Resident Evil Requiem has the misfortune of following Resident Evil: Village, one of our favorite games of all time. How does a game live up to that high bar? It becomes more than just one game. This week, to avoid major spoilers, we talk about the first act of Requiem, roughly the first 5-7 hours set in a classic Resident Evil-style location. We also chat about the top-level shifts in tone and pacing. In the coming weeks, we'll do a “full spoilers” segment digging into the unusual, lore-soaked places the game goes in its second and third acts. I suppose you could say it's like a book club, but for video games. Get the full list of games (and other stuff) discussed at www.besties.fan. Want more episodes? Join us at patreon.com/thebesties for three bonus episodes each month!
It's an off-week here at RTG, and Resident Evil Requiem drops on Thursday, so I figured I'd dig into our Patreon archives and upload my review of the last Resident Evil, Resident Evil Village, to the free feeds. Hope you enjoy the episode and RTG will be back next week!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

TEXT US YOUR THOUGHTS!In this episode of Good2Game Radio, Tony and Jaime dive headfirst into the twisted world of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard—but with a chaotic twist: Tony played them backwards like a true agent of mayhem. As they prep for the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, the duo compares the action-heavy thrills of Village with the pure nightmare fuel of Biohazard. From regenerating limbs to terrifying stalker enemies (looking at you, Lady D), they share hilarious stories, genuine fear, and gaming trauma that may require therapy. Jaime opens up about why certain horror mechanics push him to the brink, while Tony embraces the madness and somehow survives. It's a mix of laughs, jump scares, and survival horror appreciation, all wrapped in classic Good2Game humor. If you love Resident Evil—or just enjoy watching friends mentally unravel—this episode is for you.Support the show https://discord.gg/3yfGt9gahB
A história é exagerada? "Village" é digno de "Resident Evil" clássico? A série funciona melhor em primeira pessoa? "Village" é melhor que "RE7"?Esse é mais um podcast da franquia Resident Evil!- ALURA | Estude na Alura, a maior escola de tecnologia on-line do Brasil! Očividně nám nestačí že už na začátku roku vychází hromada dobrých her, ještě se Tomáš chytil na free weekend jednoho early accessu. A nakonec u toho vydržel 40 hodin.

Patryk Ciesielka przybliżył nam historię powstania i obecny stan gry Hytale, porównując jej mechaniki do Minecrafta i Terrarii. It's Shocktober and we're kicking off a month full of horror content for you all! In this episode, we dive into Resident Evil Village and explore why it fits so seamlessly into the legendary Resident Evil franchise. While it delivers refreshing additions—like terrifying werewolves prowling the village and the unforgettable Lady Dimitrescu towering over players—it also pays homage to the series' roots. The ornate gothic castle echoes the atmosphere of the original Spencer Mansion, reminding longtime fans of the classic survival horror tone that started it all. We'll unpack how Village balances innovation with tradition, carving out its own unique place in the series while celebrating what made Resident Evil iconic. And yes, Brandon actually played and beat this game.Safe travel, nomads.

For this Friday June 13th, actress Katie O'Hagan (Mia Winters in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village) returns on short notice to discuss a personal favorite 1981 slasher sequel "Friday the 13th Part 2" directed by Steve Miner in his directorial debut with Derek and Aaron. They talk about the consistency of the Friday the 13th franchise, how the sequel tries to outdo the first, and the acceptance of Jason's death plot hole. They also get into memorable characters and kills, what makes this a competent sequel, the effectiveness of Jason's reveal, and many other aspects of the film. Katie told Aaron and Derek, but they didn't listen. You're all doomed! You're all doomed! In 1996, the world of video gaming was forever changed by the release of Capcom's “survival horror” masterwork “Resident Evil” on the Sony PlayStation. In fact, the term “survival horror”, now a common-place name for a subgenre of horror gaming, was originated by “Resident Evil”.Survival horror itself can be defined as a genre of video games with a focus on surviving in a threatening, often supernatural or disturbing environment, with an emphasis on a more vulnerable central character, tension, limited resources and combat as a last resort.Sound like a vast number of great horror games that have come since the original “Resident Evil”?Whether it's the steeped in atmospheric dread of the “Silent Hill” franchise, the cosmic Lovecraftian terror of the “Dead Space” games, the nerve-frying corridors of the “Amnesia” series or the Stephen King-esque small town horror of “Alan Wake” and its sequel, the influence of “Resident Evil” has played a pivotal role in forming horror gaming. In this episode I am joined by the stars of the most recent “Resident Evil” games. They have taken the three most iconic characters of the franchise and not only made them their own, but also brought real gravity and psychological complexity that has helped redefine the series and what we thought we could expect from it.Welcome Nicole Tompkins who plays Jill Valentine in the “Resident Evil 3” reimaging and the animated film “Resident Evil: Death Island” as well as Daniela Dimitrescu and Elena in “Resident Evil Village”, Jeff Schine who plays Carlos in the “Resident Evil 3” reimagining and Chris Redfield in “Resident Evil Village” and Nick Apostolides who plays Leon Kennedy in the reimagining's of “Resident Evil 2” and “Resident Evil 4” as well as the TV mini-series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness”.We discuss their approaches to adapting these legacy characters, the indelible imprint of the franchise, how it's not as different from film acting as some may think, as well as their most requested line readings. Let's explore the dangers of Raccoon City and beyond, survive a world of endless zombies and undead Doberman's, expose shadowy secret evil organizations and visit a village of crazed occultist with Nicole Tompkins, Jeff Schine and Nick Apostolides! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

In time for Saint Patrick's Day, actress Katie O'Hagan (Mia Winters in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village) returns to the podcast to discuss 2015's British-Irish co-produced supernatural horror movie "The Hallow" directed by Corin Hardy with Aaron and Derek! They get into the portrayal of Irish folklore with nature and vegetation, distrust of outsiders, and the horrors of changelings. They also talk about the Lebor Gabála Érenn, the encroachment of modern humanity against old magic, and many other topics about the movie. Welcome back lovers of all things spooky and scary, to another episode of Surviving the Horror! Released in March 2012 and developed by Slant 6 in just one year's time, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a much maligned and critiqued entry in the long standing survival horror franchise. Criticized for it's lack of polish, and disregard for the pillars of what makes up a classic Resident Evil title, Operation Raccoon City is certainly the black ship of the family. In fact, it seems that almost every time that Capcom tries to do something different in the multiplayer space with Resident Evil, the title is met with considerable challenges and fan feedback. Operation Raccoon City came from a different era of Capcom, one that hadn't seen the benefits of multiple successful titles released back to back as we've seen recently with the REmake treatments and things like Resident Evil Village. Indeed, as relayed by ORC's director Andrew Santos, Capcom was chasing a different crowd in 2012, the Call of Duty gamer. Releasing the same year as Resident Evil 6, Operation Raccoon City represented an attempt to tell a different kind of story in the Resident Evil universe, with new characters that could expand on the lore and events of the first few games. Was this attempt successful though? Well, that's a tough question to answer. Colin and Josh do their best to parse through the mechanics, story, design, and development of this misunderstood Resident Evil title. When considering the truncated development, and some of the clear love and attention to detail that went in to this title, perhaps some of the initial reactions and reviews were too harsh on the game. Come along with us on a journey through a chaotic warzone, littered with BOWs, waring political factions, and a sinister mega corporation hell bent on cleaning up any evidence of their involvement. It may not be the best Resident Evil title, but we think you'll have plenty of fun along the way. Thank you for listening, and enjoy! We will be back next month with September's game, Still Wakes the Deep!
Let's be honest, when you think of Apple products, gaming isn't one of the words that comes to mind. I have to give them credit though as they've been putting in work to change that, starting with last year's port of Resident Evil Village that looked and ran just as well as its PC and console counterparts, with the exception of a lower framerate and some graphic options.
After a short break, the team return to tackle head on the soft reboot that is the Mold Saga. Following the bloated bioterrorism era, many welcomed the return of a more personal story with Ethan and family and (another) new virus/parasite/agent taking centre stage - this time in the form of Mutamycete or the Mold. Whilst the story may start off self contained, we soon see the return of many Resident Evil hallmarks such as a new Umbrella, spies, paramilitary teams and of course Chris "yes, that's him" Redfield ultimately leading to an interesting cliffhanger in Resident Evil Village. Like our recent Bioterrorism Era podcast, we take each year in turn, starting in 2016 as the Mold and E-001 gains a strong foothold in Dulvey, Louisiana. How does this Mold work? Is it consistent between it and the Mold seen in Village? And what's the deal with Blue Umbrella and the BSAA? Can we learn more from some obscure airsoft pamplets? All of this and more including a discussion on recent RE-REmake rumours plaguing the interweb. Enjoy!
