Hello faithful listeners (in hopes that there is more than one) and welcome to episode 117 of Just One of the Guys, the Green Lantern podcast covering all things Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner. Mostly Kyle Rayner, as Guy is woefully sans comic appearances at the time. But he and his bar, Warriors, is name dropped in the latest issue, #117, which involves Kyle having his first big gallery showing of his art, a tussle with a reactivated Manhunter robot, and an appearance of a former girlfriend that will put Kyle and Jade's relationship on the outs. No spoilers, but her name rhymes with Tronna Doy... And I continue my catch up look at the Green Lantern Annuals from this period by covering Green Lantern Annual #6, a part of the Pulp Heroes event DC did that year. Kyle buys a painting with a very John Carter: Warlord of Mars feel and magically gets sucked into the world of the painting. As you do...There he turns into a swashbuckling swordsman on a quest to save the world from destruction. It's a great story by Ron Marz, with exceptional art from Jeff Johnson that I hope you'll really enjoy. So, unless you want to see the comic's deleted scenes involving Radu and Simone, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks!
