Rebecca & Kelee are back with a mix of rants and reflections. We start with the nonsense of corporate jargon and how people overcomplicate simple things with confusing lingo. Then, a tangent turns into a life lesson: wearing socks with holes is the perfect analogy for why you shouldn't wait for special occasions to use your best pieces. We wrap up by talking about our favorite movies and the big dreams we're chasing. A little random, a little cozy, and just like chatting with friends.

Clara Parkes became many knitters' guiding light and best friend when she launched Knitter's Review in 2000. One of the early standouts in the early online knitting landscape, the site developed a devoted following for its in-depth, objective yarn reviews and lively forums. Several years after the site's inception, she began writing books, starting with The Knitter's Book of Yarn, which was followed by The Knitter's Book of Wool and The Knitter's Book of Socks. As she explored the yarn industry, Clara carefully maintained a journalist's independence, taking readers along with her as she learned how the yarns we love come to be. After her first three books, which were large-format, full-color, and featured a number of designs, her following works have been memoirs of her literal and metaphorical travels or in-depth narratives reporting about the yarn world. In 2012, she launched the Great White Bale, a combination small-batch yarn experiment and behind-the-scenes tour of the remaining American wool industry, for which she purchased a very special bale of wool and reported on its progress through the process of becoming yarn. In recent years, she has created several online communities: The Wool Channel, which is devoted to celebrating wool, and The Daily Respite, which offers a moment of wonder and calm each morning. Clara invites knitters and readers to join her in exploring the ways in which wool is a force for good in the world, and how crafters can join in its support. In this Huberman Lab Essentials episode, my guest is Dr. Craig Heller, PhD, a professor of biology at Stanford University and a world expert on the science of temperature regulation. We discuss how the body and brain regulate temperature in different conditions and why conventional cooling methods, such as placing ice packs on the neck, do not effectively reduce core body temperature. Dr. Heller explains why cooling glabrous skin areas—the palms, soles and upper face—efficiently releases body heat and can significantly enhance physical performance and endurance. We discuss how targeted palmar cooling improves both short-term performance and long-term training adaptation in aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Read the episode show notes at hubermanlab.com. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Trish: Hi Dr. Cabral - I'm a 55-year-old female working on lowering overall inflammation in my body. My CRP levels are (4.1), ApoB (118 nmol/L and Lipoprotein (A) (281 nmol/L) as you can see are high. Total Cholesterol 221 and Triglycerides are 70. I have a lot of stiffness with joint discomfort. I started taking 2 Proteolytic Enzymes upon waking. Then your DNS, D3/k2, Cell Boost, Inflamma Soothe, Collagen with GLP Tone System and some of your other products (eye and hair). I follow your Med diet. My pain and stiffness have improved ALOT in a matter of days. I'm going to retest my CRP and chol levels in 4 months. My question is how long can I take Proteolytic Enzymes and in your opinion am I taking the proper protocol for these issues? I'm retesting in 4 mos. Thank you in advance Sheena: Hi Dr Cabral! Hope you and all of your health family are well. I'm a surgical Processor and on my feet all day. I've tried all kinds of compression socks but by the end of the day, after taking it off, my leg are soo itchy! I scratch it sometimes so bad it starts to bleed. I'm only wearing the average 15-20 mmHG so its not too tight. I'm curious if you have a recommendation for compression socks that wont causes itching but is effective? Thanks in advance for answering! Christina: Stephen, I have listened on one of your podcasts about Rheumatoid Arthritis and detoxing. My mother is in her early 70s and her fingers are twisting. I am 48 and recently the base of my thumbs have started bothering me. My question is, what detox protocol should my mother start with to prevent further twisting of her fingers and what detox protocol should I do to prevent this from happening to me? I would love to do the heavy metals and organic acid tests, but unfortunately I live in NY. Would my functional medicine doctor be able to order them for me? I have had HELLP, HUS, DIC, Guillian Barre, and Pulminary Edema in my pregnancy at 21. My son was delivered with no issues! At this time, we learned that I have ITTP. I have had IBS issues. Thank you, Christina Ryan: Hi dr cabral, Im a 29 year old male who has addisons disease, chronic post nasal drip, food intolerance's and teeth grinding a stool test confirmed klebsiella pneumonie overgrowth and blastocystis hominis as well as some yeast and fungus with no Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus detected, I recently started the cbo protocol with citricidal drops im 7 days in untill i came across one of your videos where you mentioned you should go for the parasite first should i stop the cbo protocol and start the para support protocol and then continue the cbo after or just continue the cbo protocol Thank you for your time wishing you all the best ryan. Kay: Hi Dr. Cabral, I I love your podcasts and look forward to them every week. Anyway, I was wondering if you could please explain how a traumatic event could spur the onset of a "dis-ease" such as asthma. My daughter's asthma began shortly after her father and I were separated and he moved out of state. According to her pediatrician at the time, she was "more prone to having asthma because she also had eczema." This was 2 decades ago, and now she's 31 and we know more about autoimmune issues. Although she continues to carry an inhaler with her, she hardly needs to use it anymore. What would you recommend for a more root cause approach to someone with her condition? Thank you. Edition No191 | 17-07-2025 - Putin's Economic Terminal Spiral — More Guns, No Butter, and Not Much of anything Else. This is what happens when you launch a war, alienate the civilized world, and try to run a dark-ages style empire on barrels of crude and a bunch of Telegram propagandists.Let's dig into the quiet implosion of the Russian economy – rampant inflation, falsified numbers, and a military-industrial complex so bloated it's eating the country alive. Let's start with the basics: Russia isn't just in a war—it's in a payment crisis. But unlike in the 1990s, the regime is denying it and trying to falsify economic figures to cover up the sale of the crisis. And unlike that 1990s, no one is coming to help in the West. Some presume that China and India will continue to support Russia, but those relationships are far shallower and more transactional than many assume. China will not be bailing out the Russian economy. ----------DESCRIPTION:Putin's Economic Terminal Spiral: The Imminent Collapse of Russia's EconomyThis episode delves into the severe economic crisis facing Russia as a result of its ongoing war and isolation from the global community. It explores rampant inflation, falsified economic data, and a massive military-industrial complex that's consuming the country's resources. With a focus on ghost payments, the depletion of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, and the struggle to maintain civilian infrastructure, the video highlights the unsustainable financial bubble that Putin's regime has built. The episode also discusses the broader implications for Russia's future as Western sanctions bite harder and public discontent rises.----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtain----------CHAPTERS:00:00 Introduction to the Series00:08 Putin's Economic Terminal Spiral00:50 The Quiet Implosion of the Russian Economy01:08 Russia's Payment Crisis02:34 The Ministry of Lies and Deferred Liabilities03:26 Military Spending and Civilian Struggles04:15 Inflation and Budget Deficit06:27 Western Sanctions and Import Substitution08:22 The Desperate Gamble08:46 Conclusion: The Looming Collapse----------LINKS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w501eh8QGTQ&t=156s ----------TRUSTED CHARITIES ON THE GROUND:Save Ukrainehttps://www.saveukraineua.org/Superhumans - Hospital for war traumashttps://superhumans.com/en/UNBROKEN - Treatment. In this episode, I sit down with Andrew Kemp, the passionate owner of Bare Kind, a brand of bamboo socks that's on a mission to save endangered animals one step at a time. What began with a desire to create a feel-good product has grown into a purpose-driven business that partners with over 30 animal charities, donates 10% of profits, and makes every sock design count. What I love about this conversation is how grounded Andrew is in the belief that consumer products can—and should—do good. We talk about sustainability, giving back, building a business in the UK and beyond, and why even something as simple as socks can become a platform for impact and joy. If you're building a brand or just want to shop more consciously, this one's for you. Here are a few highlights from our conversation: * How animal welfare and e-commerce collided to spark Bare Kind * The surprising power of giving 10% to charity and doing it transparently * Why bamboo is better for people, the planet, and your feet * How Bare Kind designs socks that start conversations and build community * Lessons on scaling a mission-driven brand without losing its soul Join me, Ramon Vela, in listening to the episode and discover how a pair of socks can help save the planet—one animal and one customer at a time. Whether you're an animal lover, sustainability enthusiast, or brand builder, Andrew's story will leave you inspired.
