Deep within the ruins of an ancient Sith temple, Kylo Ren stood with his unstable blade crackling, caught between admiration and resentment, as Darth Vader emerged, his presence suffocating, the air itself recoiling. Then Moff Gideon entered, while Asajj Ventress prowled the edges, twin sabres igniting, her gaze calculating. A metallic rasp followed as General Grievous stepped forward, stolen lightsabres humming in his grasp. Past, present and future - each a force of ambition, none willing to yield. This was no mere gathering. Six scoundrels had gathered: Captain Hook was plotting his revenge, Jafar envisioned ruling unopposed, Maleficent smiled at the thought of thorns engulfing the kingdom, Prince John was devising new taxes to fill his coffers, the Queen of Hearts brooded over her next decree of decapitation, while Ursula lounged with a sly grin, imagining helpless souls entangled in her tentacles. I've homebrewed an expansion for my favourite legacy game - using as many of the previous bits as possible! Highlights include: - Pat ate a sheep's head - Why wouldn't you have all the dinosaurs? - Have I unbalanced the game? Does it matter? - Sometimes you visit Jurassic Park and it's fun. Sometimes though, people die - Listen up, Prospero Hall! - Maybe needs some budget?

Hello! My name is Gavin Jones and this week I'm going to be standing in for the wonderful Oliver with a guest review. Buckle up and adjust your rearview mirror - things are about to get wild. First gear. Screams of tortured rubber and plumes of acrid smoke fill the air as we barrel over the brow of the hill, rapidly advancing on our target. The tank is an incongruous sight, squat and menacing in the middle of the highway, two shiny black beetles flanking each side: SUVs filled with seemingly infinite numbers of violent goons, like clown cars of criminality. Our Flag Means Death is a romantic comedy (with emphasis on the romance) of pirates and gentlemanliness, hot off our RRR kick we've fallen hard for Eega, and we have thoughts on modern horror Barbarian. We get investing in property with Rebuilding Seattle by WizKids, scope out just how much love has gone into Sniper Elite: The Board Game by Rebellion Unplugged - a hidden movement board game based on the video game - and Prospero Hall smashes it yet again with The Rocketeer: Fate of the Future from Funko Games. Zapraszamy do słuchania. Zapraszamy do słuchania. 00:00 – It's time to investigate. 05:06 – Ms. Marvel is wonderful. It's a celebration of cultural identity, with nuance, laughter, wisdom, community… we love it. 28:30 – Lifting the curse with shuffleboard at the Bristol Craft Beer Festival. 32:36 – Disney Villainous from Prospero Hall and Ravensburger is genuinely kind of incredible. The art and component quality is staggering, the asymmetrical play works really nicely, and it's easy to teach to new players. 49:16 – Crescent Moon is from Osprey Games, Steven Mathers and Navid Rahman. It's a slightly weird proposition, having a very specific player count. But the asymmetry is streamlined, the game leans into its theme to great effect, and the whole thing has us wanting to play it over and over. All that, and why we're bonkers for pollen, with Dan (@ThisDanFrost), Kris (@DigitalStrider), Peter (@XeroXeroXero), and Sam (@MrSamTurner). Our Spotify Playlist brings together lots of great thematic music inspired by the stuff we talk about. Go check it out, if you like. Links to where you can find us - StayingInPodcast.com Note: sometimes we'll have been sent a review copy of the thing we're talking about on the podcast. It doesn't skew how we think about that thing, and we don't receive compensation for anything we discuss, but we thought you might like to know this is the case.
In this episode, we have two anticipated games that hit the table. The new The Thing by Pendragon games. We also take a look at Rear Window from Funko and Prospero Hall. From Wikipedia: "Mark Sinclair (born July 18, 1967), known professionally as Vin Diesel, is an American actor and filmmaker. One of the world's highest-grossing actors, he is best known for playing Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise.Diesel began his career in 1990 but struggled to gain roles until he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the short film Multi-Facial (1995). This attracted the attention of Steven Spielberg, who was developing Saving Private Ryan (1998), and re-wrote elements of the film to allow Diesel to appear in a supporting role. Diesel subsequently voiced the titular character in The Iron Giant (1999) while gaining a reputation as an action star after headlining the Fast & Furious, XXX, and The Chronicles of Riddick film franchises." 01:20 AYURIS: Black Angel (Sébastien Dujardin, Xavier Georges, & Alain Orban, Pearl Games, 2019)Games Played Last Week:03:08 -Vengeance: Roll and Fight Episode 1 (Gordon Calleja, Noralie Lubbers, & Dávid Turczi, Mighty Boards, 2021)07:46 -Aquatica: Cold Waters (Ivan Tuzovsky, Arcane Wonders, 2020)11:30 -Excavation Earth (Gordon Calleja, Dávid Turczi, & Wai Yee, Mighty Boards, 2021)18:28 -MicroMacro: Crime City (Johannes Sich, Pegasus Spiele, 2020)19:09 -Daimyo: Rebirth of an Empire (Jérémy Ducret, La Boîte de Jeu, 2021)25:30 -Mage Knight Board Game (Vlaada Chvátil, WizKids, 2011)28:43 -Whale Riders (Reiner Knizia, Grail Games, 2021)30:36 -The King's Dilemma (Hjalmar Hach & Lorenzo Silva, Horrible Guild, 2019)31:51 -Takenoko (Antoine Bauza, Matagot, 2011)News (and why it doesn't matter): 34:10 Mindclash announces Voidfall35:30 Games Workshop's Gaunt's Ghosts36:06 Richard Halliwell, designer of Space Hulk, passed away36:38 Shipping costs from China skyrocket37:53 Prospero Hall's Fast & Furious: Highway Heist38:57 Topic: Market Differences: Video Games vs. Board Games
This week Julius tells us about the game Horrified. If you like the classic movie monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster & the Bride of Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf and the Creater from the Black Lagoon) then you may just like this game. This is a co-op game by Prospero Hall and published by Ravensburger that is reminiscent of Pandemic. Horrified (BGG, Ravensburger)
Prospero Hall makes the Top Gun Strategy Game, so that kinda links up those questions, except it doesn't. Also, the Top Gun Strategy Game consists of two phases: volleyball and dogfighting. It is awesome.
