After my baby was gone that glass made me feel ill just looking at it. I wanted to smash it on the floor, run away from it and simultaneously enshrine it as a tiny memory with her - but it was wrapped in in SO MUCH PAIN.The triggers come from the pain, this ache, this desire and longing for our baby, but pop up at the LEAST convenient time. When you just want to drink a coffee and put on some pants in PEACE!!!I found that talking about the triggers in therapy, writing about them, thinking about how I could fix them logically, did not help. There's a direct line to the triggers, and it's in a place you can tap into -in the moment - to come back to your center too: the body. After I learned how to do this, I was able to drink coffee again, see pregnant bellies, even go to the gynecologist, without panic attacks and falling down on the ground in a bundle of tears.I'm going to show you how I do this in Taming TFMR Triggers, a workshop I am putting together for you and holding LIVE on Monday, February 10th.Here's the link again to sign upwww.thetfmrdoula.com/triggers ($11 USD) live or catch the replay after Feb. 10th….And if you would like to shareyour TFMR Story on "Our TFMR Stories," email me here to find out more: sabrina at theTFMRdoula dot comAnd for more support follow atwww.instagram.com/thetfmrdoulaMusic clip:Pamgaea by Kevin MacLeodLink:https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4193-pamgaeaLicense:http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Lyn talks to relationship coach Cristie Cerniglia about how women can attract more attention and affection from their man. Cristie shares her personal journey, which began with the challenges of her parents' divorce and evolved into a passion for helping others strengthen their marriages. The discussion highlights the importance of shifting focus from complaints & criticism to gratitude & appreciation, the power of self-care, and the significance of women embracing their healthy feminine energy in relationships so men have the space to show up in their healthy masculine. KEY TAKEAWAYS Focus on Positivity: Shift your attention from what your partner isn't doing to what they are doing right. This change in focus will lead to your partner wanting to do more to make you happy and creates a more positive atmosphere in the relationship. Express Desires Clearly: Communicate your needs and desires in a way that inspires your partner, rather than complaining or demanding. This approach means you are more likely to be heard and receive more of what you want. Embrace Differences: Recognise and celebrate the differences between his masculine and your feminine energy. Understanding that the polarisation of these energies is what creates and enhances passion, chemistry, attraction and connection which is crucial for a healthy relationship. Take Responsibility for Your Happiness: Your happiness is your own responsibility. By focusing on self-care and personal happiness, you can create a more fulfilling relationship because it doesn't place that burden on your partner. Practice Gratitude: Show appreciation for your partner's efforts, no matter how small. Acknowledging their contributions can strengthen your bond and encourage them to continue to make more effort. BEST MOMENTS "When we focus on what he's not doing or what we wish he would do, we're going to spend most of our time unhappy." "I realised I was doing some of that and I needed to stop and I needed to treat him like a smart, capable man, because that's who I married." "It's not helpful to just keep pointing the finger at him and saying, it's you, it's you, it's you." "Your husband's number one priority is that you're happy. That's when he feels successful as a man and as a husband." "Miserable people don't have happy relationships. Happy people do. So let's get 'you' happy first." In many episodes, we talk about what men are doing wrong, and what men should be fixing in relationships, because they are supposed to be the leaders, but often one problem is women won't let their men lead. In this episode, we talk about the book "The Surrendered Wife" by Laura Doyle
Simply Convivial: Organization & Mindset for Home & Homeschool
Now, I've read a lot of Christian marriage books that talk about love and respect, but none have actually ever given such specific examples like Empowered Wife. I think a Christian book these days could never be as pointed and blunt and specific as Laura Doyle is because specifies are immediately denounced as legalism.I have been married for over 20 years and have always paid attention to trying to be respectful, but I found her specificity and examples clarifying and helpful. She pulls no punches in saying that a wife respecting her husband in very concrete ways is essential to an intimate marriage. We really have bought the enlightenment and feminist assumptions of the world that if we give respect, we are diminished in some way, and I think Laura Doyle does a great job of giving stories and evidence that we are happier, more secure, more cherished and loved - that is, we are MORE and better when we give over respect and trust, even when it's scary. What have been your takeaways about showing respect? Which of her examples stood out to you or do you have examples of your own of changes you've been able to make to increase the respect you give your husband?Mystie Winckler encourages moms to organize their attitudes and get traction at home so we are no longer overwhelmed or frustrated with homemaking. We are a community of Christian women striving to be competent, cheerful homemakers so we are fruitful, faithful, and hospitable. Subscribe for regular encouragement!

Join the Empowered Wife book club inside Convivial Circle: https://convivialcircle.comThe Simply Convivial team discusses what it takes to have a happy marriage - and why that's so important.Empowered Wife (find on Amazon: https://amzn.to/45ju0wY ) sounds cringy and feminist, but it's actually about taking responsibility for yourself, about recognizing and stopping excuses and blaming and complaining, and embracing a femininity that enjoys masculinity. It's "empowered" because wives are the relationship keepers, connection-makers; we do a lot to make everyone around us either flourish or flounder in misery. Laura Doyle teaches 6 skills to foster connection, intimacy, with your husband and in a lot of ways, most of them boil down to learning how to be a happy, content, feminine woman - where feminine doesn't mean frilly and flowery, but biologically and culturally feminine - nurturing, relationship-fostering, connection-making, receptive, grateful home-builders. Then she also throughout admonishes women to not belittle men for being masculine, but be quiet when we're uncomfortable with masculine expressions and appreciate being given special treatment because we're women, and to not emasculate our husbands with disrespect - which she goes to great lengths of very normal examples to show how easily we slip into disrespectful expressions. So I'd love to hear some of your takeaways or thoughts from anywhere in the book, really, about what it means to embrace being a woman, being feminine. *DISCLAIMER - Rebecca's an idiot and forgot to connect her microphone to our recording platform so she sounds more echoey than usual. You would think after 98 episodes, we would have this down but you'd be wrong. On October 1, 1985, 17-year-old Michele "Missy" Avila went out with her friend, Laura Doyle. Hours later, the Avila's phone rings and it's Laura asking to speak to Missy. Mrs. Avila's heart sank because she assumed they were still together but Laura explained that Missy saw some guys she knew and left with them in a blue camaro. Three days later, a hiker found her deep in Angeles National Forest face down in a stream with a log across the back of her neck. The creepiest part: all of her hair was cut off. The case goes cold for 3-years until a witness comes forward with a shocking (and infuriating) tale. As I look back on over a decade of building a coaching business with Laura Doyle, one thing is clear: When I started out, I wasn't that good at it! So today I'll reveal how we got started—and what turned things around so things began to click. I'll share what has helped me grow so that building a business can become smooth sailing for you.
Who knows what's best for a client? I do! At least that's how I've felt at times, when I was attached to her results, her timeline, and what I thought she should do. So today I'll share something I've worked on for 23 years, including a big setback in my own Skills timeline (and how I was rude to Laura Doyle back then). I'll reveal the approach I keep coming back to, so you can relax instead of doing the heavy lifting as a coach, all while making the world a better place.

In this part two of two episodes, Deacon Eric sits down with Dr. Brett Salkeld to discuss three non-fiction, non-theological books that changed his life. This week; You Are Not Your Pain by by Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman and a surpise book that changed Brett's life without him ever reading it! Show Snippet: "It's freedom. It's the same thing. Freedom again. It's the same idea as the last two books, right? I was not free in this relationship. My pain was leading to a kind of compulsive behavior and it gives me just a little critical distance, just like from the anger or from the avoidant or attached needs. It gives me a little critical distance to say, 'what's really going on here?'" You Are Not Your Pain by Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman The Empowered Wife by Laura Doyle

Coming right up…. the years top 5 favorites…Welcome to the top 5 Love Your Story Podcast episodes of 2023. Let's start with #5.#5 falls to one of our latest episodes. It's called “Voices of Healing” it's episode #252. It's a compilation episode where I pulled in clips from lots of past interviews so we heard from Todd Sylvester, Amanda Grow, Dianne Butterfield, Trevor Lay….and others about their healing journeys. I think this episode was so powerful because we learn from one another, and when we pull in real life healing stories from so many different people, with different experiences, as well as professionals, well…there's a lot to learn and something for everyone. We all have things to heal from, so we all want to understand this path better. Here's a clip….Tune in to hear the clip...If you want to hear all the stories from this favorite, go back to episode 252, this one launched on Aug. 23 of this year, and take a listen to the whole show.Ok. Here we are at #4 - the number 4 favorite episode of 2023 was episode 239: my interview with Chris Hawker. This episode was titled: Tools to Magnify our Worthiness. I loved my chat with Chris because he is a man that has been in the leadership of Next Level Trainings - which was where I did a great deal of my work in moving my life forward - learning to reframe my stories. Chris came on the podcast and was honest and vulnerable about his own struggle with feelings of unworthiness. We talked about how these stories of unworthiness happen, how he navigated his, and then we get to hear some of his wonderful suggestion for reframing those erroneous and destructive feelings. I think this one is a favorite because working through any feelings of unworthiness is an important part of really becoming YOU. Here's a clip:Tune in to hear the clip...to hear the rest of his story about his road to truly embracing his real self worth… - again, it's episode 239 and it aired on February 22 of this year. Now on to #3 top fav for 2023. It's none other than What Kindness Can Do with Peter Mutabazi in episode 242.Peter Mutabazi grew up in Uganda. In this episode we hear his whole story - the brave escape from an abusive father at 10 years old, his subsequent life as a child living on the streets struggling daily to stay alive, and the fortuitous meeting of a man who would change Peter's life, and in so doing change the lives his siblings, their children, and all the children Peter now helps as a foster parent. This was part 1 of a two part series that was just incredible. One of my favorite interviews because he story is shocking, incredible, and how often do you get to speak with someone who was there to see the Tutsi and Hutu massacre in Rwanda - he talks about that in the second episode in this series, What Hate Can Do. The whole thing was incredible. Here is the beginning of his story.Tune in to hear the clip...Again, to listen to the whole episode and the next episode -it's a 2 part series, for his whole incredible story. He's amazing. Now for the #2 favorite of the year….. Episode 244 - Tips on Connecting with Your Man. My interview with Laura Doyle. I found it super...

Okay, I don't have much to say about outlaws. I just love that joke, that the difference between outlaws and in-laws is that outlaws are wanted. That's because in-laws can be annoying and get on your very last nerve! They might be nosy, overbearing, or passive-aggressive, but you can't get rid of them, as much as you might like to sometimes. Or is that me I'm thinking of? Well, not anymore. Now I genuinely like all my in-laws. I used to find fault with them like it was buried treasure, but it turns out they're a great bunch. Maybe your in-laws are not so great though, and it's putting stress on your marriage. So on today's episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we're talking about how to make his family members more tolerable. Plus, my guest Jessica was sure the only way her marriage would get fixed was if her husband would finally open his eyes and start treating her better! But she did some experiments herself, and her prayers were answered in an unexpected way. Now he writes her love notes that make her heart sing. She's going to tell us what she did so you can do it too.
