In the last installment of this study, we examined the second half of Romans Ch. 7. I stressed the importance of context in understanding the text. It describes the life lived according to the flesh, attempting to keep the law under our own power. This is not the life that we are meant to live as children of God. As we move into Ch. 8, we see the distinction drawn more clearly as we learn that it is impossible to please God that way. But do not be discourage. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. (Romans 8:1-2 LSB)

Expositional style teaching of Romans CH 5:12-14 addressing within the sovereign rule of God, how sin was and is dealt with. We will explore some of the details as it pertains to sin from Adam to Moses, look into how the Lord has always communicated His ways to man without the law, show how the Christian faith is exclusive in dealing with sin, and explain the process of God's transference of sin to His Son for the redemption of mankind. Taught by Assistant Pastor Mac at Calvary Kaneohe Hawaii.
As we enter into a new major section on Romans (Ch 5-8) the guys zero in on the benefits that Christ mediates to his people. These benefits are objective in their reality but also may be experienced subjectively in the believer's life. Tune is George and Jay explain and apply the text to our lives. Conformed to Christ aims to engage the mind, affect the heart, and call people to follow Christ. Additionally, our aim is to introduce and explain passages of Scripture and difficult theological doctrines in a down-to-earth and easy-to-grasp manner. Theology and the Bible should impact your life, and our goal is that we might play a small part in seeing that happen. Send us a textPaul ends his letter to the Roman believers with his final greetings.
Dan Gillies preaches on the subject of “hope” from Romans Ch 8. First, the hope of creation, and then second, the hope of the church. Reading: Rom 8:18-25 (Recorded at the Belfast Easter Conference, April 2022) The post How Bright That Blessed Hope (36 min) first appeared on Gospel Hall Audio.
Send us a textWhen we first began our Road Trip, Paul reminded us that the only way to fulfil God's commandments is with God, not on our own. God has given us His word to follow, His Son as an example. The whole bible, not a verse here and there to pick and chose what fits our needs or worldly beliefs, was written to teach us and to give us endurance and more importantly give us hope. John and Sean concludes their Road Trip through Paul's book of Romans, by looking into Chapters 15 and 16.
Send us a textEvery believer should become familiar with Romans 14. It's here that we are taught to be respectful toward other believers who don't share some of our convictions. We focus on Jesus and His love for us and stay in fellowship with those believers who are focusing on Jesus and His love as well and let all the little things go.
Send us a textBeing a Christ Follower is hard enough, we need to be an encourager of the faith not a stumbling block. In this episode, John and Sean continue their Road Trip through Paul's writing of Romans Chapter 14. "For we don't live for ourselves or die for ourselves."
Send us a textSubmitting to the governing authorities as commanded by God is a very good witness. Those who refuse to submit to authority and claim to be Christians are behaving contrary to God's commands and character.
Send us a textDo you truly believe that God is in control? During a time of elections Paul reminds us that "all authority comes from GOD and those placed in position of authority have been placed there by God.' So how do we go on if our worldly political party won or didn't win. Join Sean and John as they continue their Road Trip through the book of Romans This episode cover Chapter 13, which reminds us we don't serve an elephant or a donkey, we serve the Lamb.
Send us a textIn Roman's Ch. 12 Paul begins with a call to be renewed in the power of the Holy Spirit. He then goes into what the power of the Holy Spirit looks like regarding the behavior believers are accountable for as the Holy Spirit gives certain gifts to certain people in accordance with God's will. Then wrapping up the chapter Paul describes what a true child of God's behavior should look like and things we are expected to not only do but also be known for.
Send us a textPrevious roads have been Seeing who God is and what God has done for us, then we merged onto the road of we cannot do this on our own. Now it is time for our journey to merge onto the road to who we are and what we are to do. So, Buckle up and join Sean and John, as they go through Chapter 12 of the book of Romans.
Keep our eye on the prize! For God, His prize is everyone of his children. God choose the Abraham too be the earthly father of all Nations, but just like all earthly children, some heads or hearts can be quite difficult. We decide to take the easy path because let's face it, they call it easy for a reason. Despite that. God still has His eye on His Prize. This is why Paul tells in Chapter 11 in his letter to the church in Rome, that we are called to deliver the Good News to everyone and i mean everyone, both Jews and Gentiles. John and Sean continue their Road Trip through the book Romans and in this episode chapter 11.
Send us a textPaul concludes his discussion about whether or not God has rejected the nation Israel.
Paul tells us that his heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief for his people and he would give up his life and be cut off from Christ if that would save them. The day you accepted God as your Lord and Savior you accepted His call to share the Good News. Join John and Sean as they continue on their "Road Trip" through the book of Romans.
Send us a textPaul will now challenge the unbelieving Jews according to their own Scriptures regarding Jesus in an effort to get through to them.
Some believers find the fact of God's sovereignty to be confusing, but we should all find it be comforting! If God wasn't in complete control, we'd really be in trouble! Join me now in Romans Ch. 9, as we talk about God's wonderful sovereignty.
Send us a textIn chapter 9 Paul is now coming to the defense of the Jews who were at this time being looked upon as a people whom God was finished with. Now that God was moving through the church and the gospel was bringing a multitude to Him through the Holy Spirit's work in the lives of many, what further need was there for the Jews? Paul declares the still relevant in God's plan.
God's SPIRIT is ALIVE in you. This episode was recorded LIVE at HOPE Church. John and Sean continued this series called "Road Trip" by talking about Romans Chapter 8. You can also watch it on https://www.facebook.com/hopechurchindy
Send us a textIn my opinion, Romans chapter 8 is one of the most important chapters in Scripture to really delve into and heed. I often emphasis walking in the Spirit because the alternative, walking in the flesh, does nothing good for the believer, their eternity or the Kingdom of God. We must live our lives obedient to the Spirit and battle the flesh moment by moment if we want to please God and be rewarded in eternity. Romans 8 reveals a lot about this battle between the flesh and the Spirit.
You did not miss an episode. Since Pastor Johnny covered Chapter 6 in his message, We decided to cover Chapter 7 on this episode. You can hear all of the messages from Hope Covenant Church (@ Hopecov.org ) Paul reveals the true hero throughout the bible in Chapter 7. Too many times we place the Apostle's on a pedestals when in reality they are just as flawed as we are. Paul tells us that He is a slave to sin. "I want to do what is right, but I can't" Join John and Sean as we continue in this series called "Road Trip."
Who I was and Who I am is all because of two people that walked on this earth. I was a slave to sin because of Adam and now I have hope because of Jesus Christ. Join John and Sean as we continue our Road Trip through the book of Romans in Chapter 5.
Send us a textThe greatest battle believers fight is the sin within us. Getting people to understand that the sin in us is something God can overcome in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit seems to be a task that constantly needs to be reiterated. Chapter 7 is basically the defeating power of our flesh and chapter 8 is the victory in Jesus. So the two chapters go together forming a sobering look at each at the state of our lives without the power of the Holy Spirit and the victory that we can have if we are willing to surrender to Jesus.
During the recent Olympic Games in Paris, women were competing on the balance beam in gymnastics. Amazingly, that bean, while 16 feet long, is only 4 inches wide! That's how it sometimes feels when it comes to balancing the Christian faith - easy to fall off. Join me in Romans Ch. 7, as Paul talks about balancing our faith.
Remember the old Bob Dylan song, "Gotta serve somebody?" His lyrics included the words, "It may be the devil, or it may be the Lord, but you gotta serve somebody." Well according to Romans Ch. 6, Dylans lyrics are spot on! As the apostle Paul explains, we're either slaves to sin or servants of God. Let's take a closer look at that together now in this podcast message!
In the 5th chapter of Romans, Paul describes how we're justified by faith, along with all of the blessings that we receive in Christ. Then Paul goes on to contrast the first man - Adam, and our sin; with the second Man - Jesus, and our salvation. Join us now as we dig deeper into the spiritual riches of Romans Ch. 5
Send us a textBeing "baptized into Christ" brings the believer into that real relationship with Jesus. Afterward "water baptism" is a declaration that the spiritual baptism has occurred and the new life has now begun.
How was Abraham saved? How was David saved? How was Paul saved? How can you be saved?? There's only one way - and it's apart from anything we can do. Let's talk about saving faith in Romans Ch. 4
Send us a textContinuing our study in the book of Romans we come to chapter 5 where our suffering serves as a process ending with the love of God being poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Also sin abounds but grace abounds more.
Send us a Text Message.Romans ch. 4 shows us the important of faith and uses Abraham as the example.
Send us a Text Message.Continuing in the letter to the Romans, we now learn the entire world is guilty of sin before God. But God has provided salvation through Jesus despite our guilt.
Send us a Text Message.Paul, after revealing the gentile's hearts toward obeying the Word, now comes to the point where he will challenge those Jews who relied on their own self righteousness to be right with God. They appear to have had an attitude where they could practice sin yet condemned the gentiles for their sin.
Send us a Text Message.Paul's letter to the believers in Rome is a classic theological gold mine for the believer. Ch. 1 discusses the steps of rebellion mankind has continually taken and God's response to allow the consequences to enter in.
