In today's Daily Fix:In light of Sony's lawsuit, megapublisher Tencent has changed some of the assets on the Steam page for Light of Motiram. The game fell into Sony's crosshairs for looking a lot like their Horizon Zero Dawn games, and judging by some of those marketing assets, Sony might have a case. Tencent has changed the description and some of the art featuring a female protagonist that looks an awful lot like Horizon's Aloy, as well as easing up on mentions of giant mechanical beasts. In other news, Bethesda's Starfield may finally be giving fans what they want: the ability to fly between planets. Although not officially announced, the new 'feature' won't be exactly like No Man's Sky's key feature of letting you take off from a planet's surface, fly into space, through the atmosphere of another planet, and onto that surface without an obvious loading screen. Starfield is getting a PS5 port sometime next year, and could see some new feaures added, like the aforementioned 'flying between planets' ability. And finally, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is promsing BioShock 4 will come out, despite recent news that the game had failed an internal review after years of development.

El juego acusado, Light of Motiram, aún no ha sido lanzado, pero ya está generando controversia. Sony dice que ese título es una copia tan directa de Horizon Zero Dawn que hasta el personaje protagonista, el estilo visual y los animales robóticos del mundo postapocalíptico se parecen demasiado. La empresa japonesa está pidiendo que el juego no llegue al mercado y que Tencent entregue todo el material promocional para destruirlo.  ¿Pero hasta qué punto se puede parecer un videojuego?  En 2017, Sony lanzó Horizon Zero Dawn para la consola PlayStation 4. El universo del juego mezcla tecnología con tribus humanas que viven como en la prehistoria. Su historia, sus escenarios, su estética y hasta su música marcaron tanto al público que rápidamente se convirtió en una franquicia valiosa para Sony, con secuelas, merchandising y hasta planes para una serie de televisión.Ahora, Sony alega que Tencent —un gigante de la tecnología con sede en China y dueño de varias empresas de videojuegos— desarrolló en secreto un nuevo juego llamado Light of Motiram con una historia, estilo gráfico y personajes que se parecen demasiado a los de Horizon.Sony no está reaccionando por simple capricho. The Southeastern 16 crew of Graham Doty, Chris Lee and Jay Greeson looks at the field of four in the Fayetteville Regional and gives our picks. Arkansas is a legitimate national title contender. How will the Razorbacks structure their pitching? What kind of outing will they get from Zach Root or Landon Beidelschies, who are talented but not always consistent? Maybe the bigger questions are whether anyone can effectively pitch to the powerful Razorback lineup led by Brent Iredale, Cam Kozeal and the Aloy brothers, or go toe-to-toe with a number of power arms in the Razorback bullpen, which also has dependable veteran Will McIntyre, too. Kansas mashed 100 home runs, led by Jackson Hauge (19), Brady Ballinger (16), Brady Counsell (12) and Michael Brooks and Saywer Smith (nine each), with Ballinger posting a .363/.507/.693 batting line. Can a pitching staff led by Dominic Voegele and Cooper Moore handle enough innings for the Jayhawks to advance? Creighton comes in hot after winning a competitive Big East tournament. The Bluejays hit just 48 home runs but got on base at a .401 clip as a team and have arms in Dominic Cancellieri, Garrett Langrell and Matthew Aukerman who can make life difficult. North Dakota St. may be the weakest offensive team in the tournament, and hit just 29 home runs this year. The Bison will need good tournaments from Nolan Johnson, Danny Lachenmayer and others to pull an upset.

Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Horizon Forbidden West have had an uphill battle to become some of the most successful AAA open world games. The first entry released alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the follow-up came out just ahead of Elden Ring, two games that are not just direct competitors for the Horizon series, but also genre re-defining titles. Yet, much like the series' protagonist, Aloy, the Horizon games have persisted. They have eventually found their audience and have delivered some of the best Open World gaming the current generation has seen as of 2025. Topics include: Tennessee's Liam Doyle has his second-straight dominant start, striking out 14 hitters over 5 1/3 innings, while Tanner Franklin goes the rest of the way and whiffs six in the Vols' 5-1 victory over Samford. LSU led start to finish in a 4-2 win over Nebraska-Omaha has Kade Anderson, Connor Benge, Mavrick Rizy and Casan Evans combine to strike out 14. Texas A&M's Ryan Prager threw five shutout innings and Gavin Grahovac homered in a 6-1 victory over Cal Poly. Arkansas fell 3-2 to Kansas State for its first loss. The Razorbacks got solo homers from the Aloy brothers but just three strikeouts from its pitching staff. Alabama got an impressive 9-2 win over Coastal Carolina in Jacksonville despite getting three (3!) hits, only one of which scored a run. Instead, the Crimson Tide took 12 walks and were plunked three times. Zane Adams threw 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball, fanning six in his start. Georgia sweeps a doubleheader with 9-3 and 15-1 victories over Illinois-Chicago. Leighton Finley throws five shutout innings in the second game to highlight the Bulldogs' mound work. Vanderbilt beat St. Mary's, 11-4, with Jonathan Vastine contributing a home run and RJ Austin, a pair of triples. But the biggest story was the season debuts of infielders Brodie Johnston and Mike Mancini, two likely starters for the Commodores. Bobby Boser hit his first homer as a Gator, and Florida routed Dayton, 13-1, thanks to a scoreless, four-inning start from Liam Peterson. Oklahoma edges Minnesota, 3-2, thanks to Kyson Witherspoon's seven-inning, one-run, 12-strikeout day. Ole Miss's Luke Hill had two more hits and swiped two bases while Hunter Elliott fanned 10 in six innings in an 8-0 win over Eastern Kentucky. Mississippi State had only four hits and trailed late but rallied with three eighth-inning runs keyed by Noah Sulivan's two-RBI double. Pico Kohn struck out 11 and allowed only one run in 6 1/3 innings. Kentucky went to Nashville and earned a 2-1 win at Belmont. Starter Nic McCay went six shutout innings and struck out seven. Auburn topped Wright State, 11-0. Prized recruit Bub Terrell hit his first collegiate home run and LSU transfer Sam Dutton fired 5 2/3, seven-strikeout innings in his start. South Carolina rallied from an early deficit to beat Milwaukee, 5-2. JUCO transfer Jase Woita homered and sophomore Tyler Pitzer threw four innings of eight-strikeout baseball in relief. Texas got just six hits against Dartmouth but managed a 4-3 win thanks to 11 strikeouts between Jared Spencer, Ruger Riojas and Thomas Burns. Missouri edged Florida A&M, 6-5. The Tigers' bullpen hurled four scoreless innings and Gehrig Goldbeck rapped out three hits.

Sony has announced a movie adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn in collaboration with PlayStation Studios and Columbia Pictures, the studio behind 2022's Uncharted. While no release date has been set, the film will bring Guerrilla Games' post-apocalyptic adventure starring machine hunter Aloy to the big screen. Jacob Elordi is in early negotiations to replace Paul Mescal in Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars. Mark L. Smith and Christopher Wilkinson wrote the script for the 20th Century Studios film, which adapts Peter Heller's 2012 apocalyptic novel of the same name. Disney+ has greenlit a pilot for a TV series adaptation of Louis Sachar's beloved novel "Holes."
