We are sooo far away from our 20s that Emmy can't even get the name right for a band that is apparently hot among the millennials now. Its "Why Don't We" bukan "Why Don't You". Kesian kita.

As a special extra Summer treat for Looks Unfamiliar listeners, here’s a compilation of highlights from the archives, with extracts from Summer-themed podcasts by Tim Worthington, Ben Baker, Phil Catterall and Darrell Maclaine-Jones. A lot of this hasn’t been available for years, and a lot of it is still rather funny, so we hope you enjoy it! Along the way we talk about Summer Holiday television, Rat On The Road, Wimbledon, The Radio 1 Roadshow, Why Don't You? and Now - The Summer Album; rate the best and worst holiday camps and end of the pier variety acts; and lend an ear to some zany hilarious 'rude' records for fun DJs in wacky nightclubs. We'll also be finding out how to distinguish between different iterations of Mark Curry, what constitutes Roland Rat Canon, what happened when The Grumbleweeds went post-Blue Jam, and what Paul Shane definitely did not do to supplement his Hi-De-Hi income. Not to mention visiting a Hardwicke House Roadshow. Find more episodes of Looks Unfamiliar at http://timworthington.org/

The Tales Of The Unexpected Podcast

Yes we're back, it's been 14 days since your twofer weekend - make sure you listen to them... not that the Tale of the Unexpected episodes follow on from one another, but i'm certain that these podcasts are getting more listen-to-able as time goes on. *********** SO... What's today's all about? It's called Taste and delves into the world of wine, the aroma of dinner parties in the 80's, hints of potential child exploitation (only 11% VOL) and as always overtones of suspense. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL... if our attempts to pun our way through these notes have failed, we also chat about the voice of Janet Ellis, being part of the Why Don't You gang, the smell of a goose playing a bassoon and why 1985 is the best year for movies. WOW, what an episode. *********

On the day I sat down to record this episode we got the sad news that we lost Chester Bennington, the lead singer of Linkin Park. While completely unrelated to the theme of this episode, based on my level of obsession with Hybrid Theory all those years ago, I thought it was only appropriate to begin with a tribute. It is also a motivation to finally dig into my archives actually make that "Angry Man Music" podcast episode that I have been considering all these years.   This episode started out sort of trying to be an R&B podcast but then it turns out that for the most part I don't really like R&B. Basically, I don't really know how you categorize this music except that they are essentially love songs. Or, songs about love and how it may not be working out so well. Or, not so much love as lust. Or, I don't know, it's just awesome (as usual!). Regardless, it's time to settle in and turn it up.   Thanks for listening and don't forget to support the artists, Aaron     Tracklist (links to buy tracks) 1.Crawling by Linkin Park on Hybrid Theory 2.Gemini Feed by Banks on The Altar 3.Chill Out ft. In the most self-destructive moment since school holiday-dominating kids TV show Why Don't You told us to "switch off your TV set and do something less boring instead", we recommend films you could watch in the time it takes to listen to this semi-coherent drivel in this week's Triple Bill. Elsewhere on the podcast we pay tribute to the genius of Ray Harryhausen, review new releases 21 & Over and Chimpanzee, and welcome Gerry back to the 'ALL NEW' Failed Critics Podcast. Next week we'll set phasers to stun, don our red shirts, and have sex with beautiful alien creatures... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

FRESH OUT OF DEATH: THE MIX SERIES

Solo is probably the most eagerly watched and most exciting House producer around at the moment, along with the likes of Zombie Disco Squad, Nat Self and Riva Starr. He is the man behind the huge hit Congoloid on Claude Vonstroke's Dirtybird label, and with his 'The Big Stef E.P.' out soon, things are going into overdrive for him. He has done this mix just in time for the spring/summer and boy does it deliver. Expect the unexpected with tracks such as James Brown's Superbad and Flash 2.9 taking you by suprise, and thats just the reason he is a genius. It's his originality to the genre that takes influences from all backgrounds of life. To top it off, any one who has met him will tell you he is probably one of the nicest and friendliest guys in the music industry right now. Go Support him by buying his records over at Juno.co.uk / Beatport. His Myspace and the Track listing for the mix follows... http://www.myspace.com/thedrunksolo 1. The Godfather Theme 2.
