In this bold and Spirit-led episode of Compelled, Emma Mae McDaniel delivers a heartfelt and challenging message from Revelation 3, calling believers out of spiritual complacency. Drawing from Jesus' letter to the church in Laodicea, Emma unpacks the meaning behind lukewarm faith—what it looked like then and how it still shows up in our lives today. With powerful imagery, historical context, and unflinching honesty, she reminds us that God's discipline is rooted in love and that His correction is an invitation to closeness, not condemnation. This episode isn't filled with warm fuzzies—it's a wake-up call to rise, repent, and live fully devoted to the One who knows us completely and still calls us His own. But even though Joe spent much of his life as a devoted Jew, practicing rabbinical rules and trying to earn favor with God, something still seemed to be missing. After attending a cult meeting, Joe was so unsettled by the cult's depiction of Jesus, he decided to read a Christian Bible for the first time… and had no idea what God was about to do. So many clinicians are passionate about ensuring their clients get everything they need to gain the level of independence and quality of life they deserve after diagnosis. The disappointing part is they don't always have access to the expert care they need. That's where Leann Vitale, MS, OTR/L found herself several years ago realizing she had a dream to start her own practice in order to fill the gap. Taking that leap is scary and risky. Fortunately she met the perfect contact and mentor to get her going! In this episode of the I Love Neuro podcast, Leann shares her transformative journey from hospital-based therapy to founding Orange County Occupational and Physical Therapy (OC OT and PT), a specialized neurological rehabilitation practice. Driven by a passion for helping patients with Parkinson's disease and stroke recovery, Leanne took a bold leap of faith, quitting her hospital job and collaborating with Claire at Rogue to create an innovative care model that bridges the gap between individual therapy and ongoing wellness. Leann's approach is unique in its commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care. She shares the challenges and thoughtful decisions she made about her 60-minute model of care, accepting insurance and other decisions that felt right to her. This is Part 2 of Lori Apon's story. Make sure to listen to Part 1 first. Lori met Bobby Apon, the love of her life at a Christian concert. He was one of the founding members of NewSong, an upcoming Christian music group. Bobby was young, charismatic, and good-looking, and quickly swept Lori off her feet. After a romance and engagement that seemed straight out of a fairytale, they were married. But at the wedding altar, both Lori and Bobby were in bondage to sin. Lori carried an eating disorder, stemming from her desire to be in control. And Bobby was addicted to lust and pornography. Both of them loved Jesus and wanted to be free... but it was a struggle for both of them... especially for Bobby, who was always on the road with NewSong, performing Christian concerts. No one in the band knew what he was going through, and not a soul in their audiences listening every night were aware of Bobby's inner turmoil that haunted him. But as Lori would discover, as painful and devastating the consequences of sin may be, even greater is the power of God to restore the lost and redeem what was broken. “You know Jesus loves you. He really loves you.” Those were the last words of John Daniels. Just seconds after he’d given a homeless man money and shared those parting words, he was struck by a car and instantly killed. The printed program for the service that celebrated John’s life included these words: “He wanted to figure out how he could reach more people, so on a Sunday afternoon, trying to help a man in need, God gave him a way to reach the world. All of the local TV channels carried the news and it reached friends, family, and many others all over the country.” Though John Daniels wasn’t a preacher, he was compelled to tell others about Jesus. So was Paul. In Acts 20, the apostle expressed his zeal for the gospel in his parting words to the church leaders at Ephesus: “My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace” (v. 24). The good news of forgiveness and new life in Jesus is too good not to share with others. Some believers are more skilled at explaining the gospel than others. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, all who’ve experienced its life-changing power can tell their story of God’s love.
