Greetings Citizens, Last night we learned that the voice of our game master – the one and only Wayne June has passed on. Wayne was kind enough to reply to my email about working together, and while our plans for future projects will not come to pass, we feel fortunate to have worked with him on Liberty: Vigilance. I first learned of Wayne June as a teenager, through his brilliant narrations on the many works of H.P. Lovecraft. He was my introduction to The Call of Cthulhu, and those narrations largely inspired the tone of Dark Dice. He will be missed. We thought it important to share this news between episodes, as his voice will be very present for the remainder of this season, though unfortunately not as present in future stories as we'd planned. You can hear more of his voice and works in the video game Darkest Dungeon – and it's sequel Darkest Dungeon 2 by Red Hook Games – as well as on more than a few audio books that are still available digitally and in rare cases – CD. Rowan, Len, and Nerium hitch their wagon to Darkest Dungeon 2 and set in for the long haul on this epic-length episode. We discuss some of the ways this sequel is an improvement over one of 3MA's consensus favorite games of all time (that we somehow never did a dedicated episode on), and several ways in which it's not. What kind of parties did we like to roll with? How have things changed since early access? And is there a cooler narrator than Wayne June? By the end, you might even get to hear us have a Meltdown!
Greetings adventurers,You are here because you enjoy the stories that we make... and... while we're currently working very hard to bring the next installment of Dark Dice, we thought you might enjoy hearing our first TTRPG, Liberty: Vigilance. Join Peter Joseph Lewis, the voice of Soren Arkwright, and Kaitlin Statz, the voice of Sister Cavernsfall, as they work with Sean Daniel Francis, Caitlin Buckley, Daniel Throison, and Ashly Burch - the voice of Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn - to uncover a terrible conspiracy surrounding their brainwashed home. I was also the Game Master, but I had a bit of a mental insecurity about my own voice, so instead of hearing me, you'll hear one of my all time favorite voice actors WAYNE JUNE reading my parts, in addition to a cast of over 30 voice actors taking the roles of the NPC's. These are the voices of Duke Nukem, The Walking Dead, Space Ghost, and so many more, with the same sound designer, me, and an already-complete story told over 13 chapters. You've made it this far, so get ready... for Liberty: Vigilance!Find the rest on this feed:https://play.acast.com/s/the-liberty-podcast/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

He's the voice of the video game Darkest Dungeon and an upcoming DLC for DOTA 2! He also spent the better part of a decade touring worldwide with Johnny Winter. This week I am joined by Wayne June, voiceover artist and narrator with extensive experience in the audiobook industry. He is perhaps best known recently for his work as the voice of the Darkest Dungeon; he performs the lines of The Ancestor, who serves as the narrator throughout the game. Wayne first discusses his years as a musician and touring with the guitar icon, Johnny Winter. He pivots to detail how he became interested in the voice recording business, and how he found a niche in "creepy" literature such as volumes of H.P. Lovecraft works. Wayne talks about the shift from collaborating in a band to the isolation of voice work, and how the request from the Darkest Dungeon team thrust him into the gaming community. He shares the process for finding the voice of The Ancestor, and what it's been like to gain attention for his work in the game. He closes by talking about current audiobook and gaming projects.
Join Leah as she talks with Wayne June. Music: For six years (2001-2007) I played drums and sang with Johnny Winter and played on his 2005 recording, the Grammy-Nominated "I'm a Bluesman" on the Virgin label. We did several world tours during my tenure as well as playing literally every state in the Union, and I had the opportunity to play during that time with Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, and a host of other childhood heroes of mine who sat in with the band. Voiceover/Narration: Around 1998 I started to develop an interest in voiceover, and started an internet-based audio production and voiceover-narration business, which I'm happy to say is thriving. Having been an audiobook fan and an avid reader all my life, it was a natural development of interests, opportunity and circumstance that led to the latest branch of my business activities, which includes audiobook production and narration for independent publishers and authors. http://www.waynejune.com/ https://twitter.com/Wayne_June https://www.facebook.com/wayne.june.77 https://soundcloud.com/wayne1 https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Worlds-H-P-Lovecraft/dp/B004BDTXFK Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/
The Lovecraft eZine panel interviews Wayne June! Lovecraft fans know Wayne from his excellent audio readings of Lovecraft's tales ("The Dark Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft": http://amzn.to/1QEXOIX ). After that, we discussed some brand new Lovecraftian books, and more.
