Try the BibleACTS app!: https://bibleacts.goodbarber.app Or try Online Bible College here: https://5lxiiva.pushpress.com/open/interested In this episode, we examine 2 Samuel 11, one of the most sobering passages in the life of King David. A man described elsewhere as “a man after God's own heart” falls into a devastating chain of sin that begins with a moment of compromise and leads to adultery, deception, and ultimately murder. In this verse-by-verse Bible study, we explore: Why David stayed behind in Jerusalem while his army went to war How small moments of spiritual negligence can open the door to major sin The progression from temptation to adultery with Bathsheba David's attempts to cover his sin by manipulating Uriah The tragic decision that led to Uriah's death What this passage teaches about the deceitfulness of sin Why even the most faithful believers must guard their hearts 2 Samuel 11 reminds us that no one is above temptation, and that sin often grows through a series of small compromises rather than one sudden decision. But it also prepares us for the powerful story of repentance and restoration that follows in David's life. If you want to understand how spiritual leaders fall, how sin progresses, and how believers can guard themselves against similar traps, this passage offers critical wisdom. Paul and Silas are beaten, imprisoned, and placed in stocks — yet at midnight they are praying and singing hymns to God. What happens next changes everything. In this teaching, we explore: Why gratitude and praise must become a lifestyle — not just a reaction The power of worship in the middle of suffering How God uses faithful praise to impact others The dramatic conversion of the Philippian jailer “What must I do to be saved?” — the simplicity of the gospel Why Paul confronted the magistrates about their unlawful beating What this passage teaches about how Christians should respond to political authority and injustice If you're walking through difficulty, wrestling with injustice, or wondering how your faith impacts those around you, this passage is for you. Send a textMark Osborne is the host of The Valiant Forge, a podcast created for Christian men who want to grow in their faith through honest, grounded conversation. His work centers on biblical masculinity, spiritual leadership, and the quiet battles men often fight alone. Mark's story includes a late-life wake-up call marked by a health scare, depression, and a season of spiritual dryness that led to a renewed faith and restored marriage. That season reshaped how he understands manhood, obedience, and what it means to lead with humility and courage. He approaches conversations not as an expert, but as a fellow traveler, speaking openly about fatherhood, failure, emotional health, addiction recovery, forgiveness, and Scripture lived out in everyday life. Mark brings a steady, thoughtful presence and values discussions that go deeper than surface-level answers, always pointing back to Christ with honesty and grace. When you're co-writing something that springs so directly from Bobby Lee's comedic voice, how do you balance honoring that raw unpredictability while still building a story with emotional stakes and structure? Valiant Beyond: X-O Manowar (out Feb 18) In Valiant Beyond: X-O Manowar, Aric joins the PunX after millennia of isolation, and suddenly honor is tied to community rather than conquest. How has it been carving out your own corner of the Valiant universe? Good Bones Good Bones gathers your horror work into a single anthology, and many of the stories explore queer identity through transformation, secrecy, and bodily autonomy. When you write horror rooted in identity, are you consciously using the genre as metaphor, or does that symbolism emerge naturally through character? Dragula (with Todd McFarlane) You co-judged Dragula alongside Todd McFarlane, which feels like a collision of comics horror and performance art. Did that experience teach you anything about spectacle and theatricality, or inspire you when you're comics work? DC AEW DC and AEW both thrive on spectacle, but they also rely heavily on character-driven drama and long-term storytelling. When writing DC x AEW #1, how did you balance the over-the-top, live-event energy with making sure the character pairings felt emotionally and thematically right, rather than just fun visual mashups? Scarlet Witch Can you talk about or tease the status of Wanda and Vision's relationship as of now? Agatha Harkness is your main antagonist in Sorcerer Supreme, what makes her fun to write? Agatha is the Vishanti's chosen sorcerer supreme, I was curious if you're drawing from any personal life experience having someone be picked over you when writing this story arc? Your run on Scarlet Witch has been released via miniseries, are there advantages (and disadvantages) to this format? Wanda Maximoff has worn a lot of labels over the years—Avenger, sorceress, reality shaper, occasional cosmic wildcard. How do you personally view her place in that ecosystem? Additional General Questions Your bibliography moves fluidly between superhero epics, indie horror, licensed work, and now chaotic comedy with Deadweight. How do you recalibrate your voice between projects without losing what makes a story feel unmistakably yours?

Peut-on vivre éternellement ? We break down every piece of the finance, from enterprise value vs. equity value, what a price target of zero really means, and the real-world fraud parallels to Enron, Valiant, and Luckin Coffee. We also discuss why Tender's "convertible bond" is actually a putable bond (a la Succession Season 1). Meanwhile, Whitney's relationship with Henry takes some deeply unsettling turns, and cracks in Tender's armor start showing from directions nobody expected. What does it mean to stand in total darkness and become a beacon for others? On September 11, 2001, former U.S. Secret Service agent Darin Kinder was inside the World Trade Center complex when the towers fell. He ran from collapsing buildings, guided desperate people toward light in pitch-black debris clouds, and survived one of history's darkest days. But this episode isn't just a 9/11 survival story.Twenty-four years later, Darin shares how that trauma became the backdrop for discovering true purpose, healing through obedience, and a lifelong vow: to live (and one day be buried) in a “dirty suit”—sleeves rolled up, getting into the mess of life for God's glory instead of staying clean and comfortable. In this powerful conversation, Darin opens up about:The moment he stood in an alley amid screams and dust, calling strangers to safety—and the spiritual metaphor he only saw 10 years laterWhy stuffing down pain doesn't work, and how sharing his story brought unexpected healingThe three core traits he's instilling in his four sons (and every man listening): integrity, courage, and compassionProtecting marriage and family during high-stakes seasons (including post-9/11 chaos)His promise to God after seeing “clean suits” vs. “dirty suits” on 9/11—and why he wants every man to reject a passive, shiny lifeIf you're a leader, father, husband, or man feeling the pull toward deeper purpose, this episode is your rallying cry.--Are you struggling to discover your true identity? We explain why Scripture forbids placing new believers into leadership, and why time is required to prove character, consistency, and spiritual maturity. Leadership in the church is not about gifting or excitement — it is about tested faithfulness over time. In this episode, we discuss: What Paul means by “not a novice” Why spiritual maturity requires time, not talent How pride and premature leadership can lead to downfall Why a leader's reputation among unbelievers matters The necessity of consistent godly character both inside and outside the church Why leadership must be affirmed beyond one's immediate community This episode is essential for: Pastors and elders Aspiring leaders and ministry workers Churches evaluating leadership biblically Believers who want to understand God's standards for leadership Subscribe for more verse-by-verse Bible teaching, biblical theology, and clear conversations on church leadership and discipleship. #1Timothy3 #ChurchLeadership #BiblicalQualifications #BibleTeaching #ChristianPodcast #PastoralLeadership #AboveReproach

We focus especially on: Why church leaders must not be greedy, covetous, or dependent on donations The importance of faithful, honest work outside the church What Scripture means by providing for your own household How a man is to rule his home well, including leadership toward his wife What it means to keep children in submission with dignity and care Why a man who cannot lead his home cannot lead the church This episode explains why these qualifications exist — not as ideals, but as prerequisites — and how ignoring them damages churches, families, and the witness of the gospel. This teaching is especially important for: Pastors and elders Small-group and ministry leaders Men aspiring to leadership in the church Churches seeking biblical clarity on leadership standards Subscribe for more verse-by-verse Bible teaching, biblical theology, and honest conversations about church leadership. #1Timothy3 #ChurchLeadership #BiblicalQualifications #ChristianPodcast #BibleTeaching #PastoralLeadership #AboveReproach

GO HERE for our Online Bible College: https://5lxiiva.pushpress.com/open/interested In this episode, we begin teaching through 1 Timothy 3, focusing on just the first two verses — and they carry massive implications for church leadership today. We discuss why the qualifications for overseers (pastors) in 1 Timothy 3 are prerequisites, not suggestions, and why Scripture does not present them as general goals to “grow into.” If a man does not meet these qualifications, he should not be a pastor — and should not even be leading a small group. In this episode, we explain: Why Paul lists qualifications before discussing duties The danger of lowering biblical standards for leadership How ignoring these qualifications harms churches and believers Why character always comes before gifting What this means for pastors, leaders, and churches today This episode is essential listening for: Pastors and ministry leaders Small group leaders Church members evaluating leadership biblically Anyone serious about following Scripture, not trends Subscribe for more verse-by-verse Bible teaching, theology, and practical Christian leadership conversations.
