We all want the best for our children's health, and dental health is no exception. But how do we actually achieve this to ensure their smiles stay bright and healthy (and we aren't spending a fortune on dental bills in the future)? In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Staci Whitman to answer all your burning questions about children's dental health.Doctor Staci is on a mission to create a cavity-free world. She founded one of the first Functional Paediatric Dental Offices in the world, where she takes a whole-body, holistic, and functional approach with her patients. Her dentistry and practice philosophy are both grounded in science and powered by love. Doctor Staci has always been passionate about children's nutrition and how to improve our food system, the oral microbiome and the oral-systemic connection, and sleep and airway health, focusing her research in residency on how to improve airway assessments and diagnostic tools in the paediatric population. In this podcast we discussWhen our children should first see a dentist and start brushing their teethWhat is a cavity and why do we get themThe optimal diet for dental health, and what to do if you have a picky eaterDr Staci's thoughts on toothpaste - what to look for and avoidAll about flossing and fluorideWhether breast milk causes tooth decayWhy is open mouth breathing is a red flag and what it may indicate... and so much more! You can connect with Dr Staci via instagram and her websiteToday's episode was brought to you by Myo Munchee. Our diet - and in many ways our health - have changed drastically over time. Ancestrally, we were chewing on dried meats, nuts, seeds, etc. which is the ideal exercise for the lips, face, and jaws. The natural growth forces generated from correct chewing make a big contribution to growing faces and maintaining ideal oral function for life. In the last hundred years, the western industrialised lifestyle—with its soft foods, reduced nutritional diversity, and rapidly decreasing range of exercise— has essentially removed natural cues for healthy oral development. Tongue and jaw movements are also being impacted by poor oral habits including processed soft baby food, squeezy packs, pacifiers/dummies, and sippy cups. The Myo Munchee is chewing device that can provide necessary chewing exercise enhancing muscle strength, tone and coordination for better oral posture. It promotes nasal breathing and reinforces correct swallow patterns. Chewing a Munchee also produces A LOT of saliva. Saliva is nature's elixir, helping to cleanse the oral cavity, promoting better oral hygiene. You can use the code BOOBTOFOOD for 15% off the Myo Munchee range. It targets the orofacial muscles that assist in chewing and swallowing.-Nasal breathing is essential for optimal health. The device helps to create a natural lip seal, which aids in nasal breathing, subsequently improving oxygenation in the body.-While not a cure, the device can be an integral part of a treatment plan for sleep apnea. By encouraging nasal breathing, it can mitigate some symptoms associated with sleep disorders, including snoring and teeth grinding.-The device is not just for children; its benefits extend to adults as well. Adults dealing with issues like sleep apnea, chronic mouth breathing, or even misaligned teeth can benefit from this therapy. How to Use Myo Munchee? -Rinse: Always rinse the device before use. It can be submerged in freshly boiled water for sterilisation.-Place: Insert it into the mouth with the lip indent at the top.-Chew: Close your lips and begin chewing gently.-Duration: Start with 1 minute twice a day, gradually increasing the time to 10 minutes twice a day. In a fireside chat I moderated with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce held by the Blockchain Digital Asset Forum, in conjunction with the NYU Stern Executive MBA program, on March 26, 2019, she explained where her reputation as 'Crypto Mom' comes from — a desire to look at the world with fresh eyes and say, are there things we can do things better? We also discussed a Bitcoin ETF and the prospects for one after Bitwise released a report showing a health legitimate market, as well as initial coin offerings and what will happen to the hundreds of ICO issuers that had initial coin offerings that look much like the ICOs that have already had enforcement actions against them. She described the process that occurs when something like an application for a Bitcoin ETF is submitted to the SEC, whether or not there's a lot of disagreement amongst the commissioners about how to regulate crypto, how much they work to persuade each other to come over to their side and whether Chairman Jay Clayton's opinion overrules everyone else's or whether majority rules. Plus, we covered dexes, stablecoins and security tokens. It’s true. ZigZag listeners agree that registering to buy CVL tokens is a pain in the ass. And yet, many still plan to join Civil’s experimental social network for journalism. On this episode, listeners ask tough question and explain why they’re undeterred by the platform’s growing pains. Also, Manoush and Jen gather the “First-Fleet” of Civil journalists to discuss problems with employers and business-models past (DNAInfo, The Denver Post, the New York Daily News)...and how they plan to make sure local and investigative journalism have a future, tokens or no tokens. We are painting a picture of cryptocurrency by hearing voices from a full spectrum. Today we add color to the ICO part of our painting. Last episode Andrew Chapin talked about the importance of governance, of gaining trust, if one is to buy altcoins- or alternative crypto currency. We’ve heard from investors, fund managers, futurists who r buying, selling or holding onto cryptocurrency. Our next guest is creating a currency. We get to hear about it from Chelsea Lam, who is the co-founder of Munchee, their new cryptocurrency is called MUNtoken. The launch of their Initial Coin Offering is happening now. If I recall from Episode 6, some things to cover are “Why is this currency necessary?”, “What problem are you solving?”, “Why is this the best solution,” or "Why is the blockchain necessary.” Let me know what you think, on twitter @coloringcrypto and leave a question on our listener wallet Coloring Crypto is not investment advice nor is it an endorsement of our guests or the products mentioned. Everything you hear on Coloring Crypto is intended to illuminate cryptocurrency and the blockchain , in an artsy way. Thank you for the reviews and downloads! The numbers are growing.
