Every week I post the worst piece of music I can find from my archives.
This is another old track, it's about 5 years old. I hope everything's o.k. down your way let me know when you see the meter stick. Thanks fye - fie. [esterante fervo terenterone spieglementatutta a=å]
I have taken some of the rubbish tracks off of my old albums because I decided these albums might be good if got rid of the bad songs off of them. This originally appeared on 2006's Cronies and is a particularly weak track. For the few people who own these albums, and more particularly the even fewer of them that have actually bothered to listen to them - sorry.
There is the dust and there is also the dutt. Effluent back bacon. There are the children how they howl, how they cry, the musty spectre, the grainy eyes. The salt in the blood, the frost in the mind. The spirit of memory, the service of squash on a silver plate and yet it is sunday, it is only sliver silver Sunday. Our Sunday - Our eyes. Fast foreign. Floppy free. The children, oh the children: how they howl.Frowl
zippy crispy poppy dooby doo. Sorry it's late. So sorry, it's forry.
got a job on a cheese stall, made a stupid cheese related track
Basically the first bar has 240 notes, the second bar has 120, the third bar has 80, then 60, 48, 40,30, 24, 20, 16, 15,12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. All the factors of 240 but with the melody staying basically the same.
This is my cheating solution to my prime number conundrum. basically whenever it goes over an Octave and a half it starts at n-(last number+1). still is rubbs.
This is a piece where I have a ascribed a melody to each prime factor apart from 1. so there is a two note melody a three note melody etc. so if you take a number like 15 which has factors 15, 5, 3 and 1, there will be three melodies. It's rubbish.
as promised this is part II of last weeks ascending primes, it doesn't get any better! this week a number of failed attempts to create an equilibrium against the primes using nsqured, ncubed, 2n-ncubed, and some much more complicated functions I don't remember. All failed. It is boring so I put stupid amounts of distortion on it - you cannot tell whats going on. I had a filling put in this week. This is the feeling of filling, as opposed to most music which is the feeling of filling the filing cabinet. I hope you are o.k.
I am grumpy so I am subjecting you to some of boring prime number experiments that I was going to spare you from. In the first part the amount of semitones between each note is the same as the amount between each prime number beginning with 2 and 3. so the first gap is 1, then 2, then2, then4 and so on. It stop when the note gets too high for the program. The next part is the same but minus1 everytime so 0,1,1,3,1,3. The next three parts are then the same but instead of -1 each time they are -2, -4 and -6 respectively. I am essentially trying to cause a kind of equilibrium. I have failed. Tune next week to see if I come up with a better solution.
I nearly forgot, bet I had you worried there didn't I, whoever you are you strange people.
This track actually has quite a big place in my heart, so give it a couple of listens. PHILOSOPHY BEEN DRIVIN' ME CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY Sometimes I write these stupid bits of prose and I think to myself - 'boy-o-boy i'm amazing', but today I am thinking how I now feel committed to providing a service no one wants. I never know whether to put thoughts in speech marks, I know a lot of novelists do it, but I think I don't like it. I don't think they know the implications soliloquy has on the philosophy of language - it's not like normal speech. And anyway you just can't quote a thought - they are not opaque. When you quote a thought there is always a really dangerous element of interpretation that is going to obscure meaning, it is much safer to summarise a thought. CRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAZZZZEEEEEEEEYYYYYY YYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHWOWOWOWOWOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOOWOWOOWOWOWOWO. I've been writing a composition on my new christmas stylophone so perhaps you'll be treated to that soon, I need some more guitar pedals all of mine have expired, withered, died.
¡HAPPPPPPPPPY NEEEEWWWWA YEAH! I missed last week because I was celebrating christmas at my dial-up home, there waas the log it was opening the fire we toasted - Christmas. The pudding. We toasted the pudding and so was the brandy. The works, glowing red cheeks, thoughts of kindness, actual kindness, real poems about the little poor jesus - lay down his sweet sweet head, candlestick. 14MILLION HOURS of the wrong mans thoughts on the regretful television, weeks of unknown poverty, sour democracy. I won the wet tinsel in the blue plastic barrel, the games, the hats, scrabbling for the tiles, another brandy, a little sider on the cide. afterthoughts. you name it, it all came together in the painting that was my thought which was a sign for the moment in eternity that was christmas 2010 and now another hulking great slab of that history 2001111111 what will I do?
This isn't my worst track but it sounds really snowy and it snowed yesterday, so here's a treat for you all. I took this photo in my local park (Finsbury Park) to go with it, I wanted to get a photo when it was actually snowing but I didn't have any batteries for my camera.
It's a 4 in 1 deal this weekend, some little short bits I had left over, after I publish this everything I have left over is quite good, so stay tuned and there's a possibility you might here some good music. WOW
So it's late, yeah i'm really sorry, so sorry I have a life, sorry I messed up your silly little plans. GET.A.LIFE.
A bell goes every 100 beats, the orchestra hit goes every prime number, I can't remember the rest.
this is really rubbish, I am really glad to get rid of this.
I have a lot of nicey tracks in store so I made this horrible one to balance it out.
This barely constitutes a composition nothing happens, this is the worst of a new batch.
Just found out I missed the deadline for a really good internship.
This is Alice. Publishing this on behalf of Charlie, fingers crossed it works!!
seeing as I missed the podcast last week, I thought i'd do you an extra one this week. I also thought it was a good chance to remind you that I will be deleting quite a lot of older podcasts in order to upload media to my account, this will mean I will be able to publish the podcasts quicker, and without having to do it from this computer.
I am going to have to take down a whole load of the older podcasts by the end of the week so make sure you download them if you haven't already. +Sorry I missed last week with not so much as an apology, job hunting+house hunting was on the cards, but things are looking up now.
tough choice this week as usual, the first time I eat the worms.
Bit differrent this week, it's a bit hard to tell if this is the worst of the archives, because it's the sort of track thats good if you're in the mood for it.
second podcast in a row that is late, I am determined not to let this happen again, so you can expect to recieve another tomorrow, the correct time to have a podcast.
sorry that this is so late, the podcast hosting site has had a site redesign that has made everything rubbish
I quite like the mood of this but I always ment to make it into something a bit more interesting, this is definately were my love of the Residents shines through more than any other track, I think I wanted it to sound a bit like Eskimo.
apologies for anyone who had the misfortune of downloading the mistake I just made, I caught it quite quickly so hopefully that's none of you. This ones got some good bits, it's not bad but it's not particularly good.
I messed up the numbers one too many times. I don't like this track, it's boring, the sounds are quite good, but it's boring. this is another one that only just constitutes a whole track apologies for that. Oh yes download some of my old albums from last.fm here http://www.last.fm/music/Charlie+Potter/+albums
If you are a newcomer then you will not know that I am posting all the unused tracks I have from worst to best, so the quality should eventually get consistently good, There is only a few more really bad tracks to go and this is as yu might of guessed the first track I ever made on Renoise.
this track is either brilliant or rubbish.
Am now entering a phase of tracks that have a sort of unique quality but are ultimately a bit boring
This is a quickly and slightly badly compiled best of the first ten podcasts, if you really want them then send a message to charlie.potter@gmail.com
