For Episode 20 I was joined by James Dowler James is a breathwork specialist and teaches people how to use the breath as a vehicle for healing and optimising their physical and mental health. James suffered from chronic fatigue & chronic pain and then discovered meditation to help alleviate it. Fast forward 6 months all his symptoms had gone after practicing more specifically with breath work. James took a leap of faith, left the ‘day job' and now spends his time teaching people to harness the power of their breath to alleviate emotional issues, improve their physical health and connect them to a deeper, more spiritual part of themselves. I leant so much myself in this episode and now see how we can use the breath as a skill. We did a deep dive on... How we can all be breathing better. How/Where to start our brrathwork journey. For episode 13 I was joined by Cameron Parker (@camparkerhud) Cam is traveling up and down the UK well in excess of 1000 miles a week delivering powerful messages in schools, colleges and universities with a mission to not only inspire as many people as he can but to provide content that can change lives. For episode 8 and in fact the first one of 2019 I am joined by Dan Thomas of Headstrong Mentality. Dan is a fitness enthusiast and athlete who is well ingrained in the Crossfit community. He launched Headstrong Mentality to not only promote the benefits of working on your mind as well as the body but also share his own thoughts and battles with anxiety and depression and how staying physically active helps him better traverse through life and deal with these often intense feelings or sensations that come with them. Not only has Cam achieved some amazing athletic achievements as a professional athlete but is also a respected medical doctor, coach and business owner. For Episode 5 of the ‘Getting To Grips With..' Podcast I traveled down to the big smoke to meet Paul Mcgregor. Paul lost his dad to suicide 9 years ago and we delve into how he coped and came to terms with this tragic loss and what he is now doing to help inspire others to speak out. He has been featured on the likes of Vogue, Huffington Post GQ, and Esquire to name a few. When I met him in London to record this episode he was also hosting his first mental health meet up where campaigners and amazing individuals took the stage to discuss some of their experience and battles with mental illness. Daniel is a true gentleman and is one half of the incredible movement and company ‘Milk For Tea' ‘Milk For Tea' exists to help men live to their full potential through workshops, coaching and community work while supporting them to find their truest identity, recognise their value and live out their purpose.
