This one legitimately feels like a cinematic universe unfolding in real time. In this episode, Darin sits down with Gustavo Herman Moro — full-time landscaper, part-time explorer, and the modern discoverer of one of the most historic sunken treasures ever found off the coast of South America. From uncovering the legendary La Capitana galleon to battling governments, navigating the ethical minefields of underwater archeology, and now pursuing what might be the largest treasure recovery in human history, Gustavo takes us into a world few have ever seen up close. This episode is adventure, danger, obsession, heartbreak, and purpose — all rolled into one. In this solo episode, Darin Olien explores one of the most overlooked yet revealing health topics: the truth about wisdom teeth. What if removing your wisdom teeth isn't just unnecessary — but harmful? What if this long-standing dental ritual has more to do with profits than prevention, and its removal may even disconnect us from our body's natural energy flow? From evolutionary biology to energetic meridians, Darin unpacks why wisdom teeth might hold more "wisdom" than modern dentistry admits — and how to make truly informed choices for yourself or your kids. What You'll Learn in This Episode [00:00:00] Welcome to SuperLife – Darin introduces the show's mission: real solutions for a healthier, more sovereign life [00:00:32] Sponsor – ENERGYbits Spirulina & Chlorella: why Darin takes them daily for clean cellular fuel [00:01:52] Today's focus – "The wisdom in wisdom teeth": are we pulling them too soon and for the wrong reasons? Jetzt also "Die späten Tage". Jörg Magenau hat das Buch gelesen.

In this compelling conversation, Darin and Monica Strong share what they learned from building their early homestead in the wrong order and how those lessons now shape their approach to preparation, community, and faith. They explore what “building your ark” looks like today— from prioritizing food storage to decentralizing your resources and refusing to homestead in isolation. With bold conviction, they urge us to cultivate discernment in this cultural moment, listen for God's leading, and remember that growing our faith is the most important step we can take toward being prepared for what is next.In this episode, we cover:How Darin & Monica realized they built their first homestead out of order and what they now believe every new homesteader needsA fresh take on “building your ark”: how Noah's obedience, timing, and spiritual posture are reflected in the modern homesteading movementWhy long-term food storage is the first layer of peace, not panic, and how one bulk order can jump start your preparedness planWhat happens when you acquire animals before infrastructure (including the milk cow story that changed their plans!)A call to break out of isolation and rebuild the kind of agrarian, interdependent communities our great-grandparents lived inHow homesteaders are decentralizing their food sources and reclaiming territoryWhy homesteading often looks “irrational” from the outside and how that mirrors Noah building an ark before rain existedDiscernment for this cultural moment: knowing when to stay, when to move, and how to listen for God's voice above the noiseA bold reminder that faith (more than skill, money, or land) is the foundation of resilience in the storms aheadEncouragement for the families feeling stirred or called into something new and why obedience now matters for what comes nextThank you to our sponsors!KubotaUSA.com | Providing the right equipment to keep us moving, shaping, and growing America's farms, fields, and constructionPremier1Supplies.com | Your one-stop shop for a variety of homesteading supplies and expert adviceRESOURCES MENTIONEDGain access to the conference videos mentioned in this episode by becoming an HOA memberFind out if there's an Azure Standard drop near you!Check out the previous HOA episode with AJ RichardsSnag your REFORMER hat hereCONNECTDarin & Monica Strong | Website | Instagram | YouTube | XHomesteaders of America | Website | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube | PinterestGET MORE FROM THIS EPISODEWatch this episode on YouTube:View full show notes and transcript on the blog: https://homesteadersofamerica.com/e52-before-the-storm-preparing-your-homestead-and-heart-for-what-is-to-come-darin-monica-strong/

In this explosive episode, Darin sits down with Johnny Graham, the CEO of Pacific United Power and Pulse Proof, and the founder of the largest YouTube channel in the solar industry. Together they uncover the hidden vulnerabilities in America's power grid, the looming threats of EMPs and AI-driven energy demands, and how solar technology could be the key to both national security and personal sovereignty. Johnny's story — from door-to-door solar sales to building an empire redefining the energy landscape — is a masterclass in leadership, innovation, and self-reliance. Look at me, Harry! NostalgiaCast kicks off its 1995 retrospective with a fond look back at GET SHORTY, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo, and Danny DeVito. Jonny and Darin don't say anything more than they have to, if that, as they compare this meta-comedy classic confection to the Elmore Leonard book on which it's based, gush over their favorite performances and dialogue, and marvel at how Sonnenfeld and screenwriter Scott Frank make the adaptation their own. Don't be a f*** ball. Listen now!

In this solo episode, Darin reframes one of the most misunderstood forces in life — stress. Instead of seeing it as the enemy, he explores how stress is actually a messenger, guiding you back to alignment, safety, and awareness. Through science, spirituality, and lived experience, Darin breaks down how stress shows us where we're trying to control, where we're disconnected, and where our nervous system is calling for attention. He unpacks the layers of modern stress — from trauma and environment to community and purpose — and offers practical, embodied tools to restore calm, clarity, and resilience. #324: Kubernetes has reached a mature state where boring releases signal stability rather than stagnation. While the platform continues evolving with features like in-place resource updates in version 1.33, the real challenge lies in optimizing AI workloads that demand significantly more resources than traditional applications. The discussion reveals how auto-scaling capabilities become crucial for managing these resource-intensive workloads, with vertical and horizontal scaling finally working together through new features that allow pod resizing without restarts. The conversation explores the ongoing tension between cloud costs and data center investments, particularly as companies navigate uncertain AI requirements. While cloud providers offer flexibility for experimentation, the hidden costs of skilled personnel and infrastructure management often make cloud solutions more economical than initially apparent. The debate extends to startup strategies, where outsourcing infrastructure complexity allows teams to focus on core business value rather than operational overhead. Omer Hamerman joins Darin and Viktor to examine the common misconceptions about resource allocation, arguing that developers fundamentally cannot predict CPU and memory requirements accurately. This limitation makes automated right-sizing and intelligent scaling essential for modern Kubernetes deployments, especially as AI workloads continue pushing infrastructure boundaries.

#323: Vibe coding - the practice of giving AI a high-level description and letting it build applications unsupervised - has become increasingly popular among non-developers looking to quickly prototype ideas. While this approach excels at rapid prototyping and getting small, focused applications running, it creates significant security risks when deployed to production without proper oversight. The fundamental issue isn't with AI capabilities, but with treating any tool - whether AI or human - as capable of understanding company context, security requirements, and production standards on day one. The real value emerges when vibe coding serves as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation. Rather than replacing traditional development workflows, it can accelerate the initial phases by providing working prototypes that stakeholders can interact with before formal development begins. However, moving from prototype to production requires the same rigorous processes that any new technology integration demands: security scanning, code review, compliance with company policies, and proper authentication handling. In this episode, Darin and Viktor explore the security implications of unsupervised AI development, discussing when vibe coding makes sense, where it falls short, and how organizations might eventually integrate AI-assisted development into their existing workflows while maintaining security and operational standards.
