Die Okraschote - auch Ladyfinger genannt - ist ein ganz besonderes Gemüse. Ein regelrechter Tausendsassa in der Küche, denn sie trägt ungemein vielfältige Aromen in sich und kann deshalb kulinarisch ganz unterschiedlich zum Einsatz kommen. Vor allem in arabischen, asiatischen und afrikanischen Ländern wird sie als Gemüse verzehrt. Die Frucht der Okra ist eine kleine grüne Schote, die bis zu 20 Zentimeter groß werden kann und einen zarten Flaum besitzt. Im Rezept unseres Genussforschers Prof. Thomas Vilgis trifft sie auf Birne und Zwiebel – diese kontrastieren und harmonieren zugleich bestens mit der Okraschote. Skrei mit Okra und Mozzarella-Birne ist unsere Gastroempfehlung diese Woche – eine Delikatesse für alle, die den Winterkabeljau lieben und die Okraschote neu entdecken wollen. Mit etwas Glück lässt sie sich übrigens auch bei uns anbauen und gut einfrieren.

Hope you guys had a happy Hallmark Day on the 14th! For our special February Feels episode Sweety & Pappu dive deep to bring you some truth nuggets about Radical Self Love. This episode has been a tough one for us because both of us have had an arduous journey towards self-love. Pappu gets down to the root of it, to deliver a definition of ‘love’ that all of us could use (with help from bell hooks). According to bell hooks the word ‘love’ is often described as a noun, but it should rather be used as a verb. Sweety is close at hand to offer her tried and tested 4-step radical self-love rituals that have helped her after years of therapy.
