In this episode, the girls share their thoughts on planning (or not) sweaters for the men in their lives. Review Mary of Kino Knits and Clare of Knit Share Love recently released the Point/Counterpoint, Volume 3 collection. It's another gorgeous collaboration in this series, with 2 hats, a shawl, and a pair of fingerless mitts. Finished Projects Susie finished her Timber Bay hat, her Origami Top Hat, and her Pebble Beach Shawl. Danie finished a Playful Stripes Cardigan out of Knit Picks Shine Sport. Current Projects Susie worked on her Winter Remix Hexi Socks, and cast on a pair of Circuitous Ribbed Socks out of 716knit 716Sock in the Winning Friends Through Telepathy colorway as well as a Lilli Pilli out of Sun Valley Fibers MCS Fingering in Purple Passion, Lavender, and Whisper. Danie started her Cattails sleeves, worked more on her Daelyn Pullover, her MIL Socks, and revisited her Handspun Elda Cardigan.
In this episode, the girls press record in the middle of a non-knitting conversation which evolves into a potpourri episode. Susie's Roughlock Falls Shawl pattern is now available on Ravelry! Contest The girls are giving away SIX copies of Stand Up! Post a comment in the contest thread in the Ravelry group to enter! Finished Projects Danie finished her Downpour Socks and her Thundertwist. Susie finished her 5th Birthday Socks and her Georgetown. Psst! Danie also finished a pair of kid mittens! Current Projects Danie worked her Cattails and cast on MIL Socks, Helical Striped Fingerless Mitts, and Daelyn Pullover out of One Twisted Tree Lavish in Take the Black. Susie worked more on her Winter Remix Hexi Socks, and cast on the Origami Top Hat out of Lavender Lune Yarn Co. DK in the Critters of Texas colorway. She also picked back up her Timber Bay hat and her Pebble Beach Shawl.
In this episode, the girls have no clue what they're going to talk about but quickly figure something out. Susie has news and tangents, and Danie perseveres through more heel issues. Events The girls will be having a pop-up at Imagiknit in October! Details to come! Finished Projects Susie finished her Weekend Pullover, and it is pretty adorable. Current Projects Susie started a Pebble Beach Shawl out of Leading Men Fiber Arts Diva in the Yarnhoarder colorway. Danie added a square to her Stained Glass Sock Blanket (not her WeekEnder Hexi Blanket). She also put a 5th heel into her Downpour Socks which didn't work, but has a new heel plan in place. Project: Reconsideration Susie reconsidered her Vedai. It has languished far too long, and she's just doesn't love it anymore. She is very taken with Ryo, however, which is likely what the yarn will become. Danie reconsidered her Staring at Stars out of Miss Babs' Yowza in the Denim colorway. She is considering striping the yarn with some of her early hand-dyed in a Cattails or a Naima. Enhance the Stash A big thank you to It's All About Ewe for sending preview skeins of her self-striping in the Falling Stars and Fluorite colorways!
I may not have been podcasting much over the past few weeks, but I sure have been knitting!! It is very likely that my podcasts will be a little sporadic over the summer as I try to balance everything I want/need to get done. My intention is to have WIP and FO jam packed shows when I do record though.I've been on a bit of a sweater kick (appropriate for a hot dry spell, right?)...and the four sweaters in question are -Hiro by Julia Farwell-ClayMiranda by Josée PaquinTolmie by Josée PaquinWhispers by Veera VälimäkiI am totally loving the Mule Spinner 2-Ply from Custom Woolen Mills, and plan to buy at least one more sweater's quantity once I've finished knitting Tolmie. A rainbow of Tolmies perhaps? Today I was wearing my Pebble Beach Shawl by Helen Stewart. I knit this one out of Habu Tsumugi Silk, and it is absolutely perfect for summer!
In this episode, the girls reflect on what knitting does for them, and how that sometimes changes because of life. Contest We're gearing up for the 2016 Legend-Prairie contest! Please contact us if you're interested in donating a giveaway prize. Finished Projects Danie finished a stack of garter stitch squares, which is the start of her Micah's Blanket. She also started and mostly finished (minus the felting) her Micah's Duffers (2016). Susie finished her secret hat project. Current Projects Danie has been working away on her HamilKnit hat. She also started a new sweater - Staring at Stars. Susie worked a little on the i-cord edging on her Oh Scrap Blanket, and on her Vedai sweater. She also worked through the cuff of her second Directional Socks, and cast-on Whisky & Rye using Marigoldjen BFL/Nylon Sock in Merry & Bright. She knit a bit on her Pebble Beach Shawl, and cast-on Close To You using Ethereal Fibers Aurora Borealis Sock (shawl) in Do You Know When Santa Farts at the Mall?, as well as a Luckdragon Shawl using KnitCircus Lavish in Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink. Project: Reconsideration Susie will never knit a Christmas stocking, and so she's given up even pretending like she will. She is following Danie's lead and ordering some Holiday Stockings (white glove, yo!) from Sprout Patterns. Enhance the Stash Susie acquired madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Undergrowth, a peppermint mocha bag from Suburban Stitcher, some Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd Wool Worsted for a kid hat, and a couple skeins from A Whimsical Wood Yarn Co.
In this episode, Danie finishes a pile of sweaters and Susie casts on a pile of projects. Stuff & Things Check out the Glorien cowl from Kino Knits, and Susie's Good Grief! child sweater pattern! Events The Big-Bad-Berg-along started October 1st and runs through November 15th! Check out the thread in the Ravelry group, and be sure to check out the threads in the other podcasts’ groups too! Finished Projects Susie finished her Threshold in time for family photos, and it looked goooood. Danie finished her Rhinebeck Campside Cardi, re-knit the buttonband on her Handspun Elda Cardigan, finished her Featherweight Cardigan, and started AND finished two Harvests! Current Projects Danie swatched for an epic Hamilton-inspired hat Emily of Knitting Butterflies has designed. Susie started figuring out the border on her Oh Scrap Blanket, and because she's a Prairie Girl, had to do some re-figuring too. She knit a bit on her black 2x1 Ribbed Socks, her Directional Socks, and cast on a third Newborn Bonnet & Wrap Set, and yet another iteration of a Christmas Stocking. She worked a little on her Drachenfels, and cast on a Pebble Beach Shawl using handspun from Sarah of Cultivate & Create, a super secret hat using madelinetosh Vintage in Mill Pond. And finally, she cast on a new sweater - Vedai - using One Twisted Tree Lavish in Frozen Forest of Dean. Future Projects Danie is going to swatch for Staring at Stars to cast on soon. Enhance the Stash Susie enhanced her stash with blanket edging yarn twice, The Loopy Ewe S0lid Series in Slate, sweater yarn, One Twisted Tree Lavish in Frozen Forest of Dean, and a new bag from The Fat Squirrel.

We don't always record together, but when we do, we prefer giggles. Please listen responsibly. Marsha visited Kelly over the Labor Day Weekend, and the Two Ewes have so much to discuss that this episode comes to you in two parts. This episode is ready for listening and Part 2 (Episode 25) will be uploaded in a few days. In Part 1 we announce our first ever Crochet-A-Long! The CAL starts October 1st and ends December 31st. Projects can be of any size or number. Kelly is planning to make Happypotamus the Happy Hippo by Heidi Bears that she has had in her queue for awhile now. Marsha is planning to make Virus Shawl by Julia Marquardt. Marsha has never crocheted before so is planning to take a class at her LYS to get started. During their visit Marsha completed her Pebble Beach Shawl by Helen Stewart using Stonehedge Fiber Mill Crazy. Thank you to our listener and Ravelry group member "kimbuktu7" for the recommendation. This is the first shawl Marsha has made that is crescent shaped and she loves the way the ends curl. A very wearable shawl, plus the colors look good with so many outfits. Kelly also has a project going with Stonehedge Crazy yarn. She is making a Wild and Crazy version of the Mielie vest by Hillary Smith Callis using two skeins of Crazy, along with a large skein of purple fingering weight that she has dyed. This is a great pattern and is knitting up so quickly that it is addicting! Marsha made good progress on her Lanata Cardigan by Amy Christoffers. This is a bottom up raglan sleeve cardigan. Marsha completed the body up to the armholes while visiting Kelly. It was now time to start the sleeves and in the podcast Marsha and Kelly discuss how she modified the sleeves. Kelly searched her button stash and found buttons for the cardigan. Marsha started a new shawl called Antarktis by Janina Kallio. She is using Dragonfly Fibers Pixie in the color Zombie Apocalypse. Marsha brought some of her washed Merino and Shetland fiber that she purchased at the Black Sheep Gathering. She had some trouble carding and spinning the fiber and in the podcast we discuss how Kelly troubleshooted (troubleshot?) the problem. Marsha discusses her experience using Kelly's drum carder and Kelly gives carding tips. (Perhaps a video would be a better medium for explaining the carding tips! There was lots of handwaving during the recording of this part!) The other project that Kelly worked on while Marsha was visiting was the Playground Shawl by Justyna Lorkowska, using Alexandra's Crafts Merino/Tencel and a lone ball of Frogtree coral-colored alpaca. Besides her two new projects, Kelly has plans for a large three-color shawl.
