Mark Grey's not only became the assistant coach over the years after starting out as a fan of the team but he's now one of the more integral members of this franchise. Dazeran Jones didn't start playing organized basketball until the 11th grade, yet found a way to the BIG3. Jones, who started his career at NAIA Warner University, turned a one year opportunity into a whole career. Through basketball, he went from working at Pepsi to being in a movie and playing professional basketball. “Duke Skywalka” recently made his BIG3 debut with Killer 3's and we discuss his career, getting the opportunity to play in the BIG3, and his role now that he's gotten his feet wet in the league. When the BIG3 announced that Trilogy would be adding Ryan “Hezi God” Carter, there was a lot of skepticism and feedback around how he would perform in this league. Killer 3's has been inches away from getting back to the playoffs for the first time since playing for a championship back in 2019, but they've come up just shy of another chance at a run. When Dusan Bulut entered the 2019 BIG3 Draft as the No. 1 FIBA 3x3 player in the world, it opened up a number of opportunities for not only other FIBA players but all players overseas. So when Bulut was named captain at the start of 2022, why not add his long time FIBA rival to the mix. Enter Karlis Lasmanis. Lasmanis, who won Olympic Gold in the first ever 3x3 games with Latvia, was someone Bulut went head-to-head with multiple times against and, alongside Tamas Ivosev, changed the dynamic of the BIG3. Lasmanis' ability to shoot, secondary playmaking, and feel for the 3-on-3 game made an instant impact in the league. He was a big part of the reason Aliens made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Isaiah Austin might have the most interesting journey to being a professional athlete in all of sports. A 7-footer with handles like a guard, the Baylor star still made his dream a reality despite playing blind in one eye and being diagnosed with Marfan's Syndrome days before he was about to be selected as a lottery pick in the NBA. After five years overseas, Isaiah put away his passport for now and joined the BIG3 in 2021.
