Produceras av More Than Words Hosted on Acast. Lessons in Longevity: Debunking NAD and Cellular Health with Dr. Tiffany Libby of Niagen Bioscience

In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Dr. Tiffany Libby for a clear, science-forward conversation on supplements, cellular energy, and why NAD biology has become such a focal point in modern longevity discussions. As interest in “aging better” grows, this episode cuts through hype to explore what NAD optimization can—and cannot—realistically do for skin and whole-body health.Dr. Libby brings a rare perspective to the conversation. As a board-certified dermatologist and Director of Mohs Surgery at Brown University Health, her work spans both skin cancer care and cosmetic dermatology, treating patients across decades of life. That long view has shaped her understanding of longevity not as youth preservation, but as maintaining resilience, repair capacity, and function over time—especially in the face of inflammation, environmental stress, and chronic disease.Much of the discussion centers on why supplements, particularly NAD boosters, are having a cultural moment. Dr. Libby explains that this surge reflects a gap in the healthcare system itself—one that prioritizes treatment over prevention. While supplements can offer support, she emphasizes they are not shortcuts. Longevity still rests on fundamentals: sleep, nutrition, movement, stress regulation, and inflammation control. The episode offers a practical breakdown of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), explaining its role in mitochondrial energy production, DNA repair, and cellular defense. As NAD levels decline with age, skin becomes less efficient at repairing damage, producing collagen, and maintaining barrier integrity. Crucially, Dr. Libby explains why NAD itself can't be absorbed directly—and why precursors like nicotinamide riboside (NR) matter instead.Throughout the conversation, skepticism and safety remain central themes. In an underregulated supplement space, quality, dosing, and clinical validation matter. From a dermatologic standpoint, supporting mitochondrial health may help skin function closer to its biological potential—but only when paired with evidence-based care and realistic expectations.Listen to the full episode of Skin Anarchy to hear Dr. Tiffany Libby unpack the science of NAD, cellular energy, and why longevity begins with supporting biology—not chasing promises.SHOP TRU NIAGENDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!Support the show

In this episode, the host converses with Dr. Jesse Morse, a physician specializing in regenerative and anti-aging medicine. They delve into the intricacies of stem cells and their various sources, including bone marrow, fat, and donor tissue.  Dr. Morse highlights the role of exosomes and growth factors in the healing process. The discussion also focuses on the prevention and treatment of Achilles tendon tears, emphasizing the importance of blood supply, proper diagnosis, and innovative therapies. Additionally, they explore the benefits and applications of various peptides, including BPC 157, TB 500, and MotC, for enhancing healing, anti-aging, and overall health. Dr. Morse also addresses the significance of nutrition and detoxification in maintaining optimal health and preventing injuries. Dr. Jesse Morse is a Miami-based, double board-certified physician in Family and Sports Medicine who specializes in regenerative medicine, injury recovery, and longevity. Since shifting from traditional sports medicine in 2020, he has focused on non-surgical approaches to tendon and ligament injuries using therapies like PRP, stem-cell–based treatments, exosomes, and peptides, alongside functional and anti-aging strategies centered on mitochondrial health, immune support, toxin reduction, and personalized recovery—helping everyone from active adults to high-performance athletes restore function and prevent major injuries like Achilles tears while educating widely online. Chad Ryker talks with Erin Butler (AZ Game & Fish Big Game Program Supervisor) about Arizona's elk and pronghorn draw, how non-residents fit into tag allocation, and how to build a smart application strategy. They cover the 20% max-point pass / 80% random draw structure (meaning low-point hunters still have a real shot), highlight over-the-counter/non-permit elk options, and call out common application mistakes. They finish with deadlines, costs, bonus-point “boosters,” and Point Guard options.Key takeawaysAZ draw structure: 20% of tags go to max bonus point holders; 80% are in a random draw, so “everyone has a chance.”Non-resident cap: Typically 10% of tags per hunt can go to non-residents (with rules that keep some NR tags in the random portion).Low-point reality: Many non-residents who draw have low points; random pass can produce surprise “first-year” winners.OTC elk exists: Arizona has non-permit/over-the-counter elk opportunities (including HAM: handgun/archery/muzzleloader), but they're often tough/low success and require research.Big mistakes to avoid: Applying for hunts you're ineligible for (like single-tag hunts as a NR), picking the wrong weapon/season, and assuming longer seasons = better (sometimes longer = harder).Bonus point boosters: Hunter Ed point (permanent) + Loyalty point (apply 5 years straight; miss a year and it resets).Point Guard: Lets you turn back a tag and keep your points (not your money); Point Guard Plus can also put you on a list for turned-back tags.Costs & timing: Need the non-refundable license, then apply per species; elk/pronghorn apps run mid-January to early February (deadline around Feb 3, 11:59 PM). ARIZONA GAME AND FISH DEPARTMENTWebsite - https://www.azgfd.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/azgfd/Resources Draw Videohttps://www.azgfd.com/hunting/hunt-draw-and-licenses/big-game-draw/bonus-point-process/Elk Handout (and we do javelina too)https://www.azgfd.com/hunting/hunt-draw-and-licenses/tags/non-permit-tags/ OUT OF STATE HUNTER@outofstatehunter GOHUNTUse the code OUTOFSTATE when you become an Insider and get $50 in GOHUNT Gear Shop Credithttps://www.gohunt.com ARGALIWebsite -https://argalioutdoors.comInstagram - @argali_official - https://www.instagram.com/argali_official/ KAPTURE GEARWebsite –https://kapturegear.comInstagram - @kapturegear - https://www.instagram.com/kapturegear/  #outofstatehunter #westernhunting #huntplanning #biggamehunting #publiclandhunter #diyhunter #nonresidenthunting #huntstrategy #applicationseason #drawodds #elkseason #deerhunting #couesdeer #backcountryhunting #huntprep #huntersofinstagram #huntingpodcast #huntwest #findopportunity #huntarizona #huntaz

NAD has become one of the most talked-about molecules in longevity medicine—showing up in supplements, IV clinics, lab testing, and bold claims about aging and healthspan. But what does the science actually show?In this episode of The Trip Lab, we take a clear, evidence-based look at NAD and use it as a lens to explore the broader field of longevity medicine. We break down what NAD does in the human body, why it's linked to the hallmarks of aging, and why declining NAD is often a signal of cumulative cellular stress rather than a simple deficiency. We also dive into the realities of NAD testing, the limitations of blood-based biomarkers, and what clinical trials of NR and NMN supplementation have—and have not—demonstrated so far. Along the way, we unpack why longevity research is both exciting and vulnerable to overhype, and why translating aging biology into meaningful human outcomes takes time. This episode is for anyone curious about longevity medicine who wants clarity without hype—and a better framework for thinking about promise versus proof.

Frame control isn't a trick, it's the backbone of masculine presence, and most men destroy attraction without even realizing it by reacting emotionally, explaining themselves, or engaging with the wrong frames. In this episode, Mark shows you how high-value men maintain control by choosing what they engage with and what they ignore, using refusal to engage, strategic ignoring, and no response to shut down tests, flip power dynamics, and build attraction without chasing or qualifying themselves.   Key Takeaways: - Why frame control is the foundation of attraction. - How refusing to engage instantly raises your perceived value. - Why ignoring attraction-killing tests builds more desire than responding. - How no response over text flips the power dynamic in your favor.   Key Timestamps: [00:00:00] – Episode intro and preview [00:00:34] – 2026 message [00:01:48] – Why frame control is everything [00:06:22] – Refuse to engage (RTE) [00:12:10] – Ignore to control the frame (ITC) [00:19:52] – No response (NR) over text [00:22:32] – Advanced texting mind hack [00:26:12] – Episode Outro Connect With Mark: Apply for Mark's 3-Month Coaching Program: https://coachmarksing.com/coaching/ Check Out The Perks Program: https://coachmarksing.com/perks/ Email: CoachMarkSing@Gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coachmarksing/ Grab Mark's Free Program: The Approach Formula - https://www.CoachMarkSing.com/The-Approach-Formula   About The Unapologetic Man Podcast The Unapologetic Man Podcast is your resource for mastering dating, attraction, and relationships from a confident, masculine perspective. Professor Charles Brenner challenges the NAD decline myth and reveals why nicotinamide riboside (NR) works for metabolic stress, not aging. Learn about the Northwestern trial showing NR improved walking speed in peripheral artery disease while metformin failed, eight clinical trials proving anti-inflammatory effects, and why popular biomarker tests are measuring the wrong thing. In this conversation, Dr. Charles Brenner, professor at City of Hope and discoverer of nicotinamide riboside's therapeutic uses, challenges common assumptions about NAD and aging. He explains why blood NAD stays stable throughout life and how metabolic stress - not aging - depletes the NAD system.Dr. Brenner discusses Northwestern University's landmark peripheral artery disease trial where NR improved walking speed while placebo patients declined, why metformin failed the same test, and the eight randomized clinical trials showing NR's anti-inflammatory effects. We explore COVID-19's impact on NAD, why NMN may cause neurodegeneration, optimal NR dosing (300mg-1g daily), and bioavailability questions. He dismantles the biological age testing industry with evidence showing DNA methylation tests measure inflammation, not aging. Learn why Kaiser Permanente ignores trendy biomarkers, which supplements lack safety data, and the evidence-based approach to NAD supplementation for conditions like wound healing, heart failure, and Parkinson's disease.

Are we on the brink of a breakthrough in health aging? A masterclass in NAD+, with Dr Charles Brenner

The MindBodyBrain Project

If you're interested in optimising your healthspan and lifespan, this episode is not to be missed. In the quest for longevity, the spotlight has turned to NAD+ and its precursors, NMN and NR. In this episode featuring Dr. Charles Brenner, a metabolism scientist, we dive deep into the significance of these molecules and their role in healthy aging. You'll discover that NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is not just a trending topic but rather a crucial player in metabolism. Learn why Charles refers to it as the "central jewel of metabolism". In the conversation, the distinction between NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) and NR (Nicotinamide Riboside) is clarified, and you'll discover which of these molecules has the best evidence-base. You'll also find out why some popular ways to increase NAD+ are an expensive waste of time. Dr. Brenner highlights the importance of evidence-based research, citing eight randomised clinical trials demonstrating the anti-inflammatory effects of one of the NAD+ precursors in humans. One significant study focuses on peripheral artery disease (PAD), a condition affecting millions of older adults that can severely impact mobility and quality of life. Ypu'll also disciver why a simple functional test is a way better predictor of longevity than all of the espoensive epigenetic-focused Biological Age tests that are currently on the market. What You'll Learn: The Basics of NAD and Its Functions: Understand the foundational role of NAD in cellular metabolism and how it acts as a transmitter of high-energy electrons needed for energy production and cell functions. Scientific Evidence and Research: Discover the rigor behind the clinical research of NAD and its supplements, like Nicotinamide Riboside (NR), including ongoing trials and results showing anti-inflammatory properties in humans. Controversies and Misconceptions: Unpack the myths concerning longevity molecules, such as misinterpretations around resveratrol, with arguments laid out by reputable scientists like Dr. Brenner. Applications in Age-Related Diseases: Explore the potential of NR supplements in addressing conditions like peripheral artery disease and its promising though variable outcomes in treating Long COVID and neurodegenerative diseases. Critical Analysis of Clinical Trials: Learn about the importance of clinical integrity, unbiased research, and how independent laboratories contribute to credible scientific discoveries. Key Takeaways: NAD is vital for maintaining metabolic health and managing cellular stress, which is essential for healthy aging. Recent clinical trials have shown promising results for NR in reducing inflammation and improving conditions related to peripheral artery disease. There's ongoing research into NR's benefits for cognitive function, particularly its potential effects on neurodegenerative disease. Supplements should be chosen carefully, preferably ones that have been tested in clinical trials to ensure efficacy and authenticity. The conversation between Dr. Taylor and Dr. Brenner highlights the need to critically evaluate scientific claims, especially those that are widely publicised without robust evidence. Through the episode, Dr. Brenner provides deep insights into how NAD coenzymes operate within the body and why they're considered crucial for longevity research. Moreover, listeners are encouraged to discern meticulously between scientific fact and internet hype, ensuring they make informed decisions when considering supplements. The episode is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of biochemistry, aging, and healthspan science. Tava “kafija” mums palīdzēs segt gabaliņu no podkāsta izdevumiem, lai varam to turpināt.Šo epizodi filmējām Power-Up SPACE Rīgas centrā. In this solosode of The Energy Code, Dr. Mike unveils the most comprehensive update yet to BioLight's flagship supplement — BioBlue — and takes listeners deep inside the quantum bioenergetic thinking that shaped its redesign. What began as a methylene-blue-based mitochondrial catalyst has evolved into a next-generation longevity systemintegrating deuterium-depleted water, elevated NMN, taurine, and trace gold-silver resonance compounds.   Dr. Mike breaks down the science and reasoning behind each refinement: why Litewater's 10 ppm deuterium-depleted water now forms the clean matrix for all BioBlue liquids, how NMN has been increased ten-fold (10 mg → 100 mg) to meaningfully expand NAD⁺ pools and drive biogenesis, and how taurine stabilizes mitochondrial membranes and calcium signaling for endurance and resilience. He explains the subtle yet powerful tweaks — like a 50 % increase in colloidal gold and silver and a 40 % reduction in fulvic acid — that sharpen redox coherence and enhance longevity signaling.   Dr. Mike dives into: Overview of how BioBlue progressed from a simple methylene-blue solution to a full mitochondrial optimization system. Why all BioBlue liquids now utilizes Litewater for cleaner proton flow and improved ATP efficiency. Why NMN increased from 10 mg → 100 mg per dose to meaningfully raise NAD⁺ levels, drive biogenesis, and enhance DNA repair. Why the addition of Taurine – 100 mg per serving for membrane stability, calcium regulation, and long-term mitochondrial resilience. Enhanced Trace Elements – 50 % more colloidal gold & silver plus refined fulvic acid for smoother redox flow and higher photodynamic efficiency.   This episode isn't just about formulation — it's about why every molecule matters in the pursuit of mitochondrial efficiency, redox stability, and long-term cellular youthfulness. Mike also previews BioLight's upcoming new website, pre-Black-Friday event, and a soon-to-launch BioBlue Lite product line for those seeking simplicity without compromise.   Key Topics Covered Evolution of BioBlue — from the original methylene blue + NMN formula to a comprehensive mitochondrial optimization system. Integration of Deuterium-Depleted Water (Litewater, 10 ppm) — explanation of how lowering deuterium enhances ATP production, redox efficiency, and longevity potential. NMN Upgrade (10× Increase) — new 100 mg per serving dosage for boosting NAD⁺ levels, mitochondrial biogenesis, DNA repair, and energy metabolism. Addition of Taurine (100 mg per serving) — supports membrane integrity, calcium balance, ROS buffering, and cellular longevity signaling. Enhanced Colloidal Gold & Silver (50 % Increase) — improved redox stability, electron flow, and photodynamic synergy with methylene blue and red light. Refined Wu Jin Sun Fulvic Acid (−40 %) — optimizes redox balance and mineral transport while improving synergy between all active compounds. Comprehensive Mitochondrial Benefits — improved ATP efficiency, autophagy, and mitochondrial biogenesis for cleaner, more resilient energy production. New Product Lineup — introduction of BioBlue Lite and BioBlue Leuco Lite (simplified methylene blue + water versions) for accessible mitochondrial support. Key Quotes from Dr. Mike   “Deuterium-depleted water doesn't just make the mitochondria go faster—it helps them run truer, cleaner, and more efficiently.”   “We've moved BioBlue from a trace metabolic nudge to a real mitochondrial optimization protocol that supports redox cycling, biogenesis, and longevity pathways in a quantifiable way.”   “Taurine turns BioBlue from a fast-acting energy compound into a cellular longevity stack—supporting repair, recycling, and resilience.”   “By increasing colloidal gold and silver within their optimal bio-signal zones, BioBlue transforms from a chemical redox supplement into a biophysical energy transducer.”   “Each change — from Litewater to taurine — was made to help your mitochondria run longer, cleaner, and more accurately. This is longevity through bioenergetics.” Episode Timeline 00:00 – Announcements: Pre-Black Friday + new website 04:00 – The origin of BioBlue and its evolution 10:00 – Introducing the upgraded BioBlue formula 11:00 – Why BioLight partnered with Light Water 12:00 – How deuterium slows mitochondrial ATP production 17:00 – Functional benefits of deuterium-depleted water 19:00 – 10x increase in NMN for energy and repair 27:00 – Synergy between NMN and methylene blue 30:00 – Adding taurine for stability and longevity 39:00 – Increasing colloidal gold for photonic synergy 46:00 – Boosting colloidal silver for redox protection 52:00 – Why lowering fulvic acid improves coherence 56:00 – What's next: BioBlue Light + legacy pricing offer 01:02:00 – Dr. Mike's closing thoughts on mitochondrial optimization Resources & References Deuterium Depletion and Mitochondrial Efficiency Boros, L.
