We continue walking through the Gospel of John by talking about how we are adopted into God's family as believers thanks to the grace offered to us by Jesus.
Do not just look at life's challenges; see them as opportunities to reflect God's grace and truth in action.
Your purpose is not just to survive, but to thrive by living in the truth and grace that God has given you.

In this incredible story of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we learn that all is not as it seems. While the crowd was looking towards this outcast of a man to save them from Roman rule, shouting "Hosanna!" and laying their clothes at His feet, Jesus was preparing Himself for what was to come - His ultimate rescue mission. A mission that was far from addressing the immediate concerns of the people, yet it addressed the deepest concern they didn't even know they had. The salvation of their very souls. Join us this week as we walk through John 12:12-19 together and ask the question: if you knew Jesus wasn't going to give you everything your really wanted, would you still worship him?
This week, Pastor Paul unpacks John 12:1-8 and we see how Mary, sister of Lazarus, responds to her encounters with Jesus Christ.

Our topic for this episode is God's greatest gift to us, grace. I've preached a lot of sermons on grace, I've written a few books on grace, but I never get tired of talking about this gift of being made right with God through his grace. As perfectly summarized in 1 Corinthians 5:18-21, "All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself, and God gave us the work of telling everyone about the peace we can have with him. God was in Christ, making peace between the world and himself. In Christ, God did not hold the world guilty of its sins. And he gave us this message of peace. So we have been sent to speak for Christ. It is as if God is calling to you through us. We speak for Christ when we beg you to be at peace with God. Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God." Watch the Ark in the Darkness HERE. Find out more from Hope For The Heart Here. Often we hear Grace and Mercy in the same sentence, however there is quite a difference in the meaning of Grace and Mercy! Grace is God applying His righteousness to sinners. His Grace is in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." His Mercy is God having compassion for us; overloooking our offenses and not giving to us what we deserve! Lamentations 3:22 "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not." Let us meditate this week upon this Triune God of Grace, Mercy, and Peace! 2 John 3 "Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love."
In this episode of The Mobilized Church Podcast, we explore one of the most vital qualities of a disciple: the ability to recognize and address the areas in their lives that are not like Jesus. Drawing from Jesus' teaching on judgment, we unpack the paradox of His words—where He calls us to extend the greatest grace to others while reserving the harshest judgment for ourselves. Join us as we discuss how this Christ-centered perspective can transform the way we grow as disciples and build stronger, grace-filled communities.

Romans: Foundations of Faith 6.30.24 Jonathan Goodman Romans 5:12-21
2 John 3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. I'm so encouraged by this verse today. What dynamics flow among believers who are in the truth and love with Jesus? John had just said that truth abides in them and will be with them forever. It follows then that when he wrote that grace, mercy, and peace will be with them, that he rightly assumed that those dynamics are present among them because Jesus, the truth, is with them. This is true of all believers in Jesus Christ. John understood that grace, mercy, and peace are with us because they are given to us from God, the Father and from Jesus Christ, His Son. He was compelled by the Spirit to state the fundamental truth that Jesus is God's Son, who lives in us, and through whom we receive these tremendous blessings. A friend of mine from South Africa recently shared about the grace and peace of God that he experienced from God as he lived to love with Jesus. He had a series of important appointments in the day, and had the peace of Christ in a very full schedule. He was sharing the blessing that had come from starting each day praying this prayer. Father, thank You for another day of life to know and love You and to live to love with Jesus. Anoint and fill me with the Holy Spirit, the presence and power of Christ, so that I can love and trust You and love those You put in my path today, for Your glory. If you haven't already made this prayer a starting point for your day, I encourage you to do so. If it's helpful to you, write it in your own words. I think you'll find you are praying in the truth and love of God, which will open the channel for grace, mercy, and peace to permeate your life each day.

“As we lean on Jesus, we become unrecognizable. The pain that was supposed to distort us then comes, and Jesus turns it around, and we end up looking like our Beloved.” - Stephanie ClaiborneGod is inviting us to lean into Him in this season, because it is there that transformation, healing, wholeness, and restoration are found. In this episode, Liz connects with Stephanie Claiborne, CEO, President, and Co-Founder of Heart of Gold Ministries International. Stephanie shares her testimonies of how she has seen the Lord working within the IMC (International Mentoring Community) and the recent revelations that the Lord has unlocked for her that is meant for the Body.In the pursuit of a deeper union with God, and a greater freedom to walk in the fullness of who He has created us to be, the IMC has had thousands of testimonies—and recently, some specific to people getting freedom from trauma. In this time of intentional growth and development, we are watching people blossom, shed old mindsets and old perspectives of themselves. That's a reset of your heart that only God can do, and in IMC, there is a very pure, very holy way that the Holy Spirit is moving. We're living consistently from the strength of our union with Him, by faith, not by sight. One of the keys unlocked for Stephanie that she shares throughout the episode is regarding the transformation that comes from wholly leaning on our Beloved Jesus, as seen in Song of Solomon 8:5. When we take the opportunity to lean into what the Lord is doing, we come out of these seasons with testimonies. Leaning on Him looks like letting go on the inside, trusting that the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for you is true and looking to Him to meet your every need. If you're struggling with unbelief or overwhelm, receive this time of prayer and allow your heart to lean into Him and rest. During this time, you are also being invited to receive a prayer of grace for a deeper surrender, a greater boldness, and a faith to experience healing and wholeness. As you listen to these keys and hear Liz and Stephanie's prayers, we believe that you will receive the grace to lean on your Beloved, to access the breakthroughs of healing and wholeness, and to walk in a greater union with the Body and with Christ to be a powerful force for the Kingdom of God!

This calls us back to Israels time in the wilderness and their failure to walk with God. It also calls us back to Adam's failure to walk with God. Jesus succeeds where the rest of humanity has failed. Through Jesus' fulfillment of the law, God offers us grace which covers all our sins.
In this podcast episode titled "Stepping into the New Creation Part 2: Living a Life That Invites Others to Follow Jesus," the host, Dr. Jeffrey D. Skinner, explores the concept of living a life that attracts others to follow Jesus. He begins by acknowledging that we live in a post-Christian world where biblical literacy is not as prevalent as before. The host highlights the disconnect between Christians who live by one worldview and the rest of the world that lives by a different story. The episode introduces the concept of centered set theology as an alternative to bounded set theology. Centered set theology emphasizes movement towards Jesus and focuses on relationship rather than strict adherence to a specific ideology or set of beliefs. It encourages welcoming all individuals and gauging their proximity to Jesus as a measure of their faith, rather than creating boundaries and exclusions based on agreement with specific doctrines. The host emphasizes the importance of living a life that reflects the love and acceptance demonstrated by Jesus, rather than trying to control or impose beliefs on others. He discusses the need for an atmosphere of hospitality within individuals and institutions, and the idea that the church should be missional and self-giving, following God's example of being sent into the world to save it.The episode also touches on the boundaries and guidelines set by denominations, using the example of the Church of the Nazarene, which prohibits drinking alcohol and using tobacco. While these boundaries exist, the host emphasizes that they do not exclude individuals from attending or being part of the community, but rather serve as principles that those within the denomination agree to uphold. The episode concludes by highlighting the goal of centered set theology, which is to become more like Jesus and experience abundant life through a close relationship with Him. It hints at a future episode where the concept of bounded set theology will be explored.the Raw Transcript can be found here.

We conclude our sermon series called the Transformed Life this week by looking at Simon Peter. We dive into scripture to look at Simon Peter's face-to-face encounter with Jesus that changed his life. What we see as Simon remembers, is restored by, and eventually recommissioned by the grace of Jesus Christ, we learn that we should follow Him and not compare ourselves with someone else. When we do follow Jesus, our lives will reflect Him through faithful obedience, unwavering love, and a passionate commitment to Him. Jerry Bridges puts it like this - “You are loved and accepted by God through the merit of Jesus… Nothing you ever do will cause him to love you any more or any less. He loves you strictly by His grace given to you through Jesus.” Have you accepted Jesus? Are you following him? Do you have questions? We'd love to connect with you, answer any questions you have, and take time to pray with you. Reach out today. Learning to be religious like Jesus means choosing humility like Jesus. Humility requires being aware of self-centered ideology and refusing to let it become our way of life. God's word says he opposes the proud, but lifts up the humble with honor and sets their feet on solid rock.

Welcome to Fall 2021. This semester 108 North is looking at the story of Jesus to learn who He really is. Every week we will be examining interactions and conversations Jesus has in the Gospel of John learning along the way who Jesus is according to scripture. This week we dive in talking about Jesus being full of Grace and Truth. "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John testified concerning him and exclaimed, “This was the one of whom I said, ‘The one coming after me ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.' ”) 16 Indeed, we have all received grace upon grace from his fullness, 17 for the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. The one and only Son, who is himself God and is at the Father's side —he has revealed him." -- John 1:14-18 (CSB)108 North | FBC Statesboro College Ministry.
