Ian Clark is the CEO of Activation Products, a business built to inspire people to strive for perfect health. At 46, Ian's health started to unravel completely — he had a large tumor near his colon and prostate, significant heart disease, and his liver went off the rails. He was also coming out of a business bankruptcy at the time. He was told he had roughly 1,000 days left to live. He asked his doctor to hold off on surgery for three months and gave himself that time to find a natural path. He started researching everything he could on nutrition and superfoods, completely changed his diet, and began rebuilding from the ground up. He is also the host of the show Younger Than Yesterday Podcast, available everywhere podcasts are found. Indeed, I'd beenanticipating this interview with Oxana for weeks. Why, you ask? Because of therelevance of Oxana's work and expertise. Without being too dramatic. Her workand expertise are in life and health, and in the connection betweenneuroscience, dental health, and holistic health. She is eloquent, passionate, caring, and brilliant. Her accents remind me about the movie "Casablanca.” Yes, reducing her work simplistically, oral care is now strongly linked to cardiac and mental health. Powerful stuffhere. And Oxana is writing a book for parents. She works mostly with kids. Sheexplains how the mouth is related to emotions, breathing, and systemic health.Good habits begin in childhood. She talks mind, body, and soul. Pay attentionto yourself. It affects kids. Teach kids how to brush and remove ‘bad stuff'from their heads. Daily practices to manage emotional baggage or chronicstress. She has the power to transform lives. The brilliance of her wordsdrifted me to my grandchildren. I could not “not” focus on the children. Ourgift. Then I realized Oxana is a gift. A perfect interview.” Calvin
Kids' Dental Health: Early Screening, Diet, Fluoride and Reducing Anxiety with Dr. Abigail MooreSheena speaks with Dr. Abigail Moore, a pediatric dentist at Happy Teeth, about why early dental visits and screening matter, especially as school screening in Ireland is inconsistent and poorly communicated. Dr Moore explains pediatric dentistry training, the main issues she sees (preventable tooth decay, developmental concerns, and enamel hypomineralisation), and why baby teeth are important for eating, pain prevention, and holding space for adult teeth. They discuss modern diets, emphasising that frequency of eating and sipping drives acid attacks, and advise keeping juice to mealtimes (not in water bottles), with milk and water as safest drinks. Key home care tips include brushing twice daily, not rinsing after brushing, using soft/small brushes, and choosing toothpaste with 1,450 ppm fluoride, warning about trendy low-fluoride products. Dr Moore highlights parental anxiety, preparation, and prevention, and notes Ireland produces about 100 dentists a year, arguing for stronger prevention-focused policy and education.00:00 Meet Dr Moore00:16 What Pediatric Dentists Do01:38 Why Early Screening Matters03:11 First Dental Visits04:21 Common Kids Dental Issues05:31 Hypomineralization Explained08:23 Modern Diet And Teeth11:35 Juice And Tooth Damage15:48 Brushing Basics For Kids17:08 Choosing Toothbrushes18:43 Soft Vs Hard Brushes19:44 Dental Misinformation Online21:07 Fluoride And Trendy Toothpaste - 1450ppm flouride needed!!22:23 High Smile Marketing Trap23:34 Why Baby Teeth Matter26:21 School Screening Breakdown30:43 Prevention Over Treatment32:43 Helping Kids Fear Less37:18 Happy Teeth Mission40:08 Key Takeaways And Wrap Hosted on Acast. When you think of sugary Easter treats, chocolate eggs and hot cross buns come to mind, so what better way to end the Easter long-weekend than with a visit from the dentist, with statistics from the 2024 Australian Oral Health Tracker showing over 30% of kids and adults suffer from tooth decay.
Oral Health, Inflammation, and Periodontal Disease: Dr. William Levine, a board-certified periodontist and chief scientist at Peri Active Oral Rinse, offers a deep-dive on periodontal disease as an infectious inflammatory condition with autoimmune-like tissue destruction. It affects over 50% of U.S. adults over 35 and rises with age. He details bidirectional links between gum disease and systemic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, and some dementias, and notes signs such as bleeding, pain, swelling, loose or shifting teeth, and gum recession. Levine explains plaque, dysbiosis, and biofilms, emphasizing mechanical plaque removal to preserve a healthy oral microbiome. Standard care includes scaling and root planing, possible surgery, and lasers; antiseptic rinses like chlorhexidine can be harsh and limited against biofilms. Levine describes a plant-bioactive rinse (gotu kola, echinacea, elderberry) designed to reduce harmful bacteria, penetrate gums, lower inflammation, and promote repair; xylitol may help via saliva stimulation. He also addresses smoking, dry mouth, fluoride toothpaste, interdental cleaning, and osteoporotic drugs' dental risks.
Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with Dr. William Levine, a board-certified periodontist and chief scientist at Peri Active Oral Rinse.

Three ordinary habits—puzzling, pouring, and brushing—carry extraordinary power over long-term health. We unpack new and notable research on cognitive health, colorectal cancer risk, and cardiovascular disease, then turn it into simple actions you can actually keep.First, we explore why puzzles and other structured brain challenges may strengthen executive function, attention, and visuospatial skills. Large-scale studies of board games and crosswords point to lower dementia risk, and the mindfulness angle is compelling: focused, tactile tasks can quiet stress cycles and improve mood. We're honest about the evidence gaps too—puzzles haven't been trialed as formal stress therapies—but the low-friction habit still earns a spot in your daily routine, especially if you crave small wins or navigate ADHD.Next, we challenge the comfort of “moderate” drinking by looking at lifetime alcohol intake and colorectal cancer. The dose-response signal is clear: more drinks over more years raise risk, with rectal cancer showing the steepest climb. There's practical hope as well—former drinkers see fewer precancerous adenomas—so dialing back weekly totals, adding alcohol-free days, and keeping up with screening can move the needle. The takeaway isn't alarm; it's agency. We close with two underappreciated drivers of heart disease: ultra-processed foods and gum health. Evidence now ties higher UPF intake to more cardiovascular events, while updated scientific statements map how periodontal bacteria and chronic inflammation stress blood vessels, elevate clotting risk, and push up heart attack and stroke rates. The fix is refreshingly doable: shift groceries toward minimally processed staples, build batch-cook routines, brush and clean between teeth daily, and keep regular dental visits. We also name the inequities—insurance gaps, limited access, time off work—and why better oral care access belongs in any heart health strategy. If this helped you rethink one small daily choice, tap follow, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review so others can find the show. Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with Nathan Jones, CEO and founder of Xlear, Inc.
Xylitol, FTC Censorship, and the Oral–Heart Health Connection: Nathan Jones, CEO and founder of Xlear, Inc., makers of xylitol-based nasal and dental hygiene products, and a health freedom advocate, discusses Jones' ongoing legal battle with the FTC. He addresses the difficulty of making health claims for hygiene products (including toothpaste and nasal sprays), the role of “weasel words” in supplement marketing, and concerns about regulatory double standards versus pharmaceuticals. He also reviews xylitol's benefits for dental caries and respiratory/ear infections, including references to studies and public-health examples (e.g., Finland and a Belize program reducing dental caries costs), and Jones' efforts to encourage Utah to implement xylitol gum programs in schools. He contrasts fluoride's enamel-strengthening approach with xylitol's effect on the underlying bacterial cause of tooth decay, discusses Utah's fluoride policy change and claims about fluoride's limited benefit, and highlights a correlation between poor oral health and cardiovascular risk via inflammation and bacterial translocation into the bloodstream, including pathogens found in atherosclerotic plaque, and links also discussed for dementia and Parkinson's. They close with commentary on health advocacy in the “MAHA era,” the challenges of entrenched federal bureaucracy, and Jones' preference for advocacy groups that teach industry to push back rather than comply.

Dental health is about so much more than teeth. In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Emily Stein, a leading scientist in oral microbiome and soft tissue inflammation, to explore why dental health matters deeply for cats - AND how the connection between humans and their cats may be closer than we ever imagined. This conversation just might change how you think about oral health forever.
Since it is dental month, I wanted to sit down and chat about how oral health is not just about teeth or breath, it is about digestion, immunity, inflammation, lymph flow, behavior, and honestly your dog's whole vibe. We dig into how chewing and saliva support the nervous system, why oral bacteria can impact the heart, liver, joints, and gut, and how low grade dental issues can quietly show up as skin problems, ear trouble, or mood changes. Why is it so hard to find real guidance about wisdom teeth, fluoride, and braces for our families? When I first invited Dr. Barry Gillespie onto the podcast, I thought I was bringing on a traditional-turned-biological dentist. This is what I shared in my community The Rebalancing Collective, and what I shared on my instagram stories when I was gathering all the questions you wanted answered. But as soon as we began talking, I quickly realized I had misunderstood and what unfolded ended up being far more empowering than the conversation I originally imagined. What makes this conversation so powerful isn't just Dr. Gillespie's wisdom. It's the honesty that only comes from someone who has lived inside the traditional system, followed the rules, believed in the model, and then had his entire perspective altered by real life. He's here sharing his opinions after fifty years of seeing both sides… what dentistry teaches and what he now knows to be true about whole-body healing. And for me, that carries a different kind of weight. When I walked into my house after this interview, Ty and our kids asked me how it went, and the only words I could find were, “I feel like I just sat with one of those wise people you see in documentaries… someone who has actually lived the things he's talking about.” His insight means so much to me, and I know to every single one of you listening, because we're not here for symptom-masking or band-aids. We're here for lived experience. And hearing from someone who has walked both sides and now chooses a different path is deeply grounding and profoundly empowering. You'll hear his honest, unfiltered opinions on the things so many of us feel pressured into… wisdom teeth removal, fluoride, braces, root canals, and why, as he says, “you don't want to go along with the herd.” He takes you out of fear and back into discernment. The conversation around wisdom teeth alone is going to shift how you think about dental timelines. We compare it to circumcision, how the culture tells us to do something simply because “that's what everyone does,” instead of making decisions with intention and understanding. If you're someone who's ever sat in a dental chair or a doctor's office wondering, “Is this really the only way?”... this episode is for you. It's humbling, empowering, and filled with the kind of wisdom that helps you see your health in a whole new light.I can't wait for you to meet Berry! Let's get into it!Thanks for listening! Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with clinical pharmacist, author, board-certified clinical nutritionist, and health expert Jim LaValle on the many health benefits of aged garlic extract.
Clinical Pharmacist, Author, Board-Certified Clinical Nutritionist, and Health Expert Jim LaValle details the many health benefits of aged garlic extract, particularly its impact on periodontal disease. He reveals exciting new research findings that show Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract supplements can significantly reduce periodontal pocket depth -- a key indicator of gingivitis and periodontal disease progression. He also highlights the role of aged garlic extract in reducing inflammation and improving gum health, which in turn has significant implications for cardiovascular and cognitive health. The conversation also touches on various formulations of aged garlic extract available from Kyolic, the importance of integrative approaches to health and wellness, and updates on the latest trends in anti-aging medicine, including peptides and GLP-1 agonists.
Dr. Hoffman continues his conversation with Nathan Jones, CEO of Xlear, Inc.
Nathan Jones, CEO of Xlear, Inc., details the benefits of xylitol in dental and respiratory health products such as nasal sprays and chewing gums under the Spry brand. Nathan advocates for the FDA to allow anti-cavity claims for xylitol and other compounds despite the current monopoly of fluoride in such claims. They question the efficacy and potential downsides of fluoride, and explore alternative dental health interventions. The episode also covers xylitol's role in preventing tooth decay, respiratory health benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ongoing legal challenges with the FTC. Discussions highlight the potential implications of oral health on systemic diseases like cardiovascular disease and Parkinson's, and emphasize the importance of nasal hygiene alongside dental care.

Our health journey actually starts with brushing our teeth because the bacteria and the toxins from the mouth can spread to the rest of the body." — Dr. Kenny Brown "The tongue is a shag carpet. It is not a smooth table. It has crevices where all the food that we eat, the snot, the drainage, and the bacteria can tuck in, which creates the white layer on top of the tongue, and can become the source of bad breath. So cleaning the tongue on a routine basis is absolutely necessary." — Dr. Kenny Brown "Veneers alter the microbiome of the mouth. It's more man made material that's going in your mouth. And it will never get clean the same way that you can clean your natural teeth. The edges of veneers is where cavities start to creep in so you actually need to take better care of them." — Dr. Kenny Brown Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products Biohacking Korrect Life - 15% OFF WITH CODE "JOSH15" MANNA Vitality - Save 20% with code JOSH20 HigherDOSE - 15% off with the code WELLNESSANDWISDOM PLUNGE - $150 off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE SaunaSpace - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Ultrahuman Ring Air - 10% off with code JOSH Wellness Test Kits Tiny Health Gut Tests - $20 off with discount code JOSH20 VIVOO Health Tests - Save 30% off with code JOSH SiPhox Health Blood Test - Save 15% off with code JOSH Nutrition + Gut Health Organifi - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE Paleovalley - 15% off with the link only EQUIP Foods - 20% off with the code WELLNESS20 DRY FARM WINES - Get an extra bottle of Pure Natural Wine with your order for just 1¢ Just Thrive - 20% off with the code JOSH Kreatures of Habit - Save 20% with WISDOM20 Supplements MANNA GOLD - $20 off with the code JOSHGOLD Adapt Naturals - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE MitoZen - 10% off with the code WELLNESSFORCE Activation Products - 20% off with the code JOSH20 BiOptimizers - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Fatty15 Essential Fatty Acids Supplement - Get 15% off with code JOSH15 Sleep BiOptimizers Sleep Breakthrough - 10% off with JOSH10 Zyppah Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece - 20% off with the code JOSH MitoZen Super SandMan Ultra™ (Melatonin Liposomal)+ | 10% off with WELLNESSFORCE Luminette Light Therapy Glasses - 15% off with JOSH Cured Nutrition CBN Night Oil - 20% off with JOSH Natural Energy MTE - Save 20% with JOSH TruKava - Save 20% with code JOSH20 Drink Update - Save 25% with discount code JOSH25 EONS Mushroom Coffee - 20% off with the discount code JOSH20 EnergyBITS - 20% off with the code WELLNESSFORCE BUBS Naturals - Save 20% with JOSH20 Fitness + Physical Health Detox Dudes Online Courses - Up to $500 off with discount code JOSH Kineon - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Create Wellness Creatine Gummies - 20% off with discount code JOSH BioPro+ by BioProtein Technology - Save $30 OFF WITH CODE JOSH Drink LMNT - Zero Sugar Hydration: Get your free LMNT Sample Pack, with any purchase Healthy Home SunHome Saunas - Save $200 with JOSH200 JASPR Air Purifier - Save 10% with code WELLNESS Zyppah Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece - 20% off with the code JOSH Holy Hydrogen - $100 off with discount code JOSH SimplyO3 - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 LEELA Quantum Upgrade + Frequency Bundles - Get 15 days free with code JOSH15 TrulyFree Toxic- Free Cleaning Products - Get 40% off + Freebies with code WELLNESSFORCE Mental Health + Stress Release Mendi.io - 20% off with the code JOSH20 NOOTOPIA - 10% off with the discount code JOSH10 CalmiGo - $30 off the device with discount code JOSH30 QUALIA - 15% off with WELLNESSFORCE Personal Care The Wellness Company's Emergency Health Kits + More - Save 10% with code JOSH Farrow Life - Save 20% with JOSH Timeline Nutrition - 10% off with JOSH Intelligence of Nature - 15% off Skin Support with the code JOSH15 Young Goose - Save 10% with code JOSH10 Mindfulness + Meditation BREATHE - 33% off with the code PODCAST33 Neuvana - 15% off with the code WELLNESSFORCE Essential Oil Wizardry - 10% off with the code WELLNESSFORCE Four Visions - Save 15% with code JOSH15 Lotuswei - 10% off with JOSH Clothing Rhizal Grounded Barefoot Shoes - Save 10% with code WELLNESS Earth Runners Shoes - 10% off with the code JOSHT10 Free Resources M21 Wellness Guide - Free 3-Week Breathwork Program with Josh Trent Join The Liberated Life Tribe About Dr. Kenny Brown Dr. Kenny Brown is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has operated on everything from a loose baby tooth to a skull reconstruction following a bear attack.
