Mike, Tom, Tad, and Dave in studio. We have to thank Dave again for another great guest. We love having serious guests that can provide high level info on very technical subjects. Darin Morgan, an expert in intake system design, calls in to dispel some myths and crush some cathedral shaped dreams. Darin has been researching and designing induction systems for over 33 years. Throughout his career, his cylinder heads and intakes have been used in numerous disciplines such as NHRA Pro Stock, IHRA Pro Stock, Pro-Mod, Pro-Nitrous, tractor pulling, NASCAR, Land-Speed record engines, and much more. He has given over 37 lectures on wet-flow dynamics, cylinder head and induction system design, and induction system tuning. He has also taught over 50 engine building and induction system design classes. Live again next week Tuesday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Greg Banish of Calibrated Success called in tonight to give some additional high level knowledge. Greg is one of the guests that we can rely on for accurate information in almost any area of automotive systems. Greg has not only worked for OEMs in the calibration area, he literally wrote the book on calibration. His DVDs are fantastic and we highly recommend you check them out. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Unless you have not been paying attention all of the US factory hotrods are now supercharged. Hellcat/Demon, Corvette, and Mustangs have superchargers and that opens up a lot of potential not only in factory upgrades but aftermarket additions. Mike Sitar of Magnuson Superchargers calls in to explain the current state of the supercharging market. Years ago superchargers were the typical X-71 based clunky heat generating units, but technology has changed all that. The OEM's are exploring the HP limits and that drove the need for larger and more efficient superchargers was evident. Magnuson has grabbed onto this market with some fantastic products that can make very serious power numbers. Lots of good information from Mike, and we are glad he called in. Mike, Tom, Tad, and Dave Localio in studio. We have covered the internets and the misinformation on the web, but it is always worth covering again. Dave has never sat in on one these discussions so it was good to hear his perspective. People say and do the craziest stuff and you need to know when not to listen. Corrected audio Mike, Tom, Tad, and Dave Localio in studio OK, we can all thank Dave Localio for getting us connected with tonight's guest. We have talked to a ton of people in serious forms of racing, but this takes serious to a new level. We realize we have listeners from all different areas of motorsports but this is one any performance minded person should be interested in. Vince Tiaga, the lead powertrain engineer from GM's Corvette Racing project, joins the show calling in from France. Why France? Because Corvette Racing just completed pre qualifying for the 24 Hour of Le Mans race to be held June 16-17. Yes, that Corvette Racing. Vince explains his path to the GM Corvette Racing Project, and some of what goes into running these types of events. We talk about everything from powertrain to the actual events themselves. This one is a must listen. Live again next week Tuesday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Live callers welcome, and this will be the line for giveaways. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio Tom said it best, dumpster fire. So, we have no internet, no sound machine, the mixing board decided to on vacation, and we ended up streaming the show for the fans live with my cell phone. Check out how the Power and Speed team overcomes adversity. Live again next week Tuesday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio One of the best parts of doing this show is talking to people who have slid into this industry from less than obvious avenues. Chris Delgado is one of those guys. Chris Delgado of Prospeed Autosports started tuning cars in 2000 and took a interesting route to get there. Chris, a fan of hot pockets, sought out work in areas that interested him. Translation, Chris is a motivated guy who learns how to do what he needs to do. People that do this are fascinating because they are not confined to conventional thinking when looking at a new challenge. Chris is into a lot of interesting areas, and we talked about everything from "White Rice" to GM DI add port fuel injection systems. Give this one a listen to find out more. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio We think once or twice we brought up the cathedral port vs square port head thing. There has always been a "debate" about what heads are better for what and why. Tonight we have an expert that tested exactly this. Ben Strader of EFI University has built two engines with each of the head styles. The first engine, the cathedral port, has been installed in Ben's car and has made passes at the track. Listen in for the details and do a Google search of "Spinal Tap" EFI University is the real deal for education in these areas. We cannot stress enough the level of professionalism and detail that EFI U provides. If you are serious, and have the time, call them. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio We always welcome repeat guest, and Dave Localio of HeadGames is no exception. He actually lives close by the "studio" and at some point is going to come back in. Dave has a ton of real world experience in cylinder head work from everything from Vipers to 2JZ. Listen in and he will be back again in studio soon. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio Tom returns with some tales from the UAE after being gone for what seems like 6 months. Custom Show, serious dune machines, and clams are all covered. Mike has gotten deeper into the welding and metalwork side in his quest for a turbocharged Tahoe. He got some products from some companies you might be interested in. He's quite picky so when he says something works, it works. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, Tad, and two friends of the show Anthony and Josh stopped in to check out the "studio" For long time listeners Anthony called in about the self learning EFI in one of the very early show. We told em to come in and years later he finally did. Anthony is going to try to get to Drag Week this year and is getting parts together for a old school SBC. Josh is a LS guy and working on his own deal right now. We are going to see if we can help these guys get some part together. It's always nice to meet good guys from the car world. They are both welcome to stop by anytime. A bunch of live callers called in and that is always nice. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. This days always happen. We look around the room and say "whatdoyaogot"... nothing. Sometimes these shows are good from the standpoint of just the guys being the guys. (if ya heard the preshow stuff like "Build a Tad" referenced you could only imagine) Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Lake speed has been around racing as long as any of us can remember. Working with Gibbs Racing for many years has lead to the formation of Driven Racing Oils. Oils have changed more than most people over the years and those changes have impacted the life of high stress components in the engines we work with. Listen in for the changes that happened over the years in oils and why you should be using Driven Racing oil in an engines that push the limits. Mike, Tom, Tad, and SS Jeff in Studio. Jeff stopped by for the show and he has his SS going pretty good. 10.60 at 135ish. That's pretty damn nice for a 4400LBS street car. Greg Banish has been on several times before and always has loads of good information. Greg has honest to god OEM level calibration experience and knows the "right" way to do everything from their perspective. Imagine having all kinds of power and the mannerisms of a the showroom production car. His videos are priceless if you are working with the Gen 4 GM tuning tools and you should really check it out. Mike and Jeff in studio. To borrow from todays racing lingo, this is what we would call a "No Prep" show. (not that most of them are full of prep to begin with) The show was cancelled because Tom got called away, but Jeff showed up so we turned on the mics. I have always said they can't all be winners, but sometimes it's nice to just shoot the breeze. PJ from Canada called in (eh) to give some Rocky Mountain race week info. We had past shows discussing this event and if you are interested this has some details about this year's upcoming event. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. It's always nice to have return guests and it's even better when we can get some of the latest info people should know about. JC Beattie of ATI Performance joins us tonight for some additional transmission information. All the power in the world won't get the job done if the car does not leave and gets down the track. The engines of today can make so much power they require a trans that is built to live. Trans and converter tech has come a long way over the past few years and it never stops evolving. ATI is always on top of what it takes to get it done. Listen in as we discuss everything from the TH400 of today and the transmissions of the near future. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. The performance world changes fast. Advancements in power production have been occurring year after year. If you don't keep on top of things you will get left behind. Mark Conte joins us tonight to discuss Real Street and the power production possible today. Anyone in the Supra world certainly knows who Real Street is, but they are much more than Supera performance. Mark and the guys at Real Street have you covered for just about anything you are working on. Sound performance principles know no brand limits and you can be sure info from Real Street is the real deal. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Alrightythen. Things are getting back to normal and we should have a show you late model GM guys can get into. Like it or not, change is coming. Mike didn't like change when the LS popped on the scene or when the Corvette moved to square taillights. Most of us hate change, but since we can't stop it, we have to live with it. Howard Tanner joins us tonight to talk about exactly these changes. The two big changes in the GM power plant area will be smaller displacement (maybe even V6) and no pushrods. DOHC is the future and the control of the camshafts is valuable in both HP and economy perspectives. Calibrators like Redline are ready to meet these new challenges head on. Howard discusses where this is going from what he has seen from thus far from working with ATS Cadillacs and other GM DOHC engines. Tech is changing and you have to move with it or get out of this game. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, Tad, and Jeff in studio. Tom is back! Thank god, it's not easy to do this without people you work with all the time. Tom traveled to Japan and the Middle East for shows he had to attend. This should be the last bit of travel for a while so we can get back to the guests and the tech. Tom has some stories from the road, but he's pretty beat up. All said and done it was like being on the road for a solid month. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Fudd in studio. Tom is still away so good ole Fudd attempts to take his place. Fudd is still talking about his Dragweek car and is still stuck on a supercharger. We know they can work, but Mike seems to think it's not the best idea for this particular type of event. Tonight Glen Hunter calls in with some info Fudd might find useful. Glen has a beautiful old school Chevy that used to have a supercharger. After trying to get as much out of as he could he gave up and went over to turbos. Glen has been going to Dragweek since 2010 and has managed to knock a second off his best after the switch. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. There are a few companies that achieve a level of success that most of us can look up to. We all had engine builders, car builders, and racing organizations over the years we followed. There is no doubt that most categories of racing at the professional level get difficult to say the least. That is gross understatement when you are speaking about 24 hour endurance races. Katech met the challenge head on, and made their mark in racing history. Kevin Pranger of Katech Engines called in to give us some insight into his career at Katech and where they are today. Anyone who has ever poked in at a endurance road race on TV has seen the GM Corvettes. They have been front and center for years, and the Corvette Racing legacy really started with Katech and Kevin Pranger. In 1997 GM got together with Katech and the C5R program was born. Though the program GM and Katech secured more than a couple of high profile wins. BUT... What can Katech do for you, the regular car guy? How about CNC porting of your heads at an unbelievably low price? Or a complete spin fixture tested valve train package? Katech is the real deal, and you are not doing yourself any favors if you do not check out what they have to offer. You cannot get the level of experience they posses from many other companies. There is lots of history here and lots of information on LS3 engines that last in endurance racing. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Well, it's official, Mike left his house and actually went to PRI 2017 in Indy. It was a very fast trip, with just a small amount of time spent at the show. (and yes, he drove the Tahoe out there) Mike got to meet lots of the people that have been on the show, and did manage to mess with a few of them. A bunch of listeners got together after the show day for dinner with Mike and Tom. Lots of fun, all good people Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. What is GM doing? For that matter what are most of the manufactures doing? The guys feel GM is messing things up at almost every turn. The long standing battle between square ports and cathedral ports takes another turn. Ben Strader of EFI University calls in to discuss the latest findings between these two head types on two test engines. Both of these are very high horsepower normally aspirated engines that make serious power per cubic inch. Check this one out for some more insight into this whole subject. If you are really serious about learning how to calibrate or build racing engines check out what EFI U has to offer. You won't be sorry. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Well, Mike had a crappy week. Mike was saddled with a plumbing disaster Friday night at his home this past week with a 4" cast iron septic pipe deciding it was time to check out. We don't think we need to get into more detail than that. Show prep has to take a back seat sometimes to real life, and this was one of them. With that lovely image in your head, enjoy your Thanksgiving! Tune in next week for Ben Strader from EFI U. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike and Tom in studio. Tad broke a ball joint and is sitting on the side of the road (we had to tell you or you might not have noticed) We have to apologize ahead of time to Eric Brooks and our fans. We were in a bad position after having missed two weeks. We had a SEMA delay, an issue with the internet service being messed up, and now almost a third straight week of no show. Mike got called in to a surprise budget meeting he could not miss. That messed up our time, our prep, and the time we could devote to Eric. Eric is a stand up guy and moved stuff around just to be on at our earlier time. We will FOR SURE have Eric on to get more into HP Tuners and get much deeper into Ford programing in the very near future. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. The title says it all.
Mike, Tom, Tad, and SS Jeff in studio. Well Mike has gone and done it. He talked about it with Sloppy Matt, but he did it. Mike is the proud owner of a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, and we have no doubt that HP tuners will put Mike in an an institution. The oddest part of all of this Mike actually witnessed a crime! We love repeat guests, and tonights guest could not come at a better time. Greg Banish of Calibrated Success is one of the best resources for the process of calibration while taking into account the OEM perspective. Greg has worked directly for quite a few top tier manufactures as a calibrater and has direct insights into why they do what they do. Greg has produced quite a few educational books and DVDs and we highly suggest you check them out. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, Tad, and SS Jeff in studio. Our buddy Jeff stopped by tonight to fill us in on his SS that Mike has been helping him with. The initial tunes are done and the car is solidly in the 10s. There is more left in it, but it is a true street car. It drives like a stock car, no meth injection, and still weighs in at 4400LBS. It's really nice to see this working out so well, and we hope for more data soon. Since Mike has been fumbling about with HP Tuners tonights guest is a good fit. Dave Steck of DSX Tuning calls in to give us some insights about stock GM PCMs. There is no doubt some things with a stock PCM become problematic. They pose a unique set of problems and DSX has some very nice items to help work though them. More and more street guys are going to other than NA route to make big power and things like E85 really help. The stock PCM has the ability to do this but you need a few things to get it going. DSX has some great kits that are easy to install to do the hardware conversion. After it is installed a few tweaks with HP Tuners and you are ready to go. DSX has quite a few "make life easier things" so if you are a GM PCM guy check him out. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, Tad, and Matt Happel in studio. Tonights guest is actually in studio, and that is always the best way to do it. Matt Happel of Sloppy Mechanics took the trip to NJ from PA to explain the mindset of Sloppy Mechanics. Loads of people get this wrong and think it is about just bad or sloppy work. That is NOT it at all. Sloppy Mechanics is all about accomplishing a goal with a low investment. Think shade tree mechanics on every form of power adder available. The performance potential of factory, and budget, equipment is incredible if done correctly. Sloppy Mechanics guides will get you going in the right direction... and on a budget. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. We try really hard to make sure we get some of our racing royalty on, and tonight is no exception. Eric Dillard of Proline Racing calls in to tell us the story Proline and how they go to where they are today. Anyone who follows the higher end drag cars of today knows that there are a handful of companies that would be considered the goto companies, and Proline is one of them. Proline is not just a "pro" type engine builder. They are also responsible for the fastest Lamborghinis on the planet running out of Underground Racing's shop. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Well, that's it. Now sports are a political mess too. We are all going to try to stay more clear of these issues. All these guys should try a sport that takes real balls...ya know what we are sayin. A little acceleration therapy might do them some good. First caller of the night is Jake Blain. We hate to see people have their pride and joy get trashed, and this guy had a tough time. He lost an injector o-ring and a massive fire ensued. Jake actually bailed out of the car before it stopped it was so bad. He's ok, but his car isn't. Go check out 5252rpm.com and buy a hat to help em for christ sake. Remember, a car is always replaceable, your health is not. ProTorque. We have all heard the name if we follow any drag racing at all. ProTorque is a serious player in the converter industry and Joe Rivera calls in to give some insights into business, tech, and relationships?? Joe talks about different aspects on the converter and how changes affect it's operation. There were some very key nuggets in here about the stator, fluid relationships, and construction. A couple of ProTorue customers call in, and we would like to have them on individually as well. Joe is a NYer and we would love to have him in studio if he gets out this way. Joe is a native NYer and we would actually like to have him in studio one night when he fells like taking a ride. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Dragweek 2017 is officially in the books. Congrats to all the guys who have been part of our show. Jason Doisher for the win in the SBPA 8.50 class with a pass on the last day to seal the deal. John Dodson second in the SBPA 8.50 class and a convincing win in the 8.50 challenge after the main event. James Karger for the win in the BBPA 8.50 class. Great runs all week. Matt Blasco in The Dirty Dart with the win of PSPA and the save of the week. (go find that on youtube! Richard Guido with the win in the Stick Shift Challenge. Go watch that video on youtube as well. (notice the shirt) Hats off to Alex Corella for leaving a hurricane behind to come race, and Team 260 for a hell of a work week. Was great to meet the above guys and all the others at this event, Even Steve Reimann from Australia with his gift of socks for Mike. This was a good time full of great people. We really look forward to being involved with the event next year, and like Tom says, we are winning (so don't get to comfortable Jason!) Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. OK, so it's really close. When you are listening to this is might even be started. Dragweek 2017 is almost here. We have a broader listening base than we would have ever though and it is no secret the Aussies are serious car nuts. Tonight we actually have to Australian listeners who are here right this second for Drag Week 2017. Steve Reimann and Harry Haig both call in to share their on the road experiences so far. Everything from blown up tow vehicles to "Home Depot browsing car guy problem solving". This guys are great guys and we really can't wait to meet them all at Byron. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Sat night fights. Mayweather is still the man. Hats off to McGregor for stepping into this and making a good showing. (and Mike lost 5 bucks) It's always a privilege to talk to the true legends of our sport, and tonight is one of those nights. Tonight on Power and Speed Kenny Duttweiler calls in to the show for, in his words, an open forum discussion. Kenny has been a long time performance enthusiast and from an early age spent his time reading the magazines of the day. Listen as he tells how the beginnings launched the career of what would be one of the racing legends of our time. From the salt flats of Bonneville to the drag strips across the country Kenny Duttweiler powered vehicles have shaped the way we view turbocharges and drag racing. Mike, Tom, Fireman Jeff, and Tad in studio. Fireman Jeff is in studio and he is the luckiest man around about now. He broke a lifter, and hurt nothing else in the process. That NEVER happens, but you always see the craziest stuff if you are around this long enough. This is the second attempt at tonights guest, but well worth it. Tony Palo from T1 Race Development and Injector Dynamics joins the show. Tony was on once before with Paul Yaw, and together they are the Co-owners of Injector Dynamics. Separately they both own their own companies, T1 Race Development and Yaw Power. T1 was born out of the import performance market and has gravitated to the GTR performance industry. Tony has a long history with import performance, and the GTR is really the logical destination. There is quite a bit to the GTRs and what it takes to make them make over 2000HP. Listen in for some in depth information about Mainline Dynos, dyno testing, application of Injector Dynamics equipment and much more. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Mike has been super busy, Tom had a tree fall on the house he is selling, and Tad is... well... always Tad. We really like talking to genuine good people. There are lots and lots of them in this sport, and tonights guest is no acceptation. Doug Cook from Motion Raceworks called in to let all the listeners know about the Drag Week meet and greet they are having. Saturday September 9th to meet the people, see the cars, drink and so on. All of the proceeds are being donated to Operation Homefront. Like we said, good people. With the party details out of the way, we got to hear about Doug's business Motion Raceworks. Check them out when you need something, we don't think you will be sorry. Like us on Facebook by going to Power and Speed Podcast and follow us on Twitter @powerspeedpod. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Mike gave us some insight into who listens and where. Australia, Canada, and the UK make up the top 3 after the USA. Nice. Maine is slacking terribly, but the car people of Utah are listening! Seriously, thank you guys. We really can't say enough about this episode's guest. Billy Godbold of Comp Cams calls in to give some very technical information about camshafts. This show is not so much about camshaft recomendations, it's about the actual theory behind the camshaft and ways to apply these theories. Some very interesting information about jerk, intensity, defection, springs, pushrods, rockers, and the valve train as an overall system. If you follow our shows for technical details you will really like this one. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Oh boy, here we go again. Fans will remember the show after Trump won the election Mike happened to play a Kid Rock song for the show open. There is no way we could have known this guy is going to run for office in Michigan, and in some early polling he's actually up. Well we know this guy certainly isn't gonna be able to say he's a nice wholesome gentleman...crazy times The Team 260 guys (you have to say Two Six Oh or they get touchy) have been trying to put on a race called "Neglection" for some time now, and they keep getting screwed up by the weather. It looks like it's finally going to happen! Seriously, these are good guys, and they know how to treat people at an event. The event occurs at Lyons Raceway park on the 29th of July. If you are reasonably close, head there. We are sure you won't be disappointed. Tonights guest is Dave Vassar of Nitrous Outlet. Dave shares his story of starting out in parts retail industry and ended up landing squarely in the nitrous kit and component manufacturing area. Dave is responsible for some of the most well thought out nitrous kits on the market. Puck systems, Stinger systems, and the new Interspooler system are all straight out of their in house R&D center. Dave gets into some of the details of the various kits and there evolution through testing. Lots of good stuff from Dave, and we would be happy to have him back anytime. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Well this is a first for us. We have had guests from manufacturers, guests from EFI training, and guests that are racers. We have never had a racer get to call in during a race week event. To make this twice as nice, we have not one racer, but two! Richard Guido and Billy Armstrong both call in while competing in Rocky Mountain Race Week. We had Richard on few shows back to get their Drag Week stories. For those that don't remember his show, he is a crazy Canadian who runs an honest to god Pontiac 6 speed car. Richard has made quite a few friends on his Drag Week endeavors and he is with one of them tonight. Billy Armstrong is a fellow racer and it seems they are enjoying the high altitude air, along with a libation or two, after a day of traveling. Listen to these guys and you will get an idea what this whole Rocky Mountain Race Week can throw at you. There are some very unique challenges here and be sure to pay attention to the altitude discussion. Great guys and we can't wait to meet them. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Tom takes an Uber, Mike has a plan, and together they failed. With that out of the way, the shows as of late are really full of good info from good people. Shane T, Paul Yaw, Ben Strader and now... Greg Banish. Greg has a very different perspective from most calibrators (tuners). Greg has worked with GM, Ford, Saleen, Lotus, and Roush. He has seen the inside of how the sausage is made for what we drive, or lust after, every day. Think about that. Guys like Greg are the reason what we drive does in fact have the mannerisms we expect a factory car. Greg explained more than a few items from the OEM perspective and tied them in from a performance standpoint. The direct injection side was particularly interesting to us. Greg has also authored books relating to the performance calibration field as well as video productions on the same subjects. Check for the books on Amazon, I know Mike bought some already. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Most of the listeners know that the guys are really into DragWeek, and tonights two guests are the main reason they even started looking into it at all. Clark Rosenstengel 2016 DragWeek Class Champion calls in. Clark was not resting on his win over the winter at all. Clark stepped up his program in a major way with a brand new engine built by Steve Morris. When we say stepped up we me like billet water jacketed block stepped up. The race is won in the garage, and Clark has been on it this winter. He has the experience, the car, and certainly the engine to defend his win. We think he has more than a good shot. In almost a redo of the first show these guys were on Jason Doisher called right after Clark. Jason runs the same class as Chris Bishir, John Dodson, Alex Corella, and Adam Hodson. Jason has a new engine and is working out the best converter he can find. In the off season in preparation for DragWeek Jason has been running some special events and scored a very popular win at the National No Prep Redemption 7.0. Jason has been all around the top of his class, and he is certainly one of the few guys who can win this whole thing. These guys are great guests, and we honestly can't wait to meet them, and all of the guys we have talked to, at DragWeek 2017. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. First off, we suck. We should be telling you this all the time. Screw Facebook likes and iTunes reviews. They really don't mean much of anything. If you like the show and want to help us. Share it Share It Share It. That does in fact help. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to be able to speak to the guests we have on the show. These guys are "THE guys" when it comes to what you really need to know. Tonights guest is Ben Strader, founder of EFI University. He has mentored and trained thousands of tuners from all over the world over the last decade and a half. He has spoken at ATEC several times, assisted NHRA Pro Stock and NASCAR teams on their transition to EFI, worked in nearly every venue of motorsports and even authored a book. Now Ben runs a racing engine development program through the school to help bridge the gap between builders and tuners. Ben freely gave out some of the best information about the entire industry you could every possibly get. There is so much in this one, we can't put it all in here. Grab this one and save it. We had a surprise caller at the very end of the show. We almost left him hanging because we had no idea who it was. Turns out it was Doc from Street Outlaws. Ben has been instrumental in getting Doc going with his Haltech ECU. We thank Doc for calling in and giving Ben a celeb endorsement. Doc is welcome to come on at any time. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. There is nothing we enjoy more than giving our listeners the chance to learn from some of the very best in our industry. Very rarely do we actually listen to the show over again, but this is one we all will. Shane Tecklenburg of Tuned By Shane T calls in for the longest show to do date. Shane is an absolute wealth of information on the subject of tuning. We could ramble on here for a page and a half, but honestly you just have to listen. Shane will be back for round 2, and after this discussion, we are sure there is much much more to come. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Serious moment from Power and Speed. Listen guys, bad guys are bad guys. Go easy on the terrorist stuff. We all have strong feelings about these assclown, but don't let that cloud your judgement about people. Maybe if we all focused on the car guy end things would be a little better. Tonight we have two heavy hitters in this industry. Paul Yaw and Tony Palo from Injector Dynamics call in to go over some products and discuss some tech. The latest from Injector Dynamics is the ID F750 fuel filter. The level of detail that goes into a product design from these guys is amazing. There is lots of good info about filters and the principals behind them that you should listen to. Going further with new products is the talk of the fuel pump they have displayed at the trade shows. Paul and Tony have some really good tech on their future pumps. Hint- in tank for big power. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Sometimes you just have to clear the air. Mike addressed an issue with a Facebook guy that has taken a turn into the personal. Everyone knows Mike is a we bit hostile, but the whole Facebook thing he did not start. He questioned data, and the other party got personal. Most of it is still up there on the Power and Speed Fan page. Tonights guest is Dave Kogan of Kogan racing engines. Dave is a super talented engine builder from the Northeast and located in Long Island NY. Kogan racing engines is the ONLY Holley EFI certified installer in the area. The Holley stamp of approval is a big deal and not just everyone is on that program. Dave has a long history in the Mopar area from when he was a kid, and over the course of his career he landed at Ray Barton's. That is one of those places that if you don't know who they are, look them up. Listen in, and get some info about Dave. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio along with two special guests from Dubai. Saeed Almarzouqi and Mohmed Ahmad came in with Tom. We can't tell you how amazing it was to have guys from thousands of miles away that share our common interest in all things fast. Saeed is the man behind the Custom Show in the UAE that Tom attends every year. We really hope these guys make our studio a stop every time they are stateside. The Team 260 guys checked in, the Neglection race has been postponed due to weather. These guys, and others are welcome to come on the show and plug their events. If you are close to the shows they put on, stop by and show your support. Cobb Tuning is well known around the Subaru world and have expanded to bands including Porsche, Nissan, and Ford. Mike McGinnis Senior R&D Calibrator of Cobb Tuning called the show to go over the process of development at Cobb. Cobb offers complete packages that are proven to provide solid repeatable gains, but the offering does not stop there. Cobb actually can repurpose sections of the ECU to provide features like trans brakes and bump in functionality. Mike is one of the guys making it all happen, and the show can only scratch the surface. Mike Jovanis, NJ resident, NMCA racer, and DragWeeker calls in to share some knowledge of what it takes to compete in DragWeek. Mike needs to come on again because the show ran so long. We got into a few things we wanted to talk about, but we were up on a time constraint. Mike is in the plans to come back in the next few shows. These DragWeek guys have lots of valuable info to share. Live again next week Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on Mixlr.com. Call in number 908 751 0211.
