This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Kate Klonick, Molly Roberts, and Troy Edwards to talk through the week's big national security news stories, including:“MisAnthropic.” On Monday, Anthropic filed a civil complaint in the Northern District of California and a petition for hearing at the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit over the Department of Defense's designation of the frontier artificial intelligence company as a “supply chain risk.” The litigation capped off weeks of building tensions between Anthropic and Pentagon officials over the firm's two ethical red lines for the Defense Department and its use of its AI model, Claude, specifically around widespread surveillance of Americans and the use of AI and autonomous weapons. What exactly are the Pentagon's grounds for designating Anthropic as a supply chain risk, and how does Anthropic argue that doing so is inconsistent with the law? And what might the implications be for the AI industry as a whole?“The Mashhadian Candidate.” Fears that Iran would respond to the ongoing Israeli-U.S. military campaign through overseas terrorism have come to a head this week, as reports emerged that U.S. intelligence had detected an encrypted message being transmitted from Iran that may serve as “an operational trigger” for assets sitting outside of the country. What do we know about Iran's involvement in past clandestine operations, including terrorism? And what does it mean that this is all happening at a moment when the Justice Department and FBI have lost so many of their experienced national security personnel?“Maricopa-calypse Now.” Federal investigators have ramped up several inquiries that appear to be aimed at longstanding—and, thus far, unsubstantiated—allegations of fraud in the 2020 election that are particularly popular with President Trump and his closest supporters. Last month, FBI agents executed a search warrant on Fulton County's election office and confiscated ballots and voting equipment used in 2020. Last week, the FBI reportedly subpoenaed records from a conservative Arizona legislator over the state senate's audit of the 2020 election results in Maricopa County. And days later, the Department of Homeland Security's Homeland Security Investigations office (or HSI) requested records from Arizona state officials regarding their own investigations into alleged 2020 malfeasance. What should we make of these developments? And at what point should we be concerned about the federal government's engagement in these sorts of matters in advance of the upcoming 2026 midterms? This week's object lessons are all-consuming. Kate is celebrating online legal analysis by drinking from her Balkinization mug. Troy is lamenting yet another slate of firings at the FBI by drinking from his EX FED mug. Scott, finding himself with unexpected free time at Union Station, devoured Barbara Tuchman's “A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century.” And Molly introduces us to the texturally triggering cherimoya. On this Wednesday episode of Right On Radio host Jeff is joined by John Brisson of We've Read the Documents for a wide‑ranging, fast‑moving conversation that mixes scripture, current events and prophetic interpretation. The show opens with the regular "Word on Word" segment comparing John 10:11 and Deuteronomy 7:9, followed by a preview of an important Podbean announcement Jeff teases for Friday. Jeff and John dissect a viral literary oddity — Leslie Donald Epstein's 1979 novel King of the Jews — and compare it to earlier prophetic/fictional coincidences (Ingersoll Lockwood, Baron Trump) as they explore themes of cultural projection, anti‑Christian currents in modern thought, and symbolic covers and characters that mirror contemporary figures. The discussion shifts to U.S. domestic politics: controversy around election integrity, the SAVE Act, subpoenas and evidence retrieval in Maricopa and Georgia, reports about DOJ actions around autopen cases, and concerns about National Guard mobilization and expanding detention infrastructure. They weigh possibilities from humiliation rituals to actual exposures that could reshape American politics. Internationally, Jeff and John analyze the Iran conflict, Israel's rhetoric, recent U.S.–Russia communications (including Trump's call with Putin), and shifting energy/financial alignments — including talk of moving energy trades back into U.S. dollars and fractures in BRICS. Military developments and new weapons technology (particle beams/laser/orbital strike) and their strategic implications are examined, with references to historical programs and contemporary contractors. Interwoven with political analysis are prophetic readings: the hosts debate interpretations of the rider on the white horse, whether Trump or another figure fits end‑time archetypes, and how emerging geopolitics might tie to eschatological timelines. They also touch on cultural disclosure topics (institutionalized sexual abuse revelations) and the societal consequences of increasing mainstream acknowledgment. The episode closes with practical notes: an invitation to the weekly Wednesday prayer call on Telegram, a personal update about Jeff's father's hospitalization and a pastoral reminder to love God, family and community. Listeners can expect theology, politics, conspiracy analysis, prophetic reflection and calls to prayer across this episode. Want to Understand and Explain Everything Biblically? In this March 11 episode of Badlands Daily, CannCon and Ashe in America begin with light morning banter before diving into a growing discussion about election investigations tied to Maricopa County, Arizona. The hosts react to reports that the FBI is in possession of election materials connected to the county and explore what that could mean as multiple investigations continue to unfold. The conversation expands into the discovery of previously hidden FBI investigations tied to President Trump, including a case reportedly uncovered within restricted FBI systems. CannCon and Ashe discuss how internal whistleblowers and investigators are now surfacing documents that had allegedly been buried within the bureau's internal databases. They also examine claims that congressional investigators and federal authorities may be coordinating on a broader review of election administration in multiple states. The discussion focuses on whether Arizona represents only the beginning of a multi phase effort to investigate election procedures across the country.

Ashe in America fills in for Jon Herold and dives into several major developments shaping the political landscape. She begins by examining signs of structural reform within federal agencies, highlighting new policies affecting small business loans, entitlement program work requirements, and apprenticeship expansion as examples of broader efforts to reduce fraud and encourage economic growth. Ashe argues that these systemic changes, rather than headline grabbing announcements, may be the real indicators of whether government reform efforts are working. The conversation then turns to election integrity. Ashe analyzes the SAVE Act and new legislation aimed at restricting unsolicited mail in ballots, explaining how these proposals target two of the three main vulnerabilities she believes exist in the election system: fake voters and fake ballots. She also walks through a detailed timeline of events surrounding the Maricopa County audit following the 2020 election, pointing to repeated subpoena violations, overwritten log files, and other conduct that is now reportedly drawing federal investigative attention. The episode closes with discussion about political narratives surrounding election investigations, the ongoing debate over Tina Peters' case, and why transparency and accountability remain essential if Americans are ever going to rebuild trust in the electoral system.

In this March 9 episode of Badlands Daily, CannCon and Zak Paine unpack breaking news that the FBI reportedly seized election records from Maricopa County, Arizona as part of an expanding voting investigation. The hosts discuss the significance of federal authorities quietly obtaining files from the nation's largest election jurisdiction and what it could signal about the direction of ongoing investigations. The conversation explores how the Maricopa action may connect to earlier investigations in places like Fulton County, with speculation that corroborating evidence from multiple jurisdictions could open the door to broader probes across other states. CannCon and Zak also examine the timing of the raid, the possibility that the operation was conducted quietly while public attention focused elsewhere, and why they believe Arizona may only be the beginning. The episode closes with discussion about potential next steps, including whether Michigan and other states could become the focus of additional investigations as more documentation and whistleblower accounts surface.

Ringmaster James T. welcomes Maricopa County Supervisor Mark Stewart to talk about who exactly is in charge of the elections in Maricopa County.
How long are we expected to ignore the red flags when it comes to trans committing mass shootings? The latest tragedy at a hockey rink in Rhode Island is part of what is becoming a troubling list of mass shooting committed by trans individuals and yet Democrats like Jayapal are at the same time trying to introduce legislation to alter the civil rights bill to include trans people. Speaking of not so savvy democrats, presidential democrat hopefuls attended the world security conference in Munich this past weekend and they were definitely not prepared for questions as all of them failed badly. The queen of dumb you ask, well that was AOC. Plus, while Dems failed on the world stage, Rubio looked presidential, we talk about who's in charge of Maricopa County elections, Dems hate the SAVE act and we tell you why, liberal media defend Olympians hating America, and so much more.

In a bid for government transparency, the Goldwater Institute is now asking the federal court judge to allow Maricopa taxpayers to see how their money is being spent. We talked to the VP of their litigation team about the case.
The Ringmaster took a three-day weekend but never fear, Chris Krok is here. The biggest news this past weekend, not covered by the lefty media, is a mob of protestors invaded a Minneapolis church because one of the pastors was an ICE affiliate. This horrible scene was also covered live by Don Lemon and his podcast, making you think what a coincidence. The Maricopa County sheriff put his foot in his mouth when he went on record saying he is watching ICE activities as much as protesters and he had no problem arresting ICE agents if need be. This republican sheriff made a lot of constituents angry. What is going on in Mesa? During a flag football game, a fight broke out between parents. The fight was so big it merited 70 plus police and sheriff agents to break it up. Plus, we check in on your talkbacks on your free iHeart radio app.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is known as the Angel of Death--Shaun Attwood served 26 months in Arpaio's jail before being sentenced to prison. Prison was easier. This is his story.Shaun Attwood was a millionaire day trader in Arizona, but his hedonistic lifestyle of drugs and parties came to an abrupt end in 2002 when a SWAT team broke down his door. Shaun found himself on remand in Maricopa jail with a $750,000 cash bond and all of his assets seized. The nightmare was only just beginning as he was submerged in a jail in which rival gangs vied for control, crystal meth was freely available, and where breaking rules could result in beatings or death. Sheriff Joe Arpaio's jails have the highest death rate in the U.S. Hard Time is the harrowing yet darkly humorous account of the time Shaun spent submerged in a nightmarish world of gang violence and insect-infested cells, eating food unfit for animals. His remarkable story provides a revealing glimpse into the tragedy, brutality, comedy, and eccentricity of prison life. 24 color photographs.https://amzn.to/4mRJmRhBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

She was born in Southern California, but after a pivotal move nearly four hundred miles east in her middle school years, she found herself having trouble fitting in. Several years later, and not long after finding out she was pregnant, Angelique was introduced (by a mutual friend) to a Maricopa newcomer who she seemed to have a lot in common with. The Broken Cycle Media team is deeply honored and grateful that Angelique was willing to so rawly share about her experiences and all that came next for her after courageously surviving an alleged attempted fetal abduction and attempted arson. Maricopa county is giving MCSO some financial help. How will the money be spent?
The political landscape has undergone a seismic transformation over the past three decades, and few understand this evolution better than Eric Lems. From his early days as a White House intern during the Clinton administration to his current role as Executive Director of the Maricopa County Democratic Party, Lems offers a rare perspective on how technology has revolutionized campaign strategy.Remember when campaigns meant phone banks with physical landlines and CNN dominated the 24-hour news cycle? Lems walks us through the remarkable journey from those analog days to our current era of sophisticated data analytics and targeted digital media. He explains how Howard Dean pioneered online fundraising, Obama mastered internet organizing, and Trump revolutionized digital targeting—creating the integrated approach campaigns use today. What makes Maricopa County so politically significant? As the fourth largest county in America and second largest voting jurisdiction, Maricopa stands alone among major metropolitan areas as a true battleground. With nearly 5 million residents spread across diverse communities ranging from wealthy gated neighborhoods to farmlands, winning here is essential to winning Arizona. Lems reveals how migration patterns from the Midwest, Northeast, and California have gradually transformed the state from reliably Republican to competitively purple.Drawing from his Fortune 500 background at Microsoft and SAP, Lems shares how corporate leadership skills translate to political strategy—and crucially, which corporate habits to leave behind. He emphasizes that trust forms the foundation of effective campaign teams, creating an environment where candidates can be vulnerable and weather disagreements. The most valuable lesson from his 2016 Clinton campaign experience? "Never take victory for granted and keep your foot on the gas until you cross the finish line."As concerns about election integrity dominate political discourse, Lems provides reassurance by revealing the bipartisan verification process that occurs before every election and the dedicated civil servants who ensure fair results regardless of personal political views. He warns that the real threats come through legislative efforts to restrict voting access—making vigilance and participation essential to preserving our democratic system.Ready to get involved or learn more about local organizing? Throughout the 1910s, Carl Hayden and others failed to get their storage dam on the Gila River. However, in the early 1920s they were able get a smaller reclamation project approved. Too bad it would do little, if anything, to help the water-strapped Maricopa and O'odham living on the Pima Reservation.

In Maricopa, Arizona, a strange & cold blooded murder, heard over a phone call, a very odd alibi, and much stupidity all stem from a dating app match that lead to a romance, that seemed destined for greatness. But cracks soon began to appear, when one one the couple accused the other of cheating, with their own sibling. A break up seemed to be the answer, until a kidnapped dog, and attempted arson got the murder ball rolling!!Along the way, we find out that Nelly will perform at any festival there is, that biting that causes cuts that need stitches is not a form of affection, and that "borrowing" a newborn baby to fool a DNA test is pretty insane!!Hosted by James Pietragallo and Jimmie WhismanNew episodes every Thursday!Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com and use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.comGo to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports!Follow us on...twitter.com/@murdersmallfacebook.com/smalltownpodinstagram.com/smalltownmurderAlso, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports!
