Life in the 21st century through the voice and heart of a poet. My dear listeners, Do you feel you move too quickly through this world? Pushing to achieve 'that somewhere in the distance' source of happiness, and ultimately racing to get somewhere big so at some point in the future when you're old and grey you can say 'you did it!' I was one of those people. A woman in the 21st century on a mission to claim the status of being fiercely independent, which I did... until I turned inward to see why I did what I did and why I felt what I felt. My desire to seek the truth of our existence & what we could really do to influence the greater good, resulted in the universe beautifully presenting me with synchronicities that have changed my life. Could you move slower and enjoy the ride while you're at it and get the same results quicker? These are thoughts I chase in my quest for the truth and have gotten closer to a more wholesome understanding. I now choose to savor & record the flavor of those moments that catch me in awe, and leave me with a feeling of deep emotion. I now choose to spend time in the stillness than in the race. Having said that, I now have a great yearning to share my understanding of this world & our truth as I feel it, in the now, though poetry. These are contemplations of life through my own emotional & intellectual journey and bursts of poetic flow of knowledge presented to me by people I admire, scientists, artists, and spiritual-gurus around the world who were put on my path to find the one truth. I record daily moments through words & voice so you can feel them; for what is life if you don't allow yourself to feel. Enjoy the podcast. Much Love, Ann. xxx

We blaze through our days With questions along the way Wondering how to get by and make Something that brings honor to our name Little do we know when we start the run That that's not what it's all about Yet we courageously walk ahead  In the hope to leave a mark on our ancestral past This is important to do for we stand here today,  Because of those in the rear view, Whatever rights or wrongs you judged them with,  Our ancestors are the reason we are here, Here to you, may be different from the person next door, But this life, you see, is such a personally unique journey, Comparison kills, But celebration for our wins, Is what will help us remember the moments in life That we stood tall despite it all, So today self-author your life gone by, Thus far, Regardless of the number left your days,  Remember those moments you struggled yet fought, For a fair shot at being the best at whatever role you had got, Mom, pop, sis, bro, friend, wife, teacher, soul mate, Was there a time when you could have thrown your marriage, or friendship under a bus? But worked through the pain to build it back up, Or was there a time, you stepped away from abuse  When you realized, well, what more could I loose? Or maybe you remember a moment of dancing in the rain, Or playing in the snow when everyone told you to come back home,  Remember that time when you had a sip of wine with your love by your side, On a dark winter's night, And when you stepped back to observe all the ways, You made it through your difficult days  Even if you complained, You made it and tried and that is a win for life, So forgive yourself for the days you wish you did more, The days, done by forever more, You did what you knew best, Even if what you knew best was a mess, Love yourself, as you close your eyes, Remember, where you came from is where you return, Our beloved home, This journey is a beautiful ride, A ride back home.  With love,  A friend. In light,  For an enteral lifeline.

It is in our unraveling that  The wonder and awe lives It blooms with each step Each one a little more intriguing  Than the last We scream, we cry, hope, beckon and gaze We dream, fight, laugh and laze, We live in the fullness of it all, For those moments in love,  And out of it, For our becoming,  Is never complete without It all.. So as we start to fall into grace Let it engulf us and take us into our better days That what I know now, I did not know then, And what I seek now, is well… The nowness in my days,  I laugh as I say that for the silliness in the words, But it’s the simplest of explanations, That can shape our world, For you see we’ve come so much to trust the facts of our world, We’ve been blinded to the depth of truth  That lie before our very eyes, It the intuitive soul we’ve quietened over time,  Wake up! Into nowness I say,  Let's ground within our souls, I’ll learn a little more as I trust in the unknown.

The rage in my mind softens through words with time, when my poetry takes over, Like a river it flows, I feel it’s loudness in the urgency to take control, When I know not how to voice the truth I feel,  It steadies in the stillness, It’s firm when it knows, Not through pure intelligence oh no, but through tapping into that divine zone,  When my message can be crafted to speak  To the masses,  Then, It’ll be kind and firm to draw your thoughts to yearn, So what do we see today,  The split of the conscious, unconscious and unaware, No it is not their fault.

These times are trying on humanity, but we can choose the way we want to deal with it, to use our mind to make our own conclusions on the state of world affaires and look to action positive change. Poetic Flow below: And today we sit, Head bent away from the sun, Wondering, waiting, wishing, For that day to come,  Where we step back out for a run, I was told to stay out of politics, To save my soul, Little did I know, in my lifetime,  We’ll be rolling in the heart of 1984, We’d be locked in,  Talking about a death toll,  Mainstream media, social media,  Screens feeding our minds,  Who stops to choose which lines are right,  It’s all too quick,  The subliminal lies,  We praise those draped well in a PR clock, Paying little attention to the voices that make it past, The gates of the controlling fakes,  Lets stop and ask then, What does it take? For a nation, humanity or situation, To have people asking more questions At what’s at stake?  Our planet will go on you see, Means nothing should we stay or go, If we choose to stay and raise our voices  Through the kind hearted,  Conscious doers and be-ers, Yeh that right a balance in our time,  Warrior and monk, Ah two collide,  Scared a union, Let’s not hide.

Gratitude is something we need to remember to practice to center us and bring us back to peace especially during troubled times. Writing, thinking or saying why you are grateful out loud daily helps us recognize that there are many things we can be grateful for, that we often forget about. Most often the things or people we take for granted are the very things that shake us to the core once taken away, and these are the very areas we need to look and find gratitude; for we have gotten so accustomed to their pretense in our life, we forget to acknowledge them. Much love.

The Union of Eros & Logos

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 13, 2020 2:49

In all stories, we can identify two aspects that are always prominent: Eros (one's feelings) and Logos (one's ability to rationalize these feelings.) Eros: The myth of Eros and Psyche is probably one of the best love stories in classical mythology. Eros, son of Aphrodite, was the personification of intense love desire and he was depicted throwing arrows to people in order to hit their heart and make them fall in love. Psyche, a beautiful maiden, personifies the human soul. In fact, she is the symbol of the soul purified by passions and misfortunes and who is, from now on, prepared to enjoy eternal happiness. In the love story of Eros (Cupid in Latin) and Psyche (meaning "soul" in Greek), we can see the perseverance of a man even when he is possessed by passion and the effort of a woman to overcome many obstacles in order to achieve the happiness of love. Logos: Logos, (Greek: “word,” “reason,” or “plan”), in Greek philosophy and theology, the divine reason implicit in the cosmos, ordering it and giving it form and meaning. Logos has two overlapping meanings. One meaning refers to an instance of speaking: "sentence, saying, oration"; the other meaning is the antithesis of ergon or energeia ("action" or "work"), so in logos there is something of the sense that the correct word and reason are more important than mere action or industry. Logos derives from the verb Lego (Legw), to count, tell, say, utter or speak. But Logos itself also includes the inward intention and reasoning underlying the speech act: that is, the hypothesis, thought, viewpoint, grounds for belief or action.

Ego, a word from the early 19th century from Latin, literally meaning "I."  It denotes a person's self esteem or self-importance. It can drag people down a black hole they don't know they're in, detached from the connectedness of the world. Narcissism, self absorption, playing victim are some of the few traits. Most of humanity has worn the hat of "I" at some point in their lives. When "I" takes over, we are highly individualistic, not working for the collective greater good, that's aligned with a higher purpose and more importantly with the energy of our universe. When we're not aligned, life is a battle, we fight alone, and who really wants to live like that?  There is a healthy and unhealthy ego. A person will power is driven from their ego to achieve. Now imagine, you use your will to create for the great good, that's your healthy ego at play, and it'll keep you moving forward in a humble spirit to achieve fulfillment. Use it, for the greater good.

People use Valentine's Day as a reminder to tell the person or people they love, they care. What if we extended that ritual to everyday, starting with ourselves and expanding that love to the people around us, what if we lived everyday like it was our last - who would we reach out to, to tell them we love them, who would we kiss goodnight, who would we hug to uplift their spirits, who would we call or text? Opportunities to show we care should come from within, everyday, not just on one day a year.  We are love in human form, hidden away with time as we get fearful of life. The choice to care for ourselves and the people around us, is literally a choice away. Love everyday not just today.

Known as the first computer programmer, and, only since 2009, she has been recognized annually on October 15th to highlight the often overlooked contributions of women to math and science. Lovelace died of cancer at 36, and it took nearly a century after her death for people to appreciate her notes on Babbage’s Analytical Engine, which became recognized as the first description for computer and software, ever. This tech visionary had already foreseen the power of computing. "A new, a vast, and a powerful language is developed for the future use of analysis, in which to wield its truths so that these may become of more speedy and accurate practical application for the purposes of mankind than the means hitherto in our possession have rendered possible. Thus not only the mental and the material, but the theoretical and the practical in the mathematical world, are brought into more intimate and effective connection with each other," she said.

You can love yourself when the time comes to and you feel detached from the world, we can return home to us, ourselves, within, whenever we want, it is a choice, a conscious choice at first that should innately become the subconscious habit; hence we will never feel alone, we will be whole.  Our freedom to love can never be taken from us, and so we must exercise this freedom to raise the energy of our world.

Thank you Constantine for dedicating this poem to me before I took off into the unknown. Much love.  Road to Ithaki As you set out for Ithaki hope your road is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them: you’ll never find things like that on your way as long as you keep your thoughts raised high, as long as a rare excitement stirs your spirit and your body. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, wild Poseidon—you won’t encounter them unless you bring them along inside your soul, unless your soul sets them up in front of you. Hope your road is a long one. May there be many summer mornings when, with what pleasure, what joy, you enter harbors you’re seeing for the first time; may you stop at Phoenician trading stations to buy fine things, mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony, sensual perfume of every kind— as many sensual perfumes as you can; and may you visit many Egyptian cities to learn and go on learning from their scholars. Keep Ithaki always in your mind. Arriving there is what you’re destined for. But don’t hurry the journey at all. Better if it lasts for years, so you’re old by the time you reach the island, wealthy with all you’ve gained on the way, not expecting Ithaki to make you rich. Ithaki gave you the marvelous journey. Without her you wouldn't have set out. She has nothing left to give you now. And if you find her poor, Ithaki won’t have fooled you. Wise as you will have become, so full of experience, you’ll have understood by then what these Ithakis mean. ------- I am on my journey to Ithaki, a destination I translate metaphorically as the journey back to my soul.

Lesson of every lifetime. Return to love.  Love is the answer for everything.  When taking a decision on what path to take, see whether you are taking it from a place of love or fear. If it is the latter, wait, because your reasons to act are coming from a lower energy vibration and can cloud your judgement, ie, you may agree to do something for the wrong reasons; ie. because you are scared. Return to love to help guide you. We all have rough patches in life, it's how we react to them that can change the effect a situation has on us. We create our own suffering and have to take responsibility for it. We can not run from it, however, we can become aware of our emotions, and ask ourselves, what would I do differently than what I have done before to get a better feeling output for myself? What would I do that would make me proud? Make sure your compass is pointing towards love and you'll be set in the right direction.
