In episode 15 we had the pleasure of chatting to Anne Griffin. Anne is the Irish No. 1 best-selling author for her debut novel ‘When All Is Said’, and she was also awarded Newcomer of the Year at 2019s Book Awards. Anne explores and shares the journey she went through – and how she wouldn’t change a thing about it – starting with a BA in History in UCD, then after college she worked for over 8 years in Waterstones bookstore, where her love for books flourished. That’s not where her writing career started though, in the years that followed Anne acquired qualifications in Community & Youth Work, Accounts Technician and lastly in 2015 a MA in Creative Writing. But we’ll leave all the story telling to Anne in the new episode of Next Gen Fem. We’re excited for you to hear our 15th episode, I hope you enjoy. "Mamma Mia", here we go again! #LoveBites month continues with the Swedish vampire classic LET THE RIGHT ONE IN! Kyle and Steven are saying "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!", but Emma is sending out an "SOS". "When All Is Said and Done", will she "Take a Chance On Me" (me = the movie)? Or will this one uhh..."Slipping Through My Fingers"? Did we mention this movie is Swedish? "Dancing Queen"! It's the first episode of 2019 and it's another double guest episode! Tom is joined by first time author Anne Griffin to chat about her book When All Is Said and later on Tom Kerridge stops by to tell us about his new cook book Fresh Start.
Does Your Mother Know you're listening? Well, we're glad that you decided to Take a Chance on us this episode, you little Chiquititas. We don't Lay All Our Love on the 2008 smash hit "Mamma Mia!" Audiences lost and studios won as this movie made $615.7 million at the box office, but, as they say, The Winner Takes It All and the loser has to fall. A lot of people think this movie is Honey, Honey, but we think it's vinegar, vinegar. We thought this might be Our Last Summer after watching this drivel, but we were Super Troupers and powered through it without letting a single scene Slip Through Our Fingers. When All Is Said and Done, not even underrated Meryl Streep could keep us from thinking that this was the cinematic equivalent of Waterloo. Tell us what you think by chatting with us (@filmsnuff) on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or by shooting us an email over at mailbag@filmsnuff.com.
