Being a teacher of the Gospel is a noble and honorable task, however, preparation is essential in order to prevent biasness and presupposition. Since humans are used as teachers, humility also plays a role in self-examination to ensure that the proper message is given to God's people. James 3:1 admonishes believers about self-deception and limits the number of teachers in his epistle because harsh judgment is given to those who are not diligent and humble enough for the position. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/keith-a-jefferson/support

I am sure that we all have heard familiar words like, "only God can judge me" and "...he that cast the first stone." Often these statements are taking out of context, and used to justify sinful actions. Is God the ultimate judge? Yes, very much so! Psalm 1 tells Believers to not walk, stand or sit with scoffers, but they are to delight in the Law of the Lord. In saying that, Believers understand that they are to please God by living holy because it is written, "Be holy, because I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). During the walk of holiness, vigilance and discernment are key to avoid the pitfalls that present themselves as for the "greater good" when in reality they are clandestine attempts to mock God. To have that discernment, it is essential that Believers constantly meditate on the Word of God to unveil the agendas and attacks of those who oppose God. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/keith-a-jefferson/support

In this episode, we discuss some myths about ministry that often go unchecked among believers and unbelievers alike. One common fabrication is that ministry only pertains to pastoral ministry. This myth claim is easily proved false when referencing Ephesians 4:11-12 because the passage outlines the many offices that exist under the umbrella of ministry. Furthermore, certain traditions and attitudes have been passed down with no or little validation which distorts the processes and works that go into the many forms of ministry as outlined in Scripture. In warfare, it is common practice for commanders to identify the strengths of their adversary. Once the strength of the adversary is accessed, then commanders take inventory of their resources to exploit the enemy before battle. Unbeknownst to some, there is a battle being fought daily since the beginning, and it is called spiritual warfare. The interesting thing about spiritual warfare is that we cannot always see the assets and maneuvers of Satan since his activities takes place mostly in the spiritual realm; and, he has already identified our weaknesses by using instruments such as racism. One may ask, what are the necessary steps must we take to keep from falling prey to the attacks of our enemy? First, we must honestly access and prepare ourselves with Scripture and prayer. Next, we must go humbly before our commander, Jesus Christ, to receive our marching orders. Only He can maneuver us and go with us to thwart the influence of Satan over humankind. Moreover, it is critical that we do not become puffed up in thinking human wisdom and abilities can outwit the evil devices of Satan – so remain humble and obedient.
