Read OnlineSo the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, “What are we going to do? This man is performing many signs. If we leave him alone, all will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our land and our nation.” John 11:47–48Jesus' public ministry had two primary effects upon the people. For many, they were coming to believe in Him and were hanging on His every word. They sought Him out and began to understand that He was the promised Messiah. This was the response of faith. But the reaction of the chief priests and the Pharisees was far more worldly. In the passage above, we see a group of religious leaders who are completely consumed with worldly concerns to the point that these concerns drown out all matters of faith. As the Sanhedrin convened and discussed what they should do, Caiaphas, the high priest that year, spoke up and gave advice that perfectly depicts this worldly vision. He said, “You know nothing, nor do you consider that it is better for you that one man should die instead of the people, so that the whole nation may not perish.” Caiaphas and many other religious leaders at the time appeared to be far more concerned with their worldly status and power than they were with matters of true faith and eternal salvation. If they were men who deeply loved God and sought only His holy will, then they would have rejoiced that Jesus' ministry was so fruitful in the lives of the people. They would have offered thanks to God, day and night, for the privilege of seeing the prophecies of old about the Messiah come to fruition before their own eyes. They should have had joy and gratitude, and they should have allowed those spiritual blessings to grow within them and give them the courage they needed to go forth and die with our Lord if necessary. But instead, they chose their comfortable lives and worldly status above the truth, and they decided that Jesus needed to die.One beautiful truth to reflect upon within this context is that God uses all things for His glory and for the salvation of those who believe. With this meeting of the Sanhedrin, these men began to plot the death of Jesus. Eventually they used deceit, manipulation, intimidation and fear to accomplish their goal. But even though from a worldly perspective these misguided religious leaders “won,” from a divine perspective, God used their evil to bring about the greatest good the world had ever known. Through their malice, Jesus' passion and death gave way to the new life of the Resurrection. Reflect, today, upon the fact that God is able to use all things for our good. Be it in the midst of corruption, persecution, discord, sin, illness or any other evil in life, when we turn to God in faith and surrender, He is able to transform all things and bring forth an abundance of good fruit through them if we only let Him and trust in faith. Prayerfully surrender over to God, today, any of the above concerns that have affected you, and allow yourself to believe the simple truth that nothing can keep you from the glorious fulfillment of the will of God. All things can help toward the salvation of your soul and end in God's eternal glory. My glorious Lord, You were loved by many but also hated by some. Those with power and authority could not see beyond their worldly ambitions, so they began to plot against You. Give me the grace, dear Lord, to see every act of evil inflicted upon me as an opportunity for You to bring forth good. You are glorious, dear Lord. May You be glorified in all things. Jesus, I trust in You. Image via Brooklyn MuseumSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

In these verses, Jesus shifted the emphasis from beingworried about the present to being watchful about the future. It is interestinghow all the themes in Luke 12 go together, for one of the best ways to conquerhypocrisy, covetousness, worry and fear is to look for the return of our LordJesus Christ. When you are "living in the future tense," it isdifficult for the things of the world to ensnare you. In this section, Jesusexplained how we can be ready for His return by waiting and watching (vv.35-40). In the days of Christ, Jewish weddings were generally heldat night and could go on late into the night and early morning hours. Rememberin John 2 at the wedding that Jesus attended with His mother and His disciplesthat they ran out of wine. It must have been a long wedding! After the weddingthe bridegroom's servants would have to wait for their master to come home withhis bride. The new husband would certainly not want to be kept waiting at thedoor with his bride! But the servants had to be sure they were ready to go towork, with their robes tucked under their girdles so they were free to move. That is why Jesus said in verses 35-36, "Let yourwaist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who waitfor their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes andknocks they may open to him immediately.” Peter later would write to thesaints and say something very similar in 1 Peter 1:13-16, “Therefore gird upthe loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace thatis to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedientchildren, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; butas He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because itis written, "Be holy, for I am holy." But the remarkable thing that we should also notice in thisstory is that the master serves the servants! In Jewish weddings, the bride wastreated like a queen and the groom like a king; so you would not expect the"king" to minister to his staff. Wow!!!!! Our King will minister toHis faithful servants when He greets us at His return, and He will reward usfor our faithfulness. Jesus said the servants who were watching and waiting fortheir Master's returned would be blessed (v. 37). To "watch" means tobe alert, to be ready, not to be caught by surprise. That is the attitude wemust have toward the second coming of Jesus Christ. His coming will be likethat of a thief: unannounced and unexpected. Jesus Himself promised His disciples that He would returnin John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come againand receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” AsJesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives 40 days after Hisresurrection, His disciples were told by two angels in Acts 1:11, "Menof Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who wastaken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him gointo heaven." If we really believed that Jesus would return today, howwould we be living? Prayerfully, if we are living with this “blessed hope”in our minds and hearts, we should purify ourselves and be ready! (1 John 3:2-3).Titus 2:11-14 also promises and encourages us with these words: “For thegrace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, andgodly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearingof our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that Hemight redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own specialpeople, zealous for good works.” Are you waiting and watching for Jesus return today? We can'tafford to be careless!!!!! God bless!

We have so much to cover here, we are going to skip fancy introductions and jump right in! We find ourselves at a brand new chapter in Jacob's life with a fresh challenge for him, the dreaded encounter with Esau. It has been twenty years since, from Esau's perspective, he tricked him out of the blessing of Isaac. It is important to remember that even though Jacob went about it badly, the blessing was always supposed to be Jacob's. Nevertheless, Esau took it badly and purposed to kill Jacob when he got the chance. Jacob, at the direction of God, heads back away from Laban to the promised land of Canaan, and back to his kinsmen, meaning Esau. This is going to be one of the hardest things he will ever face, and like the rest of us, there is a mixed bag in how he approaches this test. We will start with what Jacob does well and then make some critique on how this could be better, with the expectation that we learn from his mistakes AND his faithfulness. The main point I want you to draw from this is that we are to Prayerfully prepare for life with God's promises in mind.

Rodney D. Roby - Paralyzed EmotionsRodney D. Roby has had mental health problems but turned it around into a kind of self-therapy and examintion which he hopes will help other people suffering from similar conditions and those around them.He talks to Ed Opperman about his struggle and his dealing with a problem which is ever increasing in our noisy, careless world."When I was first diagnosed with a mental illness, I sought after information that could tell me just what in the world was happening to me. There was nothing. Or at least I didn't find anything. I wrote these letters to my first psychiatrist so she could see inside my head. To see all the fear, confusion, hurt, and multitudes of thoughts that hounded me. When I read these letters to my wife, I actually cried. I completed this book with a prayer that it will help people who suffer to understand what they are going through and see that there is hope. Also, so people can understand what their loved one is going though. Prayerfully, this book will help doctors and counselors. This is very powerful! Not only will you see all the illness but a lot of hope and healing."Book (audio)Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Today's Witness is from a friend of mine named Ed. Ed is a part of my prayer group and a student at Encounter School of Ministry Boston. The same program I graduated from last May. Ed went to Belize on a mission trip with the Encounter School. There were 37 of them that went to Belize. They went out on the streets to pray for those who wanted it. Read OnlinePeter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” But he did not know what he was saying. Luke 9:32–33As we are presented with this glorious event of the Transfiguration this Sunday, there are numerous lessons we can learn from it. The passage above presents us with two particular lessons. First, Peter and his companions were overcome by sleep while Jesus was transfigured in glory and conversing with Moses and Elijah. This line could suggest many things. It could mean that Peter was weak and more concerned with his human condition than he was with attentiveness to the important journey he was invited to take with our Lord. It could reveal a kind of spiritual sloth. It is easy in life to become weary of the journey and to become drowsy at the times that we should be most attentive to our Lord. For example, think about any time when you knew you should pray but instead, sat daydreaming or distracted, or chose to fill that time with something mindless. Peter and his companions, therefore, teach us that it is easy for us in our fallen human nature to “doze off” during those times when God wants to speak to us, especially while at Mass.Another interpretation of this line comes from the Church Father, Saint Ambrose. He suggests that this sleep of Peter and his two companions was primarily a result of them encountering “the incomprehensible brightness of the Divine nature.” As Jesus was transfigured, the initial vision was too much for them to comprehend, and so this vision began with them asleep as a symbol of the fact that we are all incapable of seeing the glory of God in our weakened state. But then they became “fully awake,” which implies that it took time for them to open their eyes to see the glory of God. This lesson teaches us that we all must wake up and work to become fully awake if we are to see the glory of God as He reveals Himself to us.After becoming fully awake and encountering the incomprehensible brightness of the divine nature, Peter says, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” The Gospel writer then goes on to say that Peter “did not know what he was saying.” Again, if we turn to Saint Ambrose, he points out that Peter's experience is commendable because he not only had earnest feelings but also took the initiative of good deeds. He wanted to build three tents so that Jesus, Moses and Elijah would remain with them. But another Church father points out that Peter “did not know what he was saying” because he did not, at that time, realize that it was indeed his mission to build a dwelling place for Jesus, the Law and the Prophets. It was his mission to build the Church, which was to be the future dwelling place of God on earth and the place in which we will encounter God throughout life. You, too, are entrusted with the responsibility of building up the structure of the Church on earth so that many may encounter the full glory of God. This will only happen if you continually seek to become fully awakened to the glory of God as He reveals Himself to you and, in the joy of that encounter, go forth to build up God's Church by your earnest desire and intentional acts of charity. Reflect, today, upon Peter and his two companions, James and John. Prayerfully ponder them asleep as Jesus was transfigured in glory. Reflect upon them waking up and beginning to realize what was taking place before them. Consider Peter's excitement and amazement and the effect that had on him. And then ponder how these disciples eventually did go forth to build the Church, the house of God, so that they and many others would come to meet Christ. Pray that the witness of these disciples will inspire you to follow in their footsteps. My Transfigured Lord, the glory that shone forth from Your divine face in radiance must have been beyond human description. Your true glory in Heaven is something that I hope to one day behold. Please instill in me a desire to more fully understand Your glory and to work tirelessly to be an instrument of that glory to all I meet. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Андрей Николаевич Миронов (A.N. Welcome to another episode of Right on Radio, hosted by Jeff, where we dive deep into the intricacies of the real world, both visible and invisible. Today's episode dissects the recent speech by former President Trump, hailed by some as brilliant while others hoped for more explosive revelations. Jeff offers his unique analysis of the speech's direction, suggesting it was a calculated move to lay the groundwork for the singularity and the concept of Christ consciousness. The episode delves into the symbolic nature of the event's timing and the reactions it sparked domestically and internationally. Jeff explores the underlying themes of global political dynamics, connecting them to historical, religious, and current geopolitical contexts. He discusses the quiet ties between nations such as the United States and Israel, the strategic placement of power, and the societal shift needed to exit the mainstream media-induced hive mindset. Listeners are invited to ponder the coming of the singularity, a technocratic world order subtly introduced through political maneuvers and societal programming. As faith and politics intertwine, Jeff challenges traditional narratives, highlighting the potential for a one-world government and religion, drawing from biblical insights and contemporary events. Join Jeff as he navigates these complex topics, encouraging a reflection on faith, political systems, and the prophesied future. With thought-provoking discussions and scriptural comparisons, this episode is a compelling exploration of prophecy, power, and discernment in today's rapidly evolving world. In this stirring episode of Right on Radio, Jeff dives into the intricate web of technology, power, and how it all interplays with society's future. The episode kicks off with engaging satire about society's implicit trust in governments, punctuated by humorous dialogues and thought-provoking commentary on the reliability of the powers that be. While the overarching theme is heavily intertwined with notions of control and deception, Jeff takes us on a revealing journey through history and modern-day realities. Venturing into discussions about Elon Musk's notion of singularity, the episode expands on critical thoughts about technology and influences surrounding us. This is not merely an analysis but a profound commentary that opens up different dimensions on what technological singularity could entail. Amidst these introspections, the narrative moves seamlessly into the realms of historical scandals, revealing the formation of organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League and delving into the history behind powerful families and their enduring grip over global narratives. With intense clips that expose media conglomerates' control—the episode broadens the understanding of how messaging and information shape modern-day perspectives, often serving certain entities and ideologies. In the backdrop, Jeff masterfully connects these dots with a historical lens, suggesting that these narratives unite to maintain or disrupt societal harmony. As Jeff progresses further, listeners are taken through a current landscape veiled with migration issues, government manipulations, and deceptive agendas like Agenda 21. The methodical exposition on the meter-free illegal migration discussions and the underpinnings of NGOs morphs into alarming realities brought forth by comparisons to historical subversions. The episode climaxes in a critical examination of AI, brain implants, and futuristic societies governed by digital overlords, leaving audiences on a heightened sense of awareness about the impending digital singularity. Jeff's bravado in challenging mainstream narratives—not to sway opinions, but to broaden them—provides a pivotal standpoint to engage listener minds on the very notion of reality as controlled by unseen governing forces. Join the conversation as Jeff provides his unique insights into how technology, religion, and governance intertwines, setting the stage for a discourse on the impending future shaped by forces powerful enough to be metaphysical in nature. "Right on Radio" endeavors to leave no stone unturned as it narrates the end-world vision juxtaposing realism and conspiracies for listeners to discern their stance on these compelling issues. The episode, recorded on the last Friday of February 2025, explores spiritual topics and contrasts contemporary issues with biblical insights. The host invites listeners to engage with the content and reflect on their own understanding of the day's themes. The episode opens with a segment called "Word on Word," a game show-like format where two scriptures from the Bible are compared. Listeners are encouraged to interact and decide which scripture resonates more with them at the moment. This leads into a discussion revisiting a controversial past episode labeled as "Conspiracy Theory 101," where topics such as the Illuminati, societal control, and prophecy are addressed. Building on discussions from recent prayer meetings and a pivotal post by Elon Musk about technological singularity, the episode ties into deeper religious and spiritual conversations, particularly the idea of Christ consciousness and its potential to align with end-time deceptions as described in the Bible. The host urges caution, highlighting how this concept might divert focus from true Christian teachings. The episode takes a critical turn towards geopolitical analysis, examining how political and spiritual narratives intersect. The host speculates on the implications of potential geopolitical shifts, referencing figures such as Elon Musk and organizations like the International Criminal Court while discussing broader themes of global control, truth, and deception. The host emphasizes the importance of returning to core biblical teachings amidst prevailing global chaos. Through community engagement on platforms like Telegram, listeners are encouraged to ground themselves in scripture and maintain spiritual strength. As the episode closes, there's an invitation to a communal prayer meeting and a new chapter study in the Gospel of John, offering listeners a path back to spiritual clarity and community support. The episode concludes with a musical note, where the host plays a song believed to resonate with everyone, reminding listeners of the power of music and scripture to uplift and prepare them for the weekend. Engage with this compelling study that invites believers to truly follow Christ, not only in identity but in action, embracing the transformative power of His Word. Join Jeff as he connects centuries-old scriptures with the modern quest for truth and righteousness, encouraging listeners to become not just hearers, but doers, reflecting the light of Jesus in everyday life. Read OnlineThey were exceedingly astonished and they said, “He has done all things well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” Mark 7:37This line is the conclusion to the story of Jesus healing a deaf man who also had a speech impediment. The man was brought to Jesus, Jesus took him off by himself, cried out “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”), and the man was cured. And though this was an incredible gift to this man and an act of great mercy toward him, it also reveals that God wants to use us to draw others to Himself. On a natural level, we all lack the ability to hear the voice of God when He speaks. We need the gift of grace for this. As a result, on a natural level, we are also incapable of speaking the many truths that God wants us to speak. This story teaches us that God also desires to heal our ears so as to hear His gentle voice and to loosen our tongues so that we can become His mouthpiece. But this story is not only about God speaking to each one of us; it also reveals our duty to bring others to Christ who do not know Him. The friends of this man brought him to Jesus. And Jesus took the man off by himself. This gives us insight into how we help others to come to know our Lord's voice. Oftentimes when we want to share the Gospel with another, we tend to talk to them and try to rationally convince them to turn their lives to Christ. And though this can bear good fruit at times, the real goal we must have is to help them to go off with our Lord by themselves for a while so that Jesus can do the healing. If your ears have truly been opened by our Lord, then your tongue will also be loosened. And only if your tongue is loosened will God be able to draw others to Himself through you. Otherwise your act of evangelizing will only be based on your effort alone. Therefore, if you have people in your life who do not appear to be listening to the voice of God and following His holy will, then first and foremost commit yourself to listening to our Lord yourself. Let your ears hear Him. And when you do hear Him, it will be His voice that, in turn, speaks through you in the way He desires to reach out to others.Reflect, today, upon this Gospel scene. Ponder, especially, the friends of this man as they are inspired to bring him to Jesus. Ask our Lord to use you in a similar way. Prayerfully ponder those in your life whom God wants to call to Himself through your mediation and place yourself at the service of our Lord so that His voice can speak through you in the way He chooses. My good Jesus, please open my ears to hear all that You wish to say to me and please loosen my tongue so that I will become a mouthpiece of Your holy word to others. I offer myself to You for Your glory and pray that You will use me in accord with Your holy will. Jesus, I fully trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.Image via Wikimedia Commons
Read OnlineSoon a woman whose daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him. She came and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth, and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter. Mark 7:25–26A parent's love is powerful. And the woman in this story clearly loves her daughter. It is that love that drives this mother to seek out Jesus in the hope that He will free her daughter from the demon who possessed her. Interestingly, this woman was not of the Jewish faith. She was a Gentile, a foreigner, but her faith was very real and very deep. When Jesus first encountered this woman, she begged Him to free her daughter from the demon. Jesus' response was at first surprising. He said to her, “Let the children be fed first. For it is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” In other words, Jesus was saying that His mission was first to the people of Israel, the chosen people of the Jewish faith. They were the “children” of whom Jesus was speaking, and the Gentiles, such as this woman, were the ones referred to as “the dogs.” Jesus spoke this way to this woman not out of rudeness but because He could see her deep faith, and He wanted to give her an opportunity to manifest that faith for all to see. And so she did.The woman responded to Jesus, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children's scraps.” Her words were not only exceptionally humble but were also based on deep faith and a deep love for her daughter. As a result, Jesus responds with generosity and immediately frees her daughter from the demon. In our own lives, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we deserve the mercy of God. We can think that we have a right to God's grace. And even though Jesus deeply desires to pour forth His grace and mercy in superabundance on our lives, it is essential that we fully understand our unworthiness before Him. The disposition of this woman's heart sets for us a perfect example of how we must come to our Lord. Reflect, today, upon the beautiful example of this woman of deep faith. Prayerfully read her words over and over. Try to understand her humility, her hope, and her love for her daughter. As you do, pray that you will be able to imitate her goodness so as to share in the blessings she and her daughter received. My merciful Lord, I trust in Your perfect love for me and for all peoples. I pray especially for those who carry heavy burdens and for those whose lives are deeply intertwined with evil. Please set them free, dear Lord, and welcome them into Your family so that they become true children of Your Father. May I have the humility and faith I need to help bring forth this abundance of grace for others. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.Image via Web Gallery of Art
