He got his start as a writer in 2009 with his spec script Sex, Greed, Money, Murder and Chicken Fried Steak about the Cullen Davis murders in Fort Worth, Texas. The script was chosen for the prestigious 2009 Hollywood Blacklist. In 2013, he wrote Far Below for David Oyelowo, and was hired to rewrite 2015's Captive, starring Oyelowo, Kate Mara, and Michael K. Williams. He also wrote a TV pilot and series entitled Golden Gate about 1960's era San Francisco that has been optioned by Demarest Films and wrote the limited TV series Vanished for Straight Up Films and Truly Original Entertainment. Reinhard adapted Undaunted for Rock Island Films. He wrote the screenplay Ackia for the Chickasaw Nation and award-winning director Nathan Frankowski. When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, and James, and the child's father and mother. — Luke 8:51 Yesterday my daily-dictionary app sent me the word coterie. This word comes to us from the French language and refers to an “inner circle of friends.” Luke's story of healings in this passage introduces Jesus' coterie—his inner circle of disciples. News had spread about Jesus' teaching and healings, so a crowd gathered as he and his disciples returned to Capernaum. Jairus, a local religious leader, came and pleaded with Jesus to heal his dying daughter. Then, on the way, Jesus was delayed by a woman who desperately needing healing from chronic bleeding. And by the time they reached Jairus's home, the young girl had died. Undaunted, Jesus entered her room anyway, followed by her parents and Peter, John, and James. Why does Jesus choose only Peter, John, and James to see him raise the little girl from death? Although Jesus' purpose isn't entirely clear, we see Peter, John, and James playing important roles later as they bear witness to the identity and power of Jesus, the risen Lord. Indeed, their testimony about Jesus in the New Testament helps to provide the foundations of the good-news message of God's love and salvation in Christ. Jesus has chosen each of us too to share about his amazing love and power so that people everywhere can have new life in him. Lord Jesus, strengthen our faith so that we too can be your witnesses in the world. Amen.

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Nikki High (http://OctaviasBookshelf.com). Classified as a black female, Ms. High opened an independent bookstore in her native Pasadena, California in 2023. She envisioned the literary hub as an homage to science fiction icon and Victim of White Supremacy Octavia Butler. Octavia's Bookshelf transmogrified it's mission after this year's apocalyptic wildfires in Altadena and Pasadena. Although Octavia's Bookshelf was spared, many of the black residents in the area were not. In fact, Ms. High and her husband were forced to evacuate and watched in horror as theirs was one of twelve houses that survived. Undaunted, Ms. High repurposed her store to become a donation center for wildfire victims. We'll talk about her spectacular effort and the impact of the wildfires on black homeowners some six months later. At great personal cost - his career, family, and reputation - Kevin sparked a global movement, becoming a beacon for survivors and a thorn in the side of the powerful.In the 1990s, his discoveries in Port Alberni, British Columbia, shattered his world and ignited his mission. He convened the first independent Tribunal into residential school crimes in 1998, founded The Truth Commission into Genocide in Canada in 2000, authored ‘Hidden from History: The Canadian Holocaust in 2001', and released the award-winning documentary ‘Unrepentant' in 2007. Artificial Intelligence, more commonly known as AI, is here to stay. But how we allow it to impact our lives, especially our spiritual lives, is an important conversation that needs to be had. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we spoke with a broadcaster who asked some tough questions to an AI program related to these matters and you had the opportunity to hear it speak for itself. Then our guest drew us back to God’s truth so that we could examine and make clear, bible-based judgements on what it said and how its assertions stand up to biblical truth. We are not the first to say it but it bears repeating, teaching is one of the hardest, most important jobs there is today. But with so many controversial ideas infiltrating the classroom today, what recourse is available for parents who are looking for solid, reliable, old-fashioned quality school and education for their kids? We spoke to a father daughter team who told us about the one option that parents in several states are taking advantage of and how it is instilling quality values and educational excellence in the children who attend. They also addressed how best to build a solid educational foundation for children, how to get educational and life truths to go deeper into their hearts and minds and why it is necessary to continually encourage our teachers who are on the front lines preparing the kids who will run our future. Ask any couple in their golden years and they will tell you that marriage is a fluid experience. Who we were at the alter by the very nature of combining two lives together over a period of time, will change. And so too will the challenges that couples face but our guest offered some practical guidance for those in what he calls a “seasoned marriage” on how to anticipate and navigate those challenges while leaning hard on the Lord and each other every step of the way.
