Richard Otto - The Paradox of our National Security Complex: How secrecy and security diminish our liberty and threaten our democratic republicNovember 15Most Americans live very hectic lives and have little time to devote to reading lengthy tomes on a single subject, never mind researching these matters. Here, in a single volume, Richard Otto presents a series of compelling essays on Vietnam, Watergate and the assassinations of the 1960s. The Paradox of our National Security Complex examines the consequences of our militaristic and corporatist policies since World War II on our liberty, our security, and our democracy.BookBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.
On today's show, Richard Otto discusses the greatness of JFK, the smear campaign against him (so the world never learns how unique, good, and brave he was, and can't be inspired by him), and the lies that reinforce the dangerous national security complex that has captured the United States of America. GUEST OVERVIEW: Richard Otto discusses his books: THE PARADOX OF OUR NATIONAL SECURITY COMPLEX – how it undermines American security and liberty and democratic governments around the world; RETHINKING AMERICA: Lies Masquerading as Truth – what the killing of a popular president (JFK) in broad daylight revealed about America, and why the government covered up the truth about it; and THE HIDDEN WAR: The Desecration of the Promise of America – the consequences of the assassinations of the 1960s and how America devolved into an empire ruled by rapacious robber barons – exactly what America's founders warned against. Richard's books are available at Amazon and many of the usual sellers.

Co-host was cyberspecialist Norbert Bakker.
