Shocking stories told by twins who love true crime & hate people. We guarantee at least one gasp and at aleast one under the breath ”what the f**k?” per episode.
The People are the Worst podcast is an absolute gem that I stumbled upon a few weeks ago. From the moment I started listening to the first season, I was hooked and binged the entire thing in no time. This podcast is perfect for spooky season with its efficiently told, twisty true crime stories that are easy to follow. I highly recommend listening at 1 1/4 speed for an even more immersive experience.
One of the best aspects of The People are the Worst podcast is how it manages to deliver shockingly twisty true crime stories while also infusing humor into the episodes. Rachel and Rebecca, the hosts of the show, have a fantastic dynamic and their banter constantly had me laughing out loud. They have a unique ability to address dark and horrifying subject matter without making you feel like a psychopath for finding it entertaining. The stories they choose are always intriguing and never fail to surprise me with unexpected twists.
Another great aspect of this podcast is the pacing. Each episode is under an hour, making it perfect for quick listens during commutes or whenever you have some free time. The hosts do an excellent job of keeping the stories concise and engaging, so there's never a dull moment.
While there aren't many negative aspects to this podcast, one minor issue is that sometimes it's difficult to distinguish between Rachel and Rebecca's voices since they're identical twins. It would be helpful if they introduced themselves at the beginning of each episode to avoid any confusion.
In conclusion, The People are the Worst podcast is everything I needed when searching for a new podcast to listen to. It has captivating stories, hilarious hosts, and a perfect balance between creepy tales and comedic relief. I can't wait for season 2 and will continue to eagerly listen as soon as each new episode is released. If you're a fan of true crime podcasts with a twist, this one is definitely worth checking out!

This one had me riled up. When 31-year-old Patricia Jeschke didn't show up for work one day, her mother went to her house and was met with the most gruesome crime scene cops have ever seen. Patricia was a straight-laced woman who spent most of her spare time at church and didn't have an enemy in the world, so everyone was on edge. Police turn their attention to one woman who had no ties to the victim -- yet she spent nearly half a century in prison. Why were police so determined to put her away? Well the batsh*t reason was revealed in July 2024 and it's shocking, despicable and not their first time.
