Paul Joseph Fronczak was born on April 27, 1964 but was kidnapped from Michael Reece Hospital in Chicago, IL when he was just 2 days old. In March, 1966, a male toddler was abandoned outside a department store in New Jersey, and this child was quickly linked to Baby Paul, who disappeared two years earlier. He was immediately reunited with his parents, but growing up, Paul never really felt like he fit in with his family, Decades later, he took a DNA test, where the results showed that Paul was not who he thought he was. We found the real Paul Fronczak more than one year ago, in late 2018, but out of respect for his desire to remain anonymous, and respect for his family, we did not go public with the story. Nor will I go into detail about it now. I hope you understand. My main mission from the start has been to reunite my mother Dora with the child who was taken from her so many years ago. I have always kept you informed of all my progress, and I've relied greatly on your help and support, and I will continue to rely on you all. Host Scott Fisher opens the show with David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist of the New England Historic Genealogical Society and AmericanAncestors.org. David begins “Family Histoire News” with the story of an ancient Roman epitaph that’s been discovered. Hear the remarkable translation. David next shares the story of an entire country that now lists itself on AirBNB! Find out which country it is and what they’re saying about themselves. David also shares the story of a 96-year-old World War II veteran who kept a secret for over 70 years. Now that it’s out, he is getting his just recognition. David then says a “fond farewell” to the blogger AncestryInsider who has posted his last blog after ten years of anonymous critiques of the major genealogical companies. Then, Fisher begins his two part visit with Paul Fronczak of Henderson, Nevada. Paul was given to a Chicago couple as a toddler, as he was believed to have been the couple’s son, who had been kidnapped in 1964. Recently, Paul learned from DNA testing that he was not his parents’ son. He has written a book on this amazing story called “The Foundling,”   Paul talks to Fisher about how he convinced his parents to take the DNA test, and their reaction when they learned he was, in fact, not their son. In part two of Fisher’s interview with Paul Fronczak, DNA Detective CeCe Moore joins the discussion, explaining how she was able to reveal to Paul his real identity… his name, the names of his parents, and aided him in discovering the reason he may have been abandoned over fifty years ago.   Fisher opens the show with the latest on the strange case of Paul Fronczak, who grew up believing he had been kidnapped as a baby and then returned to his parents in Chicago.  But, a 2012 DNA test revealed that Paul was not his parents' natural child.  Two years later, Paul's advocates are coming close to identifying at least one of his birth families.  That in itself is a strange tale!  Here all about it with Fisher's Family Histoire News!   Fisher then keeps his promise to a listener who was wanting information on researching Swedish ancestors by bringing on professional researcher Kim Melchior.  Kim talks about the various records available, getting your ancestors "across the pond," and historic information on points such as why so many Swedes immigrated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Kim will give you some great insight.   Then Fisher visits with a couple from North Carolina, Clarence and Carolyn Jennings.  The Jennings recently discovered a 150 year old letter that revealed the fate of a family member in the Civil War... information long sought after by many Jennings researchers.  Hear the authors touching words as he describes to his mother the death of his brother on the battlefield.   Finally, Tom Perry of TMCPlace.com reveals a new version of a long established software that helps you to eliminate background noises from your audio recordings.  It's great news especially if you have old recordings that have distracting sounds in them.   That's all this week on Extreme Genes, America's Family History Show!
