The most important event in all of history was the resurrection of Jesus. The Son of God was dead and buried but raised to new life, defeating sin and death. Yet we are often left asking ourselves, "What does the resurrection of Jesus mean for me? What does it matter?" There are several instances in Scripture in which certain individuals had personal encounters with the Risen Lord Jesus after his resurrection. These encounters with the risen Jesus changed these individuals forever. In our new series, "Seeing is Believing: Face to face with the risen Jesus," we will be looking at four particular encounters people in the Scripture had with the Lord Jesus himself post-resurrection, that we may see how a personal relationship with the risen Lord Jesus may impact our lives today. This week, our Espanol campus pastor, Alfredo, teaches on the life of Paul. Paul had one of the most profound transformations we see in all of Scripture. Paul went from persecuting Christians to being one of history's greatest missionaries and writing the majority of the New Testament. What transformed Paul was his personal encounter with the Lord Jesus. We hope you're encouraged by this podcast! This week's message is about Thomas. Thomas is popularly referred to as "doubting Thomas." When we look at the story of Thomas and ask ourselves why it was that he doubted the resurrection, we can easily see what it is that causes us to doubt as well. More importantly, we see Jesus' response to our doubts and what he offers. He offers doubters his presence, his peace, and the proof of his love and power over sin. This week, we study Peter's transformation after encountering the Lord Jesus. Peter is a character in the Bible with a fair share of both highs and lows. In this message, Brent highlights both the worst and greatest moments in Peter's life. Peter denied Jesus three times the night he was betrayed, yet in the book of Acts, Peter's monumental sermon at Pentecost is what sparked the explosion of the church. What changed between these two events? What changed the course of Peter's life after he betrayed his Lord? It wasn't Peter's own efforts, or his own self-righteousness; it was by receiving forgiveness from the Lord Jesus after his resurrection. What does this mean for us? It means that Jesus was rejected so we will never be, Jesus defeated death so we never have to live in fear of it, and Jesus offers forgiveness and restoration if we will follow Him. Risen Lord Jesus, you came into the midst of fearful disciples and spoke your peace. You met Thomas in his doubt and drew him into faith. Breathe your Spirit upon us, that our fears may be stilled, our doubts held in your mercy, and our hearts opened to believe. Strengthen us to trust your promises and to live as witnesses of your resurrection; for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Sunday of Divine Mercy: when God in his great mercy, poured out to us all the grace of new life in his Son, our Risen Lord Jesus. May we treasure this precious gift of faith, hope and love and let its power be felt in our lives.Find readings here: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/041226.cfm

We begin our series by looking at the encounter that Mary Magdalene has with the risen Jesus. Mary Magdalene is the first person in Scripture to see Jesus after his resurrection. Mary changed Jesus' life, and in this account, we see that she stays behind and mourns the death of Jesus, and yet he seeks her, comforts her, and sends her to go tell the good news of the resurrection. We see from this story that for us, like Mary, the resurrection of Jesus means that our faithfulness invites God's favor, our sadness and despair can turn into joy, our purpose can change, and we can be accepted by the Father. In this Easter Sunday message, Pastor Dan Belshaw follows the journey of the disciples from confusion, grief and fear at Jesus' death to bold, joyful faith after encountering the risen Christ - a faith that ultimately got them killed. Even on the day of the resurrection, they struggled with doubt and disappointment - until Jesus met them personally, revealed himself through his wounds and opened the Scriptures to show that all of scripture pointed to him. In that moment, everything changed: fearful followers became courageous witnesses, carrying the gospel to the ends of the earth, even at great cost. The same invitation stands today - not to adopt an 'idea' of Jesus, but to encounter the living Lord Jesus who transforms lives, offers forgiveness and makes what is dead come alive.
This special Palm Sunday podcast is Krissy Bakke, the hippie Chirstian's perspective on three great sermons from three churches. In her defense of "stealing" their material, she does give all the churches and/or the clergy a shoutout. Don't think any of them will mind, so listen up and ponder for yourself as you walk through Holy Week 2026. Happy Easter friends and listeners as you celebrate a Risen Lord Jesus!
Unfinished business? The message of the risen Lord The hope of Israel, the kingdom of God Witnessed, explained, persuaded Proclaimed, taught The response to the risen Lord Some were convinced Others would not believe The (unfinished) mission of the risen Lord They will listen! Acts 29…
Do the ends justify the means? Ananias and the elders bear false witness, revealing their true motivation. Paul, amid false accusations, continues to be a calm and clear witness to the truth. Felix, needing to make a decision, chooses personal gain over the truth. Paul continues to bear faithful witness, sharing the Gospel and trusting in God.
An age of safetyism? Trial # 2: Before the Sanhedrin (22:30) Where does Paul get his courage? A good conscience (23:1) The word of God (23:2-5) The hope of the resurrection of the dead (23:6-10) The plan of the Lord who is near (23:11) Paul's courage is well founded: The Lord continues to work out his plan despite murderous plots (23:12-15) through a young man's quick thinking (23:16-22) using the powers of this world (23:23-35) Take courage!
An age of outrage? Trial #1: Paul before the crowd The crowd is outraged by half-truths (21:27-36) Paul sets the crowd straight… He was a Hebrew of Hebrews (21:37-22:5) He was chosen and transformed by Israel's Messiah (22:6-16) He was sent to the Gentiles by the Risen Lord (22:17-21) The crowd is (even more) outraged by the truth (22:22-24) Paul sets the commander straight (22:25-29) In an age of outrage: We preach Christ

This Sunday, we returned to our study of the book of Acts, Luke's second volume in the New Testament. As we return to the book of Acts, I want to remind you of a key truth this morning. Luke is recording for us the activity of the Triune God in advancing His mission through his church. This is not merely the story of a remarkable human religious movement. Luke does not want us to read the book of Acts as a biography of a human missionary movement. This is the sovereign hand of the Triune God fulfilling His promises in all of the Scriptures to bring the nations to Himself through His Son. Acts is a record of the unstoppable mission of God to reach the nations with the gospel. This is why New Testament scholar, Alan Thompson entitles his commentary on Acts, “The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus: Luke's Account of God's Unfolding Plan." He writes, “Luke is drawing attention to the continued outworking of God's saving purposes specifically in the inaugurated kingdom of God through the reign of the Lord Jesus . . . The focus of the book of Acts is actually on God.” (The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus, 29). Friends, the news often rattles believers. The culture wars have throughout history shaken Christians. It feels at times that evil will win. But as Luke will show, the promises and prophecies of God never fail. It is in the darkness of the world that Christ shines His light, and as He said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Let's pray together that God would fill our hearts with clarity of purpose and confident hope. The message is called "God's Church for God's Mission" and we will look at Acts 13:1-4. Let's worship together!

Lots of preparation for Easter, a big celebration but do we really talk about the Risen Lord Jesus and the 40 days he spent on earth after raising from the dead? Well, Krissy Bakke the hippie Christian wants you to join her for this very discussion. It's good stuff and food for thought. Cause did you know it's recorded that Jesus ate often in this time. Listen and learn.
