Stāsta komponists un kontrabasists Kristaps Pētersons; pārraides producente – Rūta Paula Svētdien, 2001. gada 7. janvārī ap 18:30 (vai varbūt 19:00 – nav tik būtiski) līdz 11. septembrim bija tālu. "Mudhoney" [1] intensīvi gatavojās savam 12. janvāra koncertam "Great American Music Hall" Sanfrancisko, Deivs Grols [2] – savai dzimšanas dienas ballītei 14. janvārī, bet flautiste Ilona Meija izpildīja Johana Sebastiāna Baha [3] Badinēriju no orķestra svītas Nr. 2 siminorā, BWV 1067. 00:01 ekonomikas komentētājs un mediju producents Kristaps Pētersons portālā delfi.lv publicēja šādus vārdus: "Tikai izglītība – nekas cits – izvedīs mūs no miglas!" [7]. Es tas neesmu, kas to saka, bet man viņam nākas piekrist. Mazu migliņu tolaik radījām. Mēs smēķējām "Bond", "L&M", "Marlboro", "Camel" – ko nu kurš (un neklausījāmies, kā 2001. gada 7. janvārī ap 18:30 Ilona Meija spēlē Baha Badinēriju – mēs būtu nākuši varbūt, ja to spēlētu kāda ārzemju zvaigzne, bet tad ieeja koncertos būtu jāliek par maksu, nevis par brīvu, kā tas jau no pašiem pirmsākumiem 1991. gadā bija visos Senās mūzikas festivālos Valmierā; un tad tas būtu cits festivāls – tāds, kur spēlē ārzemju zvaigzne, kuras fonā mēs brauktu nopelnīt savu honorāru – tas nebūtu nekas slikts – taču šeit mēs braucām savā brīvajā laikā, spēlējām par brīvu un no sirds [8]). Ilonas Meijas interpretācija [9] noteikti bija tērauda stiprumā, tomēr kaut kas pasaulē bija salūzis, un mēs to nedzirdējām. 2001. gada 7. janvārī pēkšņi līdz 11. septembrim nemaz vairs nebija tālu. Mēs visi esam saistīti, dažkārt tādos veidos, kurus ar prātu grūti aptvert. Šķiet, Bahs savā mūzikā atklāj to stiprāk nekā citi, jo aptverošāk. – mirusi Valmierā 2017. g.), katru gadu festivālam gatavojot vairākas koncertprogrammas gan solo, gan kameransambļiem – savā brīvajā laikā, bez maksas un no sirds. The first two days of the Super 8s are in the books - and aside from the frustrating rain-affected NR between Pakistan and New Zealand there has been some epic results. After an historic T20 WC winning streak India will be primed for a comeback after falling to South Africa to throw Group 1 wide open. The middle order for South Africa were outstanding, and while both teams lost wickets in the Powerplay, it was the South Africans that built better momentum through the middle. Just how important will that 20-odd runs in the final over from Stubbs be in the net-run-rate stakes? India versus the West Indies now shapes as a must-win quarter-final for India. They have the firepower but will need to build back their momentum. Speaking of momentum, the loss to Zimbabwe in group play clearly affected Sri Lanka in their heavy loss overnight to England. Despite injuries their bowlers stood tall to restrict England to a gettable total. England's spinners had other ideas though and the spin trio of Jacks, Dawson, and Rashid powered England to a convincing win. Sri Lanka are pushing now to make the knockouts and will need a bounce back performance to keep their tournament hopes alive.
Your gray hair, thinning lashes, brain fog, and that low energy feeling after 30 might all trace back to one thing: falling NAD and stressed mitochondria. This episode breaks down what actually happens inside your cells as NAD declines, and what you can do about it using specific compounds from mushrooms, olive oil, and even chocolate. -Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR -Subscribe and save $15 on Wonderfeel by going to: https://getwonderfeel.com/product/wonderfeel-youngr-nmn/?utm_source=Dave&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=episode2Host Dave Asprey sits down with Baran Dilaver, CEO and co-founder of Wonderfeel Biosciences, to unpack the real science behind NAD, mitochondrial energy, and long-term longevity. Baran is an entrepreneur and inventor who previously led multiple start-ups as CEO and COO, collaborated with leading scientists and medical experts, and developed award-winning products. A UC Berkeley economics graduate and former scholarship athlete, he now focuses on translating cutting-edge bioscience into practical tools that enhance people's lives. They break down how NAD powers mitochondria, why your body strategically allocates cellular energy away from peak cognitive performance as you age, and how stress accelerates that decline. You'll hear the differences between niacinamide, NR, and NMN, the FDA confusion around NMN, and why raising NAD is about cellular repair, resilience, and metabolic function, not just “more energy.” The conversation goes deep on hydroxytyrosol, the powerful olive oil polyphenol that acts as a CD38 inhibitor, and ergothioneine, a mushroom-derived antioxidant with its own receptor in the human body that can accumulate in damaged tissues. Baran shares the origin story that pushed him to research ergothioneine, along with anecdotal observations from long-term users reporting improvements in sleep, focus, energy, thicker hair, reduced gray hair, and even eyelash regrowth. You'll also hear Dave's practical take on ketosis, fasting, supplements, and metabolism, why he prefers NAD precursors over IV NAD for most people, how methyl donors affect NAD IV tolerance, and why Wonderfeelbuilt a creatine chocolate bar sweetened with allulose to stay keto-friendly and diabetic-friendly. This is biohacking grounded in mechanism, from mitochondria and neuroplasticity to anti-aging strategy and smarter supplementation. You'll Learn: • What NAD does in the body and why oral NAD itself is not effective • How niacinamide, NR, and NMN compare as NAD precursors • Why mitochondria control energy allocation, cognition, and resilience • How hydroxytyrosol may support NAD longevity through CD38 inhibition • What ergothioneine is, why it comes from mushrooms, and why the body has a receptor for it • What long-term users commonly report: better sleep, clearer thinking, stronger energy, and cosmetic shifts • Why Dave prefers supplements over NAD IVs in most cases • How allulose differs from other sweeteners and why it matters for metabolism • Why creatine supports brain energy and how heat changes absorption strategy Thank you to our sponsors! • MASA Chips | Go to https://www.masachips.com/DAVEASPREY and use code DAVEASPREY for 25% off your first order • Branch Basics | Get 15% off at https://branchbasics.com/DAVE15 with code DAVE15 • Timeline | Go to timeline.com/Dave for 20% off• OneSkin | Try OneSkin at https://www.oneskin.co/DAVE and use code DAVE for 15% off Dave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking.

Katra no melodijām bija īpašā godā. Raugoties pagātnē, gribas secināt, ka šī interpretācija būs bijusi viens no neredzamajiem Andra Veismaņa karjeras virzītājspēkiem. Sekoja triumfāla interpretācija slavenākajai no Antonio Vivaldi trim "Gloria" – Re mažorā, RV 589. Uzreiz jāmin Cēsu Pils kora devums šī venēciešu dižgara šedevra iedzīvināšanā. Pateicoties lieliski sagatavotajam korim, Veismaņa žests absolūtā pazemībā Dieva vārda priekšā varēja izteikt vārdos neizsakāmo. No sirds. Viņi nospēlēja 12 dziesmas – "Big Me" arī. Laiks tovakar Sietlā bija 55°F (ap 13°C) – nekas neparasts. Lija lietus, un veidojās migla. Komponiste un tobrīd Valmieras Mūzikas skolas skolotāja Līga Liepiņa (tolaik Kaņepe) laikrakstā "Liesma" vēstīja: "Sala spēcīgais kniebiens un bagātīgais sniega birums jaunā gada sākumā – tas bija diezgan negaidīti, bet V Senās mūzikas festivāls Valmierā no 3. līdz 7. janvārim – ļoti gaidīts. [..] Par spilgtāko sniegumu klausītāju lielākā daļa atzina Vidzemes kamerorķestri ar V. A. Mocarta "Mazo naktsmūziku" un A. Vivaldi "Gloria", kur diriģenta Andra Veismaņa (Rīga) vadībā orķestris apvienojās ar Cēsu Pils kori, kuram šī sadarbība bija visveiksmīgākā."

Boosting a Natural Molecule (NAD+) Reverses Alzheimer's Brain Damage in New Study University of Oslo & Ullevaal University Hospital (Norway), February 8, 2026 One of the key drivers of brain dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the protein tau. Under normal conditions, tau helps maintain the internal structure of neurons, supporting the transport systems that allow nerve cells to function properly. In Alzheimer's disease, however, tau becomes abnormally modified and begins to clump together. These aggregates interfere with normal cellular transport, damage neurons, and ultimately contribute to memory impairment. Now, an international team of scientists has identified a previously unrecognized way to protect the brain from this degeneration. Their research shows that increasing levels of the naturally occurring molecule NAD⁺ can counteract neurological damage linked to Alzheimer's disease. Previous research has suggested that boosting NAD⁺ using precursor compounds such as nicotinamide riboside (NR) or nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) can produce beneficial effects in animal models of AD and in early-stage clinical studies. However, the biological processes responsible for these effects have remained poorly understood,” explains first author Alice Ruixue Ai. The new study reveals that NAD⁺ works through a previously unidentified RNA-splicing pathway. This pathway is regulated by a protein called EVA1C, which plays an essential role in the process of RNA splicing. RNA splicing allows a single gene to produce multiple isoforms of a protein, and one isoform may show distinctive effects on the other isoforms. Its dysregulation is one of the most recently acknowledged risk factors for AD.

In this episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with Dr. Tiffany Libby for a clear, science-forward conversation on supplements, cellular energy, and why NAD biology has become such a focal point in modern longevity discussions. As interest in “aging better” grows, this episode cuts through hype to explore what NAD optimization can—and cannot—realistically do for skin and whole-body health.Dr. Libby brings a rare perspective to the conversation. As a board-certified dermatologist and Director of Mohs Surgery at Brown University Health, her work spans both skin cancer care and cosmetic dermatology, treating patients across decades of life. That long view has shaped her understanding of longevity not as youth preservation, but as maintaining resilience, repair capacity, and function over time—especially in the face of inflammation, environmental stress, and chronic disease.Much of the discussion centers on why supplements, particularly NAD boosters, are having a cultural moment. Dr. Libby explains that this surge reflects a gap in the healthcare system itself—one that prioritizes treatment over prevention. While supplements can offer support, she emphasizes they are not shortcuts. Longevity still rests on fundamentals: sleep, nutrition, movement, stress regulation, and inflammation control. The episode offers a practical breakdown of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), explaining its role in mitochondrial energy production, DNA repair, and cellular defense. As NAD levels decline with age, skin becomes less efficient at repairing damage, producing collagen, and maintaining barrier integrity. Crucially, Dr. Libby explains why NAD itself can't be absorbed directly—and why precursors like nicotinamide riboside (NR) matter instead.Throughout the conversation, skepticism and safety remain central themes. In an underregulated supplement space, quality, dosing, and clinical validation matter. From a dermatologic standpoint, supporting mitochondrial health may help skin function closer to its biological potential—but only when paired with evidence-based care and realistic expectations.Listen to the full episode of Skin Anarchy to hear Dr. Tiffany Libby unpack the science of NAD, cellular energy, and why longevity begins with supporting biology—not chasing promises.SHOP TRU NIAGENDon't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf!Support the show
Most people think they go into your body and make all new tissue… but in actuality, they are a delivery mechanism of growth factors. I call them the ultimate traffic cop. In this episode, the host converses with Dr. Jesse Morse, a physician specializing in regenerative and anti-aging medicine. They delve into the intricacies of stem cells and their various sources, including bone marrow, fat, and donor tissue. Dr. Morse highlights the role of exosomes and growth factors in the healing process. The discussion also focuses on the prevention and treatment of Achilles tendon tears, emphasizing the importance of blood supply, proper diagnosis, and innovative therapies. Additionally, they explore the benefits and applications of various peptides, including BPC 157, TB 500, and MotC, for enhancing healing, anti-aging, and overall health. Dr. Morse also addresses the significance of nutrition and detoxification in maintaining optimal health and preventing injuries. In this episode of The Sound of Economics, host Yuyun Zhan is joined by Bruegel Senior Fellow Alicia García-Herrero and Jürgen Matthes of the German Economic Institute to discuss a growing concern for Europe's economy: the undervaluation of Yuan, the Chinese currency and its impact on European competitiveness. Is China's price advantage the result of productivity and innovation, or of deeper structural distortions such as subsidies, overcapacity, and currency management? And what policy options does Europe realistically have when existing trade defence instruments seem ill-suited to address economy-wide price and exchange-rate effects?Relevant research: Matthes, Jürgen, 2025, Yuan Undervaluation against the Euro: Unfair Cost Advantages for China?!, IW-Report, Nr. 36, Köln García-Herrero, A., T. Chad Ryker talks with Erin Butler (AZ Game & Fish Big Game Program Supervisor) about Arizona's elk and pronghorn draw, how non-residents fit into tag allocation, and how to build a smart application strategy. They cover the 20% max-point pass / 80% random draw structure (meaning low-point hunters still have a real shot), highlight over-the-counter/non-permit elk options, and call out common application mistakes. They finish with deadlines, costs, bonus-point “boosters,” and Point Guard options.Key takeawaysAZ draw structure: 20% of tags go to max bonus point holders; 80% are in a random draw, so “everyone has a chance.”Non-resident cap: Typically 10% of tags per hunt can go to non-residents (with rules that keep some NR tags in the random portion).Low-point reality: Many non-residents who draw have low points; random pass can produce surprise “first-year” winners.OTC elk exists: Arizona has non-permit/over-the-counter elk opportunities (including HAM: handgun/archery/muzzleloader), but they're often tough/low success and require research.Big mistakes to avoid: Applying for hunts you're ineligible for (like single-tag hunts as a NR), picking the wrong weapon/season, and assuming longer seasons = better (sometimes longer = harder).Bonus point boosters: Hunter Ed point (permanent) + Loyalty point (apply 5 years straight; miss a year and it resets).Point Guard: Lets you turn back a tag and keep your points (not your money); Point Guard Plus can also put you on a list for turned-back tags.Costs & timing: Need the non-refundable license, then apply per species; elk/pronghorn apps run mid-January to early February (deadline around Feb 3, 11:59 PM). NAD has become one of the most talked-about molecules in longevity medicine—showing up in supplements, IV clinics, lab testing, and bold claims about aging and healthspan. But what does the science actually show?In this episode of The Trip Lab, we take a clear, evidence-based look at NAD and use it as a lens to explore the broader field of longevity medicine. We break down what NAD does in the human body, why it's linked to the hallmarks of aging, and why declining NAD is often a signal of cumulative cellular stress rather than a simple deficiency. We also dive into the realities of NAD testing, the limitations of blood-based biomarkers, and what clinical trials of NR and NMN supplementation have—and have not—demonstrated so far. Along the way, we unpack why longevity research is both exciting and vulnerable to overhype, and why translating aging biology into meaningful human outcomes takes time. This episode is for anyone curious about longevity medicine who wants clarity without hype—and a better framework for thinking about promise versus proof.
In this hard-hitting episode of The Unapologetic Man Podcast, host Mark Sing breaks down 3 advanced frame control mind hacks that instantly separate beta men from real leaders in dating, attraction, and life. Frame control isn't a trick, it's the backbone of masculine presence, and most men destroy attraction without even realizing it by reacting emotionally, explaining themselves, or engaging with the wrong frames. In this episode, Mark shows you how high-value men maintain control by choosing what they engage with and what they ignore, using refusal to engage, strategic ignoring, and no response to shut down tests, flip power dynamics, and build attraction without chasing or qualifying themselves. Key Takeaways: - Why frame control is the foundation of attraction. - How refusing to engage instantly raises your perceived value. - Why ignoring attraction-killing tests builds more desire than responding. - How no response over text flips the power dynamic in your favor.
