Apologies for no podcast yesterdaym our freaking server went down on the one day I booked a surprise in-studio guest! (It was Duffy, for those wondering) Today we reacted to the unbelievable comeback the Knicks pulled on the Spurs in the NBA Finals, some teen burned a bra rack at Walmart, another dude somehow attended the wrong wedding, and Coors has released a truly absurd beer for the World Cup! We visited the doctor with comedian Brian Regan, and hit the phones to hear about the OPPOSITE of Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce, when it comes to weddings...See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A deep dive into KeeperAI's massive dataset revealing stark height preferences in modern dating, where a 5'0” man appeals to just 5% of women while a 6'0” man reaches 93%. We explore supporting research from speed-dating studies, online dating analyses, and evolutionary psychology, plus how age, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity influence these patterns. With a balanced look at biology, culture, and real-world outcomes, this episode challenges both extremes—height obsession and denial—while offering practical insights for singles.

Episode 352 of the InGoal Radio Podcast, presented by The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, features a fantastic interview with 6-foot-9 Florida Panthers prospect Cooper Black. In the feature interview presented by NHL Sense Arena, Black shares his unique path from playing high school hockey in Michigan to signed pro, including lessons from being cut several times along the way. He talks about the recruiting process, including a cold call from Hall of Fame goalie Roberto Luongo, reigning in "psychopath" aggression for his size, his in-game mantras, several exceptional tactical and technical tips, and the unique equipment challenges that come with being the biggest goalie in pro hockey, including the challenge of having size 16 feet -- four sizes bigger than the largest blade and holder any company makes. In the Parent Playbook, presented by Stop it Goaltending U the App, we share lessons and advice for any goalie and parent going through the recent draft process at the junior levels. We also review this week's Pro Reads, presented by Vizual Edge, featuring Jet Greaves of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Team Canada with great tips on scans, screens and scrambles. And in our weekly gear segment, we head to The Hockey Shop Source for Sports, for a look at the new CCM Tacks stick, with durability reinforcements and the best blade feel of any composite.
Tallest towers. Egg drops. Marble runs. These five challenges use nothing but paper, tape, and cardboard — and they're some of the most engaging engineering activities you can run in the final weeks of school. Listen in to get all five challenges with their criteria and constraints, understand why iteration is the part you can't skip, and hear why building kids' experiences with engineering — even outside your standards — is never wasted time.No budget. No specialty supplies. No excuses. In this episode Nicole walks through five paper, tape, and cardboard STEM challenges you can run in the next few weeks, explains what makes each one real engineering (not just a fun build), and makes the case for why end-of-year activities that fall outside your curriculum standards still matter more than you might think.IN THIS EPISODE:All five challenges — Tallest Tower, The Bridge, Marble Run, Egg Drop, and Windproof Wall — with criteria, constraints, and what kids are actually figuring out in each oneWhy criteria and constraints are what separate a real engineering challenge from just building somethingThe one challenge you should protect extra time for — and why the iteration loop is where the real learning happensWhy the Egg Drop is actually a great entry point for talking about engineering in the real world (think: NASA, limited resources, and what it means when you can't just test again)Why activities outside your standards still build something valuable — and how background knowledge shows up in unexpected places

Mike sits down with Julie Wyman, director of The Tallest Dwarf — a documentary that is as personal as it is political. When filmmaker and UC Davis professor Julie Forrest Wyman set out to make The Tallest Dwarf, she discovered she has hypochondroplasia dwarfism herself — and that hers is the last of a body type she has inherited. The film charts her quest to find her place within the little people community at a moment when dwarf identity is poised to radically change, exploring everything from the legacy of exploitation to the thorny ethics of pharmaceutical interventions promising to make little people taller.Visually striking, humorous, and touching, The Tallest Dwarf invites audiences to rethink identity, disability, and what it means to belong in a world that wants to change who you are.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-projection-booth-podcast--5513239/support.Become a supporter of The Projection Booth at http://www.patreon.com/projectionbooth

Sam and Adrian wrap up the Seven Summits Series with none other than Mt. Everest. At 29,032' above sea level, Mt Everest is much taller than any of the other seven summits, and its history, notoriety and reputation speaks for itself. While Everest has been well covered on the Duffel Shuffle Podcast, Sam and Adrian endeavor to provide an unbiased look at climbing the mountain, and compare the two regular climbing routes for guided climbers, with as little opinion as possible. - Different "requirements" for prior experience exist on either side of the mountain, and many operators have their own prerequisites, but in general experience up to 7,000m is important. In theory, this experience and more can be gathered through climbing the other six of the seven summits. - There are pros and cons to each side of the mountain, but the most important thing when considering an Everest Expedition is understanding what your getting from your operator. Budget and Guiding do not go hand in hand. - While there are differences between sides in weather, infrastructure, rescue, technicality, access, etc. the each have reasonable pros and cons. By night (and often at 20,000+ feet), she's pushing her limits on some of the harshest terrain on earth. In this conversation, Louise shares: - What climbing Everest and Denali taught her about resilience - How mountaineers manage fear, fatigue, and mental overload - The training required for high‑altitude expeditions - How to handle disappointment, setbacks, and unexpected danger - Why pursuing passion outside of work builds stronger leaders - The story behind She Summits Fourteeners, her initiative empowering women through mountaineering This episode isn't just about climbing mountains — it's about building the mental toughness to face life's biggest challenges and emerging stronger on the other side.

Send us a textBlood on the canvas, debates on the scorecards, and a corner countout that had us double-taking at the screen—this week's slate turned small venues into big stories. We start with Jack Catterall's ruthless timing against Asuman, where early power, clean knockdowns, and cut management morphed a presumed showcase into a gritty, can't-look-away brawl. From there, we head to ESPN Deportes, where production charm met raw matchmaking: Blandon dissecting Marinero with steady pressure and shot selection, and Mosinos vs Cabrera delivering a lighter-weight firefight built on pace, chin, and survival instincts. Our detour to the Top Rank Classic stream brought a pair of emphatic moments. Heavyweight prospect Richard Torres ended his night almost as soon as it started, smashing a nose, dropping an uppercut, and forcing the finish—an efficient reminder that precision beats size when it counts. Then 17-year-old Julian Montalbo scored a clinical body-shot KO, the purest kind of verdict boxing can offer. But the weekend's lightning rod was Lindolfo Delgado vs Gabriel Goyas, a split decision that split the room. Was the jab and late knockdown enough to tilt the cards, or did heavier counters and visible damage win the quieter rounds? We unpack ring generalship, effective aggression, and how commentary can bend perception when fights get close. We close with Rafael Espinoza, the tallest featherweight champion in history, and a performance that was more than reach. He didn't just paw a jab—he layered hooks, uppercuts, and pressure that forced a brave corner to make the call. Strange countout or not, it was the right ending after ten punishing rounds. If you love boxing for its arguments as much as its action, this one has both: scoring nuance, rising prospects, and a champion who knows how to turn height into hurt. Hit play, share your card for Delgado vs Goyas, and if you're riding with us weekly, tap follow, rate the show, and tell a fight friend where to find us.

In this final episode from Saudi Arabia, I travel from the peaceful Red Sea town of Yanbu to vibrant Jeddah – and end the journey at the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival near Riyadh. Along the way, I meet generous locals at a night market, stay with a kind CouchSurfing host, and visit the world's tallest unfinished skyscraper, the Jeddah Tower, now standing eerily still in the desert. The trip ends in true Saudi style – surrounded by majestic camels competing in a beauty contest with millions at stake. This country has surprised me in every way.
