Want to be a guest or know someone would be a great fit? I am looking for military vets, active duty, military brats, veteran service orgs or anyone in the fitness industryNew Year resolve is loud, but it's not a plan. We're kicking off 2026 by saying the quiet part out loud: most resolutions crumble because they're vague, unrealistic, and built on motivation that fades by week two. I break down why two out of five people quit within 30 days, how “effort without strategy equals burnout,” and what to do instead when life gets messy, schedules bend, and your body hasn't agreed to a six-day grind. We walk through normal early setbacks—soreness, fatigue, a scale that doesn't budge—and reframe them as signs of adaptation, not failure. You'll learn how to beat all-or-nothing thinking with minimum viable workouts, design around friction points like distance and time, and build a routine that survives imperfect weeks. I share practical guidance for structuring your plan with four anchors: what you'll do, where you'll do it, when you'll do it (same days and times for eight weeks), and why it matters beyond aesthetics. If the future you wants to get off the floor with grandkids, carry groceries without strain, and move with confidence, your training should reflect that vision now. You'll also hear honest talk about fear, pain, and coming back after setbacks, plus how to use recovery, mobility, and small wins to keep momentum. No guilt, no drama, no cookie-cutter templates—just a clear, flexible system that fits your real life. If you're ready to stop starting over every January, this conversation is your blueprint for consistent, sustainable progress.Subscribe for more grounded, actionable wellness insights, share this with someone rethinking resolutions, and leave a review to tell us the one change you'll commit to this week.Support the show

Episode DescriptionIn this episode of the Lead Ministry Podcast, Josh Denhart and Bill Van Kirk tackle a surprisingly emotional topic: cleaning the ministry closet—and why it should never be a one-person job or the default assignment for your intern. They explore a practical, discipleship-oriented process that uses three complementary roles and positions your intern as the fourth person for maximum learning. If you've ever rolled your eyes at “just have the intern do it,” this episode will equip and inspire you with a simple team model that honors people, protects history, and stewards resources.Key Topics Covered• The 3 roles you need: cut-throat pragmatist, sentimental hoarder, budget-minded realist—and why tension between them is healthy. • Why your intern is the fourth person, not the lone cleaner—and how to make it a formative leadership lab. • A semi-annual rhythm, clear criteria, and a negotiation table that prevents waste and regret. Key Quote“Don't let your intern be the closet cleaner. Make them an intelligent observer of the strategy.” Scripture ReferencesProverbs 22:28 – “Do not move the ancient boundary stone set up by your ancestors.”Luke 16:10 – “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much…”TakeawayA clean closet isn't the goal; wise stewardship and team discipleship are. Build a small cross-functional team, define what stays or goes, protect meaningful artifacts, and train your intern by letting them watch the process, ask questions, and document decisions. If you neglect operations, even the most promising acquisitions will turn into "crappy deals".In this video, Gino breaks down the complex reality of raising capital and highlights why Investor Relations is not a side job—it's an entirely separate business that demands a dedicated, critical hire.

Summary: Today's shift encourages you to release the habit of reacting to everything instantly. Most things in your life are not emergencies — they only feel that way because of old patterns and survival responses. This episode shows you how to pause, breathe, and respond from clarity instead of urgency. Key Points: – Why everything feels urgent – How childhood chaos wires the nervous system – The power of pausing before reacting – A simple question that breaks the urgency cycle Takeaway: You are allowed to slow down. About the Episode On this episode, I speak to Tim Herbig, long-time product management coach, speaker, and author of the new book "Real Progress". Tim has worked with companies like StepStone, Chrono24, Deutsche Telekom and Specsavers, and has spent years helping product managers stop hiding behind frameworks and start making a meaningful impact. His work focuses on helping teams connect product strategy, OKRs and discovery without falling into the trap of rigid process correctness. Episode highlights: Alibi Progress vs Real Progress - how teams hide behind "the right way" of doing things, obsessing over methods and templates instead of asking whether any of it actually works The Progress Wheel - Tim's diagnostic loop that ties strategy, OKRs and discovery together so teams can see where they're actually stuck and what to do next The three attributes of good product strategy: Decisiveness, Layering and Executability How to handle OKRs when leadership gives you metrics you can't influence using zones of control and contribution How to sell discovery to sceptical stakeholders - by framing it as "protecting the company's investment", not a fluffy UX ritual Reverse-mapping discovery when you're handed a solution - even if you have to build it, work backwards to define the outcome Why frameworks should be starting points, not destinations - and why Tim would be disappointed if anyone adopted his wheel dogmatically ... And much more. Find out how to improve blood sugar control and stop making common blood sugar mistakes! In this video, we'll cover 13 blood sugar mistakes to avoid, along with the best blood sugar management tips for healthy blood sugar levels. 0:00 Introduction: Stop making blood sugar mistakes!0:25 High blood sugar explained2:41 Insulin resistance and diabetes5:47 Common blood sugar regulation mistakes 12:22 How to lower blood sugar naturally14:05 More blood sugar management tips Did you know that all of the blood in your body should only contain a single teaspoon of sugar? Our bodies tightly regulate the amount of sugar in our blood at any given time. If you have prediabetes, that number rises to 1.5 teaspoons. With diabetes, the blood contains 2 teaspoons of sugar. The average person consumes between 50 and 100 teaspoons of sugar every day. Insulin removes the sugar from your blood and converts it to fat or stored sugar in the liver and muscles. The body only needs a tiny amount of sugar (which the liver can make on its own), so we don't actually need to consume any sugar at all. Chronic excessive sugar consumption can lead to the development of insulin resistance, which is at the root of many chronic diseases.Improve blood sugar control by avoiding these common mistakes when testing your blood sugar. 1. Not washing your hands2. Using alcohol wipes incorrectly 3. Using expired strips4. Hot sauna or cold plunge before testing5. Tylenol usage6. Taking vitamin C and other supplements 7. Squeezing fingers8. Using different fingers 9. Using continuous glucose monitors 10. Testing at high altitudes11. Drinking coffee 12. Checking glucose in the morning 13. DehydrationAn A1C test measures the average blood sugar over a period of 3 months. Several factors, including ethnicity, anemia, and diet, can affect these results. The liver is at the root of the problem when it comes to type 2 diabetes. Fortunately, a low-carb diet with intermittent fasting can quickly eliminate liver fat and correct insulin resistance and diabetes. To further support healthy blood sugar levels, try the following:•Consistent exercise •Apple cider vinegar diluted in water before meals•Morning walks•Berberine •Get plenty of sleep•Reduce stress levels•Increase sunlight exposureDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Now, the government will try to prove he lied to Congress when he said he never “authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports” about the investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails, even though he had, in fact, authorized “Person 3” to do this. But — who will prosecutors say Comey did authorize? That's our conversation for free listeners. Are you settling for a “make it work” marriage when you could build an extraordinary one? Most couples drift into survival mode—roommates, not lovers—because they've never seen an amazing marriage modeled… and no one taught them the skills. In this episode, Greg & Rachel Denning share how to raise your marriage standard, resolve conflict fast (the “anatomy of an argument”), and build a shared vision that turns everyday life into marital bliss—without pretending problems don't exist.Big idea: If you're not deliberately working on your marriage, you're automatically working on your divorce. You'll learn how to stop the same old fights, praise small efforts to reinforce positive change, schedule what matters (yes, intimacy!), and use the compound effect to transform your relationship. Whether things are tough or “fine,” these tools help you move from okay → incredible so your kids grow up with healthy models of love. What you'll learnRaise the standard: Why “make it work” is too low a target—and how high expectations create more happiness.Anatomy of an argument: Resolve conflicts quickly (not fake fixes) and stop weaponizing old grievances.Shared vision: Practical steps to get on the same page even if personalities and goals differ.Reinforce progress: Praise small attempts (date night invites, thoughtful gestures) so they happen more often.Schedule what matters: How planning creates space for connection & intimacy—instead of constant friction.Compound effect: The habits you invest in today build your legacy tomorrow.Key Takeaways✅ If you aren't intentionally improving your marriage, you're unintentionally degrading it.✅ High standards produce higher joy and better outcomes.✅ Conflict ≠ contention—you can disagree respectfully and resolve fast.✅ Model love for your kids by prioritizing the relationship at home.✅ Small, consistent actions compound into an extraordinary marriage.Chapters00:00 The Importance of Marriage02:56 From Mediocre to Extraordinary05:53 Setting High Expectations for Marriage08:25 Conflict Resolution in Marriage11:51 Self-Sabotage in Relationships16:43 Creating Mental Space for Intimacy18:16 The Importance of Retreats for Couples18:49 Investing in Marriage: The Compounding Effect20:28 Breaking Generational Patterns in Relationships22:17 Creating a Shared Vision for the Future22:44 Raising the Standard in Marriage24:36 The Role of Coaching in Relationship Growth27:04 The Value of Investing in Your MarriageMemorable Quotes

is season, we're focusing on the fundamentals, and there's nothing more fundamental to your style than fit. In this episode, I'm breaking down the most common pitfalls I've seen over the years that make great wardrobes look just okay, instead of amazing. Fit mistakes are sneaky. They show up in the way sleeves hang, in how fabrics skim (or cling), in the numbers we get attached to, and in the “quick fixes” that actually make things worse. The good news? Once you know what to look for, these mistakes are easy to spot, and even easier to avoid.By the end, you'll see fit differently—and that shift alone can change everything about how your wardrobe works for you. You'll stop wasting money on “almost right” pieces, and start building outfits that feel good and look polished, straight off the hanger. In this episode:Why sizing up for a "relaxed look" doesn't work the way influencers say it willThe key info you should be looking for online to end up with clothes that fit wellWhat you need to know about sizingHow things like fabric content play a role in a garment's size and fitHow to look at tailoring as investment, instead of just an added expenseI hope this episode encourages you to slow down the next time you shop, and really look at how clothes fit on you. Try different cuts, pay attention to fabric, and practice spotting the small details that make the biggest difference. A little extra awareness here will give you more outfits you love, and a lot less stress in front of the mirror.Don't forget to submit your end-of-season style questions here.Full show notes and resources: https://youreverydaystyle.com/ep-222
Ever make a money move in the heat of the moment and wish you could take it back? That's exactly why a rock-solid Investment Policy Statement (IPS) might be your most underrated financial tool. In this episode, Joe Saul-Sehy, OG, and Neighbor Doug peel back the layers on IPSs—why they matter, how they save you from your own impulses, and the role they play in making sure your investment strategy actually sticks. Think of it as your financial GPS, keeping you on course when market turbulence makes you want to grab the wheel. But it's not just about avoiding panic-selling. The basement crew digs into the nuts and bolts of what a good IPS should include, from setting specific goals to handling liquidity needs and keeping your risk tolerance aligned with your lifestyle. You'll also hear how rebalancing, governance, and regular reviews can transform your investments from “hope and pray” into a system you can rely on. Along the way, expect the usual SB tangents: a Joan Jett–themed trivia challenge, a TikTok tale about Apple Pay gone wrong, and more than a few moments where Doug forgets he's not supposed to run the show. By the end, you'll not only understand how to create (or update) your IPS, but you'll also see how it connects directly to building confidence in your financial plan. Whether you're brand new to investing or a seasoned hand looking to sharpen your strategy, this episode delivers the blueprint. Why an Investment Policy Statement is your best defense against emotional investing How to set clear goals, liquidity rules, and risk guidelines for your portfolio The pitfalls most people overlook when drafting an IPS (and how to avoid them) Smart strategies for rebalancing and reviewing your plan without overcomplicating things A cautionary tale from TikTok that reminds us all to keep our guard up with payment apps Listener Q&A on stock sales and the quirks that come with them Questions You'll Begin to Answer During the Episode: Do you have a written IPS, and if so, does it reflect your actual goals—or just what you thought they were five years ago? What emotional triggers most often tempt you to stray from your financial plan? How often do you review your investments, and is it based on strategy—or headlines? Ever feel like you're carrying bricks in your backpack that no one asked you to carry? Or turning a five-minute task into a half-hour saga of overthinking? You're not alone, and your brain might actually be the culprit. In this episode, Dr. Bray pulls back the curtain on why we over complicate simple things and what neuroscience reveals about it. (Hint: it's not just about dopamine, it's about the way our brain's prediction systems and default mode network keep us stuck in loops of worry and “what ifs.”) You'll learn: Why your brain makes simple things feel hard, and how it thinks it's helping. The hidden costs of overthinking on your energy, creativity, and well-being. Practical tools to stop adding “extra screws” to life and start living with more clarity and ease. If you're ready to stop over-engineering your days and start creating space for simplicity, joy, and focus, this episode is for you. QUOTES BY DR. BRAY "The mind is designed for survival, not for peace. To find peace, we must practice it intentionally." "Overcomplicating things gives us the illusion of control, but real control comes from simplicity." "Multitasking is the art of doing everything poorly at once."
