Brian raced as part of a four-person team called Team One Life, and they raised money for a charity called Special Love. Alyssa, herself an accomplished professional triathlete and ultrarunner, coached Brian and served as the crew chief during the race. We talked about training, fueling, logistics, and some of the unexpected difficulties they faced on their way from California to New Jersey.

On today's podcast I chatted with Londoner, Len Lipitch who celebrates 50 years living in Ireland this year. He started off as an accountant and working on one of the first “Flower Power” festivals changed his career trajectory. Len worked providing visuals to touring bands, he worked in a number of different countries and then he came to Ireland for a simpler life. He came to West Cork, bought a cottage for £1,000 and ended up living without water or electricity with a donkey called Honk, who was his only mode of transport for two years! Many years later after some twists and turns a Tarot Card reader told him that his life was about to change, and days later he picked up a young German hitchhiker, Sabine Lenz, which was the beginning of a very special love story and a successful jewellery business, Enibas. Brett Ender is the co-host of The Meat Mafia Podcast, one of my favorite podcasts to listen to, which addresses fundamental problems in our food and healthcare system. His principles are simple: eat real foods, buy locally, and cook your own meals. Brett is an advocate of carnivore & animal-based forms of eating. Brett Ender embarked on a healing journey in 2016 that would see him hospitalized from debilitating ulcerative colitis and taking a $65,000 drug once every 6-8 weeks. He eventually changed his approach and evolved to having zero signs of inflammation or microinflammation. This was due to Brett adopting an animal-based died. Brett ended up going full carnivore and within 2 weeks and saw a complete abatement of symptoms. His story led him into a deep exploration of health and nutrition, food systems, and regenerative agriculture. Today, he is half of the Meat Mafia duo, alongside his friend Harry Gray, where they explore nutrition and food with guests on their podcast.
