Episode #502: This episode, part of the Decolonizing Southeast Asian Studies Conference series, features two powerful voices—Shakil Ahmed and Tümüzo Katiry—who approach decolonization from distinct but complementary perspectives. Together, they show how imagination, identity, and place intertwine in the struggle to reclaim meaning and possibility. Shakil Ahmed, a futurist and educator, explores how his academic field can serve as a decolonial tool. “Future Studies is a study of the future, but the future has not happened yet,” he explains. “So how do you study something that hasn't happened yet? You study how people think about the future currently.” He outlines a shift from prediction to imagination, emphasizing that “there are multiple different futures as opposed to one exact possibility.” He describes key frameworks—“default future, possible futures, probable futures, and the preferred future”—which empower people to move from passive acceptance to active agency. Shakil's “iceberg” model of Causal Layered Analysis asks listeners to look beneath visible issues to their deeper worldviews and myths: “These dominant myths and metaphors have shaped our society.” For him, decolonization means rewriting these inherited stories while balancing global structures with local wisdom. His outlook is hopeful: futures work, he insists, is about imagination, participation, and responsibility. Tümüzo Katiry speaks from the Naga homeland straddling the India–Myanmar border. “The definition of ‘Naga' is still very much debated,” he notes, pointing to colonial borders that divided families and cultures. He grounds his reflections in food autonomy: “First thing is the question of food sovereignty… Nagas tend to be very self-sustaining.” He describes local diets rich in pork, beef, fermented soybeans, crabs, and insects— each part of an ecosystem of survival and creativity. “We say that we eat anything that moves,” he jokes. Tümüzo's reflections expand to the environment: borders, he warns, also fragment wildlife habitats, while climate change and fragile infrastructure leave his region vulnerable. Yet his final words are generous and open: “I highly recommend people to visit the remote areas as well.”

Coach Donavin Britt on Building Las Vegas Combat Academy, Mental Toughness, and Protecting Gym Culture   Host Pete Deeley interviews Coach Donavin Britt on The Jiu Jitsu Mindset, discussing Britt's path from apprenticing under instructor Roger Donofrio into becoming a Krav Maga and self-defense-first gym owner who later added jiu-jitsu and MMA. He describes earning high-level training under figures including Sgt. Major Nir Maman (as the first American certified instructor), Darren Levine, and John Whitman, and discusses the importance of standards, mental toughness, and having a purpose bigger than oneself. In this study we will take a look at the women within the Bible. We will look at each one of them and see how their story influences our lives today.In this first study we will start with Eve.Eve was the first woman. Independent and curious, she disobeyed Yahweh's commands. She ate the forbidden fruit, (more on this later) setting forth major change in the Garden of Eden - and human history.Although man and woman have different roles to play within marriage, as far as our standing with Yahweh is concerned, we are equal. We are both created in the image of Yahweh. We were both called to subdue the earth. I will begin in Chapter 3 verse 3.So far in this Chapter 3 we seen the serpent (nachash – shining one) talking with Eve. What we have seen here is that Satan's method of operation. Twisting Yahweh's Words, just as he tried to do in Matthew 4! In our last study we started to see what actually happened in the Garden of Eden between Satan and the women Eve.Based on the Hebrew words and their definitions, we can conclude that there may have been some kind of sexual relationship going on between Eve and Satan.Before you doubters want to tar and feather me let's not forget what is wrote in the Book of Job chapters 1 and 2.Buts' let's not forget the real reason of the sin! Whether or not Satan and Eve had some type of sexual encounter, we have to look at the real reason for Eve's downfall.Once again what was her downfall?Not obeying the Words of Yahweh! Remember what Yahweh said in 2:16-17?Gen 2:16  And Adonai Yahweh commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: Gen 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. But what did Eve say;Gen 3:2  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: Gen 3:3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.So we see that we have 2 problems within this verse 3.First of all ‘neither shall ye touch it.' This sentence is added. Compare Gen. 2:17, 18. There is another word in this verse we need to consider, and it is the word "touch". Yahweh's command to Eve was; "neither shall ye touch it. "The Hebrew word for "touch" is # H5060 in the Strong's dictionary is (Naga, a prime root, prop. to touch, i.e., lay the hand upon (for the purpose; euphemism, to lie with a woman), to reach), So we see that the warning to Adam and Eve specifically, was to stay away from Satan called both the "serpent", and the "tree of good and evil". The fruit of that tree was not to be taken; and we know that the "fruit" as the results of a sexual relationship between any man and woman is a child. Yahweh's command was that Eve "not touch (lay with Satan)." So, we see that the order by Yahweh is that Eve not have sexual union with Satan.  Secondly, lest ye die. This is misquoted from Gen.2:16, 17, by not repeating the emphatic Figure Polyptoton, thus changing the emphasize  preserved in the word "surely". I discuss how Freemasonry worships Lucifer as their godWhat do I think Adam's sin was? They share how their marketing strategy resulted in landing 300 influencers, 4-5 retail partners, and loads of press by the week of their official launch. The discussion covers their 100 year family history in business, their connection to and passion for the food industry, and why they've decided to donate 5% of their product to wildlife conservation. Syed and Amer and excited to be the first to introduce North America to the Naga chili, which is beloved for its fragrance in other parts of the world.
