However, we might not all be aware it is God who is working in our lives. This is why it is so important we start talking about it more. The more we share our experiences, the more people understand how God works and how much He truly loves us. If you would be willing to share any experience you have had of how God has worked or is working your life, please email me at catherine@findingtruenorthcoaching.com or just click here. It won't take up much of your time, and your story could be just the story that someone needs to hear today. Prayerfully consider sharing. Everyone has a story, and the world needs to hear them. I look forward to spending time with you again tomorrow, and I will have another witness for you next Wednesday. Remember, Jesus loves you, and so do I. Have a blessed day!
Song: They Never Got the ChanceMusic and Song Intro by: Gail Nobles © 2022Story by: Gail NoblesPhoto credit: Tony Alter - https://flic.kr/p/6zz34VUsage: CC BY 2.0Today's topic: Whitney Houston & Michael Jackson It is said that Whitney H. and Michael J. never made a record together. Michael Jackson wanted Whitney to record his duet, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" in the 80's. Whitney was burning up the charts and her first album was hot. It is said that Whitney's record label, Arista, would not take Michael's offer. They were afraid that Whitney would be overexposed. Sounds like a poor excuse to me. Both Whitney and Michael were super. Why would there be a problem? Whitney H. was new and that would not have been a good excuse either. Whitney was already known when she sang with Jermaine Jackson. The world was just beginning to know Whitney during that time. People love to hear great singers together whether they are new or not. As a matter of fact, I remember hearing Jermaine J. And Whitney H. sing two songs together. They were, If You Say My Eyes are Beautiful, and Nobody Loves Me Like You Do. Whitney Houston even sang with Teddy Pendergrass. Michael was the king of pop and Whitney was rising high. Well, Whitney went on singing down through the years and never made a record with Michael. Whitney and Michael should have made a record together. You're listening to the Whitney Soul Podcast, and I'm you're host Gail Nobles.

Without a doubt, the coronavirus pandemic coupled with ongoing demonstrations and protests have changed the landscape for conversations and creative output. In particular, musicians have taken this time for self-reflection on the state of the music industry and their individual responsibilities in moving the conversation forward. For Charlotte-based singer-songwriter Kelsey Ryan, the past five months have been an opportunity to write, listen, and find new meaning through the "grit and grin" of country music.

Photo by Whitney H via Flickr Some call the tween years a "second toddlerhood." Like toddlers, tweens are striving for independence and determined to do things on their own. Except when they'd rather not. Some days, they want nothing more than to be little kids again, cuddled in your lap. The mood swings of tween boys catch many parents off guard, especially parents who mistakenly bought into the idea that "boys are easier." Truth is, the tween years are a challenge: for you, and for your kids. That's because a lot of physical, neurological and emotional growth happens between the ages of 10 and 14. Your boys are changing -- so quickly, in fact, that it is literally difficult to keep up. Whether this is your first or third (or seventh!) time through the tween years, you likely need support, information and humor. We're here to give it to you. In this episode, Jen & Janet discuss: Common reactions to the tween years Why your kids need reassurance during their tweens How the physical changes of tween-dom lead to common behavioral changes (Hint: increased testosterone leads to increased body odor and increased risk-taking) The 10-year gap between experience emotions, and learning to control them Why the tween years can be emotionally triggering for parents The importance of self-care during the tween years "Potted plant" parenting -- and why it may be the best way to parent tweens and teens Sam's 24 Hour Garage Challenge The value of playfulness (for tweens and their parents!) Mental health concerns in the tween years (the peak onset age for most mental health disorders is 14) Why you must make sure your son is connected with adult males Jen's 3 Tips for Surviving the Tween Years Links we mentioned (or should have) in Episode 135: Top 6 Tips for Parenting Tween Boys 120: Hygiene Help for Tween & Teen Boys Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain, by Daniel J Siegel, MD What Do Teenagers Want?
