#celticfc #celticsoul #podcastGlasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 MinutesEditor Andrew Milne for a Summer catch up on all things Celtic. 10 Days on fromthe Cup Final the bhoys are back to talking about the current state of play at Celtic.Celtic do not have a manager in place, a permanentchairman or woman, a head of recruitment , Michael Nicholson is still the CEOand Dermot Desmond has held talks with O'Neill and Robbie Keane. Celtic fansare not Keane on Robbie that's for sure. Seems to be business as usual. The Summer rebuild seems on hold after twopoor transfer windows at a time when the Celtic squad is top heavy withpassengers picking up a wage. The Celtic board have wasted so much money onpaying off managers and brining in some players who can't even make the bench. Hopefully Celtic can hold on to their best players andbuild on it but the bhoys have little trust in the current Celtic boardespecially now that two Green Brigade members who were allowed back in toCeltic Park after the Blanket ban on the group was lifted have not been allowedto renew their season books. #celticfc #celticsoul #podcastGlasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for their weekly catch up on all things Celtic. The bhoys are in fine form once again after celebrating Celtic's Scottish Cup win on Saturday at Hampden Park.A 3-1 win for the Hoops was enough to secure a League and Cup double for Celtic. The bhoys are in no doubt that Martin O'Neill is the reason why Celtic were able to turn the season around after so many lows the season finished on such a high. The Summer rebuild is up for discussion both on and off the park. Who will be the Celtic manager, what players will go and who will stay? Will the Celtic's CEO leave? So many questions to be answered over the short summer break before we head off following the bhoys in pre-season. The media meltdown in Scotland continues as Shankland jumps ship from Hearts to join the rangers. Celtic have ruined so many peoples summer because they were Simply the Best in the end and there was Sunshine on Leith once again. For the week that is in it the bhoys look back at the Legacy left behind by the Lisbon Lions and some of the unsung heroes of 1967. The bhoys look back at the last week following Celtic to Motherwell and the East End of Glasgow. This followed on from beating the rangers in the Glasgow Derby. #celticfc #celticsoul #podcastGlasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for their weekly catch up on all things Celtic ahead of Celtic's trip to Motherwell for a massive midweek game, while Hearts welcome Falkirk. The Edinburgh side are still 1 point ahead of Celtic in the SPFL table after Motherwell took a point off them on Saturday night and Celtic enjoyed a fantastic Sunday beating the rangers 3-1 to set up tense finish to the title race. The Bhoys are still buzzing after Sunday's big win. Maeda grabbed the headlines, but Scales, McGregor, Engels and Tierney deserve massive praise also. Maeda's third goal was up there with Henrik's goal in the 6-2 win back when Martin O'Neill faced Rangers for the first time at Celtic Park. If it is to be O'Neill's last battle in the Glasgow Derby than it will be always remembered for Maeda's second goal which has been replayed repeatedly by the Celtic fans from every angle possible since then. The atmosphere was electric and there was a fitting tribute to Celtic fan Franny Mullen when a Tifo was unveiled in the North Curve, a legend within the Celtic support. The bhoys remembered Franny and exchanged stories about one of life's true characters. As per usual the bhoys finish off the podcast with a trip down memory lane and remember some famous Celtic goals against Rangers including George McCluskey's Cup Final goal which sparked a riot at Hampden and one from the great Paul McStay, one of Celtic's greatest ever servants. How does the entire Bible fit together? In this episode of inContext, Michael Easley sits down with New Testament scholar Alan Thompson, author of A Basic Guide to Biblical Theology, to explore how Scripture unfolds as one unified story. They unpack the difference between exegesis, biblical theology, and systematic theology—and explain why context is king when reading the Bible. You'll learn how the major covenants (Abrahamic, Mosaic, Davidic, and New) progressively reveal God's redemptive plan, how Jesus fulfills those promises, and what He meant when He said the Kingdom of God was “at hand.” They also explore the “now and not yet” tension in the New Testament, the meaning of inheriting the Kingdom, the Exodus as a pattern of redemption, temple imagery throughout Scripture, and the breathtaking vision of the holy city in Revelation 21. If you want to grow deeper in your understanding of Scripture—and think theologically about your faith—this conversation will strengthen your confidence in God's Word.Subscribe for more in-depth biblical conversations. This Sunday, we returned to our study of the book of Acts, Luke's second volume in the New Testament. As we return to the book of Acts, I want to remind you of a key truth this morning. Luke is recording for us the activity of the Triune God in advancing His mission through his church. This is not merely the story of a remarkable human religious movement. Luke does not want us to read the book of Acts as a biography of a human missionary movement. This is the sovereign hand of the Triune God fulfilling His promises in all of the Scriptures to bring the nations to Himself through His Son.    Acts is a record of the unstoppable mission of God to reach the nations with the gospel. This is why New Testament scholar, Alan Thompson entitles his commentary on Acts, “The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus: Luke's Account of God's Unfolding Plan." He writes, “Luke is drawing attention to the continued outworking of God's saving purposes specifically in the inaugurated kingdom of God through the reign of the Lord Jesus . . . The focus of the book of Acts is actually on God.” (The Acts of the Risen Lord Jesus, 29). Friends, the news often rattles believers. The culture wars have throughout history shaken Christians. It feels at times that evil will win. But as Luke will show, the promises and prophecies of God never fail. It is in the darkness of the world that Christ shines His light, and as He said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Let's pray together that God would fill our hearts with clarity of purpose and confident hope. The message is called "God's Church for God's Mission" and we will look at Acts 13:1-4. Let's worship together!

Ian Taylor joins us this week, remembered by fans for being at the heart of Aston Villa's midfield and remembered by teammates for being the entertainments manager. Starting out at Port Vale at the age of 23, Taylor had to take a wage cut from his job as a forklift driver to become a professional footballer on the plus side he got given a car which disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Once at Aston Villa he hit the ground rolling in a team with big personalties including Saša Ćurčić, Dwight Yorke, Alan Thompson & of course former England Manager Gareth Southgate. In a surprising revelation we hear that Gareth Southgate may not be as strait laced as everyone thinks and loved surrounding himself with the mavericks of that great Aston Villa side. We also dig into how Villa went from top of the league at Christmas to finishing closer to the relegation zone than the title, while exploring Stan Collymore's short fuse and Dwight Yorke's impact on Birmingham both on and off the field. "I thought I'd come to paradise,” said Jane Ball Groom upon arriving in Soul City, North Carolina. It wasn't amenities or location that made Soul City paradise, but the promise of what it could be: a city built by Black people, for Black people. Our guests take us back to 1969 when the city was founded and built from (below) the ground up — and while the city itself was short-lived, we'll see how the seeds it sowed laid roots for spaces that celebrate and center Black culture today. For photos from the episode and more on the history of Soul City, head to the Souvenir Book of Soul City in the North Carolina digital collections.Special thanks to Shirlette Ammons who we could not do this story without, and our guests Charmaine McKissick-Melton, Jane Ball-Groom, Lianndra Davis, Lou Myers, Tobias Rose, and Derrick Beasley. A couple of terms have found their way into the MS lexicon and they have left some people living with MS feeling confused and even frightened. If you've been diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS and you've always assumed that disease progression only occurs at the time of a relapse, you may be wondering what progression independent of relapse activity, or PIRA, means and how it may or may not impact your MS journey. And if you are someone whose MS seems relatively stable and well-managed, you may be wondering whether your central nervous system is under some sort of silent attack from smoldering MS.  Professor Alan Thompson joins me this week to shine a bright light on what, for many, are anxiety-inducing terms and help us understand what they are actually attempting to describe. Professor Thompson is the recipient of virtually every high honor and award that's given in the field of multiple sclerosis research, including the John Dystel Prize for MS Research in 2017, the Sobek Research Prize in 2020, and the 2021 Charcot Award, which recognizes a lifetime of achievement in outstanding research into understanding and treating MS. We're also sharing results of a study that suggests that kids and teens who are living with MS may experience better outcomes if they are started on a high-efficacy disease-modifying therapy. We'll tell you about a study that adds to the evidence that autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation may be a highly effective treatment that allows some people living with MS to live symptom-free and even return to the workforce. We're sharing the details of an AI tool that can predict an individual's disease course, while we're talking about survey results that show some strong push-back from the patient community when it comes to using artificial intelligence in the diagnostic process. And we'll tell you about a study that shows that caffeine may improve balance, mobility, and even quality of life for people living with MS. We have a lot to talk about! Are you ready for RealTalk MS??!
