It's about time for 'Part TWO' of this week's @EchoChamberFP https://www.instagram.com/echochamberfp/ and if you're in Manhattan, take note!!! We're getting all experimental with this new indie lo-fi horror / drama, which makes incredible use of colour & sound. THEN, we have the young lady who created the whole thing in the hot seat. We learn how she was able to get the different affects we see. Her journey to discovering her visual style, the relationship with she has with sleep, and a lot more!!! Watch the conversation: HERE! https://youtu.be/Xe1eBPMZhr8 'Nyctophobia' is the feature directorial debut from Seayoon Jeong, which he also wrote. Liz (Olivia Clari Nice) struggles with nyctophobia (fear of the dark), a form of anxiety disorder that causes sleeping issues. She desperately tries to fall asleep by entering her “inner world,” where she can access happy childhood memories. However, she becomes trapped in a time loop in her lucid dreams and encounters a nightmare, Dark Figure (Christopher Gilbert), who appears in various clown forms. The loop pushes her deeper into her dreams, forcing her to reach her subconscious, where she meets her worst nightmare: the original form of Dark Figure. In 'Part Two' we have: Nyctophobia Watch Review: Here. https://youtu.be/iaLlZ6jUvYw Dances With Film: NY, World Premiere: 19th May 2023 2024 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival Sunday, 9th June 2024 at 18:00pm EDT Friday, 23rd June 2024 at 19:15pm World Premiere, AbelCine Screening Room Manhattan Film Festival Thursday 27th June 2024, Cinema Village at 19:00 Buy Tickets: Here. https://manhattanff.com/view-screening/1951 Director: Seayoon Jeong Cast: Olivia Clari Nice, Sophia Biscotti, Christopher Gilbert, David Elliner, Soulo Smith Credit: A MYU Media Production Genre: Experimental, Horror, Thriller Running Time: 93 min Cert: 15 Trailer: Here. https://youtu.be/OyLYy2l3MR4 Website: Here. https://nyctophobiafearofthedark.com/ Facebook: Here. https://www.facebook.com/people/Nyctophobia/61558600417261/ Instagram: @film_nyctophobia https://www.instagram.com/film_nyctophobia/ ------------ *(Music) 'The Big Payback' (Instrumental) by EPMD - 2020 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/eftv/message

By talking about it, it's a first step for me to dealing with this fear. Phobias are persistent and excessive fear of objects, situations and activities. Fear of the dark being one of the common types of phobia though it's common among children, it can affect adults, young adults as well. Fear of the dark is common however if it disturbs your daily life like difficulty sleeping, going to certain work engagements because of the fear of leaving the house in the dark, then it becomes a problem and can be treated with therapy, however they are ways to dealing with it. Always here to help each other. Adios! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/martha-apendi/message

Scott sits down with Erica, Gil, and Sen to discuss the design and making of his newest game, Alien: Fate of the Nostromo. We also discuss designing to an IP, and how to make a horror game. SHOW NOTES 0m58s: The original Alien film 1m31s: The other board game based on the film Alien. Scott is not counting board games influenced by the film without the official license, like Nemesis or The Awful Green Things From Outer Space. He's also only counting games based specifically on the original film, so board games based on any of the sequels, like Aliens, or Alien vs. Predator, do not count. 1m38s: The “Optimus Prime Conundrum” is a term coined by the legendary and wonderful podcast Flip the Table. It describes a situation where a game breaks the IP it's based on by allowing multiple copies of one character. This was coined in their very first episode, in which they reviewed the Transformers Adventure Game, where each player gets to play a separate version of Optimus Prime. 2m00s: The publisher Ravensburger. Note that Scott pronounces it “Ray-vensburger”, while the other hosts pronounce it “Rah-vensburger”. 3m34s: The films Elf, Home Alone, and Gremlins, and the animated series Gargoyles. 8h25m: The Topps Alien trading card set. 11m15s: The Betrayal games. 14m11s: Back to the Future: Dice through Time. 16m06s: The film Ten Little Indians, also known as And Then There Were None. There have been several versions of this film, all based on an Agatha Christie novel. 28m59s: Scott is correct in that Alien is the first film to provide a genuine “cat scare” - that is, a jump scare that turns out to just be a harmless cat. The so-called “cat scare,” in which the source of a jump scare turns out to be something ordinary, appeared 35 years before Alien. TV Tropes credits it to producer Val Lewton, in his 1942 film Cat People. However, despite the film's name, the source of the scare was a bus, not a cat. Note that one month after Alien's wide release in the US, The Amityville Horror came out; it also featured a cat-powered “cat scare.” Perhaps between these two films, the cliche was solidified. 34m15s: The Horrified games: Horrified and Horrified: American Monsters. A short checklists of cryptids: Bigfoot, Mothman, Windigo, and the Jersey Devil. 36m39s: Camp Grizzly 37m17s: Clue/Cluedo, 1313 Dead End Drive 39m19s: Dread 39m51s: Kingdom: Death Monster 41m03s: Peter Jackson's "splatstick" film Braindead (released in North America as Dead Alive) 42m49s: Dixit, Weird Stories, Unspeakable Words 44m03s: Final Girl 45m05s: Mansions of Madness 47m47s: Geoff's book Achievement Relocked, Ico, Death Stranding, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Aerith from Final Fantasy VII 49m15s: Nyctophobia, Ten Candles, Vampire Hunter, Waldschattenspiel/Shadows in the Forest 51m39s: Apocrypha, the World of Darkness series of games (including Vampire: The Masquerade) 53m33s: Erica's news: Disney Sidekicks, Rat Queens: To the Slaughter 54m29s: Sen's news: Avatar Legends RPG 55m16s: Gil's news: GameTek on the global shipping snarl, Weird Stories

Adam works with a man that had a fear of ghosts, poltergeists and the supernatural. Adam creates a hypnosis session set in a haunted house, to demonstrate that he has the ability to feel resourceful and relaxed and sleep well even if he was living in his previous 'worst nightmare'. Adam reverses his old pattern of believing that noises were evidence of a ghost to now become evidence of a guardian angel that is there to protect and keep him safe. Adam uses the logic that if he was spent two decades believing in ghosts that are there to cause harm he can believe in a guardian angel that is there to protect. Adam Cox is one of the world's most innovative hypnotists and is known for being the hypnotherapist of choice for Celebrities, CEO's and even Royalty. No tā iznāca varen jestra erudīcijas spēle. Epizodes noslēgumā, kā ierasti, Kreisais TOP 5, kurā katrs aprunāsim 5 spēles, kurām būtu jābūt jebkurā galdaspēļu kafejnīcā. Are you afraid of the dark, weirdos? Continuing our very spooky Halloween episodes this week we are bringing you an episode about all the things that lurk in the dark corners of the world... or do they? Lauren is going to be teaching us about the fear of the dark (Nyctophobia) and even the fear of doors (Entamaphobia) Is this a leftover anxiety from our evolution? Or is there something really there? Ashley is going to talk about the thing that could be there... hush, hush, hush... here comes the bogeyman. A creature that's been haunting us since the beginning of time. How does he evolve every century? How does he look different depending on who is looking at him? And what will he look like when you see him? Grab your nightlight, tuck yourself in and get ready for a submission for the Midnight Society
Welcome back and welcome to your favorite spoooooooky DnD podcast! This week we're continuing our month of Halloween themed episodes by creating an adventure based on Nyctophobia: the fear of the dark! Not only do we talk about some interesting shadowy evil doers, but we talk about ways to incorporate actual real life darkness into your players gaming experiences! So dim the lights and grab a seat for Fright Forge part 2! Our rec room recommendation this week is for the strategy board game Dead of Winter! Dead of Winter is a semi cooperative survival strategy game that tasks you and your friends with collecting supplies to survive the winter while besieged by ravenous zombies. There are something like 50 unique scenarios, and a variety of characters to play as all with their own interesting survival abilities. We love it, and we think you will too! As always, if you have any ideas about how to improve or expand upon our creations we want to hear them! How have you overcome the prevalence of dark vision in your games? And what kind of spooky adventures are you running this month? If you have something to share or if there's anything that YOU want us to help build please let us know! We can be found on twitter @worldforgepod and via email at worldforgepod@gmail.com! If you're feeling particularly generous, please consider leaving us a review on Apple Podcasts or your podcasting app of choice! Leaving us a review or sharing our show with a friend are the best ways to support this podcast completely for FREE, and really helps to get our show in front of new listeners! We of course want to thank you all for tuning in, and we also want to thank James Duke for our amazing theme music, he can be found at jamesduke.info! Talk to you again next week listeners!

Episode 24 - Halloween is just around the corner so Pete, Sean, and Will are joined by the perfect guest - Eric Striffler, creator of many fun and scary projects including Nyctophobia (an immersive and interactive theatre experience) to pitch a historically revisionist supernatural horror film titled "Bell Witch". Originally released October 24th, 2016. Based on a supposed true story (or urban legend), James Woods as President Andrew Jackson on his death bed recalls the time in his youth he encountered the poltergeist that oppressed the Bell Family of Tennessee. We flash back to a young General Jackson, played by Matthew McConaughey, as his team battles a menacing witch hell bent on terrorizing the Bell household. Conceptualized as a Netflix original movie produced by The Duffer Brothers, we present to you the horrifying true to life story of the "Bell Witch". Next Monday we continue pitching our Halloween themed movies, with a "Werewolf vs. College Football Team" horror sports film, joined by special guest, Fangoria's Editor-in-Chief Ken Hanley and his pitch for "Havasu Nights". We encourage our talented listeners to create posters of our latest pitch and please send them to any of the social media outlets listed below. Callie is a young woman with a bit of a past (and a mild case of nyctophobia), an adoring husband and a home filled with light … but where there is light there must also be darkness… Christopher Fowler made his name with chiller fiction, and Nyctophobia is a splendid return to the genre. It takes a gleeful inventory of the elements of the ghost story, and finds new ways to creep up on you, and most importantly of all – it is scary. Tim spent the night he read it nervously going round his house turning all the lights on.
