Two board games enthusiasts talk about what they just played.
Remember Ridley Scott's Alien? A movie with the infamous scene where John Hurt convulses around until a creature bursts out of his chest, spraying the bewildered crew with gore as they look on in horror? Ravensburger has a new family board game based on that movie. Josh and Al talk about why Alien: Fate of the Nostromo works better than it should and what it means to really be a horror game.
WE'RE BACK AND FACE TO FACE. To mark such a wonderful occasion, we're talking about two games that really remind us as to why we play games TOGETHER. We're talking about the excellent hidden traitor game The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31 and the delightful "Super Flicking Game" Crash Octopus.

In an attempt to bring a quick end to the seemingly endless nightmare that is 2020, Josh declares that his Best Games of Year list is ready with Unmatched: Cobble and Fog and Pan Am. Meanwhile Al has revisted an old favorite with Railways of the World (aka Railroad Tycoon: The Board Game)
Josh and Al catch up on what they've been playing. Al has been digging into the world of Fowers Games (Fugitive, Sabotage, Burgle Brothers and Getaway Driver) while Josh has been feeling the Power of Love with both of the new Back To the Future games (Back In Time and Dice Through Time).
Have we talked about how much we love Prospero Hall and the wonderful games they design? Because we really do love Prospero Hall.
Josh and Al finish up their look back at the games discussed on their first year of episodes. More games are voted into the ICFTT! Hall of Fame, plus Josh and Al catch up on what they've been playing while stuck indoors, all in the amount of time it takes for Scythe to fall into favor, then fall out and then back in.
We go back through the games we played and talked about and give an update on where we stand on them, as well as induct a few into the newly founded yet very prestigious ICFTT Hall of Fame.
Powers or no powers? Betting or no betting? Josh and Al take a deep dive into Downforce and the other racing games from Wolfgang Kramer, debating which elements they like best from this long-running series.
Josh and Al wade through a veritable sea of consonants and apostrophes in the excellent deckbuilding/area control game Tyrants of the Underdark! After paying their respects to Lolth the Queen of Spiders, they head out to the auction only to find they forgot all their 5 dollar bills in the Reiner Knizia classic High Society.
Josh and Al gear up and explore the depths of Sanctum, a Diablo inspired Euro game from Czech Games Edition.

Josh and Al are back for more Halloween gaming! This week we're taking a look at two games we may not have given a fair chance when they first came out. Up first is Dead of Winter, considered by some to be a modern classic and the ultimate zombie board game. Then we're taking a look at Escape From the Aliens From Outer Space, certainly one of the most unique games we've ever featured on the show.
The Halloween season is upon us and Josh and Al are already celebrating with a night of spooky games. Up first is Lifeform, a great big love letter to Alien and certainly one of the best games of 2019. Rounding out the night is Tiny Epic Zombies, a very small game that's not only one of the best zombie games we've seen in ages, it packs a ton of gameplay, variety and fun.
This week Josh and Al talk about Cowboy Bebop: Board Game Boogie, what makes it unique and how it compares to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the previous Jasco/Lynnvander Studios game. Then they set out for Amity Island to play Jaws from Ravensburger and Prospero Hall. You already know what sized boat you're gonna need. See you space cowboy...
Josh and Al enjoy a day of 2 player gaming with Unmatched and Undaunted: Normandy. Also, our pick for "Top Prefix in Gaming 2019!"
Cosmic Encounter is one of the greatest games ever published. That's it, that's the take away of this episode. But hey, if you want to hear why that is, how was WBC and GenCon, or what Al's favorite dinosaur is, give this episode a listen.
A Star Wars pick up and deliver game, an abstract bag building game, the story of how Josh and Al met and the beginning and end of the "relating games to albums era," all in one episode! Punch it, Chewie!
This week is all about the underdogs. We love finding fun, lesser known or misunderstood games! Join us in our first "Hidden Gems" episode. Up first is the underrated, overlooked slasher flick/hidden movement game Last Friday. Then we coat everything in a holographic sheen with Lazer Ryderz, the 1980s-video-rental-store-fever-dream-made-cardboard.
After a brief hiatus, Josh and Al are back and making up for lost time. First up is some talk about Betrayal Legacy but it's more a setup for our adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. We finish the night off with Magical Athlete and discuss why it's one of the most important games in our collections. It's "A Very Special Episode" if there ever was one!
Go get the rope, boys! Josh and Al talk about Western Legends and manage to not say the "S-word," but totally fail to not make Bruce Springsteen jokes when they chat about Thunder Road.
All the woodland creatures come out to hear Josh and Al talk about Root, the enormously popular game of cute animals and brutal warfare. Afterwards they play Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and run through their favorites from the deckbuilding series.
This week we talk about Josh's all-time favorite game. The one, the only...TWILIGHT IMPERIUM.
This episode is all about MONSTERS! First we talk about Monster Slaughter, a great big box of plastic that completely took us by surprise. Then we lift the veil on a game we've been designing, currently called "The Kaiju Project." Shameless self promotion ensues.
This week Al and Josh revisit Alan R. Moon's Andromeda and make their first explorations in Reiner Knizia's Blue Lagoon.
Josh and Al check into The Bloody Inn and find themselves in over their heads as the bodies pile up. They get out when they climb into their giant space mechs and unite the clans in Starship Samurai!
