What happens when we call teens “leaders”—especially those previously labeled as “troublemakers”? In this thought-provoking video, Lorraine Connell, founder of Peers Not Fears, explores how traditional leadership programs can unintentionally alienate the very teens they aim to empower. These teens have learned to expect rejection. When invited into leadership roles, their instinct may be to test boundaries—not out of defiance, but as a means to see if this new label truly fits. Lorraine challenges us to reconsider our reactions and to create spaces where pushing boundaries is met with understanding, not resistance. Key Takeaways: Redefining leadership as a responsibility, not a reward Understanding resistance as a form of trust-testing Creating environments that support growth through discomfort Emphasizing the role of adults in modeling flexibility and reflection Leadership development is a two-way street. By shifting our perspectives and responses, we can foster genuine growth and transformation in our teens—and in ourselves. It's time for another episode about bad behavior in the Disney Parks. We were planning to discuss any Disney news that might have taken place in the past couple of weeks during which we covered Universal Epic Universe, but there was absolutely nothing of significance to report…outside of these stories of people being bad in the most magical and the happiest places on Earth. What do you think of these stories of bad behavior? We would love to hear from you. Let us know at show@magicourway.com or call at 815-669-4226 or slide into our social media DMs. Every thought and opinion will forever be welcome on this Disney fan podcast. This is show #574.
American culture and the 'melting pot' through the eyes of Gene Valentino and his guest Nicole Kiprilov. Both are guests/contributors on Newsmax. An appreciation of America is explored. The Democrat takedown with and through the 'Deep State' has failed. Nicole reveals her insight of the return of America as a Millennial. She explains the 'gaslighting' of America has failed. Ergo, 80-million Americans supported Donald Trump, turning their backs on the leftist ideology. She explains that Pete Hegseth has exposed what's gone wrong at the Pentagon. Whether it's DEI or Transgender initiatives in the Defense Department, she claims Pete Hegseth has exposed blatant hypocrisy. The DOGE initiatives have not even touched the Defense Department yet. They will. Democrats using NGO's to fuel the entry of Democrats into office, was/is a deep state complicit strategy that almost worked. The key question is; will the Republicans organize to the level necessary to stave-off the deep state threat from the left in the future? The bureaucracy that Donald Trump is breaking up IS the 'deep state' that was taking down America. This deep state bureaucracy is failing. Time for Constitutional Amendments to address BAD BEHAVIOR of elected officials and staff. Reed Diamond and Chuck Shute delve into the timeless appeal of Pixar movies, emphasizing the importance of a strong script. Reed shares his experiences working on "Drop," a thriller filmed in Ireland, highlighting the practical sets and collaborative environment. They also touch on the impact of tax incentives on film production, the evolution of live music experiences, and the importance of storytelling in acting, with anecdotes about working with notable actors and directors. Reed Diamond discusses his acting philosophy, emphasizing the importance of being in the moment and collaborating with fellow actors. He contrasts this with the competitive, cutthroat environment of "Homicide," where actors actively tried to undermine each other. Diamond admires strategic actors like Val Kilmer but prefers a more spontaneous, improvisational approach. He also reflects on the impact of social media and politics on society, advocating for authenticity, empathy, and local action. Diamond promotes his upcoming film "Drop," highlighting its intense, well-crafted narrative and the collaborative effort behind it.0:00:00 - Intro0:00:20 - Rankin/Bass, Claymation & Kids Movies 0:04:45 - Movies from 70s/80s, Anora & Test of Time 0:11:25 - New "Drop" Film, Script, Production, Casting & Location 0:22:10 - Cheaper to Film Outside of Los Angeles 0:25:22 - Statue of Liberty & New York Scene 0:30:45 - Music Scenes, Concerts & Punk Rock 0:38:28 - Working with Other Actors & Being Authentic 0:44:40 - Working on Homicide & Crazy Stories 0:51:03 - Smart Tricks, Being Difficult & Bad Behavior 0:55:40 - Val Kilmer & Cunning Strategy of Actors/Actresses 1:04:03 - Improvising Vs. We are finally seeing an action brought against radical federal judges that I've been urging for weeks—efforts to remove judges who are in violation of their Constitutional duty to serve only during good Behavior, as required by Article III Section 1 of the Constitution. But is this avenue being pursued effectively? Not as effectively as I'd like. Also, we're all taught that we have a Fifth Amendment right to silence, but most are unaware of just how limited that right to silence is, and how readily your silence CAN be used against you in a court of law. I'll cover this treacherous legal ground in the context of a new decision out of the Arizona Supreme court, as well as a controlling US Supreme Court decision that applies to all 50 states.
This week I dive into some of Trump's recent comments about "Venezuelan gang members" and the USA's legacy of dehumanizing people based on their drug use. I discuss Rodney King, Joaquín Guzman aka "El Chapo," George Floyd, dehumanization, Hannah Arendt's Banality of Evil, the art of shilling for Trump (aka "minionism"), and lots more. You can find clips and images of the "Venezuelan Gang deportations" here. If you were betrayed in childhood by the adults you trusted, your self-esteem and boundaries can be so wounded, that you become “betrayal blind.” You can SEE you're getting SO much LESS than you need and deserve in a relationship, but because you can't face ending things, you UNSEE it. This is self-deception, and we are motivated to disbelieve what we see because the need for love is SO strong, and facing the truth, means the crumbs of love you're getting will be lost – and that feels impossible. So what can you do? in this video, I respond to a woman who is RIGHT on the verge of facing the truth about her boyfriend – but she's tempted to believe she's just being paranoid. Is she tripping? We're back! Hosts David Klemt and Bradley Knebel tackle two real-life restaurant and bar situations in the first ReFire of 2025.The two tackle the topic of an operator who's hesitant to believe it when multiple employees claim a culinary team member is rude, hostile, and abusive...but believes that team member when they make the same accusation against a quiet but hard-working back-of-house peer. Don't worry - it gets worse! Then, David and Bradley take a look at a stunning, on-the-spot termination of a bartender who had been in role since day one. The restaurant was busy, the bar was slammed, and the word of a regular got the bartender of five years fired instantly. Something doesn't add up!Look, firing someone is never pleasant. However, it's going to happen. Operators and leadership team members need to have standards in place and communicated clearly, a process for terminations, and the understanding that how they fire people speaks to their credibility and reputation.NotesBar Hacks IG:@barhacksDavid Klemt IG:@david.ex.machinaBradley Knebel IG:@sommfabulousguyKRG Hospitality IG:@KRG.HospitalityKRG Hospitality website:KRGHospitality.comEmpowered Hospitality IG:@empoweredhospitalityEmpowered Hospitality website:EmpoweredHospitality.com

Send Lauren a text! In this episode, I'm talking about how anxiety often looks confusing in tweens and teens—sometimes appearing as irrational fears or even "bad behavior." Many parents question whether their child's reactions are actually anxiety or just acting out. Using real stories and examples, I show why these fears may not make sense but are still very real.Sometimes a kid's fear seems to make no sense. I'll tell you a story of a tween who was only slightly nervous while performing on stage but felt too afraid to buy school lunch. I'll share some of the steps that helped this boy to challenge his fear. I will encourage you, as a parent, to approach moments like these with compassion. In these anxious moments your kid is not intentionally trying to blow up your day, even though it sometimes feels like it! And I also urge you to have compassion for yourself as well. Parenting a tween or teen with anxiety is challenging, and offering yourself some grace is super important! And stay tuned for What's Bringing Me More Zen. Here's a hint: lately, I've been crafting... wait for it... for the holidays! Yes, it's totally unlike me to be this far ahead of the season. I'll share what I've been working on—and actually finishing!Mentioned on this episode:Check out Episode #98: Anxiety Symptoms in Kids and Teens That Might Surprise You. Join Jim and Greg as they discuss the outstanding leadership of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during hurricane season, the laughable double standards among Democrats when it comes to accepting election results, and the allegations of despicable behavior against Doug Emhoff.First, they're impressed with how Gov. DeSantis is coordinating the state's hurricane response, his mastery of hurricane history to dispel arguments that climate change is responsible for the recent storms, and his common sense policies for getting Floridians back on their feet as quickly as possible after the storm.Next, they share a good laugh at the hypocrisy displayed by some House Democrats. Despite being harsh critics of Trump's rejection of the 2020 election results, these Democrats are now hesitant to commit to certifying a Trump victory in 2024, claiming they would need to "make sure all the rules have been followed." But if Republicans say that, they are an existential threat to democracy. Finally, they delve into the troubling allegations surrounding Doug Emhoff, Kamala Harris's husband. Emhoff has already admitted to ending his first marriage after an affair with the family nanny, whom he impregnated. More recent accusations suggest that he slapped an ex-girlfriend in public and exhibited misogynistic behavior toward women in his law firm, raising serious concerns about his character. Please visit our great sponsors:BetterHelphttps://betterhelp.com/3MLVisit the 3ML website for 10% of your first month.
