing we hope you'll share a review or recommend the series to a colleague. A mysterious white substance found on the heads and necks of 3,600-year-old mummies in north-western China has just been identified as the world's oldest known cheese. Published in the journal Cell, this discovery offers a rare glimpse into the dietary practices of ancient civilisations. The mummies were actually unearthed two decades ago in the Tarim Basin desert and thanks to the regions dry, desert environment they were remarkably well-preserved. Along with their boots and hats, a structure that looked like a necklace was laid along the neck of one young woman. While it looked like a piece of jewellery, recent DNA tests revealed that the substance was in fact kefir cheese. Kefir cheese is a probiotic soft cheese made from cow and goat milk. The kefir contained bacterial and fungal species, including Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens and Pichia kudriavzevii, both of which are still found in modern kefir grains. This discovery marks the oldest known cheese sample ever found and provides a valuable opportunity for researchers to understand more about the diets and cultures of our ancestors. The research not only reveals insights into early food production methods, but also helps track the evolution of probiotic bacteria over the last 3,600 years. Further analysis revealed that the L. kefiranofaciens grains found in the cheese were closely related to similar grains from Tibet. By sequencing the bacterial genes, researchers could trace how dairy products and animal husbandry practices evolved across East Asia, shedding light on the interactions between ancient humans and their environment. The Xiaohe people, from what is now Xinjiang, buried items of significance alongside their dead, and the inclusion of kefir cheese indicates the importance of this food in their daily lives. These foods are promoted as healthy, but after watching this, you'll never eat them again! Find out about the 7 foods you should never eat. 1. Granola bars Nature Valley granola bars contain bioengineered food ingredients, which means they're GMO. GMO foods contain glyphosate, an herbicide linked to cancer. Granola bars also contain sugar (probably beet sugar), seed oils, and refined starches. One Nature Valley granola bar serving contains almost 7 teaspoons of sugar! 2. Agave syrup This sweetener is often considered diabetic or keto-friendly because it's low on the glycemic index. Agave is 85% fructose, which the liver must process. The liver treats fructose the same way as alcohol—like a toxin! 3. Flavored yogurt You probably wouldn't consider flavored yogurt as junk food because it's marketed as a healthy, convenient probiotic rich in calcium and protein. At 30 grams of sugar per serving, most flavored yogurts have more sugar than a candy bar! Many probiotics in flavored yogurt won't even survive your stomach acid. Look for whole-fat yogurt, Bulgarian yogurt, or Greek yogurt without the added sugar. Kefir is an even better option and has significantly more friendly bacteria. 4. Non-dairy creamers Non-dairy creamers are often considered a healthy alternative to milk but contain unhealthy ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, glucose syrup, maltodextrin, and trans fats. Check the ingredients to ensure they don't contain soy, corn, canola, or cottonseed oil. It's best to just use regular cream or half-and-half. 5. Soy milk Soy products like soy milk can cause estrogenic effects like the development of breast tissue in men. Soy milk is not really milk at all! 6. Fast-food lettuce Dressings on fast-food salads contain seed oils, trans fats, hidden starches, and high fructose corn syrup. Fast-food lettuce is coated in a preservative called sodium bisulfite and rinsed in a chlorine wash. 7. Puffed cereals/rice cakes A chemist who worked for Quaker studied rats and noticed they would die after being fed puffed cereal. Many articles are popping up about reasons you should consume kefir, but few of the people writing the articles have consumed kefir every day for twenty-three years. This post specifically talks about milk kefir and not water kefir. My reasons for drinking kefir are very personal and specific to me. More and more research is being conducted around the gut microbiome than ever before, proving what generations of Julie Smolyansky's, CEO of Lifeway, ancestors already knew. The secret to good health and nourishing yourself from within is to drink their sacred recipe of kefir, a cultured dairy product, which has been passed down for over 2000 years. A child of Soviet immigrants, Julie and her family immigrated to Chicago where Julie's father founded Lifeway in 1986, becoming the first Soviet immigrant to take a company public. After the sudden and tragic death of her father at the age of 55, Julie took over the company at just 27 years old. When she was forced to prove herself over and over again and stand up to those who didn't believe in her, Julie held her head high and knew it was her job to carry on what her father had started. With Julie's leadership, Lifeway grew from $6 million to just under $200 million and is the leading kefir brand in the United States today. Thanks for listening! In this podcast, I'm going to tell you how to improve your sleep quality for your best, restful sleep. To do this, you need to optimize the hormone melatonin. Boosting melatonin is great for better sleep, but you also want to avoid the things that inhibit melatonin. If the temperature is 75 or warmer in your room when you sleep, you will have significantly lower melatonin. Keep the temperature between 60 and 69 to optimize melatonin for your best sleep. Sleeping after consuming a large meal can interfere with your sleep. If you're doing intermittent fasting, try having your first meal at breakfast and your last meal at lunchtime. Avoid blue light in the evening because it suppresses melatonin. Try increasing sun exposure during the day, which provides vitamin D and also helps build up melatonin. EMF waves, caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, medications, high-carb diets, and exercise before bed inhibit melatonin. Avoid these things for better sleep. Try these 5 foods to boost melatonin and improve sleep quality: 1. Tart cherries contain melatonin and tryptophan, which turns into serotonin and then melatonin. Research has shown that tart cherry consumption increases sleep for some people by 84 minutes! 2. Kiwis contain serotonin, a precursor to melatonin. One study found that people who consumed 2 kiwis per day for 4 weeks had a significant improvement in quality of sleep, length of sleep, the time it takes to fall asleep, and the feeling of being refreshed upon waking. 3. Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and trout boost melatonin. 4. Kefir is similar to yogurt but has even more microbes. Try blending it with berries, which are rich in polyphenols for better sleep. 5. Sauerkraut contains microbes and tryptophan to help improve your sleep. Cabbage also increases the neurotransmitter GABA, which helps calm you down. Focusing on slow breathing through your nose can also improve sleep. Today, I'm going to share some of the amazing benefits of dry fasting and water fasting. There are over 50 genes that protect us from famine and drought and produce many health benefits. Fasting can help you lose weight, burn fat, and live longer. It helps improve cardiovascular health and can improve your blood sugars. A study involving birds compared birds who ate food and drank water, birds who only drank water, and birds who were essentially dry fasting as they flew across the desert. The group of dry-fasting birds generated 6 times more water than the group of birds that drank water! The dry-fasting birds also burned more fat. When fat is burned with oxygen from the air, it turns into water. The idea that we need massive amounts of water was developed from a campaign that terrified us of dehydration! You don't need to overdo it with water; you just need to drink when you're thirsty. Dry fasting is a useful tool for weight loss, but you want to ensure you do it correctly for the most fasting benefits. Follow a low-carb diet for a while before trying dry fasting. Once your body is adapted to fat burning, you'll find that fasting is much easier. Try water fasting before attempting dry fasting. If you're water fasting, you can consume water, electrolytes, supplements, and sea salt. If you're dry fasting, you don't consume anything. One day of dry fasting is equal to three days of water fasting! Dry fasting turns off digestion and allows the kidneys time to rest, allowing your body to switch into repair mode. After your fast, begin eating gradually. Kefir and bone broth are good choices to break your fast. Andy, Praz and Oleg discuss all the pertinent issues with the Cubs like the return of Matt Mervis, Nicky Two Strikes, Ian Happ's return to the lineup, Kyle Hendricks' phantom back injury and Boog's fascination with Mike Tauchman. But then they put their big throbbing brains together and come up with a series of initiatives that will toughen the Cubs up and forge them into a true championship contender. The ideas are brilliant and the Cubs can easily monetize them, which is all they care about. Then the podcast becomes probiotic talk as Andy discusses the very liquid reason why there was only one newsletter and no podcast last week, and if the good folks at Bucee's or Kefir are listening, there's a sponsorship opportunity in the offing, with the kind of appreciative testimonial that money just can't buy. Oh, and the name they couldn't remember at the end? Barkevious Mingo. Don't Google him. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/desipio/message

In this podcast, I'm going to show you how to fall asleep fast with a simple sleep technique. First, let's take a look at the reasons why you might be having trouble getting to sleep. 1. Overtraining or too much exercise causes the sympathetic nervous system to go up, keeping your adrenaline high and preventing sleep. 2. If your room is too hot, it can interfere with your sleep quality. 3. High carb consumption and stress deplete vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 is essential for the parasympathetic nervous system, so a deficiency will keep you up at night. Try taking vitamin B1 before bed for better sleep. 4. Too much caffeine is a common cause of poor sleep. 5. Poor gut health can inhibit good sleep. Kefir as a probiotic can help! 6. Insulin resistance inhibits the absorption of tryptophan, a precursor to melatonin. This can interfere with your ability to fall asleep fast. 7. Some people have trouble sleeping after being on keto or the carnivore diet for a long period of time. This is because their insulin is very low. Try having a cup of berries with your last meal to fix this problem. 8. Sodium deficiency can cause problems with your sleep. This can be caused by fasting, OMAD (one meal a day), or not adding enough sodium to your diet. Low sodium can cause your sympathetic nervous system to go up which can keep you from sleeping. If you want to know how to fall asleep instantly, try this simple sleep technique! You're going to breathe in a way that synchronizes your heartbeat and blood pressure to the rhythm of your breathing. This will help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing sleep very quickly. Try practicing with a timer first! Breathe in for 5 ½ seconds and breathe out for 5 ½ seconds. This will give you about 5 ½ breaths per minute. When doing this technique, breathe through your nose, and within minutes you will fall asleep.
In this podcast, we're going to look at the root causes of inflammation and the best natural remedies for inflammation. Here are 10 common causes of inflammation. 1. Gluten consumption and food allergies Gluten can lead to a leaky gut, a condition where food particles leak through the small intestine. Leaky gut is one of the most common causes of inflammation. Pinpointing a food allergy can also help clear up gut inflammation. 2. Ultra-processed food ingredients Ultra-processed foods like synthetic sugars, modified food starches, and seed oils go through several industrial processes to the point that they no longer resemble their original form. These foods cause free-radical damage and inflammation in the body. 3. Viruses Viruses can go in and out of remission, causing inflammatory conditions that come and go. This is often triggered by stress which increases your cortisol levels, suppressing your immune system. Viruses can also block vitamin D. 4. Insulin resistance Frequent eating and carb consumption leads to insulin resistance. Most of the population is insulin-resistant. 5. Lack of cortisol Chronic stress over a long period and medications like Prednisone can lead to cortisol resistance. 6. Old injuries Lack of movement and a sedentary lifestyle can lead to inflammation. 7. Sludge in bile ducts Without adequate bile salts, bile sludge can back up into the liver causing right shoulder pain and rhomboid pain. This can be corrected by a healthy diet. 8. Too much iron This is typically caused by a genetic issue and is more common in men. 9. Hypoxia Conditions like COPD, cirrhosis of the liver, clogged arteries, and sleep apnea can cause hypoxia—a lack of oxygen. 10. Uric acid Uric acid is one of the most common causes of high blood pressure and comes from high fructose consumption. Here are the best remedies for inflammation: •Kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, or a probiotic •Vitamin D3 •Intermittent fasting and periodic prolonged fasting •Cruciferous vegetables and salads •Keto diet •Carnivore diet •TUDCA •Tocotrienols •Cold therapy •Stretching and exercise •Omega-3 fatty acids (cod liver oil, sardines, salmon)
