AI demand for GPUs is exploding – and most of that capacity is locked inside underused data centers. In this episode, I talk with Mark from Aethir, a decentralized GPU cloud that aggregates idle, enterprise-grade GPUs into a global network. We discuss how Aethir feels like AWS on the front end but works like “Airbnb for data centers” behind the scenes, why compute demand outpaces supply, and how they keep latency low across 90+ countries.Mark also explains Aethir's token and revenue model, their work with EigenLayer, and why he believes solo founders now have superpowers in an AI-native world.Nothing in this episode is financial or investment advice.Key timestamps[00:00:00] Intro: Sam introduces Mark and Aethir's decentralized GPU cloud.[00:01:00] Mark's journey: From oil and gas infra and biotech to building GPU infrastructure for AI.[00:04:00] What Aethir is: AWS-style GPU cloud on the front end, “Airbnb for data centers” on the back end.[00:06:00] Enterprise-only GPUs: Why they only use data-center-grade hardware and no consumer devices.[00:07:00] Exploding demand: GPU demand 6–8x supply, with inference-heavy apps driving the next wave.[00:14:00] Global coverage: 90+ countries and routing users to nearby nodes for low latency.[00:31:00] Business model: 20% protocol fee, 80% to GPU hosts, plus token rewards and staking for large clusters.[00:39:00] Solo founder era: Why one-person AI-native companies will be extremely powerful.[00:41:00] Mark's message: Focus on projects with strong fundamentals and keep building through cycles.Connecthttp://aethir.com/https://www.linkedin.com/company/aethir-limited/https://x.com/AethirCloudhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/markrydon/https://x.com/MRRydonDisclaimerNothing mentioned in this podcast is investment advice and please do your own research. It would mean a lot if you can leave a review of this podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and share this podcast with a friend.Get featuredBe a guest on the podcast or contact us – https://www.web3pod.xyz/

Episode 336 In an unlikely turn of events, orcas and dolphins have been observed teaming up - to hunt and kill massive chinook salmon in the pacific. Given that orcas sometimes prey on dolphins, what's going on? Despite the promising signs of cooperation between these two species, there may be something less heartwarming at play. We dig into the findings and discuss other surprising ways animals cooperate with each other. From schizophrenia to bipolar disease, autism to OCD, many mental conditions are classified into different categories. But in the largest study of its kind, it's been discovered that 14 different disorders fall into just five genetic groups. The finding could explain why people are often diagnosed with multiple psychiatric conditions at once - and bring comfort to those who are. Could it also help us find better treatments? Exploding stars might be to thank for our very existence. It's thought that supernovae may spew out the heavy elements required for the creation of planets and the emergence of life. A new model shows this is possible - and may help us figure out where to look next for alien life. Could this open up a new field of cosmic ecology? Plus, news of a strange new kind of star from the James Webb Telescope. Black hole stars may explain a running mystery about odd galaxies spotted by the telescope, called little red dots.  Hosted by Rowan Hooper and Penny Sarchet, with guests Alec Luhn, Michael Le Page and Alex Wilkins. Ross welcomes Gaetano DiNardi, growth advisor and B2B SaaS strategist, to unpack the brutal questions CEOs are suddenly firing at their SEO teams in the AI era: traffic is flat or down, attribution is messy, LLM dashboards look scary, and everyone wants to know if SEO is still “working.” They dig into why traffic is no longer the primary health metric, how AI Overviews and LLMs are breaking the old “rank → CTR → traffic → leads → revenue” equation, and why CMOs should obsess less over sessions and more over demo requests, pipeline, deal size, and overall organic channel performance. Gaetano shares how he's reframing SEO for mid-market B2B SaaS: shifting from decaying top-of-funnel content to bottom-of-funnel “money pages,” optimizing for LLM citations and “money prompts,” and using concepts like “crash-the-party” comparison pages to win high-intent demand across both Google and AI platforms. They also break down why LLM prompt tracking is the new rank tracking (with all the same pitfalls), how AI platform traffic actually converts compared to Google, what “dark funnel SEO” looks like in practice, and why Gaetano thinks classic TOFU SEO might effectively go to zero while brand, data studies, and opinionated thought leadership pick up the slack. Show Notes0:08 – Gaetano returns & why last year's SEO playbook no longer works1:17 – CEOs' top question: “Traffic is down… is SEO still working?”2:17 – Why B2B SaaS is feeling the decline hardest3:16 – The old rank → CTR → traffic → revenue model is broken5:46 – Top-of-funnel content is collapsing (and why TOFU is “dead-ish”)6:13 – The shift to bottom-funnel: BOFU keywords, low volume, high intent7:11 – Flat traffic + rising revenue: the new SEO success story8:01 – What LLMs cite: comparisons, “best X” lists, crash-the-party pages8:38 – Crash-the-party SEO explained in 15 seconds13:21 – LLM prompt dashboards are misleading your executives15:53 – Branded vs. non-branded LLM prompts: why you MUST separate them18:06 – Build a tight list of “money prompts,” not 500 random ones20:06 – Why AI platforms show higher conversion rates than Google22:10 – Dark-funnel behavior: LLM → Google → homepage → convert 24:08 – Google leads have FAR larger deal sizes than AI leads27:35 – SEO attribution is officially “cooked” in the AI era29:27 – Traffic flat, pipeline up 3×: examples from real clients31:25 – Use top-10 stability to prove AI Overviews stole your clicks34:47 – Search is becoming BOFU-first — what that means35:34 – LLM citations as the new leading indicator for SEO39:00 – Exploding topics = more LLM citations due to low consensus41:22 – Engagement validates information gain (why POV content wins)47:20 – What happens to TOFU SEO? Alan Manning, a professor at the London School of Economics, explains the complexities of immigration policy and the challenges of balancing migration capacity with global inequality. Nick and Alan discuss various policy approaches, including temporary protection measures and the need for international cooperation, while criticising overly simplistic solutions and highlighting the importance of realistic immigration policies.Political charlatans such as Nigel Farage mis-sold Brexit claiming it would help the uK "take back control" of its borders. Ironically, they may helped helped create huge increases in net immigration in recent years, as well as encourage the small boats bringing asylum seekers across the Channel from France. How about a high-Q blowout from Other Ryan's garage, where the ongoing parade of attempts to get a junkyard manifold to align with a junkyard 5.9 (hey, $400 with a set of equal-lengths can't be all bad) turns into a great piece of show.  From tales of how the usually dependable 5.9 lump could go from power to just POW, Freiburger's motorhomes and Péwé's Jeeps, professional drivers and drifters, and tanks buried all over Europe, to Nayr Zedlav and Nutsij Trof's thoughts on getting the dissimilar surfaces in an engine to mate up...  You'll probably learn something - sorry about that. In addition, there's the return of Pizza Port's coincidental Chronic Amber, some weird rock from "The Shining", frosty mugs, Hugh Mearns, Edgar Allen Poe and Ed Gorey.

Fifty-five years ago this very month, The Highway Commission (Devision? Whatever) of the State of Oregon had a really, really bad idea. An idea that never should have made it out of the room, but somehow, it did. And thank God, a reporter and a news crew got down there to capture the calamity in real time, and then the internet was invented, and youtube, and now we can all watch this whenever we want. And trust us, you want. Once thought to be the stuff of urban legend, we now know that, yes, they blew up a fucking whale. Emily also tries a strange snack, more nostalgic snacks are discussed, and there's a cat. Enjoy!

We get into: Predator sibling beef Elle Fanning playing two androids (one sweet, one corporate demon) Found-family wolf-pack metaphors The baby callous creature who is basically Hazel in CGI form Weyland-Yutani being idiots… again And the controversial PG-13 “Disney-fication” of Predator This one is shockingly heartfelt, visually bonkers, and absolutely primed for a sequel.
