Mike Cruz was very generous with his time and he gave me an education. I learned about food insecurity. I learned about a very high percentage the children not being raised by their parents have the highest probability for suffering food insecurity. I learned that some children don't get regular Lee said on the weekends. Mike taught me examples about how lack of food leads to bad behavior which makes the job educating children extremely difficult. Mike told me about a program at one of his schools. I must admit I went into this meeting with Mike Cruz with a very strong misconception. I had read a USA Today article and some other articles that talked about past due school lunches and how children were stigmatized by getting peanut butter and jelly sandwiches instead of the regularly scheduled lunch menu. I thought that was a big problem. After talking to Mike Cruz I learned the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a blessing to Hungry kids not a negative stigma. https://www.pinalcentral.com/casa_grande_dispatch/area_news/peanut-butter-and-jelly-drive-aims-to-keeps-kids-from/article_80dc89bf-99bb-55ca-baaf-2d5f5b6b26ef.htmlBefore I talked to Mike I wanted to raise money to pay off the pass do school lunches and after talking to Mike I want to raise money for the backpack program discussed below The children approved for this program receive a knapsack filled with food that they bring home on Friday evening so they're not hungry on Saturday and Sunday. I'd like to encourage you to make a donation Tu Casa Grande elementary school district or your local school dress District. We can also help by making a tax deductible gift $200 for single people $400 for married couples and you'll receive a credit back for that money on your taxes. You can specify how that money gets spent for example if you want that money to get spent for extracurricular activities or Athletics or nutritional needs. I want to thank my Cruz for taking time to educate me and I look forward to working with him and raising money for nutritional programs for Casa Grande elementary school district in 2020Support the show (http://gf.me/u/wrry5a)
This article has been published on www.jimmyventura.blog/blog Link to my Go Fund Me Fundraiser to pay off AZ School Lunch Debt: (Click Link Here) "You don't want to take food away from a child," said Lindsay Aguilar, RD, SNS, and Administrative Dietitian-Coordinator for Food Services at Tucson Unified School District."Students with a negative balance beyond two meals on their accounts used to receive a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The courtesy meal program was designed to make sure every child was fed, according to Aguilar.Around the time outrage over anecdotal reports of students stamped because of a lunch debt or children forced to wash dishes to work off their account balance, TUSD ended its courtesy meal program. Link to Go Fund Me Fundraiser for School LunchāEven the peanut butter and jelly became an awkward moment for all parties involved,ā Aguilar said. (3) Some states are seeing school lunch debt soar into the millions of dollars, but the exact amount of lunch debt schools nationwide have accumulated collectively isnāt known because the U.S. Department of Agriculture doesnāt collect or provide that data.As an issue that disproportionately involves marginalized families ā those in poverty, living paycheck to paycheck, or even undocumented immigrants afraid to participate in the federal free lunch program ā lunch debt magnifies the widespread economic and structural inequities that have historically existed in the U.S.It also has a very real effect on children ā whether causing them to go hungry (since school meals are the only meals some children eat in a day), hurting their self-esteem, or both."Adults are supposed to understand debt. Pay your light bill or your electricity gets turned off. Pay your car note or it gets repossessed. Pay your rent or you get kicked out into the street. Adults know this. Kids don't. So is it reasonable to expect junior high students to understand a school policy that denies them school meals because their parents have unpaid bills with the school? It depends on who you ask.I heard about two students who did not qualify for free or reduced meals, and who were denied school meals because their parents had accumulated school debt. The parents had been warned of the consequences, but still didn't pay their bill. What's LegalThis raised some legal, moral and social questions involving the school's administration of the program: whether to feed the two students or not and how to go about collecting unpaid funds from parents. Also, what is a school's responsibility in the distribution of federal resources? To my surprise, the school was within their legal rights to deny the students and hold their parents accountable, according to the National Education Association's (NEA) sources. While the school is responsible for a student's safety while they are at school, parents are responsible for a child's basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. Thus, when a parent knowingly allows their child to go without food for a certain period of time (the time limit differs from state to state) then it could be interpreted as child neglect. Most schools will give a child a peanut butter sandwich and carton of milk or something when they have forgotten their lunch money or can't pay for a meal. However, when charging lunches becomes cSupport the show (http://gf.me/u/wrry5a)

Archeologists have discovered evidence that the ancestral Sonoran Desert people who built the Casa Grande also developed wide-scale irrigation farming and extensive trade connections which lasted over a thousand years until about 1450 C.E. Archeologists call a site where there are earthen buildings, red on buff pottery, and extensive canals "Hohokam" but this is not the name of a tribe or a people. Years of misunderstanding have confused the ancestors of the O'Odham, Hopi, and Zuni people with the name Hohokam, which is not a word in any of their languages nor the name of a separate people. Padre Kino, Juan Bautista de Anza, and Stephen Kearney. The Casa Grande was abandoned around 1450 C.E. Since the ancestral Sonoran Desert people who built it left no written language behind, written historic accounts of the Casa Grande begin with the journal entries of Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino when he visited the ruins in 1694. In his description of the large ancient structure before him, he wrote the words "casa grande" (or "great house") which are still used today. More became known about the ruins with the later visits of Lt. Col. Juan Bautista de Anza's expedition in 1775 and Brig. Gen. Stephen Watts Kearny's military detachment in 1846. Subsequent articles written about the Casa Grande increased public interest. During the 1860s through the 1880's, more people began to visit the ruins with the arrival of a railroad line twenty miles to the west and a connecting stagecoach route that ran right by the Casa Grande. The resulting damage from souvenir hunting, graffiti, and outright vandalism raised serious concerns about the preservation of the Casa Grande. (Source) Casa Grande ruins 1902Perhaps nowhere is the blending of modernity and tradition more evident than at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. Casa Grande was constructed between AD 1200-1450 by the Native American Hohokam near Phoenix, Arizona. In 1892, President Benjamin Harrison created the Casa Grande Ruin Reservation to protect the one of a kind āCasa Grandeā, or Great House, thus becoming the first prehistoric and cultural site to be established in the United States.
