A sudden downpour puts out thousands of candles, but it can't extinguish the unnatural fire burning the victims. We break down the sheer effectiveness of this misinformation campaign and how buzzwords like "children" and "war" are used to whip the crowd into a manipulated frenzy.Meanwhile, Dalton is officially named the Minister of Culture, but Tess's tearful, over-the-top gratitude toward the Sovereign highlights a massive, growing crack in their relationship. Hey book friends! Enjoy some highlights from the year that was 2025! And also, thank you for your patience during our little break. We've been needing some time to focus on all of our non-podcast related things and that's taken a little more time than we anticipated. We plan on being back soon so keep an eye on the feed!

In this chapter, Fitch and Morely break into the Wizards Keep easily enough. But getting the Sword of Truth and getting back out in one peace proves harder than they imagined...

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, Bert's decision to have a vote in Anderith is questioned, but he assures everyone it's for the best. Afterall, they only need to delay Richard and Co. long enough for the Order to arrive, and then all their problems are solved. In the meantime, Richard get's to do whatever he wants - except read the one book he came here to find.

Richard tries to sell freedom to Anderith, but Bertrand Chanboor upsells him on a election and Kahlan believes they've just RSVP'd to their own political ambush.

In this chapter, word gets back to Dalton Campbell that Richard and Co have made it inside the walls of Anderith. This is literally The. Last. Thing. He wanted to happen. And while Richard tries to plan out his next moves, Dalton makes plans of his own to slow them down...

In this chapter an approaching army makes Beata's squad nervous - looking at you, Carine and Annette - and they almost strike the Dirtch killing ALL of them. As it turns out it's Richard and Co trying to get passage into Anderith. So.... Phew! Let's get another bar on that striker!

In this chapter, two Sisters from opposing sides find some common ground while having some homemade soup

Zedd makes his way into The Ovens, ready to throw his life at the Chimes, but all we know his sacrifice achieved is kicking Richard in the magical nuts, setting off the Dominie Dirtch, and leaving one very special horse, very lonely...

In this chapter, Zedd gains access to the library in Anderith and also to Vedetta's heart. Maybe more if her darn kids would leave... Certainly he wouldn't stand her up, causing her to join the dark side and become Lord Vedetta, killing the younglings out of frustration!!?? No, that would be crazy... A wizard always keeps their promises, right?

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, Zedd pays a visit to an old aquaintence, and possible friend with benefits in Anderith, to see if they can't help him get into the restricted section... Of the library!! Haha, you pervs....

In this episode we talk more about how when someone tries to help you escape you should RUN! GO RIGHT NOW, MOVE YOUR ASS! MAKE HASTE! WHY ARE YOU STIL READING THIS!? GO!! Ahem, sorry about that.. Um... What else... what. else. Oh yea! Jagang makes a rap - enjoy!

Ann's life is falling apart faster than her wardrobe, as betrayal hits harder than a hangover. She's stuck in a new life of "no robes, no power, no dignity" — just a side of gritty survival and a dash of "I'm not giving up yet!"

In this chapter, Beata goes from snack holding newbie to Boss Bitch - that's Sergeant to you. After one hell of a montage glow up, she's in charge of the defense of Anderith, and doing good for the very first time.

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, Dalt tells fitch that he and Morley are comprimised and they have to leave town. He gives them his "life savings", tells them to buy horses and go. Wow... What a great guy. Of course we know that he already gave up their names, but if they get caught they might just turn on their old boss. Things are heating up here on Chapter 42 of Soul Of The Fire!

Another feast! Responsible parties NEED to be found for the heinous acts against Claudine Winthrop and Unnamed Haken girl (Beata). We all know just the man to find the offenders... One Dalton Campbell. First he just needs to deal with the burned bread... Oh and the scalp cape guy.

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, we find Fitch, again in his fancy uniform, and again being told he's evil, all while getting the worst sexual education of his life. After class he tries to get Beata to see the situation she's in for what it is (although we wish he'd use a different tactic) only to realize there is no good option. You're dead if ya do, and damned if ya don't anyways, may as well have a bevy and listen along!

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire we see Inger the butcher pay a little visit to Dalton Campbell after Beata refuses to make deliveries to the estate. He believes something terrible happened to her. But being a businessman, he understands that Dalton might not be able to fit it in his schedule. No matter though, all he needs is Dalt to give him a name. He already has a meat hook...

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, we find Fitch back on the job but out of uniform as he, with the help of Morley and the Messengers (great band name) murders Claudine Winthrop. That's right. Fitch is a straight up bad guy now.

In this chapter we see Hildemara Chanboor make an unwelcome visit to Dalt. She also throws a few unwelcome advances his way too. The most unwelcome thing she brings to his door is a request that Claudine be murdered. That bitch is making her look bad. But not as bad as the messenger who just heard her say that will! Join us for chapter 37 of Soul Of The Fire

In chapter 36 of Soul of the Fire, Fitch decides to wear his new work uniform to a penance assembly and boy does it go wrong. Not only is their lesson about the evil Haken overlords in their fancy uniforms, but Beata also lets him know that she's less than impressed. Afterwards, a lonely walk turns into just the thing Fitch needs to set his sights back on the Sword of Truth!

In chapter 35 of Soul Of The Fire, Richard decides it's time to split the party! Which we all know from playing D&D is NEVER A GOOD OPTION! However, in this one, very specific case, we find that some times it is necessary. Richard and Kahlan will go to Anderith while Cara goes to Aydindril to smash the bottle, grab the Sword Of Truth, and bring troops back to Richard so he can show off...

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire, Richard asks Kahlan about the extremely complicated history of the place now known as Anderith. After hearing about it, he knows what he must do... Even though he knew in the last chapter and won't tell us 'til the next... But I digress. To break the tension we talk tava bread and make multiple Mord Sith's! A Mordiplication, if you will. Enjoy!

When Du is attacked by the chimes and left on the very brink of death, Richard believes all hope is lost. That is until Cara reminds him that Mord Sith are experts in taking and GIVING the breath of life. Will it be enough to save Du and her unborn child?? You'll either have to keep listening OR read the book to find out.... and like, we're right here, so.... Enjoy! Also, click here to check out the legendary PBR-cave of Aaron's Grandpa that was mentioned in the beer break.

Kahan and Cara have decided the party should head to Aydindril, so naturally Richard wants to go to Anderith. If only Zedd had told them the truth about what was really going on - but alas...

For today's episode we spent 2 hours live with our patrons on Discord that perfectly encapsulates the chaotic joy of 300 episodes! Thank you again to everyone that helps support this show! We love you all so much!! Here's to another 300!!

Richard finally gives Du the time to say what she came all this way to say. Even though there's plenty she says he doesn't care for, one piece of information she has could let Richard get the jump on Jagang

No no! You've gotta understand...Richard's the one having a hard time here (he said in his best sarcastic accent) But seriously, he is a dick to Du, and follows that up by being angry she's upset. And just when you thought it couldn't get any more tense, that's when BOTH of Richard's wives go away from the group to have a litttle chat. And what do they talk about? Yeah - we'd love to know. Enjoy!

Richard and Kahlan separate themselves from the group so they can have a full on quiet fight that ends in Kahlan admitting she was wrong... wild... But knowing with absolute certainty that it is fully and 100% Kahlans fault they're in this mess, it doesn't help them get any closer to a solution... Ugh... Maybe it's time to go throw rocks at a mountain, know what I mean?

In this chapter of Soul Of The Fire we finally learn Wizard's 5th Rule. "Mind what people do, not only what they say, for their deeds will betray a lie." And we know this is a useful rule because up until this point in the story our MAIN CHARACTERS have barely said anything to each other. Oh they've been tallking, but have they been saying anything? Hmm... Well, Richard is ready to say something, and he's going to say it to Kahlan, and he's going to say it right n- in the next chapter....

That's right friends! We are also not the fathers of Du Chaillu's baby! But there is still plenty of drama to go around so get your favorite tea cup and let's dive in. We take a look back at Richard's relationship history and try to figure out if we can really wrap our heads around some magical law. And you guys can totally trust us because we want to be the very best, like no one ever was. To understand magical law is our true cause. We will think kind of hard, contemplating. How these laws don't make much sense, so we must digress. Richard Rahl! Please talk to your wife! It might save our destinies!

Hey, we all forget things sometimes. Anything from your earbuds for work, or your knife when you're heading out into the woods... Or maybe that one time you were forced to kill a bunch of dudes whilst channeling spirits from your magic sword, and then having to marry the wife of all the men you just slayed, under penalty of death. Right? It's the little things like that we all remember... Oh, and speaking about things we all remember? WE ALL REMEMBER DU CHAILLU!

In Chapter 25 of Soul of the Fire, we meet a new character in a somewhat familiar place. Roberta is out 'shroomin' up on some mountains and absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong. Nate has a bone to pick with Terry himself over some word choices, Jade recalls a time involving spooky whispers during the night, and Aaron is perfect and never does or says anything wrong ever! We are podcasters, on a mission, readers of books and discuss them, PODCAST ATT!

The streak is broken once again! Nate is back and Aaron makes a bold prophecy right in the intro! We dive a bit more into Dalt's world and what he does behind the scenes. We also meet one of Aaron's new favorite characters, Franca Gowenlock. We also discuss the dangers of getting caught in a web spun by someone like Dalt! Life seems like a hurricane over in Anderith. Hakens, Anders, big ol' feasts, it's an And-blur! Dalt spins his own web, don't get caught in it! Anderith, Woo-ooo!

It's time for Chapter 23 and even though he's feeling a little rough around the edges after last night's activities, Aaron and Jade discuss how the ball seems to be rolling uphill for Fitch. We are a bit worried that he isn't terrified since, ya know, he has no idea if everything he did actually worked or not, but hey, something to be said for optimism, right? Oh and speaking of optimism... Nate will be back for the next episode! But in the mean time, one is a genius, the other is insane. They're podcast... they're podcast ATT-T-T-T-T-T-T-T. NARF!

Welcome back friends! Our streak ended at two as Nate may or may not have had another timey wimey portal problem and ended up in Florida, so Jade and Aaron tackle Chapter 22 today. Join us as we realize we are slowly descending (ascending?) into a DnD-related podcast. We also continue to talk about the longest feast ever and why marketing is so important with regards to Richard's demands versus Jagang's honeyed words. So just sit back and relax, you'll laugh till you collapse. We're podcast ATT!

I'm just saying, it seems like a bad idea to start in the middle of something at the start of something, ya know? Oh, was that a confusing way to start a chapter summary? Well luckily we would never do something like that! The trio is back again to keep analyzing the sociopolitical atmosphere of this feast and also dip into our collective vast knowledge of animal biology and physiology and discuss swan wings! Hey, what a wonderful kind of day to discuss Chapter 21 of Soul of the Fire.

Hey everyone! Aaron's back to warmly welcome him back, Jade's immediately lies to his (and everyone else's) face! With the trio reunited, let's dive into Claudine's questionable cover story and why it's a little problematic to call all criticism "unsavory". Nate tempts fate as he talks about secret organizations and just so everyone is clear, it was Nate and only Nate that was doing the talking! We also do our best to roleplay as sociopolitical analysts and try to figure out what everyone's true intentions really are. Let's step inside, it's a wild ride!

Happy St. Patty's Day! Once again it's the OG crew as Aaron is off fighting super villans from taking over a children's hospital orphanage with only his bare hands. His last text to us was, "I know anybody would do the same in my shoes. I'm just a regular guy doing regular things. Brb, I need to kick this guy with my fist. Hiyaah!" and yes, he did type out 'hiyaah'. Meanwhile, Nate shows off his dance moves on what is very well established as an audio medium.

New character alert! Join the OG crew as they learn about Nora and, to quote one of the OG's himself, her terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night. We also discuss why you should let sleeping things continue to sleep as well as why Nora and Nate's ideal nights are total opposites. Folks, it's a rough one, so crack a beverage of your choice and let's dive into Chapter 18.

Hey friends! Join Jade and Nate as things start off a little spicy, things are taken, and we learn all about Dalt and Tess and their entire world. This one's a doozy so let's just get right into it!

HAS ANYBODY BEEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE CHICKENS?! AARON'S GONE AGAIN! Well I suppose until he joins us again, Jade and Nate do dive into some chicken talk and make some ABSOLUTELY WILD SPECULATIONS THAT AARON MAY NOT APPRECIATE WHEN HE FINALLY GETS AROUND TO LISTENING TO THIS! We also discuss how nice it is to just be recognized sometimes as a real person with a whole-ass life going on! AND SOMEBODY KEEP AN EYE ON THE CHICKENS!

Welcome back friends! Isn't it fun to be back with people you enjoy spending time with? Well, we can't quite do that yet as we are still with Fitch and Friends. Join us as we help Aaron figure out why he can't seem to indentify that one friend that everyone has and why sometimes it's good to pre-think an excuse before you get into a situation.

Grab a plate of tava bread and honey and find out what was actually going on with Zedd and Ann while they were "on their death beds". Or I suppose you could just do like Nissel and cuddle up for a while... Either way, join us for Chapter 14 of Soul Of The Fire!

It's chapter 13 and we are spending some more time with Fitch. I'm sure we'll be back with our favorite peeps soon, but for now, let's get into the meat of this chapter. We get more lore on the Hakan's and how they are just the worst and the Ander's are really just the best. Aaron's shows off just how little talent he really has when it comes to accents during the beer break to everyone's dismay. And Jade gives us some great insight into Fitch's mind during his conversation with Beata. Some more stuff happens too but you'll just have to listen to find out!
